Been here 3 times in search of the mythical focaccia I keep hearing about, each time arriving around 7:30am. First time, it wasn't going to be ready until after 9:30am. The second time, I was able to get there around 10:30, only to find out it was all sold out. This last visit led to an interesting interaction with the owner, and not in a good way. I mentioned that I had come there just for the focaccia. She said that it wouldn't be coming out until around 8:30. I then asked, "Why so late?", to which she replied,"If it's not ready, it's not ready. " She then asked if I wanted anything else & I said no. Normally, with a response like that, I'd snap back & then leave. I instead chose to look at the menu once more & try to support the business by ordering a drink, which I didn't do in the 2 previous visits. After picking the most expensive drink on the menu (iced pandan coconut milk) and paying for it (plus tip, even after that previous comment), the owner then remarks "that's inconsiderate...I wouldn't walk in a bakeshop & say that". I explained that I work graveyard shift, so that was indeed late for me, not necessarily for you. She promptly made my drink, which I thanked her for & left. The drink... a solid 9/10. The experience... not so much. First of all, it says Telescope COFFEE, not bakery, bakeshop, or patisserie, so the fact that she considered it a bakeshop was news to me, as there are only about a half dozen baked items being offered on any given day. Second, this is the first time I've been to a self- proclaimed bakeshop that doesn't have all of their offerings available the minute the doors open, whether those items have to "proof" or not. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but this one soured me on spending any more dough.
