NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"There’s a new bánh mì spot in Chinatown. Tènten sells about half a dozen variations on the Vietnamese sandwich, starting at $9.50, and stuffed with things like char siu pork and pâté, tuna, and roasted mushrooms. You can also get some iced Vietnamese coffee and tea drinks." - will hartman

Northern style pho

Google
I’m Viet and grew up eating delicious pho every Sunday. I‘ve also been to Hanoi to enjoy northern style pho, which Tènten specializes in. I was really excited to try this place, but unfortunately the customer service and food quality is really lacking. The pho was not worth the 1.5 hour wait. I think it’s best to order it online or call in advance and order to go. I came in on Friday at 3 pm for the happy hour special. It took about 20 minutes for a staff member to greet me, an hour to get seated, and another 30 minutes from the time I was seated for the pho to arrive at the table. There was only one staff member running the food from the kitchen, cleaning tables, refilling condiments, and taking orders. When I was seated, someone’s used pho bowl was still on the table, and it took another 10 minutes for a staff member to take the dirty dish away. My table wasn’t even wiped clean after the used dish was removed. Several customers including myself had to get up and grab napkins, chopsticks, chili sauce, and garlic from other seated tables because the condiments were empty or running low at all the tables. When the pho did arrive, the tai (eye round steak) was very tough to chew because it was too thickly sliced and roughly chopped. The noodles were fresh and the broth tasted almost authentic, but those were the only highlights of the bowl. The fried dough came out another 10 minutes after the pho when I was already halfway done, and it was over cooked and nearly burned.

Best pho in the city. Once you have had northern style pho, you won’t want to have anything else. The fried dough is such a nice touch! Hope this trend catches on

If you’re looking for quality authentic Vietnamese soups, it’s the place to go. Being familiar with Vietnamese food, even in Vietnam, but within the soup realm only familiar with Pho, I was recommended the Tai Gau. The broth is delicious and the staff super friendly. I was able to try a a new tamarind drink they offered me and it’s quite delicious! The atmosphere is simple canteen style. Highly recommended!

Google
It is genuinely rare to find a good bowl of pho in New York. It is even harder to find a bowl of hanoi-style pho (mostly differentiated by toppings - pickled garlic is my favorite but people also love the poached egg) in New York. And this spot is doing incredible bowls of hanoi-style pho…maybe the best in the city? We stopped in on a rainy evening, and it was easy to find seats. Lots of single diners in for a quick meal. Super cozy. Service super fast.

06.09.2025, ordered at the counter at 12.26pm: I was very excited to come try this new place, marketing they serve ORIGINAL hanoian phở and serve it FAST which is the basics as the broth is cooked for hours before, sometimes overnight and is already ready to be served. I ordered no 6, phở gà (chicken soup). It took 50min for the waitress to come back to me and say they were having an issue with the broth and cannot serve what I ordered. So I had to change my order, no problem. The real issue here is how come it took 50min for the kitchen/staff to inform the customer he/she won't get what she ordered. Anticipation and professionalism are clearly missing here. Knowing that the broth should be already ready to be served... They should have known way before about that issue and that they would not be able to serve that dish. Taste wise, the broth was clear and tasty but not tasty enough to my vietnamese standards. The flavours were not deep as it should be as per hanoian kitchen. The northern kitchen uses less products and add-ons than the southern kitchen. The taste should be more pure and deeper. It was good enough for NYC but not so OG as per SoCal or Vietnamese expectations, I guess can't expect more :( I'm sadly writing this review as I'm so disappointed...

Google
Got a flank beef and brisket pho from @tenten_nyc that specializes in Northern Vietnamese pho. It was delicious! The place is pretty new so the space is clean and comfortable even though small. Would be back to try other pho options next time and perhaps a drink as well.

I visited around 2 PM on a weekend, excited for two bowls of pho, but the experience fell short. We ordered two bowls of pho, two poached eggs, and one fried dough. Despite clearly requesting no scallions, both bowls came with them. The noodles were overcooked and falling apart, and the broth was cold. The poached eggs were barely cooked in the chilly broth. At $17 per bowl, it was definitely not worth the price. I can't recommend this place.

