"Jersey can definitely square up with the big kids (a.k.a. NYC) when it comes to pizza, and if you need proof, just go to Tenth Street. All of their pies have excellently baked crusts, but if it’s your first time, go with a square pizza with toppings like pepperoni and housemade peppers on each half, plus lots of spicy oil on the side.  It’s an ideal starting point for a night out, whether you BYOB with a few friends and hang out in the dining room or take a pie to eat en route to the Ale House for pool and karaoke. Definitely add on an order of the focaccia topped with bufala mozzarella and fried prosciutto, plus some naked meatballs that come with ricotta and roasted garlic.  " - anne cruz, kerry smith, marissa lamastra, michael sinatra

Tenth street pizza Hoboken Only go here if you like your pizza think and crispy. We ordered the rigatoni and a classic pizza. Personally I think the rigatoni had a lot of oil which was making it heavy on the palette. It was one teaspoon away from the US army conquering it for oil 😂. Their pizza is extremely crispy so be ready for that. I personally enjoy that. We sat in the outdoor area which was right next to the exhausts and had no fans so it was pretty warm. The servers weren’t frequent enough which ended up with us waiting a lot from ordering to calling the check. Decor is amazing and cute. Overall it was decent

Need some pizza to dream about? This is the place for you. Crispy edges and sauce an Italian mother would be proud of. Don’t forget it’s BYOB! So bring a bottle and enjoy. Tip: ask for extra parmesan cheese on the side. Fresh and 100% will put a smile on your face.

Very nice dinner as we had a smaller segment of our family there this evening. The pizza is great brick oven pizza. Had a combo pie and a classic. Both were great. Little bit pricey but awesome location.

If you love pizza and pasta …THIS IS A MUST TRY! Highly recommended eating it there are it tastes amazing when right out of the oven; however taking takeout isn’t bad as well. Oh and byob :)

It’s always nice to eat za at the restaurant to consume it fresh but would recommend takeout/delivery for this place. We were one of three tables and waited awhile as they were prioritizing deliveries. Ours could’ve stayed in the oven a touch longer. When we got home, we threw the leftovers in the oven and they were much better 😁

One of the best pizzas we’ve ever had! Delicious. Their homemade chilli oil and hot peppers are remarkable! Our new go to pizza place in Hoboken!

The square pie is to die for! This spot is BYOB as well! The staff has great energy and good service. One of my favorite pizza shops in Hoboken!

If you like thin pizza with good structure and crisp, this is easily the best pizza in Hoboken right now. Tasty and delicious...sauce is great, cheese is perfect. Totally worth dining in as it's so much better when it comes out of the oven and never touches a pizza box...this makes all the difference in the world! Also, BYOB which is a big plus.

Yelp
After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We came here for an early dinner and were seated right away. There wasn't anyone else there except for a small family, who eventually came, but decided to dine outside. The place is small and cozy, with one wall being brick and the other being a plain white wall. The white wall has mounted shelves that are completely covered with green plants and towards the back is a wooden hutch that's filled with bottled drinks. The back wall is comprised of dark brown wood and has a large chalkboard on it. We ordered Margherita with half soppresatta and a tomato salad and loved them both! The pizza had a nice undercarriage and was nice and crispy. Tomato salad was great as well. It had plum tomatoes, red onions, arugula and cucumber. We got here for an early dinner, so we got to enjoy the peace and quiet and the cool a/c in there. Originally, we were going to go to another pizza place in NYC for dinner but we couldn't find any parking because of the outdoor dining sheds and parking rules in NYC. I'm glad we ended up here!

Caroline D.

Yelp
Service was very attentive. The pizza took a while but that is to be expected as it's fresh. The in house made mozzarella was so good and the pizza was perfectly crispy and thin crust. There were heaters for the outdoor seating.

Akshata K.

Yelp
Love the basic margarita pie! It's thin it's crunchy with adequate sauciness and some spicy oil on the side! Tastes amazing in person and when delivered home.

Yelp
I heard good things, and I really wanted to like this place. Pizza was good but not great. The plastic cups for the bring your own wine and $6 bottles of water really made the place seem a little tacky. They didn't have tap water (is that even legal?) so you had to buy water with more plastic cups which do not recycle. I would not go here again unless they become a little eco-friendlier and the pizza gets better. Large plain pie was $29.00 not sure it was worth it? Ambience was good except for the plastic cups. I'm sure glasses would cost less than buying plastic cups for years to come. Take it up a notch and more people would come back.

