I dug it. Got the brisket and baby back ribs combo plate with the beans and the garlic mashed potatoes. The meat was great! A nice helping of brisket and two big baby back ribs. Garlic mashed potatoes were very good. I'd rate the bbq beans as average. Overall, I dug it and I would go back. Parking is a pain in the butt though. Got mine to go.

The meat was okay but the sauce they "smothered" it in was awful!! All the sides tasted like some cheap store brand prepackaged mess! I couldn't even eat the potato salad. I don't think they make anything in-house except, maybe, the smoked meats. (I only say that because you can smell the smoker & even leave with the smokiness in your hair and clothes). Their iced tea was the best thing we had. We, personally, will not be returning.

The best barbecue in New Orleans! Reminds me of Harold's Texas barbecue back in the day! Ted works his butt off and it really shows in the quality of the food and service

I've eaten here numerous times and I've never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the portions are plentiful. This is one small business that I'm thrilled to support.

We were craving BBQ leaving the airport. Found Ted's on Google and decided to stop. 10/10 food and service. We got our food within like 10 minutes of ordering. I got the smoked chicken, beans and potato salad (YUM). Would definitely recommend!

Omg. What a pleasant surprise! I'm a Texan so I KNOW bbq. This place is by far the best BBQ joint in the greater new orleans area. We shared a Ted's special platter with ribs, brisket, and sausage and potato salad and garlic mashed potato. The sides were pretty good. Like a 8 out of 10. But the stars were the meats! Brisket? Tender AF. Ribs? Flavorful, not fatty, melt in your mouth and had a slight char. The sausage? Babbbyyyyy it was Delicious! Yep I'll definitely be back! I enjoyed it ALL. No frills, just good food and best of all they don't slather sauce on your meat.

The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. I got the combo plate with ribs wish we had stayed in town longer so we could have tried out the other options!

Ted's Smokehouse BBQ has the best BBQ in Jefferson Parish! I've tried all the meats and all the sides, and everything is delicious. We've been eating at Ted's for about two years now and the food is consistently great. The service is prompt and friendly as well. If you've got a craving for some great BBQ, look no further!

This little hole in the wall has become my boyfriend and I's favorite place to go during covid. It's reasonably priced and great BBQ. My favorite is the half chicken and my boyfriend's favorite is the beef brisket and smoked turkey. It truly is my favorite BBQ in the city. Bonus points for offering French fries!! Cheers!

The BBQ brisket here isn't fantastic but its decent and the cole slaw is pretty good. The folks that work here seem really nice. The parking lot for this place is microscopic and has room for just four cars and one handicapped spot. Sadly the BBQ doesn't come close to the Joint but maybe they will keep working on it.

I thought I liked this place but have after getting a HAIR IN MY FOOD for the THIRD time I'm disgusted. I called them and the owner has yet to contact me about it. This is so unprofessional. Frankly, I wouldn't ever go back there again even if they gave me the food for free. If I could give them no stars, I would.

Recently went here for the BBQ of course. First, let me say...the customer service was stellar. It was young lady who helped us (unfortunately I can't think of her name) and she was awesome. Now, on to the food. Maybe we came on an off day but I just think that it was subpar at best. Nothing we ordered came out hot...which can be typical for BBQ but not even the baked beans or corn was hot. The BBQ chicken was also very, very dry. So dry it was obvious just from looking at it. In total, we had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken at the table. The best thing on the table were the ribs. I believe had they been hotter and had the cut of the ribs be a little cleaner I would've enjoyed them more. I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again, just on the hope that they were having an off day the day I came.

The food was tasteless, old potato salad, my wife don't eat and we have to pay for it we ask for lemon to my ice tea, lady told us that they got tire of people ask for lemons that they begin use packs of lemons juice the BBQ was ketchup what a ripoff never again go back to this place

EXCELLENT! My boyfriend always says, "I know you're reviewing this place," if he knows I highly like or dislike an experience, and this was a major 5 stars for me. Craving BBQ after 7pm on a Sunday and finding a place that can accommodate you is really rare. Ted's delivered in so many areas. The service was so extremely great (brunette girl in her 20s) that she actually told us she enjoyed serving us. When was the last time you heard that? The BBQ was so delicious- I had pulled pork and my boyfriend had brisket and ribs, all with a tangy BBQ sauce. I don't eat beans usually, and the baked beans were sweet and yummy. We lived in Kenner before moving to St. Charles Parish, and I regret not trying this place all that time. Now I know where to go for quick and cheap BBQ 7 days a week. I will most certainly be back... P.S. I almost always take photos of my food or the restaurant for reviews, and I didn't even make it that far because I dived in so quickly!

My wife and I were in the mood for some BBQ which there seems to be a lack of in New Orleans! We tried Ted's Smokehouse for dinner one night and it was just about what we were expecting, decent Texas style BBQ. I tried the Ted's special with beef brisket, pork ribs and link sausage with potato salad and baked beans. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw. The dishes were heavy on the BBQ sauce, possibly because the meat was a little dry from being smoked earlier in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience but overall the food was nothing to write home about... it did however satisfy our craving for BBQ.