Google
Tènten is a vietnamese restaurant serving Northern style pho in Chinatown. Unlike Southern/Saigon style pho, Northern style one has a clearer broth and wider rice noodles. They have a $20 lunch combo on weekdays 12-4pm, which you can get any pho + specialty drink. You can hardly go wrong here as they have a small menu with only four items. It has limited seatings and gets packed fast, so come early!! *Tái Cầu #1 $17 *Áp Chảo #3 $17 We ordered the two most recommended pho from their menu. Tái Cầu was served with flank beef & brisket, while Áp Chảo came with sauteed beef and garlic. The beef bone broth was so aromatic on its own (no hoisin sauce needed🙅🏻‍♀️). The rich broth was definitely something you can hardly remake at home. Squeeze some lime juice, add garlic vinegar and a little chilli sauce (very spicy) for more depth of flavors. I personally preferred Áp Chảo as the shredded marinated beef was more flavorful. My bf liked Tái Cầu more as the beef was more tender👌🏻 *Quay $3 We got some crispy fried dough on the side to dip into the broth. It looked and tasted like chinese fried dough stick (油炸鬼/油條). I would have liked it better if it was served warm. *Coco-Nuts For You $6.95 The iced coffee with condensed milk and coconut cream was very coconut-y and creamy. The texture was almost like slushie. The coffee flavor was on the milder side compared to regular viet coffee. *Daily Refresher $6.5 Daily refresher was perfect for non-coffee drinkers. It was a lemongrass peach tea with fresh peach and orange slices. Very refreshing.

Yelp
I feel like nobody's talking about Tenten enough. I get it, the price point is a splurge but if you're hungover or sick, you kinda just want a comfort guarantee. This place is miles away from where I live but it's my favorite spot to go when my girlfriend's sick. Her favorite is the yellow pho (No 4). I'm not really a fan of it but there's this savory herbally ingredient that she really likes. It's like star anise but meaty. I'm more of a classic guy myself. I think the other 3 are the same base but with different meats. If you can't tell, don't worry, I'm Vietnamese and I'm struggling. No shame in asking the cute waitress. But believe me when I say it's one of the most elegant soups out there. Not bedazzling in toppings but the way the heavy flavors carry itself so smoothly. It felt like I was drinking the essence of life. It had elements like congee, where it was almost cream like in texture and not heavy despite having a rich profile. Oh! Velvety is what I'm thinking of. They tried to do some stuff with Banh mis but that didn't seem to workout. The coffees are also very decadent. Very bold and sweet. Absolutely delicious but guaranteed diabetes. Would only splurge once in awhile or if you're already terminal and living your best life.

Yelp
Was so excited to try, the northern style pho. Ordered nmbr 1, pho tai gau. All order come with cilantro, so if you want it, you need to tell them ahead. You just go straight to the register to order and pay, and then find your seat. Total about $18. Noodle is really good, also the broth is also flavorful. The texture is need to get used to, smaller, smoother than what I used to. My favorite part is the condiments. Love the picked garlic and the chilli sauce. The downside is.. my noodle supposed to come with flank and brisket. And what supposed to be brisket is only fats. For the price, not sure if I want to come back. Sometimes they do pop up and offer more menu. Maybe until then I'll try again .

Yelp
Today was my first time coming here at Tén Ten to get a pho bowl. They have a small menu of pho selections and just 4 if you see the menu on the tv above the cashier. I decided to go with option 1, which was the Tái Gâu. It is rice noodles with flank beef and brisket for $17. The place was very yellow with nice yellow stools, yellow tables, and a long green bench along the wall. There were condiments of napkins, chopsticks, spoons, lime, hot sauce, and other condiments on each table to add to your pho. When the pho came out, I was amazed at the brisket. It was still somewhat bloody and did not realized they cooked it medium temperate. It's not well done so the soup had some blood. It tasted so good though! The brisket won my heart and was way better than the flank beef that was stiff and hard compared to the tender bloody brisket! The beef also had a layer of fat that I had to rip off each time I took a piece. The soup was good and I put so much lime that it became very sour with a good twist. Cilantro was very good. I love cilantro. Wish they put more. The green onions very very aromatic. So good! I wish they gave more noodles. I love the quality of the noodles. Flat and broad noodles. Definitely going to get more pho with the brisket. I know 2 of their pho bowls got brisket! Besides the pho, I got the Daily Boosta and it was so good! It is iced coffee with condensed milk and whipped cream! It was so creamy even though I know it is somewhat fatty it was so good! I was so in love with it! Too bad the ice watered it down when I had one more inch left in my cup to drink. I took over 5 hours to drink that coffee. It was so good that I had to enjoy it like that. Definitely going to get that coffee next time and luckily it is near my job!

