Dropped by this little shop while waiting for our daughter to finish her nartial arts class in Mira Mesa. The shop was very clean with a charming owner. Sh is very helpful in advising what to order. Since we were a little hungry and knew our daughter would be starving as well, we ended up ordering the party pack with an extra side of mash potatos. We waited for our food for about 10 minutes. The chicken was freshly fried and delicious. We chose the yuzu aoli, sweet and spicy, and spacy mayo sauces. Each sauce was great with the chicken. Mash potatos were creamy and delicious. Fries were tasty as well. Party pack was enough for 3 people with leftovers for my daughters lunch tomorrow. Budget friendly and a tasty place to eat.

If you like kaarage, here's the place to gooo. I would stick with the boneless thighs and get sauce on it. The bento is just plain rice, regular mashed potato and cabbage salad with dressing.

Google
Simple menu, decent price, no frills. We ordered a mixed karaage bento, karaage don, and side of fried gizzards and yuzu aioli. The bento and don are large portions. I recommend trying the yuzu aioli - it has a nice zing and a hint of a kicker. Karaage was tender inside and crispy outside, had a crunch with every bite. We ended up with leftovers.

Just really yummy! Crispy and a delightful when you take a bite into the boneless chicken bento box ❤️ I will come back again!!

A great dinning spot for a light meal. What looks like small portions is actually quit filling. This small place is the place I would eat lunch at every day if I worked near there. The food: the Korean fried chicken beats KFC in every category hands down. I got the Don which is fried chicken on top of rice with some veggies and an egg. I got mine with the fresh in house Spicy Mayo. The spice Mayo is so good here, it's practically a food group. The service was nice. The manager really shined and was truly concerned and focused on making sure every one got their order as fast as possible. The atmosphere is a a surfer beach house vibe? Very open and calming with surfer decor. Not sure what the correlation Japanese fried chicken has with surfing but maybe it's a thing. The do have high table bar like seating and a very comfortable patio area. Final result: I want more of this.

Google
I ordered the tender combo, it's just a drink with fries and a few small pieces of chicken tenders, the total was $16.59 with no condiments. The chicken tasted great so did the fries. The condiments are $1-$1.50 each for a small amount. I don't understand why they charge so high for the food especially condiments. This would be better if they just included it wth the meal and added sauce to the chicken or something than it being plain. The fries tasted like McDonald's fries. There were more fries than chicken. Please re-evaluate the costs and add sauces to the meals. Not worth coming back.

Google
Karaage was light, moist and meaty. 😋 👍. I wish they were slightly more crispy. I had wasabi mayo which has been my go to sauce lately. However gizzards were a slight disappointment. It was oily not as light as karaage. Spicy Tenkatori don was ok. I would have liked less sauce and it wasn't spicy enough for me. I prefer the texture of thigh over tender. For both don dishes, the seasoned egg was just plain and came with only 2 pieces of picked radish. The cartilage was sold out which was a major bummer; I really enjoyed it last time. Gizzards were better this time making up for sold out cartilage somewhat.

Google
Great product- karaage boneless chicken thigh had a crispy exterior and juicy meat on the inside. The crunch the texture and the flavors happily reminded me of what I ate in a izakaya in Osaka. It was delicious. Will come back again, awesome gem

Yelp
The only negative thing I have to say about this place isn't even really negative. They're just far from me and I hate driving far. Lol Probably the best karaage I've had in san Diego. They also serve the other parts of the chicken like cartilage and gizzard, which to me was the best part and what makes them stand out. Food is made fresh to order. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Please move closer to central SD!

Yelp
Huge fan for ordering to go. The kiddos love the karaage here. Definitely want to try their other items and placing this on my list to revisit! Staff were helpful and telling me their popular items.

