Ted's Montana Grill

We were in town for the weekend for a hockey showcase, and after a long day at the rink, it was time to refuel. Considering it was a Saturday night around 7 PM, we knew we’d probably face a wait, so one of our party called ahead to make a reservation for about half an hour later. To our surprise, we only had a 10-minute drive from our hotel, and we were promptly seated when we arrived. Our server, Josh, was fantastic! His playful and joking personality made the experience fun, but he was also efficient and professional in taking our orders and ensuring everything went smoothly. We all agreed that the food was exceptional—four of us ordered the bison steak, and one had a beef steak. All were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Unfortunately, we were too full to save room for dessert, but we couldn’t help but notice how delicious the ones going to other tables looked. Next time, we’ll definitely be saving room! After our meal, Josh took the time to chat with us about our visit, asking about what brought us to town and making small talk, even though we were winding down. It was a nice touch that made us feel comfortable and not rushed, especially as the evening got later. Ted’s Montana Grill was a perfect choice to end a busy day, and we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

Was recommended here by a friend because we wanted to go somewhere that would allow us to bring our dog. The food was excellent and our server was awesome! Only issue with sitting outside is that they seem to have a ladybug problem, and we had to keep a close eye on our drinks and food. Other than that we had a great experience.

We stopped here for a late lunch/early dinner from out of town. When we entered the restaurant the interior is very well decorated and definitely gave you an old authentic vibe. We waited quite a few minutes for the hostess to arrive at the front. We requested to be seated outside on the patio. Our waitress came and got our drink order, then food. Everything came out very good. The bison ribeye was a little pricey at $50 but it was delicious with very little gristle fat. The beef short ribs were very good as well. The kids menu had plenty of food and a seafood option which I thought was good. Overall I gave it a 4/5 as the service was basic, the food was good just not out of this world. Also the price was a little high for what I feel like we received. I would come back again to try other menu items.

I moved away from the area about 5 years ago and I had fond memories of coming here and really enjoying myself. However this time. Not so much. I stopped in and sat at the bar. I was politely and quickly greeted with a smile and asked for a drink order. The bartender was quite nice and attentive for the most part. I was reallyyyyy craving a steak an after going to firebirds and sitting at the bar for about 7-10 minutes and not even getting greeted I left and came to Ted’s. So I ordered a strip steak (med rare) with a crab cake on top. My usual go to. It came out rather quickly as they didn’t even let it rest for a few minutes before sending it out. Cut it and to me, it wasn’t med rare. Again it all means different temps to people however it was not a cool red center and after a bite thinking I could eat it if it’s a little over done. No, it had NO seasoning on it at all. No salt or pepper. Nothing. The meat tastes spoiled as well. The meat didn’t taste like it should. Everything came out hot which is wonderful but everything even the garlic mashed potatoes has no flavor to them at all. Put a little love into them, please.

The Ted's Montana grill is a nice setting for a quality family dinner. The menu is traditional healthy American cuisine. We enjoyed the apple dessert.

Busy but only a 5 minute wait. Waitress (Kayla) was very attentive! When she saw you were low on a drink, she brought another before you had time to ask for one. Delicious food! Best burger I ever had!! Gluten free menu available.

Although I don't typically review chain establishments, I had to highlight this place due to it's unique entree features. You can get a decent steak at just about any chains. However, this is the only place in the region that I know of offers Bison steaks and entrees. Besides the typical cut of Bison steaks, it also features short ribs, brisket, and meatloaf. All of the above were outstanding, and tastefully done. The atmosphere inside can be summed up as rustic and nostalgic. Staff was very attentive to our needs. They do take reservations, and it's probably a good idea if you visit during the weekend. However, pricing reflects that of higher end steak house, but the quality is there to back it up. So if you never had a Bison steak or entree, this is the place to try it out.

Always good food and excellent staff. Had a turkey special for only $20, I took half home as it was too much for me to eat!!