Yelp
Not familiar with Northern Style pho, interesting but so weird not able to have Thai basil, bean sprout, and hoison... Brisket was not great but flank was good.

Yelp
Came in to try the pho ba. Was very clear broth and good amount of beef. The place itself is tiny . Probably 5 tables total. This is not a lingering kinda place. Basic set up with just pho on the menu. Pho ga and pho ba combos. The beef broth version will run you $19 all in .

Yelp
Tenten was on our list because we have never tried Northern Vietnamese Pho before. I could definitely taste the difference between northern and southern pho and I really enjoy both. Northern is more clear, light broth and wider noodles, while Southernis a richer, sweeter broth with a fish sauce flavor, and thinner noodles. We ordered the Tai Gau (flank beef and brisket $17) and Sot Vang (flank and house special beef stew $17). I'm not used to the thicker cuts of meat in pho, but both broths were comforting and fragrant. Sot Vang was my favorite as the stew added so much depth and the beef was so tender. I love the hot sauce, lime slices, and marinated vinegar garlic slices. Adds such a nice flavor. The restaurant small but there are a few tables and there is no need to tip, as you pay in the front when you order.

Yelp
Not sure why the place is named Tenten, but our lunch was good. This is a small place, located off the main thoroughfares of Chinatown and Little Italy. I read somewhere that although most Vietnamese restaurants in NY are Southern oriented, this one is Northern region based. Although we are still in summer, technically, the temperature outside is pleasantly moderate, mid seventies. I decided pho would not be out of the question. As it turns out, this was a great choice. Pho is light tasting and no sweat. Not crowded, clean and quiet for a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
I grew up with Northern-style pho and didn't realize it was a rarity in NYC until, well, coming to NYC. So on that basis alone, schlep on over to Chi-town to try Tenten's offerings. Yes, the prices are Manhattan prices ($17/bowl + tax/tip), but at least you'll enjoy what you're eating? We got the Loi Gau, which was savory and filled with nicely done cuts of briskey, and the Ap Chao, which had more umami on account of the garlic broth and sauteed beef. You really can't go wrong with any of the bowls. For libations, try the Daily Refresher or Vietnamese lemonade during these early summer days. I don't drink coffee, but I'm sure their Viet coffee offerings will slap. This is mostly a take-out spot, so don't expect spacious or ornate seating. Come during off hours if you're really worried about fitting your 10 closest friends at a table. Word of warning: Their online menu doesn't match their in-person menu. I have no idea why.

Yelp
Super casual Vietnamese pho shop in Chinatown. Decided to try this place because the pictures looked good. Their menu is very simple. Only 4 pho options. I ordered the #1. It had flank beef and brisket. I thought the meat was too tough.. and the noodles were too chewy/starchy. It wasn't the typical rice noodles I'm used to eating in Vietnam. I think the best part about this dish is the broth. It wasn't too sweet but I could tell it had a decent amount of MSG. It's on the pricier end.

Yelp
Hanoi style pho in the heart of New York City! I had the pleasure of visiting Tenten on a random walk through Manhattan and left very impressed. The menu is super streamlined, with four options for pho and a couple items on the side. Tenten is a bit no frills with simple counter service. I ordered the Pho Tai Gau, served with brisket and flank beef. The broth was comforting and fragrant with aromatics. Highly recommend if you're craving pho and within the neighborhood.

Yelp
I noticed this new Vietnamese shop popped up on Baxter recently, so of course I had to try them out. They seem to specialize in Hanoi-style pho, which features a clearer and simpler broth that is heavy on the beef flavor and thicker, flat rice noodles that resemble linguine. There aren't a lot of places that offer Hanoi-style pho, other than Đi Ăn Đi in Greenpoint and Hà Nội House in East Village, so I would definitely recommend a visit to Tenten if you're curious. There was a bit of an English barrier, but luckily the menu is quite limited and if you have any other questions you can always use Google Translate. We ordered the most popular items, the #1: phở tái gầu and the #3: phở bò áp chảo ($17 each). I liked the phở tái gầu better as it came with flank steak and fatty brisket, the latter of which was so rich and delicious. The phở bò áp chảo was pretty similar but used beef shank instead. I didn't get much garlic flavor in the meat or the broth in the phở bò áp chảo either. Highly recommend some of their house chili garlic sauce-- it packs a punch. I also ordered the Salt Mate ($6.95), which was a Hue-style iced coffee with a sea salt crema. The coffee leans more milky than anything, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you're looking for a caffeine fix.

