81 London Restaurants Keeping ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ Discounts Going Into September

"Steaks are the Jones Family specialty, both at their original spot in Shoreditch and at their more spacious venue in Belgravia. They’re both applying the EOTHO rules throughout September." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak

Found this restaurant when we were in the area and so glad we managed to get a table as the food was incredible. Our favourites were the cheeseburger tacos and sweet and sour pork rib. Delicious. The restaurant has a dark cool vibe with great service.

Nothing quite says Valentine’s Day like a 40 minute wait for your table. But that was what happened to us. We had a 9 pm booking and when we arrived there was a queue out the door. We were quite confused and asked if these people also had a reservation. It turns out they did and that there had been an error in the booking system that day with seven couples in front of us, we stood inside in the cramped bar area. We were offered one margarita each for free to keep us entertained with the view of having no idea how long we may have to wait to be seated. After 40 minutes though we were finally sat, but as you can imagine this late on in the evening on one of the busiest days of the year for this restuarant, at least 50% of the menu was out of stock. This was extremely disappointing as we had wanted to try most of the different tacos only to find out they weren’t available. Additionally, as this is a high rated steak restaurant, we’ve been looking forward to trying one of the steaks again only to find out most were out of stock and those that were available were only available in 600g plus. And considering we wanted to share as well as getting other bits, paying £60 for a steak after the experience we’ve already had just didn’t feel right so we passed on that. The overall atmosphere was really nice and I understand the appeal in this restaurant. It’s just such a shame the way it all panned out. Our favourite was the beef brisket, Carnitas and at least favourite was the crispy potatoes with garlic and cheese, which in reality were not crispy at all, just boiled new potatoes underneath a layer of cheese. Disappointing. Overall, it’s hard to give a rating here as part of me feels sorry for the restuarant and understands that these things happen, but the other half of me believes more compensation should have been in place. May that be offering us a drink of our own choice at the table for free, or at least some kind of discount on the bill, but neither of which occurred. As not, everyone likes margaritas including myself, so the free one stood up for 40 minutes in a queue didn’t quite go down so well. I would really like to come back and try everything on the menu but after the other night I have been left with a bitter taste in my mouth sadly.

Lovely Sunday roast. Nice atmosphere and good food. The restaurant area is very spacious, making it suitable for bigger groups. Would recommend! The only advice i’d give is to minimise the amount of times you check-in with the guests to see if everything is fine. We got asked like 10+ times by different people and it started getting annoying after a while. Minor thing, would still recommend trying! 👍

We came here on Valentine’s Day and had booked pretty far in advance. Unfortunately due to issues at the city venue they moved all their reservations from there to the shoreditch one on top of all the existing shoreditch reservations. Because of this we got a bar table in the bar instead of a seat in the restaurant. The host recognised it was a crappy situation and did his best by giving us a booth in the bar. I think original bookings should’ve been kept the same as we missed out on sitting in the restaurant which is the vibe that we really were looking forward to and half the reason we booked. It’s just a shame seeing all the pressure being put on wait staff who are working really hard over management decisions because in the end no one really won. Management weren’t the ones who had to disappoint people face to face but they did make the decision to. The food was delicious on a positive note. Strangely the cabbage and kale was our favourite! Tacos were AMAZING! Our waiter was super lovely as well! Overall the evening didn’t start great but it did end with delicious food.

What started off as not so good, turned out to be an excellent dining experience. One of our Proseccos was flat, the other was in a dirty glass. However, the staff quickly corrected this! We had the Roast beef, Chicken & Califlower dinners, these were EXCELLENT! Very filling, large portions! Yummy Creamy cauliflower cheese & a good selection of side dips too. There is also a £1.50 ‘charity donation’ automatically added to the bill. No idea which charity this is?

Great steak, great cocktails and a really cool atmosphere. The drunken goats cheese tacos were amazing and came with a shot of honey tequila. We were late for our booking due to transport, and the staff still kept our booking, for which we were very grateful. Will definitely come again!

Interesting experience in a subterranean Argentinian barbecue house (my description!). Service was special, everyone is so willing to help. Food was beautiful and tasty. Small warning, you come out smelling of BBQ'd meat!

Amazing place, very lovely staff. The only downside was the service on the 21st of February. I was first in the queue and first to order, i went downstairs and waited almost 45 minutes just for a burger and chips, and everyone else was served. I went and asked. Apparently, they didn't get my order from upstairs. Maybe because i was the first customer and got mixed up with another order or its ethier, the guy didn't process my order and told me to go downstairs and wait until my name to be called out. I am very disappointed in the service.