GREAT Food and Service. Definitely a "do-over and over again kind of place! We had a birthday dinner at Ted's and it was wonderful! Not pretentious... just the right amount of Sass and comfortability. A dressed-up AND a dressed down kind of place. Good pricing and good food= return visits. See you soon! Keep it up!

Waitstaff was nice and attentive. Restaurant was pretty empty for Saturday at 130pm. Crab cake app was good as usual. Can't say anything bad about this place at all. Food is always good, waitstaff is always attentive and the drinks are good too! It can get noisy on the weekends but that's to be expected. I'll be back soon

Wife and I come here regularly and not only is the food great----service is as well. Place is always busy on the weekends so opt to sit in the bar area as they have 5-6 four person, bar height round tables. We always order their starter salt and pepper onion rings and they do not disappoint. Today wife had steak salad and I opted for the chili and wedge salad---chili is full of beef and sprinkled with a good number of jalapeño slices---perfect!

Server name Kim and other members of restaurant staff were great but the main dish, salmon was not good enough don't know how they cooked? wasn't broiled or pan fried just looked weird and mushy not a tasty at all! Needs to improve on salmon dishes!

We picked Ted's Montana Grill on a whim based on the Google search of local steakhouses. The food in the ambience went above our expectations. Our waitress was phenomenal and I ate probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was cooked perfection and the meat was very fresh. My very picky nephew enjoyed bison and a steak And said both were very delicious. Onion rings were thick and battered and cooked perfectly as well.

Somewhat pricey, haven't been in a while. Service was good. We had bar food, which was ok

Very tasty vaieities of burgers, boef, bison (n venison} ,but on the pricey side. Best deal is a bowl of chilli and side salad with water.

I dined at Ted's for dinner and everything was wonderful. I had the tortilla soup, since it was the special and it was hot, had great flavor and had a lot of chicken. I also ordered the Skinny Dip bison burger and it was delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly and it was topped with fresh avocado. On the side I had kale salad and carrots; both were great. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a quality meal made fresh and from whole foods. Why eat at fast food restaurants when you can eat quality food and service for cheaper? Also, the manager and bartenders (Casey, Kim and Nicole) were very kind and hardworking! Keep up the great work!

My visit to this Ted's Montana location was my first experience trying the chain. The restaurant was pretty quiet when I came in with a friend for a weeknight dinner. Our server did a great job answering any questions we had as first-time customers. We ordered the Green and Hot Burger with a bison patty and 50/50 Fries & Onion Rings as the side. We also got the Bison Short Ribs entree and switched out the Buttered Carrots for Parmesan Roasted Broccoli. Both entrees arrived pretty quickly; food presentation was done pretty well. The burger was pretty average compared to others I've had. The kitchen skimped quite a bit on the toppings. The Onion Rings didn't taste very fresh; the breading tasted a bit stale. The Bison Short Ribs were a little chewy for a short rib. They could have been braised a bit longer for a more tender texture. The mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, but the Parmesan Roasted Broccoli was a bit undercooked and hard to chew. Overall, my experience at this Ted's Montana was mediocre. Food quality was very hit or miss. Service was decent throughout our visit. I'm glad I tried Ted's Montana, but I wouldn't return to this location again.

We have been here The food is just as good if not better Big portions Hot and fresh Service was amazing Our waitress was kind, food came fast, if any problems she fixed it. Like ask for jalapeños on side of nachos ( not posted we ate really fast it was good ) It was quiet when we went it was before it busy. That was 4:30pm on a Thursday. Started getting busy after 5pm little noisy It was like in between All and all great place to eat

Teds Montana Grill is great, and after enjoying them in numerous states, I can definitely say this is a great location. Over numerous occasions to eat at this location, the food has been constantly good. The service has been outstanding and attentive. The restraunt has been clean and the tables were quickly cleared. The ambiance has been on target for an older looking establishment that may have been around out west. I love and appreciate the look.

