An Eater’s Guide to the Best Food and Wine in Idaho’s Snake River Valley | Eater

"A Greenbelt tasting room founded by a husband-and-wife team that draws packed patios (often with dogs) and features experimental and approachable wines like the 2020 Aman II “Clash” (a gruner Veltliner–viognier blend with tangerine and tropical notes) and the Turas bottling, with cozy firepits on cooler days." - Amanda Gabriele

BEST! Wonderful winery on the Boise River greenbelt. Delicious, refreshing wines. Sparkling, Rose, Whites, and Reds are all packed with flavor and love. Great picturesque setting, views, people watching, and conversations. The owners and team members are welcoming and kind. Must go when in the area. Excellent all around.

Google
Love the wine and location, specially the rose’ cinsault and all the Idaho red blends. So surprised with the quality and excited to see how the wine culture grows here. Just as important though were the people here. Josh made our day taking about the wine and the local flavor and Austin telling us about specific blends. Thanks Josh for making our tasting session amazing!! 👍🏻❤️🍷 B&T

I thought the wine was alright… however, on 3 occasions, each time different servers were rude and the last blond server was so terribly disrespectful. Although I usually only leave positive reviews. I’m voicing these interactions.. it’s spoiling my experience with potentially a good wine. I won’t be bringing friends or frequenting this establishment. Management should be aware and ashamed of how their employees are treating customers. I believe in treating others as you want to be treated. I have left each experience here with negative feelings though attempting to let them go in hopes of a better second and third round. If I recounted these in detail, it would be hard to choke down. Once is a misunderstanding or a bad day. Two is questionable but three is inexcusable. ****Added Reply - I shouldn’t have expected any better treatment from management. That after reading my review should have apologized. But instead excuses, falsifies and misidentifies the customer, the entire situation. If you and your people treat customers with a smile and kindness, you will see endless repeat customers. I hope you figure it out and stop twisting your issues around to accommodate a false narrative. Your own weakness betrays your family business. I would fire you on the spot.

Cece was amazing! I don’t care for super dry wine and she went above and beyond to help me find something I love! The ambiance is worth the visit alone! Being family and pet friendly is just an added bonus! I loved the blankets and firepits with the view of the river. Will definitely become a regular place for me to visit! There was a food truck and they brought your food to you! The whole thing was fantastic! Don’t question this is a must place to visit!!

Google
Without a doubt the absolute best winery in all of Idaho. We fell in love with Telaya when we first tried it at Chandler's Restaurant. We have been frequent vistors and members ever since. Everything about this place is first class and our favorite server is Austin (though they are all great)...Keep up the phenomenal work!

Google
This is a local winery in town that sits on the edge of the Boise river that runs through Boise. They have a beautiful facility and the outside patio and seating is beautiful in the warmer weather. We enjoyed our time there sipping some very good wines.

Google
Peaceful sitting area outside to watch the football traffic by the water while sipping wine. I have to admit the chocolate with sea salt was my favorite.

Fabulous Sunday afternoon celebrating our 41st anniversary. Serendipitously happened to be the day Douglas Cameron was playing. Loved every minute of it. Good wine, beautiful setting, amazing music... definitely recommend.

Yelp
The staff is amazing, excellent service and so friendly! You cannot beat the location or ambience right on the river. The food truck there is fast and provides a few options but they are all good. Live music is often playing - such a great vibe.

Yelp
Thank you Lauren for taking care of us on our vacation! She was very knowledgeable about the entire collection and accommodated my girlfriend with a sample of one of the sweeter wines. She didn't end up liking the wine, but really loved the sparkling hard cider that Lauren ended up choosing for us. Amazing experience, and the Boise greenbelt being our backdrop certainly helped! FYI, all of the wines in the summer flight are pretty dry, but not so much that they're unpalatable. I personally didn't end up buying a bottle, but it could be someone else's cup of tea!