Yelp
Tenkatori is a great find in Miramar for fried chicken! This little restaurant turns karaage from a side dish to a filling entree. I'm used to ordering a small serving of karaage to satisfy my fried chicken cravings before diving into a bowl of ramen; but here, you can get a karaage bento box, karaage rice bowls, or even karaage fries! I enjoyed ordering the karaage don (rice bowl)! As soon as I bit into the chicken, it was clearly the star of the show! Nice crunchy skin and super tender meat, and I will certainly be back for the karaage. I enjoyed the complement of fresh spinach and pickled radish in my rice bowl. I would have enjoyed my meal even more if the egg was a softer boil, as the egg was a bit rubbery and overboiled. I will be back for more karaage and to try their other cuts of fried chicken offerings. Easy strip mall parking for this casual lunch/dinner spot. imple range of canned/bottled beverages in the grab-n-go fridge by the counter, so grab a tea/soda on your way in. The staff is friendly and passionate about the food, and it shows! Looking forward to my next visit to Tenkatori and enjoying their delicious Japanese-style fried chicken!

Yelp
The fried chicken was simple but well-executed. 7/06/2024. 5 piece chicken wing section: simple home cooking, 3.5/5 stars. Boneless chicken thighs, one plain and the other with sweet & sour. Both were juicy and crispy with full of meat, 4/5 stars. The food is made to order but is well worth the wait for hot and crispy fried chicken and fries.

Yelp
Cute little shop that specializes in chicken karrage (Japanese fried chicken)! They are located in a small shopping plaza, so parking could be a little tricky during busy lunch hours. Luckily, I was able to find an open spot! The menu was expansive and featured a la carte chicken like thighs, wings, cartilage, etc, and also bento boxes, rice bowls, and fried rice. I opted for the 7oz chicken cartilage combo (fries and drink) and a side of white rice. I later also added a side of the yuzu aioli sauce which is an extra $1.40 (good but a little pricey). Next time, I would probably skip the combo and just go with the white rice. The drink selection was limited to canned sodas and canned green tea. The fries were good but they do not have ketchup available or for sale. The chicken cartilage was very tasty and was more substantial than I expected! It's a long, skinny piece of cartilage but not the small ball-shaped pieces normally at yakitori places. The side of white rice was good sized portion. The menu prices have gone up compared to the website. Service is friendly and the whole interaction was efficient and simple.

Yelp
I was craving some karaage chicken for lunch and found myself at Tenkatori after hearing many friends rave about it. I thought, why not give it a try? Located right off Miramar, it is found in a smaller plaza with smaller parking spots, but it was pretty empty and parking wasn't too hard to find. I walked in after figuring out what I wanted from their menu (everything looked so good, I just had to give it a try). I ended up getting the Nanban Bento which had tartar sauce on top, along with a mashed potato and salad side. The chicken was DELISH, would definitely go again for the chicken. It was moist and crispy, yet light and airy on the outside. The pieces were huge as well, and I'm pretty sure they gave me five pieces instead of the advertised four (but who's counting?). The mashed potato side had some corn and was a sweeter mashed potato. I initially thought the salad was going to be plain but it was dressed with a wonderful sesame dressing and paired perfectly with the heavy tartar sauce. Great service, the person who took my order was super nice and complimented my skin! :) They were quick with the preparations. I will definitely come here again to try something new!

Yelp
It's not very often that we find a local place that has nanban chicken. We tried this dish in Osaka and so happy to find a spot that does it authentically. We got one order of that that came with four huge pieces of chicken, a side salad, and rice. The tartar sauce was tangier than what we prefer but it was still delicious. Chicken lacked the nanban sauce which we love about the dish so I hope they add more of that. The dressing on the salad was delicious and I has to ask for more. I also got the mega kara mayo don which was juicy and crispy chicken thigh chunks that has a delicious spicy mayo sauce. I liked that it came with hard boiled egg and plenty of rice underneath. The serving itself was big enough for two people, IMO. Both meals were of reasonable price. The ambience was cozy and spacious. We will definitely be regulars from now on!