Yelp
I've had takeout from Tenth Street Pizza a couple times and loved it, so i was excited to dine in and have the pizza fresh. They have a broader menu, but unfortunately when we arrived Saturday at 2pm, they said they were only serving pizza. We got the square, half with arugula and half with pepperoni. This time the pizza came out very, very crunchy. I've had it before where the dough is a little bit softer, and I enjoyed the pizza much more. The arugula is really piled on and tasted super fresh in contrast with the thick cheese topping and the pepperoni. Definitely recommend the arugula as an addition!

Austin C.

Yelp
As a pizza lover I always search to find the best pizza places around and seeing the great reviews Tenth Street received I was pretty excited to go. I went along with a good friend of mine and when we received the pie we were pretty dissatisfied. I understand that it's a very thin style pizza but you can hardly taste anything besides the burnt crisp crust. It wasn't flavorful at all but maybe others find that appealing. The servers were very polite though and the inside was very clean so props for that

Yelp
3.4 is a lie This place rules. We had just finished playing pool at Hoboken Play. We walked over to 10th and Willow for a burger. They were slammed, so we went to the pizza joint across the street....tenth street pasta and pizza. We got the classic pie with pepperoni, hot sausage, and onion. AMAZING On top of the food, the service was excellent. Got sat quickly, food came hot AF. They even cut our last slice in half so we could split it.

Karinah S.

Yelp
I wanted to love it. But I didn't. Ambiance: cute place. Not much going on. Nothing on the table besides the pizza rack. Service: waiter was nice but wasn't too thrilled to be there it seemed. I like friendly and warm, maybe a "how are you?" Or a "welcome". None of that. It was more transactional. Food: after waiting about half an hour after we ordered, the pizza was good. Nothing that was worth the $27 for a plain traditional pie. That was the cheapest. The most expensive was a Bufala pie for $48. The sticker shock is still resonating long after paying the bill. Toppings start at $4 each. We ordered soda, the can and plastic cup was placed on the table. Waiter doesn't pour the drinks. If you want water, there is no table water, you must buy a Poland spring bottle. Only one kind of diet soda. They sell sweatshirts and t shirts with their brand on them. $52 for the hoodie!!!! Who would even buy one for that price?! Lastly, one of the workers decided to spray cleaning solution on the tables next to us while we were still eating. Not only was it kinda rude (why didn't he spray the napkin quietly?!) it was stuck in our throats the entire time, even long after we left. There are plenty of places in Hoboken that would give you way more for $30. It just has this air about it that doesn't match how expensive it is. Prob won't go back.

Mikayla P.

Yelp
Place was great, delicious pizza. A little bit more on the expensive side, but I feel it's worth it especially with the portions you get. Appetizers & pasta were equally as good, so give those a shot as well.

Brittany F.

Yelp
One of my favorites! The food is amazing. Best pizza in Hoboken. The service is always great and the ambiance is a casual pizza place.

alexandria m.

Yelp
Best pizza spot in town! Must get the square pie with pepperoni and sweet peppers. Cute BYOB spot. Their pasta is also very good. There is usually a wait but it's worth it.

Emily P.

Yelp
This is my favorite pizza in Hoboken. If you haven't been here yet, add it to the top of your list. The square pie with pepperoni and pesto is the best thing I have eaten this fall. I only ordered the pesto because I could smell it from another table and could tell how fresh it was. The restaurant itself is dark and loud which isn't a bad thing, but might be tough with kids or if you're trying to have a catch-up with family.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I came here while staying in NJ for the summer and the pizza was good! It's a little bit pricey but the service and food definitely made up for the price. The server was really kind and during the summer the outdoor seating really makes the whole experience really relaxing.

Bloss C.

Yelp
Tenth Street Pizza is pricey and fine. Not the best pizza in the area is the conclusion i've come to after getting take out twice. The pizza crust on the square pie is a little tough and chewy, and i am not the kind of person that is bothered by hard bread. Also I got olives and onions on my pie but the flavors of the toppings weren't very noticeable.

Eric L.

Yelp
Ordered a square pie & broccoli rabe for pickup and they offered a small side of chili oil, which they tucked sideways inside the pizza box. On the walk home the chili oil cracked open, soaking the pizza box in oil and it dripped out all over my clothes. Ruined a good hoodie and that's not even the worst part. The pie had a chewy, rubbery crust, and they gave us meatballs instead of broccoli rabe. The meatballs were extremely dry so it wasn't even a good mistake.

Miriam I.