Yelp
Location, location, location. Best riverfront/greenbelt frontage and outdoor patio around. Friendly, helpful servers. Best part of the service was that they have sunblock available for patrons. Saved this unprepared, fair skin fellow. Only down side to this establishment is the lack of a kitchen/food. There's always food trucks or other stops along the paths.

Yelp
With a beautiful view of the view of the Boise River and Green Belt, this is a fantastic spot to people watch and enjoy some fantastic wine with friends! Super casual, with a food truck right outside that can deliver to you without having to leave your seat, I couldn't have asked for anything more!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was lacking but the ambiance and service was great and the wine flight was just perfect pours.

Yelp
LOVE this winery for its wines but also for its location. It is on the greenbelt and has a lovely outdoor area with lawn and plenty of tables and chairs and Adirondack seating on the lawn. It's so nice to go for even just a quick glass of wine, as you enjoy the company of others, grab a light snack and just people watch as ambitious athletes run and bike the trail. I prefer being on this side of the fence drinking their sparkling wines and listening to the water move past. The service is always welcoming and friendly and you're able to seat yourself rather than wait for placement. Go find your perfect seat and just enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings.

Yelp
Great wine and great service! Outdoor patio area is very nice right by the river, great ambiance and I can't say enough about the service

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviews Telaya winery yet. This is a great Treasure Valley find. The vibe is awesome with lots of seating but the best part is sitting in the Boise River bike trail and enjoying all the beauty of the Boise River and people watching. They have lots of shaded areas as well so your bait in the direct sun. Staff here is pretty awesome and every time we have left we have left 100% satisfied. The staff has great wine knowledge and the only thing I wish this had more of is locally Idaho grown grapes. For food they have light tapa options and for us we always like splitting the charcuterie option served in an ice cold chilled container to keep cold. A little pricey for what you get but it's a perfect snack while wine tasting. I have nothing bad to say about any of their wines and have enjoyed both the reds and whites. I would highly recommend this place to anyone whether local or not. This is a very cool spot to hang out and enjoy all Boise has to offer.

Yelp
As a woman of color, (I'm black) this is my first time in Idaho. I'm 25. And went on a solo trip to see the mountains (I'm from Texas ) I wanted to do something I've never done. TikTok warned me that Idaho wasn't BPF (black ppl friendly) my Airbnb host was awful kind. (Joseph) I came to this winery and I was the only black woman- which didn't bother me honestly. I came alone, I was asked twice if I was meeting somewhere; which is fine. However- I was treated seemingly no different than anyone else here. Service was quick, the lady (sorry I didn't get your name! ) and Garrod were awful hospitable and tremendously kind. From the phone call I gave to make sure the TikTok itinerary I saw was accurate, to the smiles at the door! I enjoyed my solo date 10,000%. I didn't order any food due to me having plans elsewhere proceeding this however- Ima 25 year old black woman im not finna lie on these folk internet! I 100% RECOMMEND TELAYA WINERY! Thank you all so much for the elite hospitality and pleasant ambiance.

Yelp
My husband and I were riding Lime scooters along the greenbelt and came across this winery. I knew we had to stop by! The patio is just perfect. Spacious, Adirondack chairs and fire pits, grassy areas, views of the river, right next to the trail, lots of sunshine. We came right when they opened at noon on a Friday. The atmosphere gets 5 stars, but the wine and service get more like a 3-4. Not much service is needed when just having wine. But I was kind of surprised that our server just brought out my white wine flight, handed me a paper that told me about each wine, then left. I've done many wine tastings and much prefer when the staff talk about each wine, where the grapes are grown, what makes the wines on the flight different, personal opinions on them, etc. There was nothing to the service except delivering the wine to us and checking on us once or twice. I wish it had been more personal and informational! The wines themselves were pretty average, I didn't feel the need to buy a bottle. I enjoyed having a flight of all white wines though. The best one was the Viognier in my opinion! The flight was $20 for 4 pours which wasn't bad. My husband got a glass of red wine, the Tempranillo. He said it was the lightest red they had which I thought still tasted quite bold. He said it grew on him the more he drank it, but still not a huge fan. Despite the wine itself being pretty average in our opinion, we had such a lovely time hanging out on their patio! It's the perfect place to be on a sunny Spring day.