Yelp
Delicious! Theres only 2 adults and a 4 year old but I decided to buy their 1kg. It was so much food!! We ate it for 3 meals LOL. Next time when it's just us, I'd probably purchase a smaller batch but it was definitely enough food for like 6 people. I got the yuzu aioli and the sweet and spicy sauces. Both were yum! The yuzu aioli has a citrus flavor and sweet and spicy is soy sauce based. We took it to go and added our own rice and shredded cabbage to the dish and mmmmmmmmm. Can't wait to get it again!

Yelp
While staying in Sorrento Mesa, I was happy to be able to try the Karaage Chicken from Tenkatori! Their chicken thighs and chicken wings are delicious by themselves or with their sauces. I really liked their yuzu mayo and their spicy and sweet sauce, which I feel are worth their supplementary cost. (If you were to ask me what I liked more, it would be the yuzu mayo). I got a meal that came with soda and fries, but I enjoyed pairing the chicken with steamed white rice as well! What's special about Karaage Chicken is the chewiness and crispiness you get from their potato starch. The chicken is generally crispy, juicy, and flavorful. It's simple and delicious. Was the perfect choice for dinner!

Yelp
Food was fire here. Chicken was CRISPY, juicy, and flavorful. Each bite packed a punch. Sauce is a must get, otherwise your meal will be sad and dry. They do ask you what sauce you want, and preferably the spicy mayo is my sauce of pick. Service was cool, quick, and attentive. Shop is a bit small but enough space to get a bite and leave. I got the Karaage-don. Perfect serving size for 1 person. The pickled radish and ramen egg were a nice touch. Would absolutely come again and check out the other menu items.

Yelp
I really love Tenkatori! Their fried chicken is always so delicious. My favorite pick is the 7 oz cartilage with the meal upgrade paired with their yuzu sauce. I also love getting the mashed potatoes on the side. For all the visits I've had their fried chicken never feels greasy. The amount of breading is just right, and the crisp bites are always on point. The meal upgrade is to add fries and a drink. The fries are just as fresh and not greasy. I've also tried their Mix Bento, Boneless Thigh Bento, and Mega Karaage Bowl. Calling ahead is my preferred way to order since the meal is cooked per order and can take up to 20 min to finish. It's always worth the wait. When picking up the to go order or ordering in house the workers are always kind and attentive. They have plenty of seating inside and outside. Parking can be a little tight and crowded.

Yelp
Soso good, please come here to try if you like karaage or chicken in general. We ordered 1kg of boneless thighs and for 2 decently heavy eaters, this was a pretty good amount. The outer crisp was so crunchy and satisfying, and not heavy or overly oily like other fried chicken. Inside, the chicken was really juicy and tender, and it stayed hot for a long time. We tried their yuzu aioli and wasabi mayo and these were amazing!! The yuzu aioli was so refreshing and creamy, really fragrant of yuzu ugh soso good :')) The wasabi mayo was equally as good, and had the perfect punch from the wasabi,, wasn't overpowering at all and there was fresh wasabi in it as well which is a plus! Both of these sauces were really unique and something you can't find at other places (or at least from my experience) It took maybe 10-15 minutes for our chicken but much worth bc it was so fresh and we were so happy for finding this spot, which is tucked in a quiet plaza. Very kind service, and everything is made fresh to order Would recommend and def come back!

Yelp
Shoutout to Tenkatori for making some of the best chicken Karaage in SD! They are always made fresh to order and the chicken comes out nice and hot with a light, but crunchy coating! The bentos are incredibly filling and come with potato, rice, and a salad. You can't miss with their boneless thighs, but I've also had their wings which were delicious. Definitely order some of their sauce on the side (my go-to is the yuzu aioli)!

Yelp
Tender and served hot and fresh, my family enjoyed this Japanese chicken joint. Even the fried rice was appreciated. I got their mix of wings and thigh with a small scoop of mashed potatoes that were quite perfect and a delicately shredded heap of crisp cabbage. I can recommend this. I washed everything down with a can of green tea. They have good fries too. Id suggest more comfortable seating for larger parties in order to improve our experience, because we had to push two high tables together, but service was nice and good was good sooo we were satisfied.