Nothing about this experience was desirable, but the service was the worst part so let's begin there. There was no wait when we arrived, and we asked for a table for 6 including a high chair and a booster seat. The hostess noted that because they have wooden booster seats, the seats will only fit in chairs but not in booths. She said we would need to wait 30 minutes for her to push two tables together to seat 6. So, we opted for a booth. She then led us to a booth in the middle of the dining room and said that we could not put a high chair on the end because it was in the walkway. Understandable. So we asked if she could seat us at the booth toward the very front of the restaurant where there was no walkway and we could have a high chair. She obliged and we thanked her for working with us. We then waited so long for someone to come take our order that we were discussing leaving and looking up where we would go. (for context, we were just passing through town so don't know the area) A server finally graced our section and paused to greet the table of customers who arrived after us before making his way to us. He offered to take drink orders, and we asked that he take our full order. As long as we'd already waited, we had already culled the internet reviews on our selections and viewed every possible yelp photo. Most of the food came fairly swiftly. My vegetarian mother constructed a meal by ordering 3 sides. They forgot her food so she had a long wait. Spoiler alert: many items were subpar at best. The fries were cool, the broccoli was actually cold (like refrigerated) to the touch, the buttered carrots just seemed to be plain slices of lightly steamed carrot that were still crisp. The only food items enjoyed were: --the appetizer nachos (that had bison chili on top). Warning that there are huge slices on jalapeño that were much too spicy for most at our table. --the Avalon burger --onion rings We will be passing through here regularly for at least the next four years, but we will NOT be stopping at this place again. There was a large party in having a birthday dinner and as we were wrapping up, they were complaining about their wait and the service. Tl;dr I do not recommend this place.

I've driven past this place so many times, but never stopped in. Today I decided to give it a try and I was pleasantly surprised. we sat outside since it was a nice day and enjoyed a burger. They do have different options for the meats, such as bison or regular beef, I decided to stick with beef. It was very tasty and I love the fact that you can get half fries, half onion rings. I would definitely come back to try more things on the menu.

We went on a busy Saturday night so service was a bit slow and it took about 40 minutes to get our food. I always order my steak Pittsburgh and they just said they couldn't do it, even asked the cook who said nope. I know it takes certain temp but usually the cook will just try to give a good sear to the meat? The ribeye and NY Strip were good but nothing to write home about. Fries and onion rings were good. The $8 side salads were so disappointing. We had the Cesar and it had grated parm? I've had a better side salad at Applebees. Overall the place was just average and not worth the price point.

Stopped here for lunch on a Monday afternoon since I read great reviews about their gluten free menu. My wife and I shared the Red Rock Sandwich and daughter got a burger. Plates were left clean. Very happy with our food and atmosphere. Our server was great too.

Our server, Rich, is quite exceptional! My grilled shrimp Caesar and my son's bison steak were so fabulous!

I'm writing this review not to express how much I love the Bison at Ted's, which I have since I found out about it. But to say that I had the best service tonight from our waitress Nancy who was on top of everything, properly checked in with us , took care of all our needs and kept our drinks filled. All of this was done with a smile, this is how customer service should be done!!!

Unbelievable food, clean, outstanding service, highly highly highly recommend. The bison meatloaf is crazy good

Stopped in on the way home from a failed auction hunt. Good lively atmosphere at 5 pm on a Sunday. No wait for the table. Server was friendly and the house margarita was a nice start. I liked the salt and pepper onion rings but didn't think much of the horseradish based dip. I ordered the bison tips and my guest ordered a bison burger. The bison tips had fallen off the bone and were juicy. The service was slow for the second margarita and didn't arrive until I was done eating.

Stopped in for a quick dinner at the bar with my boyfriend. We were quickly seated and it wasn't too busy luckily. Food & Drinks: We had the Avalon Burger and the Grilled Chicken with potatoes. The food was great and came out fast! the burger was cooked perfectly and wasn't dry. The broccoli I had with my chicken was weird but it was probably frozen or reheated so i just skipped it. Our drinks were great and they have casamigos at the bar! Service: The bartender served us at the high top. She was great, well attentive, and very nice I love this for a last minute dinner stop or a casual date night out.

