Tempura Abe Ginza 8-chome

We wanted to have tempura for dinner and came across this restaurant through Google Maps. It's up on the third floor, a few doors down from Shiseido Parlour and above Atlantis (the shop). We chose the omakase and we were really glad we did. Ten different items, all fried to perfection and served piping hot. Chef Abe will provide suggestions of how each course should be consumed. He's a very kindly man and speaks English well enough. I ate most of mine with just lemon juice and salt. There is a rice dish to wrap things up before dessert with coffee *and* tea. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food was indistinguishable from another tempura restaurant we had been visiting in Ginza. This one is in much more modest but cozy surroundings and much more reasonably priced. It is very reasonably priced for the quality of food and service that you get. This is going onto our list of favourites.

Wow…. Second last night in Tokyo and by far the BEST meal we have had in Japan. The chef is outstanding! The food was incredible. Truly an experience 👌

Pretty amazing tempura, simply amazing dining experience. Not overly fancy, ingredients were top quality and frying was spot on. Everything taste delicious. Highly recommended.

Located on the third floor. Went for dinner - not worth the price. King prawn is a actually a small shrimp and you have to mandatory take the appetiser (its not the about the price) but being forced to buy one is the issue. Tempura is very thinly battered. Not worth the price at all.

A cozy tempura restaurant and special experience. We sat at the counter and ordered the tempura don and hot sake, which were perfect on a cold winter evening. The chef and waitress were so gracious and wonderful. Highly recommend for an authentic experience and opportunity to slow down amid the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. We’ll be back the next time we visit Japan.

Intimate setting. Great tempura. Friendly staff. A bit pricey for the setting but very tasty.