Yelp
Different & Delicious! Tried for the first time, did not disappoint. It was juicy and tender. Will definitely add to the rotation.

Yelp
Hands down the best, if not only, place to get QUALITY karaage in San Diego. I pretty much order the Karaage Don ($14.50) with a side of Yuzu Aioli (+$1) every other Friday for lunch. It's the ULTIMATE combo. Their karaage breading is light and crispy, not cakey and heavy like that other, for some reason, popular spot on Convoy. Not only does the Karaage Don come with a large helping of fried fresh, juicy chicken drizzled with their house teriyaki sauce, but it also includes a seasoned egg, pickled radish, a reasonable portion of rice and a small helping of spinach. The owners run a tight ship, are hardworking, and friendly. It is located in an unassuming, claustrophobic strip mall in Miramar, but I am somehow always able to find a spot in those tight areas without issue. It is truly the best from the rest!

Yelp
parking: free & easy parking lot what we ordered: * sweet & spicy chicken thigh (5 piece + fries) (~$15 with tip): my favorite part was the batter. the chicken felt light and crispy, and their sauce was very mildly spicy. their fries are good too; they remind me of the ones at McDonald's * karaage bowl: my friend got this, and they said it was good * yuzu aioli: it sucks that you have to pay extra for sauce, but this dip is so good. the yuzu isn't overpowering and the creamy aioli goes well with the chicken. service: the person at the front was nice, and our food was served to us within 10-15 mins main takeaway: reasonable prices and good food. this place will satisfy your fried chicken craving!

Yelp
I have been recommended to eat here by some very close associates and i am glad i visited. I ordered the mix bento to try different parts of the chicken. Regardless of what piece you choose the technique of making a true kaarage can be found at this establishment. A true kaarage requires no lemon or Japanese "kewpie" mayo and this establishment has aced it. It was also warming to be able to speak Japanese which made the service welcoming, as the first bite of my kaarage took me back home to Kanagawa.

Yelp
When most of your menu revolves around a single type of dish, it better be good, and Tenkatori Mirimar serves an exemplary version of karaage or Japanese fried chicken. The way they prepare the dish here results in a crispy fried layer, moist meat, even with chicken breast meat, and not greasy at all. I had the chicken breast bento, which included rice, shredded cabbage, and a small scoop of potato salad. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the flavor was very natural, although some might find it a bit light. But that can be addressed with one of their sauces for a buck or buck fifty more. I tried the sweet and spicy, and while I was expecting something like teriyaki sauce, their version is infinitely better. The place feels like small, family run diner an the couple who runs the place were awesome. Next time I will try the traditional version with thigh meat and another sauce!

Yelp
Came here and got the 12 piece karaage chicken thighs. They were made fresh to order. They were both juicy and crispy. They are fine on their own but you can buy dipping sauces for $1 each, I chose the Yuzu aioli with was very tasty, highly recommend this sauce. I would describe it as a yuzu ranch, it has a nice citrus kick from the yuzu. You can get it as a combo with fries and a drink, or order a bento box with rice, a cabbage and tomato salad and mashed potatoes. They also offer tenders (white meat), gizzards, wings, or cartilage. Not really my thing but if it is, its one of the few places that do offer it. When I visited they were out of both the gizzard and cartilage though so maybe call ahead to see if they are available before heading down. They also offer karaage and chips a take on fish and chips as well as complete karaage don bowls, and fried rice. The best karaage I can think of in San Diego, Juicy and crispy. Service was friendly, chicken is fried to order, they have their own parking lot out front. Highly recommend the yuzu aioli dipping sauce. Can't wait to try their wings!

Sherry T.

Yelp
The food here is amazing, the chicken is so crispy but the inside is still very tender and juicy. The fries were seasoned so well and went perfectly with the chicken.