Ordered the steak salad, cut of meat was more cheap chuck and poor quality, tough. Waitress kept overfilling glasses or missing glasses so a large part of table was soaking wet, no apologies nor attempts to wipe it up. Asked if wanted the meat boxed and advised her no that is was a bad cut of meat, not sirloin as on the menu. Many other better options especially for the price.

We went to Ted's Montana Grill without any expectations and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is a great mix between casual while still looking upscale with the decorations. We sat at the bar and had incredible service from Rich. He recommended a few drinks and food to try. Unfortunately they were all out of the brisket and short ribs but it gives us reason to come back another time. The bison burgers were great with a variety of sides as an option.

Blue steak salad was large and tasty. Love the complimentary pickles. Service was good.

Service and food was amazing, our waitress K was very attentive and checked in often, the restaurant its self was clean and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for good food and service!

Food is always excellent and service was even better. I was so pleased with my Maureen and the proprietor of the beautiful, clean, great service and everyone is so friendly, including the hostess. I give them 10 stars.

First time at Ted's Montana Grill, the brainchild of Ted Turner, the founder of CNN. The Grill gives you the feeling of being in the "Old West" with all the photos of bison on the walls, red checkered cloth napkins, and butcher's paper on the tables. You start with a bowl of dill cucumber pickles that tastes so salty; they could be charged with aggravated AS-SALT! We figure this clever salt concept is, so you order more to drink. LOL. We split the bacon cheeseburger and cod sandwich. The bacon cheeseburger had the best sauteed onions and was a perfect med rare. I loved the batter on the onion rings. Perfect crispy outer crust. You can order 1/2 onion rings and 1/2 French fries for your side with the burger. Next time I would just go with onion rings. So not a fan of the old frozen to baked tasting French fry. Loved how they brought out 4 ramekins of condiments including horseradish for the onion rings. What? Horseradish dip for onion rings. Yum! The Cod sandwich comes with so much food including a side kale salad and fries. Plan on having leftovers. Loved the caper chive tartar sauce on the cod sandwich and the cracked wheat bun. I will come back again so I can try the bison brisket and short ribs. CUS

What a great first impression! Greeters at the door, and seated immediately. They gave us marinated cucumbers as a snack and were delicious. As appetizer got the store made chips, were amazing. The main dishes were simply great. Got a bison burger. Simply delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The server was a professional, attentive but not pushy. Will be back. Highly recommended

I had dined at Ted's Montana in Atlanta years ago and had a good experience. While in town, I decided to grab a burger. The interior of the restaurant is nice and the server at the bar was very nice. I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, a fried egg and raspberry sauce. I requested the temperature of the burger to be medium, but will came out well done. It was way overcooked and the flavor of the burger just wasn't there. The French fries seemed like they may have been frozen, although the server said they are not. They were very inconsistent and the temperature of the fries varied. I won't be back for a second visit.

Amazing service and food! We had Rich serve us and he was on top of everything. He made the restaurant experience 6 stars. He was very formal but also friendly. The timing of the service was on point. I ordered the brisket short ribs which melted off the bone. My boyfriend ordered the asparagus and It was amazing. We were all very impressed with every aspect. It was an outstanding experience.

This place is an amazing spot. The food is always phenomenal. The pickles are on point. The service is always top-notch. I have never had a bad experience here. The restaurant is very family friendly, but it's also a nice little spot for a date night. The Buffalo meatloaf and burgers are our FAVS!! The chips and dip as an appetizer, as well as the onion rings are definitely our go to as well. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a great night here.