Yelp
This was my first time coming after hearing rave reviews and it was delicious!! Cool spot in the quieter part of Hoboken. Service was great. I loved the pizza we got with arugula, prosciutto and garlic!! We also asked for their chili oil on the side and it was soooo good on top. We also got the square pizza which I was less of a fan of. It was little too crispy, almost burnt on the bottom. Kind of hard to bite. But all the ingredients were very high quality. Would definitely come for that pizza with arugula again!! Place is also BYOB!

Darsha M.

Yelp
My second time dining at Tenth Street Pizza and I had a better experience the second time around. Our table of 4 ordered one original pie and bruschetta as an appetizer. Bruschetta was nice, a little garlicky than expected but still tasted good. The pie was well done and the crust was crispy! The last time I went the pie was almost burnt and didn't taste well.

Jilesh C.

Yelp
Amazing pizza great service and overall great vibe. Not o it the pizza was good, that pasta was very flavorful and the perfect texture. Will definitely visit again

Michelle R.

Yelp
I was so eager to try the pizza here. Although a bit skeptical because of the mix reviews. I decided to give it a try anyway. For the price - I have to say I expected this to be phenomenal. Sadly I was disappointed as this place did not live up to the expectation I had for it. To start off I felt bamboozled. $36 for basic square pie and pepperoni add on + $8, which equals to almost $45 for a pie - not including tax. That is outrageous. The pizza looked apetizing but tasted hard and the dough seemed dry and chewy. My entire house hold was as disappointed as I was. No one enjoyed it. Maybe I caught them on an off day. I don't know but for those prices, they should be consistent every single time. Someone needs to be in charge of the quality control. Its a shame because I really wanted to enjoy the square pie.

Dolly A.

Yelp
Love coming to tenth st pizza. Their well done pizza (especially the square pie) with the chili oil on the side is on my list of top favorite pizzas.

Elayne W.

Yelp
This place is really a 3.5/5. Called in 2 pies for pickup which took about 30 minutes. Their pies are WELL DONE which for our square pie with meatball and garlic meant a burnt bottom. It wasn't so burnt that it tasted bitter and I wouldn't have minded if it was still a crispy bottom. Maybe it was because we did take out so it was sitting in the box for a little but the bottom was a bit chewy and hard to break off. Otherwise, the toppings and sauce were delicious. I personally preferred the round pie because it was very thin and the bottom wasn't burnt. The pepperoni were these perfectly curled little cups. I also loved that both pies didn't have crusts so you could maximize on the delicious toppings. Both pies came out to $83 without tip which is pretty pricey. At that price point, I would have expected perfection since you can get better quality pies in the city for less.

Mike H.

Yelp
Delicious pizza, but the crust is very thin and crisp like a flatbread. Incredibly tasty, but I'd go for something chewier. 8.5/10 pizza

Anthony P.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas in NJ!! The mozzarella is made in house by the owner daily. Definitely try.

Alison P.

Yelp
Terrible food, terrible service, terrible experience. I was so excited to come here I have only heard great things about this place but my experience was anything but terrible. They prioritized all of the take out pizzas, we waited 1 hour for our pizza and when it came it was not even what we ordered and it was undercooked. They didn't apologize either.

Joe E.

Yelp
If the disgusting Kamatoe Harris wants to start going after any business's that over charge, start here. The pizza is tasty, the dough is a very tough to chew and the price is RIDICULOuS. $27 for a regular pie is a crime.

Lindsay B.

Yelp
Unfortunately have never had a good experience here. The service is always slow and awful, the pizzas are pretty good but not the best. It's nice that it's BYOB but would be nice if they also offered beverages. I've tried to get take out from there and it was a disaster. Took over an hour and they were empty and then when I called multiple times to ask if it was ready they said no and when I finally went in after an hour they said it had already been picked up. There was more confusion for another 10 mins and then finally after almost 1.5 hours I got my cold pizza...

Rachel G.

Yelp
My friend and I went out to eat here on a quiet Sunday evening. We got the square pizza pie and it was delicious - one of the best pizzas I have had! There was perfectly crispy pepperoni on top and the pie was just the right amount of crunchy because it was cooked well done. However, there is a bit of a wait for the pizza due to cooking time. It's a large pizza, so we had leftovers we were able to take home and enjoy later. (Of note, you do have to buy bottled water.)

Stefanie R.

Yelp
Oh how we LOVE this place. The pizza is soooooo amazing. From the sauce to the fresh Parmesan to every single topping we have ever ordered. We have had traditional cheese, meatball and pepperoni toppings. The meats are flavorful and have great texture. The cheese is so fresh and I always need an extra side of fresh grated cheese to top on Everything! The meatballs are delicious and the marinara sauce accompanied by them are great. Can't wait to try their Sunday dinner! Ambiance is cute. Small inside with limited seating and nothing too crazy but definitely a cozy neighborly feel. The service...ehh. When we spoke to the chef herself, she was personable, friendly and knowledgeable. The service staff, could us work. It takes a little for someone to acknowledge you and sometimes they get so busy, being nice isn't a priority. But the food is so amazing we can't stop coming

Lieselle B.