Yelp
Fantastic japanese food. Affordable. Friendly staff. Pictured: - Karaage & Fries w/ Yuzu sauce - Fried chicken & Fried cartilage - Bento box w rice. Recommend trying this place because although it was fried, I didn't get that heavy oily feeling after eating it! #cleanplateclub

Yelp
While visiting in San Diego we were in the mood for fried chicken and found Tenkatori. Cute, small restaurant in Miramar. There were 3 of us. We ordered a 5 piece boneless thigh karage, chicken fried rice and boneless thigh karage bento box. The chicken was piping hot, crispy and very tasty. The bento box came with rice, a shaved cabbage salad with a sesame dressing and mashed potatoes which were cold with a slightly sweet sauce similar to Tonkatsu sauce. As I assumed the potatoes to be hot with a gravy, the cold shocked me as it was unexpected. It wasn't my favorite part of the dish. The chicken pieces were good sized and the 5 pieces were very filling with the salad and rice. We all enjoyed our food. Definitely a comeback place!

Yelp
This small chicken shop is THE place to stop by for some quick and affordable Asian fried chicken! The food here is delicious and while I enjoyed the don, I absolutely loved the chicken gizzards and got so much for what I paid!
google avatar

Nina N.

Yelp
10/10 recommend the crispy karaage with spicy mayo! It is so crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! The only downside is they don't deserve alcohol so you can't pair it with beer on the side. Parking is a little tight as it's shared with other stores in that block. This restaurant is closed from 2-4pm.
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are obsessed with tenkatori! The kaarage here is one of the best we've ever had, and we've been to Japan. They're a chain from LA and their chicken is super succulent and juicy! We also love their yuzu aioli - it's the perfect sauce to cut through the fried chicken. We usually get a bucket of chicken to take home and just eat it with rice. It's more affordable that way and we prefer it to the set meal/bento.
google avatar

Andrew R.

Yelp
Ordered a mixed (4 pieces total) wings and thighs bento box. 4 relatively small pieces of chicken which was good but no better than other places I've tried ( typically Korean fried chicken). I honestly cannot believe the hassle in asking to substitute more rice instead of mashed potatoes. First it was no. Then it was I could order fried rice ( I wanted steamed rice) for an extra charge. Then I said never mind ( I'll take it as is)and she said they'd give me the extra rice. Upon picking up my order before 5 (shop almost empty) I was given an ambiguous lecture about it was ok this time but next time.........fill in the blank because she never said what would happen next time. Side bar: I don't think there will be a next time. Maybe this was a language barrier issue ( which I would accept and understand)? If the restaurant doesn't want to do substitutions then just say so or please make it conspicuous on the menu ( if it's there I didn't see it online). In the end the chicken wasn't that great that it was worth the annoyance. Is rice more expensive than potatoes ? If so, maybe offer a substitution for a small upcharge. THE Doctor ( Notorious MD) is unlikely to make a return house all to this restaurant.

Yelp
Tenkatori is a small little shop in Mira Mar that specializes in chicken karaage (Japanese fried chicken). I've had both takeout and dine in at this restaurant and definitely recommend the dine in. Food does take a little while to come out because they make each batch fresh but the satisfaction of eating the chicken fresh is worth it. The crunch and the piping hot flavor is best when served in person. The restaurant has a few tables indoors and some outdoor seating (mostly just for small groups no more than 4). Take out was still decent but the exterior breading did suffer in the 10 min drive home. Didn't quite get the crispy crunch I got in person. Overall the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. They do have a bathroom available if you ask for the key (bathroom is located outside of the restaurant but within the shopping plaza).
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
We just came back from Japan and really enjoyed karaage chicken there. I found this little place and had to try. Located in a little shopping center on Miramar Rd with many other eateries. Lady who greeted us was friendly and very helpful. Me and my Hubby ordered a 5 piece thigh each with the sauces on side. It was served nice and hot. It had great flavor and sauces complimented chicken. We really enjoyed. Flavors pretty close to what we had in Japan.
google avatar

Melissa D.