Yelp
I think I might be a little spoiled, being from near Napa Valley, so I was a little unimpressed with the wine (I'm so sorry!!). But, me and my girlfriends had a nice little visit here one afternoon. We stayed for a couple glasses of wine and some bites of food. We didn't care for the food, but might have just been what we chose. Service was quite slow, but might have been due to the crowd level. All-in-all, our visit was FINE. I probably wouldn't suggest it to out-of-towners, though.

Yelp
Who would have guessed that Idaho has a wine region and lovely wine tasting rooms? Not me! But yes they certainly do make wine in Idaho and its pretty darn tasty as well! Telaya Wine company tasting room was a short scenic stroll from our hotel overlooking the Boise River. The winery itself was just lovely inside and out. On the day we visited the weather was just perfect to sit outside on their very nice patio area. We consider ourselves as somewhat wine snobs as we live in one of California's wine country areas, with access to Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino wineries at our finger tips. Telaya shattered our air of superiority with the first sip of their lovely wines! We tried both the mixed flight and the red flight and were impressed with the quality and taste of the wines. We wanted to buy some to take home, but we didn't bring a wine suitcase with us, as we didn't expect to do any wine tasting in Idaho, of all places. Bummer since the airline we travelled with lets you check up to case of wine free.Ugh! Oh well, now we know, and will plan better on our next trip to Idaho. Service was friendly and welcoming. Our wine ambassador (shout out to Austen M..) was very knowledgeable about the wines he poured and gave us an introduction into their wine region and varietals grown. The total experience would rival any wine tasting in California. So, now you know that Idaho produces fine wines at prices that don't break the bank, I might add. I high!y recommend you add Telaya to your itinerary when visiting the Boise area. You will be pleasantly surprised, like we were, I am sure of it!

Yelp
Are you kidding me with theee kiddie pools for your feet?! This place is amazing! Also- Joshua helped us and he was amazing setting everything up and making our experience one of the best. This our go to spot for a lazy or cozy Sunday.

Yelp
Probably one of my favorites of the wineries we went to while we were visiting. We sat on the patio and enjoyed wine flights. I ended up purchasing 2 bottles to have shipped to me. Shipping wasn't outrageous and the wine arrived to my home safely. Service was quick and they even made sure we had blankets since it was a bit chilly by the water. This set the standard for wineries we visited while in the area. Would absolutely return here. The red wines were fabulous.

Yelp
This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! We stumbled upon this cute place while on our walk around the Greenbelt. The outdoor patio is so nice with views of the Boise River. Our server Heather was great, super friendly. We had mimosas that were great. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has such a cute vibe! A girlfriend and I were in town and walked to this winery on a Sunday. It was filled with people enjoying the great weather and listening to the live music. There is a pathway between the winery and river that adds to the ambiance. Their flight consisted of mainly whites and we both prefer refs so we went with a glass. Both tasted great! There was a food truck serving food - they had a burger that I didn't see listed when I checked out their IG. I wish there was more details on the menu as we opted to eat before since what we saw originally didn't jive with what we wanted. Overall, loved the vibe and if I'm back in Boise plan to come back!

David N.

Yelp
Went there yesterday for the first time, and I loved it. Don't remember what we ate, but it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic, the wait staff were very friendly and helpful, and there's no tipping. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
Love this place. Amazing location right on the river with a big patio, friendly, super helpful staff, great wines! Highly recommend.

Yelp
First stop on our Girl's Weekend trip. Great ambience, wonderful wine & our Wine Ambassador, Heather, who was so attentive & wonderful! Could not have asked for a better experience!