Yelp
Came in for lunch with fellow Yelper Nancy A. Ordered a #2 Pho and a fruity drink at the front counter, and waited about ten minutes for my meal. The Pho soup was total delish; It was rich and flavorful; The noodle is not the typical viet thin noods; these were thicker and has a bit more chewy texture- I really liked it. The meat was good, though the brisket portions were a bit tough to eat. The bowl of noodle didn't require any other sauces of condiments; soup blended so well with the noodles. Really enjoyed my meal, the drink was okay. Nancy mentioned that her viet coffee was really good; maybe will order the Iced coffee on my next visit.

Yelp
Heard about this place on social media that serves northern Vietnamese style pho so decided to try it out. It's a really small place where you order and pay at the counter and then they bring out your food at the table. The prices are a little pricier than the other pho places around but it's the only northern style pho in nyc for all I know. We got the number one and number two. The noodles were the standout. They were thick and chewy and absolutely amazing! The broth was salty and savory that was brightened up with some lime and the chili sauce that's provided on the tables. The meat was a little chewy and dry but still had good beefiness. Overall, a unique place to get pho if you love thick chewy noodles.

Yelp
I finally tried northern-style pho and nonetheless in Chinatown. Starting off, they have an assortment of Vietnamese iced coffees and I opted in for The OG and a Salt-Mate which had a sweet and salty foam on top. We tried their main two noodle soups, Tái Gáu and Lõi Gáu and both had a warm broth with lots of hearty beef slices. The noodles are wider than your classic pho and there's condiments on the side like brined chilis and a vinegar-garlic mixture you can add in to enhance the broth. To accompany the pho, we also ordered the 4x Guáy and Trúng chán which are fried dough sticks you can dip into the broth and a poached egg. The inside is small but there still enough seating and they were starting to get packed. Shoutout to the great staff too!
google avatar

Norman R.

Yelp
Got the OG!! It was reasonably priced iced coffee, not really special. Tasty but mediocre when it comes to iced coffee. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed while upbeat music played in the background. Most of all the AC was refreshing due to the high humidity in the city.
google avatar

Yelp
The interior of this Northern Vietnamese restaurant is cozy and casual. You order at the counter here and they bring the food out to you after you're seated. Their menu is fairly simple, with four different noodle options and some drinks. Service here is very friendly, and I got to find out at this is (supposedly) the only fully Vietnamese-owned North Viet spot in New York! My friend and I got the Pho tai gau and Pho ap chao. Both bowls were delicious, with light broth and full of meat. Very comforting. They also have a poached egg or fried dough sticks that you can order to enjoy with your pho for a fully Northern pho experience. Otherwise, there's garlic and chili that you can enjoy with your pho! Would love to come back to try their other noodles.

Yelp
Delicious chicken pho!! I come here all the time to eat their chicken pho .. very very clean broth .. just this time the service was disappointing .. the girl was very rude we have 3 person and was asked to eat on 2 seat table so they can have space for another customer and price gone up a lot ..
google avatar

Yelp
I visited on 11/10/24 and tried the Daily Boosts Vietnamese coffee. This was advertised to me as the strongest coffee in the shop by my friendly barista. While it was indeed rich and creamy due to the condensed milk AND whipped cream, it was weak for coffee and very weak for Vietnamese coffee. Otherwise: beautiful interior, friendly service, convenient location right next to the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church (i attended Vietnamese Mass then immediately got my coffee fix here)
google avatar

Alan N.

Yelp
Really great pho. First time having Northern Pho. Different type of noodle. Clean clean broth. I didn't feel greasy or overloaded with salt afterwards. Not sure if they use MSG, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't use any. Limited tables - maybe 5-6? During dinner hours, it might be tough to get a table. We had to share a table with someone because it was so crammed. The pho takes awhile to come out - which might be a good sign that it is legit. Overall I really enjoy the soup and noodles. They have a vinegary pepper condiment on the side. There are no bean sprouts, basil, sriracha or hoisin sauce like traditional pho place. But that was what made this such a great experience too.
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
Tenten was my first time trying Hanoi style pho! It is a really cute small place with limited seats. I got the pho tai and salt mate. The pho here is a clean broth that has a lot of flavor and now I prefer the thicker rice noodles! There is a lot of small pieces of meat inside which are good quality and I think it's so interesting how simple but flavorful everything is. Salt mate coffee was so yummy although not very strong. I will definitely come back sometime and highly recommend!