Great food! Fantastic Service. My husband and I stopped in for dinner. After being seated immediately he ordered Ted's Bacon Cheeseburger 50/50 and I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and a side of plain broccoli. Trina was our server and was absolutely fantastic! She gave us complimentary pickles which were crisp and light , not sour at all. Seemingly within moments Trina served our meal. The Caesar salad was delicious, it wasn't a heavy creamy dressing on a the salad- light and flavorful. The grilled shrimp was perfectly grilled and had a smoky flavor and the homemade croutons had the right amount of crunch. My husband enjoyed his burger and onion rings were just the way he liked it. Trina checked on us often and made sure I had enough water. I'm looking forward to returning again and having Trina as our server.

This was the best restaurant meal I've had in a very long time! The food was great and special orders came out perfect. We also had a to go order that was ready on time. Our waiter, Alex was amazing. Attentive but not overbearing. He couldn't have been any better!!! The restaurant was somewhat busy but the atmosphere was calm and quiet. Highly recommend!

Food was ok for the price- we ordered chicken sandwich's -maybe their beef is better? We arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened-11am and were the only ones there for about 30min yet it still took nearly 40 min for the kids chicken tenders and fries to come out. The server was only seen at time of ordering and when food was brought out, even though like I said before we were the only ones there. Refilled water only once. Finally after about an hour we had to ask another server for the check, water refill and box. She never brought it. Our original server finally came back and it still took another 25min to get out of there. Mistake stopping in unfortunately.

Decided to go to Montana for a nice dinner date. First thing's first, the service was subpar. It took a little while to get seated, and then a while to actually get our food after we ordered. On a positive note, our waitress was really nice! As we were seated we were given this free cucumber/pickle salad that was too salty. I ordered the Bison short ribs with caesar salad and 50/50 fries and onion rings as a side. My date ordered the Green and Hot Burger. The Ribs were juicy and tender, but the fries and onion rings rather bland. My date liked the burger. Overall, I'd say this place was an alright experience. I wish their menu was less boring.

My second time here in about a year, I like to drop in when in the area to catch a vibe that reminds me of my trips out west. I usually go for the bison burger. Got there just before 6 on a Saturday evening, the wait was about 25 min for a table but the hostess informed me that the bar area and high tops were up for grabs... was also nice enough to hold a table for me while I went to the restroom.

Great lunch and love the half sours. Service was spectacular during the lunch rush. Restaurant was clean had a great decor.

Celebrity restaurants are notoriously just as vacuous as their namesakes. All I have to do is remember my unfortunate visit to the culinary abyss of Planet Hollywood or consider what a $70 steak seared into ash by Britney Spears short-lived eatery must have tasted like and my gag reflex spasms uncontrollably. It's no wonder everyone in La La Land is anorexic. Celebrity be damned, Ted Turner's Montana Grill is outstanding. Be forewarned, since Ted literally owns half of Montana (the state) you absolutely must like Bison since it seems to be in everything including the cocktails (kidding) but like it you will whether in their incomparable nachos or in my favorite, their brisket - which days later I am still daydreaming on. I may have had a better meal or two along the way but for right now, their memory escapes me. If you're in the area, the CNN founders eponymous restaurant is an inspired choice. And that ain't no fake news.

We stopped in for lunch after a harrowing drive in the pouring rain and light shopping. No starter but we were brought half-sour pickled to munch on... sadly, they were more like heavily salted pickle nuggets with no pucker. Ordered burgers and after quite a wait we were presented with what we ordered. The burgers were cooked right and the fries and rings were hot n crispy... Not a huge crown for a late lunch but despite the chill in the air the decor was interesting and noteworthy. Could def explore other menu items of ever back in the area...

Great Staff, Except the "DAN" Host that Greets you... Walk in & See 11 empty tables that were set, ready to go. I tell him there is 2 in my party. He immediately tells me there is a 20 min. G. T. F. O. !

Rich was a kick ass waiter! He made sure are experience was remembered The bison short rib was incredible fall of the bone. Onion rings were one of a kind with a horseradish aioli!