Best brisket in the area! Great sauce, great beans, great slaw, and THE BEST sausage! Holy hell is it good stuff. Only complaint is that it's a bit on the expensive side, and I've exclusively gotten only takeout. Service is always nice every time I've been. Thanks Ted! Good BBQ in a non BBQ-centric city.

Cute little restaurant, quaint country atmosphere. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Very low energy relaxed place. Between the 6 of us, we tried some of almost everything. The turkey, brisket, and chicken wings were fantastic. Great prices for around here, especially for large families or groups.

Food was passable but not a good value for the price. We did come in at 8p when they were closing at 9 but that's no reason for the old man and old lady in the kitchen to walk back and forth literally yelling about people who come in right before close and ordering. We were, for the record, the only table present in the restaurant. We will not be returning.

Worst BBQ we've ever had... We got the wings and they came out frozen in the middle. She took the wings back and brought out more that were bloody and cold in the middle. The brisket was so dry and cold. The whole meal was cold and dry! Don't waste your money!!!!! THE WORST BBQ IN LOUISIANA!!!!!!

Please don't waste your money on this place. Food tasted old, specially their so called "smoked chicken." I'm giving it one star due to it's one of the few bbqs places near me, but I regret spending $40 here. Ribs and pulled pork were also meh and their corn on the side tasted like it had been more than a day old. Next time I'll hold off on my BBQ cravings.

The half chicken was so over done I took one bite and not another. Even the dark meat was tough! The BBQ beans were good. The smoked sausage was nothing to write home about. The only thing that appeared hot and fresh were the fries. I should of realized everything must have been microwaved when my order was ready in 5 mins and the food was not piping hot like freshly prepared food should be. Go to Dickeys BBQ in Metairie the food is way better meaning it's fresher and not microwaved! Ted u should be ashamed of ur self!

The most awesome ribs ever..The ribs are fat free and fall of the bone.We got the privilege of meeting the owner who was there cooking ..Great family place I recommend you go eat and take the fam..very good prices for BBQ

This wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was quick and convenient and quite honestly, I didn't want to spend a whole lot of time figuring out what I was really in the mood for. With that being said, I've had way better. The beans were delicious and the cole slaw was good. The beef brisket could have a better smokey flavor to it and the BBQ sauce seemed like a kraft blend out of the bottle. It was edible, but I'm not sure I'd choose it again. We ordered take out, but the dining room was small and intimate. Not especially appealing. I would opt for takeout if you decide to give this place a whirl. It was clean, but nothing special. The girl at the register was friendly and had a smile on her face. I would say try it. I can see the reviews haven't been great but it's just an average place with okay food.

It does not deserve star. Meet was not fresh. After 15min my stomach started pain. Ted was rudest guy ever. Especially if you are foreigner please stay away from this place because obviously he does not like us.

We've gone there quite a few times now. The smoked turkey sandwich, onion rings and sausage are also VERY good. Service is great and fast. My main problem has been the amount of BBQ sauce that is used. I definitely need get it on the side. It's too much and too tangy. It takes away from the smoked flavor.

I took my friend Pete to get some BBQ. He has spent time in Texas and Georgia so he knows his BBQ. The parking is for about 5 cars and the place is small. It has a "small town" feel when you enter. Painted paneling and a deer head. The people were very friendly and the service was fast. Between the two of us we had the Ribs, brisket, pulled pork and sausage. We also had Mac and Cheese and Baked Beans. I would classify the food as average. Nothing great but nothing bad. The Ribs were the best thing we had and they could have held the sauce. It was a little bland and thick. When we finished we stayed and talked for a while. The workers continues to check on us and allowed us to enjoy our stay. We both have high standards for BBQ and this place while ok for NOLA doesn't stack up to our BBQ travels from around the country.

What sucks here is the parking. What is awesome here- everything else! Love staff the homemade BBQ Sause is super. The beef brisket melts in your mouth and I love the chicken wings. Yep I like it here! Who knew such great BBQ in Kenner

Just pick up some BBQ for the 1st time at Ted's Smokehouse. Food was AWESOME! Ordered pulled pork sandwich, sliced brisket plate, bake beans and coke slaw!! We will definitely be back!

This is one of my regular go-to's for a quick bite. The briscit and pulled-pork are fantastic! Sides are a little weak, but I do recommend the coleslaw. Be advised, the credit/debit card minimum is $10, so if you're dinning solo expect to pay in cash.

If you're looking for good barbecue in the Kenner/Metairie area, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY and DON'T go here! My boyfriend and I went here for lunch only to receive mediocre service and terrible food. The half chicken was just plain old chicken with store-bought bbq sauce on top (not even spread over it- literally just a blob of sauce), the baked beans and potato salad were also clearly store-bought and had lack-luster flavor. The brisket and ribs were just as bad and even more over-priced. First time I've ever gotten a doggie bag that was actually going home for the dog...

Wow what a find! The ribs rock! Cute little place that does BBQ well. It's pork ribs but they are big and meaty with a nice sauce with a little tang.