Yelp
Delicious hanoi pho! I never had it before, but the one made in this shop was worth it. Loved the Pho Tai Gau + Pho Bo Ap Chao - both equally delicious. The fried dough stick was ok. The daily refresher drink was super refreshing - I would reorder this. Staff was very friendly and nice. I will come back here to try their other foods!
google avatar

Danielle D.

Yelp
My first time having Northern Vietnamese pho & it didn't disappoint. The shop is tiny but has several seating options. Very clean. The flavors of the broth & the meat were great. I absolutely love the meat because it was thick yet soft and tender. The thick noodles were amazing as well! The service was fast-- my noodles came out so quick! I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Vivian L.

Yelp
A hole in the wall pho/banh mi spot that has uses good quality ingredients and has a super tasty broth that's not greasy at all. The amount of noodle and toppings were perfect for lunch and the price is pretty good considering it's in new york city. Service was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Grace Y.

Yelp
I came here because I read that it was one of the few spots in NYC offering northen pho, and it was my first time trying it! Northern pho is plainer than southern pho: there are almost no greens, and the noodles are wider, and the meat is different (a tougher cut and fewer different cuts of beef). I was glad I tried it, but I personally prefer southern pho. They also had a good peach iced tea drink with huge slices of peaches. It's a casual spot - pay and then they bring your food to you on a tray.
google avatar

Sandra S.

Yelp
I have never had Hanoi Pho before so I was very excited to try this place as it had a lot of excellent reviews raving on how authentic the food is. I was doing some research on the difference between the typical Pho (southern pho) vs hanoi pho. Interesting to learn that hanoi pho uses wider noodles, pounded beef, clearer broth, and does not offer a plate of herbs. To place your order, you go to the back. Then, you find a place to sit & someone will bring your food items to you. The place is very cozy & small, but there are some tables w/ chairs (for dining in). We ordered to share: 1) Pho Tai Gau, 2) Pho Bo Ap Chao, 3) Fried dough sticks, 4) Daily Refresher drink. Pho Tai Gau - Super delicious! This Vietnamese noodle soup came with flank beef & brisket, scallion, onion, and cilantro. The broth was lighter tasting & the noodle is wider - comparing to the typical saigon pho. I added some lime juice, vinegar + chili sauce and it made the broth even more delicious. It reminded me of a sweet sour broth (tom yum soup), but vietnamese style. Super refreshing + the broth was not salty. The flank beef + brisket were delicious + it had a good amount. I would reorder this! Pho Bo Ap Chao - This was sooo delicious and super flavorful! This Vietnamese noodle soup came w/ sauteed beef shin, garlic, scallion, onion, and cilantro. This noodle soup was more flavorful than the Pho Tai Gau! You can taste the garlic + sauteed beef in the broth. It was delicious by itself + even more delicious after adding chili sauce, vinegar + lime to it. I also would reorder this! Fried dough stick - 4 small fried dough sticks in this appetizer. It reminded me of the chinese crueller. It was savory + crunchy, and when dipped w/ the noodle soup it was even more delicious! I was happy to try this, but would skip this item. Daily Refresher - This drink was super refreshing w/ just the right of sweetness. It is lemongrass-infused peach tea, served with fresh slices of peach and orange. I would reorder this as well! Staff was very friendly and nice. Food was very delicious! I will try the other foods next time I come back!

Yelp
Small quaint place with delicious food. They have Hanoi style pho and the broth was clean and full of flavor. The noodles are delicious. They even have a lunch special, one of the main dishes and a drink for about $20. I got the daily refresher, which was as promised - refreshing. They have chili sauce and vinegar on the table that pairs very well with the noodles.

Yelp
Got a flank beef and brisket pho from @tented_nyc that specializes in Northern Vietnamese pho. It was delicious! The place is pretty new so the space is clean and comfortable even though small. Would be back to try other pho options next time and perhaps a drink as well.

Yelp
Really tasty northern style pho which isn't super common here in NYC. The thicker noodles are pretty unique. The fried dough sticks ($3) were fresh and crispy and paired really well with the noodles. Only gripe is that the pho is on the pricier side at $17 a bowl.
google avatar

Vy T.

