A very popular and famous local restaurant. Walked in late at 9pm after visiting the Fotografiska without noticing the time. The restaurant was fully packed at that moment. When I open the door, the Butler (Yes, a Butler, you don't see butlers really often nowadays) politely explained to me the full house situation and suggested me to have a drink at the bar area first to wait for a table, and hang my coat immediately (butler services always makes me feel like a VIP), I've ordered a beer and not for long a really nice gentleman (staff) got me a table. I've ordered an assorted appetizer by chef recommendation and a steak tartar. Both are really delicious and their Toast Skagen is the best one I've tried in both Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen (Yes, I've been eating that almost everyday in Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen, 15 days of Skagen😂). The Steak Tartar is nicely done with all the capers and condiments in right amount and the fries are piping hot and crunchy. The beer which the gentleman introduced me, Kellerbier is super good and quenches my thirst right away. Everything was perfect and staffs are very attentive even in a non-stop full house situation. After paying, I went to the butler to get my coat back and he assisted me to wear it, and then farewell me with a genuine smile. The service here is impeccable, the butler, the waiters, everyone, they are real gentlemen and performed their job really well with their highest professionalism and manner. The food was very nice but what makes me appreciate the most is their service. Definitely will visit again whenever I'm in Stockholm but next time I'll make a reservation in advance.
**Update** I'd visited here again on 21 August 2025, for their Surstromming day. On this day the restaurant will only serves the Surstromming set menu, and all the windows of the restaurants are all opened as the smell of Surstromming is pretty strong. The Surstromming is served directly from the opened can and you have to eat that with Swedish Flatbread, Potatoes, Onions and Chives and Sour Cream. The combination taste pretty ok it's just need more potatoes as the fish is very salty. Do not attempt to eat the Surstromming directly without the above ingredients. It's one of the very rare experience to have when you're in Stockholm, even TV reporter went to the restaurant and interviewed some customers. Reservation is needed well advance as this is very popular and easily become fully booked l. I would say this is a must try, no matter you like it or not.