Yelp
I called in my order for takeout so I can't say much about service but their karaage is IMO the best karaage in SD! It's so juicy, crispy, tasty, and perfect size pieces even after eating it 20 min after picking it up. I got the regular 8 piece karaage to share with sweet & spicy and yuzu aioli dipping sauces. I HIGHLY recommend these if you're deciding between the sauces! The sweet & spicy was like a teriyaki sauce with a nice kick and yuzu aioli has a refreshing citrus taste to balance out the mayo base. I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

Yelp
I had the most amazing kimchi fried rice here today. The portion was super generous for the price of $12, and their chicken was so flavorful. I was able to have this dish for about two rounds of leftovers too! The staff at the front were quite warm and the food was made in about 10-15 minutes. The vibe inside is really cute, too. They have hanging plants all throughout, and they have lots of sunlight inside. Can't wait to try something else next time.
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
This is a review of the food as take out only. Even after a drive of 20 minutes, the karaage was still crispy! Crispy and fried, but didn't taste heavy/oily. They didn't give any dipping sauce with it but it didn't really need additional sauce. We got the boneless thighs and the chicken was juicy and tender under the crispy batter. We also got the fries and chicken (smaller cut up pieces). The fries didn't stay crispy and were a little soggy from the sweet and sour sauce on it that we got. Maybe it would've worked out better if we ate it in the restaurant.

Yelp
Great customer service and delicious food! I spent a yr in Okinawa Japan in 98'. I have been talking about chicken balls and rice every since. We used to get it at a place called Hokka Hokka Tei right outside of Camp Kinser. The Karaage is a super krispy ball of chicken meat. We got 3 items to make sure we had leftovers. The boneless thigh Bento box was a good pick. I asked them to add the seaweed powder just like in Oki. Delicious chicken taste with a nice crunch. The seaweed powder is only a seasoning. It's not a heavy flavor and only compliments the meal. Karaage & chips is delicious too. We picked the Yuzu Aioli to go on top. It's a lemon flavored cream sauce. That Aioli goes perfect with the seaweed powder. It was so good, we ended up getting an extra side of the Yuzu Aioli. I highly recommend that. That worked out great because we dipped the Karaage into it. If you have never had Japanese fried chicken, you are missing out. Support your local small business!

Yelp
First time trying this place via take out! I think it's safe to say I would come back. I tried their Chicken Karaage bowl, which came with a handful of chicken karaage, an egg, rice, spinach, and pickled raddish for I think about $15. The texture of the chicken was good, was juicy, and I liked the amount of breading. I do think it could use a little more sauce on top...just a little bit more. The seasoned egg wasn't as "seasoned" as I wanted it to be, but still okay. Overall, pretty filling lunch. I want to try their other flavors next time.

Yelp
So yummy! I loved this place. Nice balanced comfort meal. Small cozy shop. Service was good, and the restaurant was clean. Didn't check the bathrooms. I can't wait to come back! Probably my favorite fried chicken.

Yelp
I finally made it here and I got when they just open, I ordered the regular chicken karaage, gizzards, and the cartilage because my wife likes cartilage and they were really good, I had a piece of skin of the chicken and it was so crunchy like the chicken skin chicharon, I tried to order the kimchee fried rice but the rice is not done yet so I opted out because it still like 15 minutes from getting done. The clerk was really nice but she forgot to give some sauce but because she is still setting up the place but chicken came out quick. My wife keeps telling me that it's not salty like in some ramen place. The place use to be the dumpling place and my daughter and I use to go to get our dumplings .

Yelp
This place is a gem tucked away in one of those Miramar complexes. We've gotten to go a couple times here and the food is always great. The chicken is always crispy and great. The service is always great as well. I love that they expanded their hours. Tip: call ahead to place order to avoid long wait.

Yelp
It was very greasy for this chicken fried rice I ordered. The one I ordered last time was much better. Quality is not the same, unfortunately.