Yelp
We got the #1, the #4, the fried dough, and the poached egg. The #4 has a beefier broth that closer resembles bun bo hue, but it wasn't spicy. The #1 is lighter, but still flavorful. The noodles are more like fresh noodles than the packaged noodles that most pho shop serves. The portion is a bit on the small side and I wish it was served hotter. The fried dough was over fried and was not chewy. I wish they fried it a little less since it was overly crispy. The poached egg was expected and tasted like how you would expect. It's a poached egg in the same broth as #1. I rounded up since it's unique and I can't find alternatives to it in the city.
google avatar

Vivian L.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. Even though there are only 4 tables, we were able to get a seat at the table by the entrance. It was very cold that day and cold where we were sitting. The restaurant is casual, you order at the counter and then can seat yourself. There are only 4 phos on the menu, and we both got the #1 with flank beef and brisket. I've never had nothern pho before, and I enjoyed the thick noodles. The noodles were on the softer side, there was a generous portion of meat, and the soup was flavorful. I thought it was expensive compared to typical pho places. I'd come back if I'm in the area and needed a quick and warm meal.
google avatar

Uyen N.

Yelp
One of the few places that have good pho in NYC! The meat is tender, the broth is well-seasoned. They use the correct noodles, and although it is not over-cooked texture-wise, the noodles are broken into small pieces, which I don't like. I don't really like the áp chảo phở since the soy sauce overwhelms other flavors. The restaurant is quite small.
google avatar

Yelp
The Banh mi sandwich here is so unique! Early bird. Fluffy scallion omelette sandwiched between fresh baguette, with crunchy texture from pickled daikon and carrots, fresh and herbaceous notes from cilantro. A straight up satisfying breakfast that wakes up your stomach! The Hanoian. Really love the char siu! Savory and sweet, tender yet not lacking in caramelized edges. The salt-mate. The coffee base is rich and aromatic. It's generously topped with a thick layer of whipped cream. The subtle hint of saltiness really elevates the flavor. Coco- nuts for you. The coffee is carefully stirred into a combination of rich and velvety coconut cream. They blend so well together.

Yelp
Pricy but delicious! We got #1 and the #4. The pho is full bodied and does not need any additional seasoning. Seatingwise, it's bare bones, but don't let the appearance fool you. This place is a gem for pho. The northern style pho with its wide noodles is amazing for cold weather. Tip: add the fried dough to absorb the soup!

Yelp
Woww!! Never had pho that tasted like this, seriously. And it was different in a good way. We got the number 1 and number 4 and it was SO flavorful!! I lovee the noodles they use for this and the broth for both was so so so delicious. I really cant put it into words but I would highly recommend this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside but trust me it's good.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday during lunch time and it was pretty busy. The menu is pretty limited just pho and beverages. I got the pho sot vang and it was really good. The beef broth was super flavorful and delicious. The noodles are thicker and quite different from the usual pho. The beef was also pretty tender and delicious. Overall, an amazing bowl of beef pho.

Yelp
Seats are self serve. Order at the cashier, they bring you the food. Pho broth is really good, the noodles were bundled up... Ordered the salted caramel and number 2 drink (forgot the name) both drinks are good.

Yelp
This place replaces the old mochi donut spot in Baxter. It's newly renovated and clean with enough seats for approx 10 people to sit for a quick bite. However I was disappointed in the sandwich. The cuts of the pork were too thick. The pickled carrots and daikon weren't julienned thin enough and the ratio of vegetable to meat was off. The sandwich is also the on the smaller side for what you pay for. On the plus side the pate was very delicious and porky and the bread is airy, soft yet has a good bite without assaulting your mouth ( I'm looking at you Saigon bahn mi). I am not sure if it's cuz they are new and they need to work out the kinks but I was underwhelmed. Packaging is pretty though ridiculously oversized.

Yelp
One of the better tasting pho you can find in the area. The price is higher than other places locally but taste better but portion sizes also smaller. The place is a lil small bit makes a nice date spot especially with the ice cream store right night door. Service is decently fast.

Yelp
Originally came here for takeout. For the banh mi and noodles to go. The broth and the noodles are pretty good. Not that much meat. The banh mi was more bread than meat. The flavor was there but that's about it. I went back to try the pho in person. Still pretty good. But the portions are on the smaller side for that price. I would go back for the pho again but be sure to eat your things. Not as filling as other places. Would recommend the pho. Banh mi I would pass on. Will try their drinks next time

Yelp
I enjoyed the broth of this pho! The noodles are a lot different than what I am used to, but I liked it. The portion of the pho was slightly disappointing though - and $17! Expensive for the amount we got. I didn't love the space since there were only four tables.