Yelp
Wine, people, location all amazing! Heather was awesome! Highly recommend if you like good wine and great service.

Yelp
We enjoyed our visit at Tenaya Wine! Nice wines and friendly people. The staff is awesome. They welcomed us and our dog on a rainy afternoon and even gave us a quick tour of their operation. We will be back!

Yelp
Very upscale winery right on the Blair river walk. We came for a food truck (shout out to Crisp!) and we sat inside to enjoy our food. They brought us fancy glass bottles of water and offered a tasting flight or glass of wine. We didn't have time to sit so we got a bottle of wine to go as a gift. This place was crowded (in a good way!), very lively, and you can tell they value their customers. We will be back to try a wine flight, they make all of the wine there at the winery.

Yelp
My wife and I were riding bikes on the Green Belt and came across Telaya Winery. The place is beautiful and the view is fantastic sitting outside. We only had one glass of the Chardonnay but it was very tasty. The service was great and they're all friendly and helpful. Stop in if you're in the area it's a great spot to sip some good vino.
google avatar

Yelp
What an amazing place. My husband and I went there for our first time today to celebrate our anniversary. The patio is incredible and their wines fabulous. Our waiter Austin was amazing. Very knowledgeable about their wines and a breath of fresh air. If there was more Austin's in the service industry there would be many many happy patrons. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I have always enjoyed coming to this winery. they have a beautiful spot right on the green belt with the river steps away and they have recently expanded their patio to include all the green space. it's kind of silly the way it's set up because they have this giant rock ditch in the middle but they figured out how to set up chairs around it with umbrellas. they made the best of what they had. we came on a saturday mid day and they sat us right away in a cozy spot outside. plenty of shade and it was good people watching seeing all the passerby's on the green belt. I started with a glass of rosè that was lovely. full bodied but also light and crisp. it was perfect for the warm day. after that I had a glass of the malbec which was also lovely. the server was friendly and very attentive despite the fact that they were pretty busy that day. we never had empty glasses, which is always a plus. if you want to go to a winery inside boise, I prefer this one and cinder.

Yelp
Stopped in for an afternoon tasting while visiting family in Boise. I loved the outdoor seating area and general relaxed vibes of this place. The wine flights were reasonably priced and we liked a couple of reds so much that we bought a few bottles on our way out! Highly recommend for a taste of Idaho wine right in Boise!
google avatar

Yelp
Great wine. Great service And a beautiful setting by the river. You really have a relaxing time.

Yelp
Probably one of the most beautiful spots in Boise to have a glass of wine. Nicole was very accommodating and informative.

Yelp
Was at Telaya on Saturday with friends for the first time. Richard was our host and he was absolutely amazing! I'm from California and belong to several wine clubs in the Napa Valley Region and Richard by far was better than anyone from the Napa Region. He was personable, fun and very knowledgeable! We drank delicious wine and learned so much and laughed lots! Cheers Telaya and thanks Richard for the best experience

Mike A.

Yelp
The wine was great and our server was awesome! We enjoyed the view of the Boise, but they could use some misters to keep the outside cooler. It was hot and the ceiling fans were not enough. We will go back again for sure.
google avatar

Sara F.

Yelp
This is a great location, beautiful view of the river, and great service! They are very knowledgeable and spent time sharing wine tasting tips with my niece who had just turned 21. I learned a lot too!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing place! Awesome view, but the service was the best and what set it apart. Tasty little cheese board and the local wines from ID and WA were superb. Highly recommended, great deal, and 5 star. Enjoy!