We went to Ted's in Christiana Delaware this week. My husband had the Bison strip steak and I had the Boson brisket. Both were delicious. Our server.Nancy was professional and friendly. We had a great experience and look forward to our next visit.

Worst service ever. We always come to Montana Grill for a quick bite and drink after shopping. It's usually packed and we are lucky if we can grab a seat at the bar. However, today the bar was pretty empty. We got here and sat down at the bar around 6:20. The bartender ignored us and even came from behind the bar to help the closest customer to us. We can only assume she was trying to avoid eye conduct with us. When she finally came over, she seemed bothered that she had to help us. We finally got our drinks at 6:40. My go to drink, the Newly Fashioned was terrible. When I told her it didn't taste right, she proceeded to tell me what was in it as if I couldn't read the menu. So, I opted for a bottled IPA. It's now 6:48 and she hasn't checked on us at all. Now only 4 people at the bar including us. We had to ask for water 3 times. Not sure what her problem is and last time I checked, these drinks aren't free. I am a 20% plus tipper depending on the service.. At this point she owes me money for my time and aggravation.

2 stars for service, but the food was horrible. The establishment is nice. Place was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. We got there near the end of the night and it wasn't crowded, volume was normal. The bathroom was clean as well. I ordered the bison short rib and sent it back. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were tasteless and the rib just not appetizing. My niece got a burger. She ate it, but want thrilled about it. She said the fries tasted frozen. My husband didn't enjoy his for either, but isn't one to send stuff back. Ultimately ended up having cookies for dinner.

We enjoyed our date night to this restaurant! Our server recommended the shrimp appetizer which was very very good! We decided we had to get bison since that's what the restaurant is known for. I got the Bison brisket with roasted parmesan broccoli and mashed potatoes. The broccoli was barely cooked and also had a gas/char flavor which made me not be able to eat it. I definitely would recommend not getting that and trying one of there other veggies. It was my only time going, so maybe they usually make it different? not sure. My husband enjoyed a bison steak with the 50/50 fries & onion rings. We both really enjoyed our date here and would go back another time. The waitress was very nice! The only knocks were my broccoli and we did stand at the door for a good 5 minutes before the host appeared. Overall, I would recommend trying this place out!

Went to Teds for the first time ever, Will start of saying the food itself was good, although i wish the fries were crispier the flavor was good. The brownie was delicious! Our waiter was very good and attentive. The place was clean and spacious to walk through and was very convenient since I was using crutches.

Hands down one of the best places to get a steak in Newark, DE. A little pricy BUT totally worth it. Also service was fantastic and food came out pretty quick!

Very good food and appetizers. Took six people for dinner and was well under $200! One of them went back later in the month for his bday dinner bc he enjoyed it so much (he had the bison filet both times!). Bison NY strip a little tough, but tasty. The steak salad was raved about. Crab cake appetizer was excellent and so big one woman had it as her entree.

Read the history of Ted's Montana Grill on their website and they will mention Ted Turner as the co-founder of TMG. Is it THE Ted Turner? Just something to think about. And of course, celebrities have opened countless restaurants and establishments (Kenny Rogers Roasters, Tim Horton's, etc.) and they can be hit or miss. So my wife and I had the afternoon free of kids, so we tried out Ted's. I thought it better to try it without the kids because steakhouse bills can add up and the kids may end up eating very little of what we order. In fact, Ted's does have a very reasonably priced kid's menu ($6-$14) with everything from chicken fingers to miniature steaks. They also give complimentary pickles. The server was honest and said some people love them and some people hate them. We're Korean and it tasted like Korean pickles, so we asked for more! As for the steak, my wife ordered a salad with steak on top. I ordered the NY strip. I asked for it between medium rare and medium. It came out in between medium and medium well. We were on a tight schedule (needed to make it to a movie), so I didn't send it back. The taste was excellent (I added bacon garlic butter) and the kale salad and fries/onion rings side were a nice complement to the steak. We ordered in house made lemonade (and the provide free refills). The total bill was around $50, which was pretty reasonable.