Yelp
Took my order to go and it is delicious and substantial. I was the only customer when I ordered and was told it would take 10 minutes but it was ready in 5. Since it was my first time here and the menu is fairly extensive. The nice lady made a few recommendations and I settled on the MEGA Karaage Mayo bowl. It has a large quantity of chicken with white rice, spinach, dicon and a hard boiled egg. I think my granddaughter and grandson would enjoy this.

Yelp
This place literally only does one thing, why would it be bad? Tenkatori has ruined karaage for me, I can't go anywhere else. It's super tender especially if you order the thighs which is important since karaage tends to be on the dryer side. The real fun is where the sauce options are. They are ALL fire. I personally go with the sweet and sour and I was worried it would be the good ol sh itty orange saus but nah it's brown. A good brown. Good brown. Get the sweet and sour. The yuzu aioli is another banger that you should try if for nothing other than that sexy name . I ate here once and posted a piccy and then I had to take like 3 ppl here which is why I ate it 3x in a week. Wasn't even sick of it by the end. I'm flying home to sd rn and I'm not leaving without some tingus pingus. 5 star

Yelp
Here I will post 2 pictures. I ordered the Tenkatori don which I thought would be good and is their signature dish. But the rice is cold and bland, the spinach is raw, the chicken is slathered with some kind of mayo and cold. As for the egg, it is thoroughly overdone. Would not recommend at all.

Yelp
I was in the area and looking for a quick lunch and decided on Tenkatori based on exceptional Yelp reviews. The place is small, with a few tables, but it's not the decor or number of tables that makes this place stand out... It's the amazingly crispy and flavorful fried chicken. I ordered the eight piece fried chicken thighs with two of their eight or so dipping sauce options. Got the Wasabi mayo and the sweet and spicy sauces, and both were tasty. Now back to the chicken... It came out piping hot, and was crispy, juicy, and absolutely delicious... Among the best I've had. I can't wait to go back and try the wings and some of the other items on their menu!

Yelp
Overall: Such an amazing hole in the wall! I just stumbled around trying to get my car fixed and stumbled upon this place. Takes about 30 minute wait ( there was a line on Thursday afternoon) and it was a women and man running the whole show! I got the fried gizzards (for people who know, you either do it right or you do it wrong) and they did it amazing! I also got the don (rice bowl). I liked the flavors but my personal preference is having it more tightly done like in a bowl rather than separate on a plate! Amazing hidden gem!

Yelp
Stopped by for some lunch on a weekday off, and we decided on some delicious Japanese karaage chicken before hitting up some delicious Miramar breweries. The lady at the counter was so sweet and very kind. The service was so hospitable, but the food itself took so long, a little too long. There were so many of us waiting around for our lunches, so maybe the kitchen needed to be better staffed? Once the food came out, it was worth the wait. I had the 4pc boneless thigh bento box (comes with rice, cabbage/tomato salad, and mashed potatoes). My friend got the karaage don (comes with rice, egg, radish, and boneless thigh x3). Both looked good, and we were both very full with a few bites of leftovers remaining. We enjoyed the homemade dipping sauce which was such a umami combo of sweet, salty, and savory. For $10 you're guaranteed a solid fried Japanese chicken meal. If you can find parking in the tight strip mall area. If your eardrums don't pop off from the constant planes flying overhead. And if you're stomach doesn't eat itself while you're waiting.

Yelp
Whenever I have the craving for Japanese karaage I come here, polite staff, clean vibe. They don't have the ramen anymore so tried their Karaoke Mayo Don. As always never fails to deliver. Neat.

Yelp
My coworker raved about this place, so our department decided to place a big order. When I went to pick it up, there was quite a crowd inside waiting for their food, so I'd recommend calling in your orders instead. There was one hiccup - they forgot the extra rice my coworker paid for, but I didn't feel like going back to get it. Despite that, the karrage chicken was good - perfectly fried, crispy, and a classic, simple Japanese meal that can't go wrong.