Yelp
Food 5.0/5.0 Service 3.0/5.0 Value 3.0/5.0 Decor 2.5/5.0 Overall 4.5/5.0 I went back to be sure I didn't just happen to catch them on a good day the first time around. I give out very few 5* ratings, but I feel an inner need to bump these folks up. It's a really just a fantastic bowl of pho, and the drinks are pretty good too. Wrapped up in a somewhat quaint, unassuming little shop that these guys are making a run at it with. Note this rating is basically focused sharply on the pho tai gau. I hope this place gets discovered.

Yelp
Tenten is a new favorite of ours in the neighborhood for pho. It's a small, unassuming shop tucked into a relatively quiet block. I'd normally gate-keep, but I do think more people should know about them, and give them a shot. They feature a relatively small menu of well-executed noodles, drinks and seasonal items. Service is friendly, quick and casual.

Yelp
A new Vietnamese sandwich location in Chinatown next door from spongies cafe. $12.50 for the classic Hanoi or roast pork, pate, and pickled vegetables. The bread very light and flaky, probably the airiest banh mi Brad I've ever had. The pate is very stirring in flavor but the roast pork could be sliced thinner. Not enough pickled vegetables to offset the meat and those could be shredded thinner as well. Overall average but they just opened so maybe they're just ironing out the kinks. The plus side is there is a decent amount of seating.

Yelp
Both the OG and the salt-mate were super milky and lacked coffee flavor let along the strong coffee Vietnamese coffee is typically known for

Yelp
Solid 4 stars! This place is cute & quaint and the staff is really kind. I love love love that they offer a mushroom option! I do wish the mushroom was thicker pieces or mixed with fried tofu for a better chomp (and protein.) The peach tea is great but be warned, on the sweeter side! It's also caffeine free which is fantastic. The bread is just a bit too thick for my preference but does make an incredibly filling sandwich. Overall, a nice small business that deserves more love and a higher yelp rating!

Yelp
Checked out this cozy place to try northern pho! Both our broths were definitely lighter than the pho that were used to but yummy nonetheless!

Yelp
@tenten_nyc is a vietnamese restaurant that specializes in northern style pho! there are four options you can choose from. they also sell coffee and other drinks! this is the perfect place to go to on a cold winter day. ft: -#2: rice noodle with beef shin and brisket: the main thing i noticed was that the noodles were wider. the broth was very delicious in terms of flavoring and was perfectly salted. the beef was insanely tender. overall, a pretty good bowl of pho. i got fried dough sticks on the side and i really recommend it. fried dough sticks were a large part of my childhood! -#3: rice noodle with sauteed beef and garlic: the broth in this bowl was noticeably different from the other bowl, and it was quite delicious. it was definitely not the "normal" pho broth flavor that i was imagining, but nevertheless, really delicious. the sautéed beef was seasoned nicely, and definitely added more flavor to the broth. -lemongrass peach tea with fresh peach and orange slices: wow!!! i really loved this drink! the peach was the most prevalent flavor, but mixed well with everything else. it isn't too too peachy which i like. super refreshing! tènten 119 Baxter St Unit B, New York, NY 10013 thank you for having me follow @rebeccatakesnyc for more nyc content!

Yelp
Very small pho spot. There is minimal seating for only 15 people. I order the Tai Gau with my boyfriend along with the refresher and the OG and paid $48 which is very steep for pho compared to other places I've been to. Ok now the people were kind they were very helpful as this is a different style of pho so we had questions they recommended the Tau Gau. Now the pho itself the broth was great it was light and flavorful the beef texture was not my favorite as it was like cut in a way I'm not accustomed to making it chewy but it wasn't terrible just eh. And the noddles since it is a different style I understand how it different but I will continue to go to my regular pho spot down the block. The OG was good I give that a 5/5 packed with good coffee quality along with the one non coffee drink OH refresher which is a little disappointing to non coffee drinks how there is only one option.. it was good but not amazing. Overall I think this is based on one's own preference for pho. The reason for my 3 stars also comes from just the price itself being steep almost $50 when i had pho at other locations for two with drinks for $35.. again not for everyone but if its for you its for you :)
