Solid spot for a quick bowl of udon. The food was solid. I got the Ebu Niku Udon, broth was simple but good. The Ika Geso was good as well. Decent price for what you get.

During my recent visit to Tensai for dinner, I was impressed by their authentic Japanese udon. Nestled in Midtown East, this cozy spot exuded a warm and cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.
The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly their niku (beef) and ebi (shrimp) udon. The rich, soul-warming broth paired with perfectly cooked noodles provided a comforting and fulfilling experience. The menu offered a variety of options, all reasonably priced between $10-20, ensuring great value for the quality provided.
The ambiance at Tensai was both intimate and authentic, with traditional Japanese design elements that transport you straight to Japan. The staff were attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience.
I greatly enjoyed my visit to Tensai and recommend it for anyone that’s around Midtown East looking for a delicious Japanese meal.

Amazing place with delicious udon. The noodles were a perfect chewy texture and the broth was light and refreshing. I got the Ebi Ontama Udon and the shrimp tempura was perfect. I also tried the karaage and it is probably the most authentic karaage I've had in NYC. Will come again soon.

Cozy spot to grab some delicious udon and Japanese food! The menu is small and simple. Prices were kind of high for what it is but everything was made fresh. Limited seating but there are some bar seats facing the window that were perfect for people watching!

I ordered the ebi ten udon with a side of kimchi. The ebi tempura was perfectly deep-fried, and I enjoyed the kimchi as well. The udon noodles were pleasantly chewy, making me want to take another bite right away, but that was about it. The soup was clear but not particularly moreish. I had some expectations because of the high ratings, but my experience didn’t quite live up to them.

Everything was delicious and sooo satisfying after a long flight. The octopus was my fav appetizer. Udon was so fresh and broth was amazing. Tempura was pretty light batter but had perfect crunch

Really amazing cozy spot. Dined alone but felt super comfortable. Had the special cold udon with tempura shrimp and it was so good!