Yelp
Good pizza, but only if you're willing to wait an unreasonable amount of time for it. I get that this isn't chain pizza, but we came on a quiet week night, more than half empty, literally only 5 tables seated in the whole restaurant and our pie still took 40 minutes. I just don't understand how it takes so long. Shame, because the pizza was actually delicious. Good crispy crust. But i cant justify dining in again, cant imagine how chaotic it must be on a busy night. Will only order takeout moving forward.

Sue P.

Yelp
We have been there several times. We have always enjoyed their pizza!! Our favorite is the pizza with the sweet and hot peppers. Would definitely recommend.

Peter F.

Yelp
When it comes to thin pizza, this place has some hits and misses. The baked meatballs were seasoned exceptionally well & delicious to taste. The pepperoni pizza was undeniably delicious, with the perfect balance of flavors and a crispy crust. However, the white pie with prosciutto left much to be desired. While the combination sounded promising, the execution fell short, as the prosciutto seemed a bit overpowering and the flavors didn't harmonize as well. Nevertheless, the friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a decent spot for a casual pizza fix, especially if you stick to the classics.

James D.

Yelp
The pizza is really good. They should really consider taking reservations because we were told :45 and it took us over an 1:30 to get a table. Besides the pizza, the food can be sort of hit or miss, but you go for the pizza and the pizza always delivers.

Oscar D.

Yelp
Heard alot about it, and the apps were awesome, especially the meatballs and antipasta. We had the square pie, which is small than a Sicilian and pretty tasty, especially if u add burrata or ricotta. We had both since our apps came with it. Other pies around us looked amazing! Super thin crust and looked delicious. Definitely a must try

Carlene R.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous!! Square pie with pesto. Have been hearing about this place for a few years now - so happy I was able to work it in when visiting.

JC P.

Yelp
Update. Went last night. Ordered 2 pies one was crunchier than the other although both were nothing like it was prior months. I told the waiter the pizza was undercooked with zero leopard spots and he returned it to reheat. The place is so small I can hear the lady yelling at the staff. I was extremely disappointed. Completely different product than it previously was. The pizza returned crunchier but still didn't represent what they had just a few months prior. Nothing worse than paying 40 bucks and waiting a full hour for a product that is not what you expected. Complete flop.

T. G.

Yelp
Solid. I haven't been back in years but glad I returned! Although the menu is a lot larger than when they first opened, we kept it simple and ordered the classic square pie! We sat inside which was nice, with no wait on a warm Thursday evening. You have to pay for bottled water/drinks, heads up. I believe they are BYOB also. It can take the pizza a while to come out so be patient but it's solid- we ordered 1/2 onion and 1/2 pepperoni. Perfectly cooked, as I asked the waiter please don't make it well done/brunt, since a lot of recent reviews show the bottom burnt and I really wanted to avoid that!! So glad our pie was perfect!!!

Amy C.

Yelp
Hands down best grandma pizza you will get in Hudson county. Do yourself a favor and check out their IG page. My husband and I have made it a point to try nearly all pizza places across Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken and West NY. For years we had yet to find a single pizza spot in this area that came anywhere close to the pizza at one of our beloved spots in Franklin Lakes (Uncle Louie's). Again just talking about the Grandma here. The crust is thin and crispy, and the pizza is cooked well done like a grandma should be! Tasty sauce and toppings. I know many reviewers complain about the price and honestly it kept me back for a while from trying but I assure you it's well worth it. One more note on the price - no one seems to complain much about the 30 locations in a 3 mile radius that sell Neapolitan pies at 15-20 per pie which basically feed one person. These pies at least are bigger and 2 slices should feed a person (depending on how much you eat haha). Looking forward to trying their Sunday dinner sometime in house.

Michele D.

Yelp
A fellow South Bklyn pizza lover wanted to try this one on the Jersey side, I would say it's a pass. The pies are so overpriced, I don't know, maybe there's gold flecks in the pizza that I missed. It's good, yes, (the crust a little tough though, not crispy, tough), but the prices, wow. It just doesn't hold up. For a $40 small pie, I expect some Victor Mature look-alike to come dancing out with it, shirtless and covered with olive oil. No. No pizza ingredients that are that expensive really make any big difference in the taste, and I would do a blindfolded taste test for anyone who says different.