Yelp
As soon as I rolled up, I knew I had made the right decision in coming here. I had been on a mission to get some wine the last few days and with all of the vineyards being too far away for a Lyft ride, I decided to come here. On the ride over, it seems to be in an almost industrial area right off of the freeway but after arriving, I saw that it was right on the Greenbelt, next to the river and a very nice trail. The place was packed and it was a gorgeous day and I wanted to sit outside, though in the shade. There were not spots outside so I was taken inside and sat at a large, empty table that was obviously being set aside in case a larger group came. Lucky for me I got there first. I was seated and within 30 seconds a woman came over and told me she would move me outside. I was happy and got up but she took me to a spot in direct sunlight and said the sun would go behind the building in 20 minutes. I contested this and she then moved me back to my table saying it was only for large groups but I could sit there. She seemed quite annoyed by this but which was very off-putting but to make up for it she gave a me a full, complimentary glass of wine which was extremely nice of her. When my waitress came, I ordered a flight and found out you could only choose out of 5 wines for your flight of 4. I asked if it was possible to try another one off of their other menu and she said normally no, but she was happy to oblige which again, was very kind and scores high marks in my book. The wines were all very tasty and the environment was very nice to sit in. Huge windows looked on to their patio and though you couldn't see the river, you could see plenty of trees and greenery and people enjoying their weekend. I would definitely recommend coming here, especially on a day when the weather is lovely.

Yelp
Our first time at Telaya was today for our anniversary celebration and it certainly won't be our last! The ambiance is unbeatable right by the river and the service was incredible as well, not to mention the delicious wine! We will def be regulars and the wine club is a great deal to consider too! Love this place
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Experience! Our first time visiting Telaya, and we had a fantastic time. We ordered a bottle of their Pinot Grigio which was spectacular and the customer service was exceptional! We also ordered a charcuterie board, and it included several different great tasting cheeses! We found the premises to be extremely clean inside and out! The staff was courteous, attentive and ensured all tables and chairs were thoroughly sanitized. The owner, Earl introduced himself and provided us with the history of Telaya Wines. Plenty of parking is available very close to the tasting room. Keep up the good work! We will be back soon!

Izzy J.

Yelp
This was place a great place to grab some wine and taste some local brands. Nicole was amazing and really made this experience so much better. Their wine selection is amazing and the location is un-beatable. We will be returning very shortly!

Yelp
Really convenient to bike or electric scooter to on the green belt. Outside seating area is literally right on the green belt and provides nice views and constant entertainment. Entrance is outside and one way only during Covid. Masks are required when not at your table. Exit is inside and one way only. Nice sign that offers free parking overnight and phone numbers for cab service. This is probably "cover your butt", but it was really nice to see. Inside bar is where you would normally order from, however you order at your table during COVID-19. Nice clean restrooms inside. Separate men and women's restrooms. Wine flight fall selection was $18 for three 3oz pours. Seems like a fair price for such a nice place. You can also buy bottles for your table and this may be less expensive for a larger party. This was my first time here and service was really good from David. There is a QR code on the table to link to the current menu and pricing. Food truck out front: We ordered the Wagyu hamburger add a second patty for $2 and Rosemary sea salt fries. Fries were ok, but a small portion for $5 and I wouldn't get them again. Burger was excellent and $10+2=$12. I'd just get that next time and try something else too.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Love their wine. Love the atmosphere. Love the location. But... every time I'm there, when let them know I'm done ordering it takes uncomfortably long to get the bill and pay. Give yourself 30 minutes from the time you let them know you're done until you want to be out the door.
google avatar

Marie I.

Yelp
great setting, friendly staff. Had a great time hanging with my friend here.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! Grab a few pals and make your way to Telaya. Bring some snackies or chance there is a food truck available. Grab a blanket and cozy up next to a fire or heater and watch the people that are out and about on the greenbelt. In the warmer months, sit on the patio and watch the river come to life. (Patio heaven alert!) Not only is this setup preeeemo for people watching, mingling, and relaxing, it is also preeeemo for grabbing a fantastic wine (by glass or bottle) or a beer (limited selection). The employees are fantastic and know people there by name. They roam around, mingle, and deliver a drink if your glass is empty. Like magic! Poof, full glass! Such a relaxing and fun setting.