I enjoyed the beef brisket platter, but I found the different portions a little small. I wish they would have been a bit bigger, because I could have eaten a great deal more. The wings are great dish to start with your meal with along with the ranch dressing. Otherwise great food, just wish the portions were bigger.

This place is a Pure dive, ribs were good, meaty and not over cooked. I would eat here again.

Kind of a quaint place. Server was quick, but food took a little longer than I would expect given we were the only ones in the place at the time. Had the pulled pork and brisket - both were good. Husband had those plus a couple ribs, and said the meat fell off the bones. Had baked beans and potato salad for sides - both were average. Daughter had garlic mashed potatoes, which was quite good. Overall, probably would rate 3.5 stars if I could half stars, but since waitress was attentive and friendly, decided to round up instead of down.

We were in New Orleans yesterday and stumbled across Ted's Barbeque... Read a few of the other reviews which were mixed. There is nothing mixed about this review... Our meal was delicious! Had the Smoked Turkey platter with the garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans. My mouth is still watering! The Smoked Turkey had a oh-so-flavorful ring of goodness around it. I had never seen this on Turkey before! The beans were outrageous, with chunks of meat trimmings in them, and the garlic mashed potatoes had that perfect blend of savory and creaminess. Talking with Ted and some of the other customers was a treat too. Loved our lunch so much, I purchased a Smoked Turkey Sammich to go for the plane ride home!

Got the brisket plate and everything was delish!!! Melt in your mouth good :)

I give them 3 stars because I think they are a overpriced, and their parking is terrible.

This is an awesome place to eat. I am a New Orleans Native and love BBQ. My girlfriend and I came by for lunch on a recommendation from her boss. The food is GREAT. From the moment I walked in and got the smokey smell, I knew we were in the right spot. Food is awesome just the right amount of sauce and full of that great smokey flavor. We also met Mr. Ted who came out and gave us the full story on how he smokes his amazing food. Great people and great food, what more could you ask for.

Went here over the weekend, so excited because have heard nothing but good things. Its small which I like and local which I love. One dining room lots of take out and one waitress. When my order came to me not as I expected I asked for certain things to be removed only to have attitude from the waitress. Then she not only brought it out again incomplete, but the owner came by and insisted with me that it was correct. Needless to say after all of the turmoil the entire restaurant knew what was going on and then my friend overheard her in the kitchen bad mouthing me. When I told her that I didnt appreciate her attitude she was almost harassing. I just wanted to try a restaurant. She offered to remove it from the bill or remake it. I told her to remake it and box it that I wanted to leave and of course lost my appetite. So we still paid for it! Can you believe that? That's ok, her tip definitely reflected our disappointment. So sad cause the food was actually not bad.

Didn't like this place at all. The sauce wasn't good and it ruined it for me.

I really enjoyed the food here. Good food and great service. The only down fall to this place is that the parking lot is very very small.

Small portions, over-priced, brisket was overdone (it should NOT break apart easily in the plate) sausage was good, mac and cheese was good... I'm still hungry,I guess that's what I get for eating BBQ east of the Sabine river.

Started with fresh onion rings then had the 'Ted' combo,FANTASTIC! Everything was hot & delicious and served in a timely fashion by an attentive staff! Ribs my favorite,going back for more....even though I have to travel bout 9 miles to get there,worth da drive!

3 1/2 stars. Not bad BBQ for New Orleans. I like mine a little smokier but I am heavy on the smoke when I do my own. I think most people will like the level of smoke flavor though. The sauce tastes like it's bottled or something, kind of non-descript. The slaw is plain and not very tasty. The garlic mash potatoes were really good. TONS of garlic! The pulled pork and the ribs were way too salty for my taste but I don't really care for salt. Even though, I think most would call this too salty. Maybe they were just a little heavy handed with the rub that day because no other reviews mentioned salt. The brisket was moist and tender. Way better than I have ever made it. I will go back but will probably stick to the brisket. Some of the best I have had, at least here in the NOLA area.

Really good. I was a little concern from reading some of the reviews; but was pleasantly surprise. The server was lovely and the food tasty. The sauce; I agree, ask for it on the side. It can use some work but is not bad. The sides can use some work as well. The beans were delicious but the Mac and cheese not so much. All and all pretty, pretty good. The ribs were delicious and the brisket was yummy! We will definitely come back

Best BBQ in whole greater New Orleans area. If your hungry for BBQ and you don't eat here your doing yourself a great disservice. Better than you can make at your house

Great barbecue and sides. Best we've had in Louisiana. Plenty of seating inside, tiny parking lot. Fast service. Go there.

Thought it was pretty good! Don't know what the so-so reviews are about. The only thing somewhat negative i can say is that the portions are small.

Will never go back. Went with my family and the owner came in drunk. Not a good sign. Ribs were dried out I quess from sitting in a warmer all day. Sauce tasted like cattlemans with onions but he insists it is his own sauce. I think the mashed potatoes were made with water. There are much better places to go for BBQ. The waitress was really nice but ai could tell she was aggravated with her boss being drunk as much as I was.