Sun K.

Yelp
Food was great, pizza lived up to the hype. Service was AWFUL. ordered a pie and a house salad. We received the house salad first and my wife and I were satisfied with the food. We're halfway done eating the salad when I pull a plastic piece out from my mouth. I let our waiter know and all he said was "Oh okay, let me know if you find more" and walked away. I was honestly shocked by the response. We weren't looking for any handouts or anything but the salad wasn't taken off our bill, no apologies from any of the other staff members/managers. We finished our meal quickly and left. It's insane how bad service can get.

Tyler O.

Yelp
Great pizza - understaffed and charges for water (which is illegal). Can't complain about quality or the people but they're clearly 3+ people understaffed for a 60 seat establishment. It's worth it until it's not. Charged us for waters... $2.08 each. It was great being a BYOB but won't come back because we tried to leave 48 minutes ago and had to ask 3 separate people to check out. Extremely irritating. Food doesn't outweigh the downsides.

Jeff R.

Yelp
It took almost 15 minutes for a server to even come over after being seated. I should have taken this as a sign that bad things were to come. Order was finally placed and then the waiting started. 45 minutes later we saw tables sat AFTER US receive their food. Turns out order was never even put in. Of course no one ever came by to check on us and we had to chase someone down just to find this out! Totally unacceptable. Didn't even offer to compensate us for their miss. Severe lack of training for the staff and overall carelessness by the restaurant. Try eating here and you may or may not get your food.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Super overpriced pizza. Paid $36 for a simple pepperoni pizza. The sauce was too sweet. Definitely better pizza spots in Hoboken (Basile's!).

Rachel W.

Yelp
Would return! We ordered a square pie, half pepperoni and half with ricotta and meatballs. The crust was crispy and had enough sauce so that it wasn't dry. We came on a Sunday afternoon, probably around 4 or 5, and even though it looked like the restaurant was empty we waited what felt like a while for one pizza. Despite the wait, looking forward to coming back to try more on the menu.

Sebastian H.

Yelp
I had originally tried tenth street early in the pandemic for the first time. We got a regular square pie and thought it was pretty good. We stopped in the other day to try some more food. We started with the naked meatballs. They are served with ricotta, roasted garlic, and rosemary. Great flavor combo. Unfortunately the meatballs were a little on the dense side and still cold in the middle. The plain square had a nice crunch but needed some flavor. The pepperoni was very good. I'm glad they use real pepperoni (the kind that curls). Go check them out. ENJOY!!!

Jon B.

Yelp
So , despite having the worst luck in the world when it comes to pizza, my neighbor assured me this would be different. He was right as he suggested I ordered "The Square" from 10th so I did ! It was great and most importantly - cooked well as they advertise . It was crunchy and flavorful and simply divine . I'm sold and will be back !!

Jim S.

Yelp
My lovely girlfriend and I were craving a good slice a pizza after a long day of work and this spot did not disappoint! We walked in on a beautiful Thursday evening around 7:00pm and were seated right away. We sat outside which was perfect. We started with an order of the meatballs (not the naked meatballs), which came out hot. They were very traditional, came with 3 and sauce on top. For the meal we ordered a pie. We did a square pie, half pepperoni. The crust was cooked to perfection and the food was hot. My girlfriend did complain about how greasy it was, but it was great! We also ordered a side of the hot oil which was a great touch. Overall, casual atmosphere but delicious food. Would recommend for a casual bite to eat in town! BYOB!

Tara J.

Yelp
Used to be better. Got the square pie and I understand it is well done but the crust was hard and hard to chew - also $37 for a plain pizza pie is ridiculous IMO. The naked meatballs were dry and $26?! For 4 small meatballs? Their prices have gotten a little absurd and quality has gone down. They also charge a 4% fee if you pay with a credit card which is nerve when you're charging those prices. I won't be back.

Kevin D.

Yelp
When we arrived to pick up our order we were surprised at the pricing. The gentleman working said the prices on the website are outdated and they don't know how to update the menu and it's been outdated for years. - rigatoni bolognese ($27) was below average - pizza ($30 half plain half pepperoni) is above average - tomato salad ($15) was below average Overall, pizza is great but every time I walk away thinking it's way overpriced.

Dylan O.

Yelp
Alright so... the pizza was objectively just bad. But $27 for a margherita pie? The thing was mostly grease and cheese. Hardly any sauce let alone dough. To top it off I asked for a glass of water but charged with a $2 bottle of water overpriced, bad food, bad service. Wouldn't even look in the direction of this place. Gives jersey pizza a terrible name.