Yelp
We have been Telaya members and devotees since they were in a shared building with two other wineries on the other end of Garden City. We joined their wine club because of the flexibility of choices AND the tasting experiences Earl and Carrie offer. Even during Covid Telaya offered a variety of tasting opportunities that were safe and fun. We started out in the smallest wine club membership and have moved up. We are considering the highest of the three memberships because their wine is so yummy! Their wine, it goes without saying, is fabulous. But even more is the sense of family and kinship that Earl and Carrie extend not only to their employees, but to their customers. At one point we were going through some hard times and Carrie offered to come help us.....how amazing is that? I absolutely believe she would have come, she wasn't just talking. I have also attended Earl's talks about the wine. He is normally a quiet man who absolutely glows when he speaks about his wine. Anyone who puts that much heart and soul into a product has to be a great guy, but also a great guy who makes great wine. Today when we were doing a tasting for our allotment we tried to tip our wine steward. She politely declined and explained that they were well compensated and did not need to take a tip. She said if we wanted to do anything...leave a review. I could go on and on about Telaya. Our daughter worked for them while she was in high school washing wine glasses. When we go in it is like visiting a friend.....who makes great wine! Do not hesitate to get to know not only Telaya, but the people there. It is all amazing!

Yelp
Finally, finally made it to one of the Cigar Nights at Telaya. For $25 you get a glass of wine of your choice, including wines from other than Telaya, amd a good cigar. Cigars are provided by Sturman's Smoke Shop. He brings a pretty good selection of 6-7 cigars that range from mild to strong and sizes. I enjoyed a Fuentes Casa Cuba Flor Fina this evening and a Snake Valley Malbec. There were probably over 40 aficionados there and about 8-10 smokers were women. The winery only holds these cigar nights in the summer starting at 7 PM. The next and last one for the year is Sept. 17, 2019.

Yelp
Nice setting, comfortable seating, kind & attentive service, great wine & good pricing. Enjoyed a peaceful Wednesday midday happy hour. Also, enjoyed one the the charcuterie boxes -- it was fresh.

Yelp
The best thing about this tasting room is the location. It is right along the Boise River in a great big warehouse. We went on a hot July day and the patio was perfect. Right on the river, fully shaded with water available at all times. Our service was fast and courteous. I did the tasting...3 1oz pours for only $5! The Chardonnay was my favorite but the reds were also good. I wish they had more options for their tastings. I prefer white and it was kind of a bummer to drink red wine in 97 degree weather. HOT! The other reason why this is a 4 star review was the lack of guidance from the staff. We would have liked to ask questions and show our wine newby cards a little more.
google avatar

Rachael F.

Yelp
My FAVORITE wine spot along the river. Beautiful ambiance with plenty of space indoors and outdoors. Absolutely delicious wine that's is crafted with care and with the utmost respect for the process and product. Truly exceptional wine. They offer wine by the glass, various tasting menus and wine by the bottle. They often have food trucks and you can bring in your own food as well. They do have graze boxes (ex. cheese & crackers) for sale too. They also do a variety of fun events (I just did wine & floral arrangements!) and also do charitable events & fundraisers throughout the year. They do have space for private events and offer additional experiences like tours and behind-the-scenes wine making! Cheers, you won't regret stopping by for a glass (or two!)

Yelp
The experience was great. Got to bring our puppy and enjoy the great food, wine, and beer. Thanks to Heather for the great hospitality.

Yelp
It is typically bitter-sweet when things change, but in this case we can celebrate just the sweet for all the people involved! As of May 1, Coiled Winery which shared the Telaya Wine tasting room owned by Telaya winemakers Carrie and Earl Sullivan, has moved out to move on to two new tasting rooms (one in Garden City and one downtown) to open later this month. Sweet progress for Coiled and Telaya both. Because now Telaya has all of the production and barrel space for their own use, needed as their remarkably good wines continue to grow in popularity, and the entire tasting room to spread out in as well, as Coiled moves because popularity of its' wines mean they needed more room too. (See Coiled's Yelp listing for the new tasting room info.) To acknowledge this change, Telaya hosted a "Solo Flight" tasting today and we met friends there to sample three wines. One, their new white blend, Anam, will be available to buy at the winery at Spring release later this month. A good choice for warm weather sipping. In the light of "membership has its' privileges", along with the Spring Release of wines later this month only wine club members will have a chance to buy the new Sauvignon Blanc. We're looking forward to it. You might consider membership too! We are big fans of Telaya's wines, the nice people who work in the tasting room (a special shout out to Heather who always makes us feel like family), the Sullivans and the beautiful space right on the river. We who live in Boise are very fortunate to have a first class winery and tasting room so close at hand. See earlier review for details.

Yelp
Had a nice afternoon here. The wines we all tried were excellent and our server, Riley, was awesome.

Yelp
Telaya is awesome! Some of you grouchy-pants need hugs. Giving Telaya a negative review for customer service is HILARIOUSLY misguided and inaccurate. More on that later in the review... This review has nothing to do with the way their wines taste. For what it's worth, I really enjoy their wines. But wine enjoyment is so subjective, and I am not qualified or sophisticated enough to tell you why I like their wines. I just do.... My wife and I have been going to Telaya since we moved to Boise in 2017. From day one, I was impressed. Their staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and FUN. Their building is clean, temperature-controlled, inviting, and comfortable. The property is right on the greenbelt, and there is an amazing outdoor area -- great for people-watching, nature-watching, and relaxing while enjoying a glass or two of wine. One of my favorite aspects of Telaya is how pet and kid-friendly it is. Usually there is a collection of happy dogs and happy families enjoying the outdoor area. I couldn't speak more highly of the staff (which includes the owners). Everyone involved in this business is so friendly and accommodating. Watching them hustle around the property taking care of the various patrons makes me smile. They have been so good to my wife and I over the years. They are engaging, efficient, and (again) fun! We always walk away from Telaya with a smile. Unless you have been living under a rock, we are all aware that the world of customer service has been tricky to navigate over the past year. I couldn't be more proud of the Telaya team (from the top-down) on how they navigated what amounts to the toughest retail restrictions that I can recall in my lifetime (I'm 42). During the past year, we went to Telaya often. I am so thankful that the ownership and staff provided a safe and comfortable place to enjoy ourselves in a world that felt unsafe and uncomfortable. Looking over some of these negative reviews, I am so confused as to why a very vocal minority are taking issue with Telaya's handling of Covid. Your writings indicate that you think that the Telaya team enjoyed having to put restrictions on how people experience their winery/tasting room. I can assure you that they didn't. Telaya is a family-friendly environment. The staff interacts with one another like a family. They treat their patrons like family. They have spent the past year operating their business in the best way they can manage in order to protect their "family." I highly doubt that this was political for them. They followed the guidelines given them to protect their staff and patrons. They took extra care to ensure that they could continue to operate and provide the best environment possible. They were kind, respectful, and thoughtful. I can't tell you how many times at Telaya over the past year, I got out of my seat without my mask on -- I am forgetful and thoughtless sometimes (often). The staff was so kind in the way that they reminded me to please put my mask on (trust me, their reminders to me were much kinder than my wife's). I highly doubt they liked having to be the mask police, but they had to ensure that their business stayed open to provide income for their staff and a great place for us to enjoy their wines. As a member of the Boise community, I am immensely proud of the way that the Telaya team has handled themselves. Their staff should be commended for the grit, grace, and smiles that they brought to a really difficult time in the world. I am proud to be a part of the Telaya "family", and would strongly encourage anybody to wander off the greenbelt, grab a seat, order some wine, and make some friends at Telaya.
