Tequileros is a hidden gem! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is top-notch, authentic, flavorful Mexican dishes that hit the spot every time. The drinks are just as good (highly recommend the margaritas!). It’s tucked away, so it doesn’t get the foot traffic it deserves, but trust me, it’s worth finding. Support this local spot, you won’t be disappointed!

Family members chose the location for dinner. I was a bit apprehensive when “craft cocktails” are in the name of a restaurant. Service was friendly and very attentive. I did not get our servers name, young lady that was expecting soon. Always had a smile and on top of anything we needed. We received the standard chips and salsa. Chips were nice and warm and had a great crunch. The salsa was just not appetizing, it basically reminded me of tomato sauce. The “other” salsa they offered had a little more flavor, however it was severely salty. The appetizer I received was the chicken tortilla soup ($6.95). First time with a red broth. It was lukewarm. The shredded chicken in the soup was so mashed together, I thought it was cheese. I only had two spoons of it and returned it. They were considerate enough to take it off my bill. My main course was the Beef Steak a la Mexicana ($21.95). Side of guacamole ($2.25) and fresh jalapeños ($1.25/6slices). Guacamole was really good and flavorful. Steak was tender and flavorful and was very enjoyable. The rice and beans were ok. Both were again, lukewarm and not much flavor. I had a mango margarita ($9) and a guava margarita ($9). Both were enjoyable. Needed a bit more tequila in each. There is definitely a demographic that the restaurant is focused on.

Stumbled upon this gem! Beautiful atmosphere and the service was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was amazing. I recommend the Mexican enchiladas! The food is amazing. Give them a try! The pricing is also very reasonable. The service was the best in town friendly and accommodating. Will be back

Google
Very good food. I love the ambiance and staff is very friendly. I love Mexican food so this place called my name after seeing many good reviews on here. The fatijas are juicy and yummy. I got a side of queso instead of sour cream. It is okay. That's the only thing I would rank as meh. My partner really liked the Chile rheano (please forgive spelling) and that was the waitress reccomendation. This place is popping and quite popular on a Saturday night. We came at the right time. I am glad we tried this place. We will be back. It's delicious and some of the best fatiqas I have had. Sopapias are served warm and very good too.i forgot to get a picture becuase we devoured it so fast.

Google
I really like this place. I have been here a few times and the food is always good. It is a place where you can have a couple drinks and watch a game on the televisions. Everyone that works there is friendly. The location is perfect. Right off of Preston road, but easier to get to from the side road. I definitely recommend this place. They also have a happy hour until 7pm.

The first of many times I’ll be visiting! The staff is awesome, the atmosphere is refreshing & the food is amazing!! Thank you Tequileros for a breath of fresh air!

Google
Fantastic food, what a great find. Only been open a year. The food is great, the service is great. If you have gluten issus this is the place to be because about 90% of the menu is gluten sensitive/friendly. I know I forgot to take the picture before starting but it is delicious!

Google
Beautiful small new restaurant. Friendly service. They currently have $5 margaritas that includes flavors for no extra charge. We didn't love the margarita..maybe try their other cocktails which do sound great. The mole enchiladas are great! Probably their #1 dish. I had the Pollo flameado which I did not enjoy. The chicken was rubbery & hard to cut with my knife and there were parts that were super chewy & I couldn't chew it all so I had to spit it out. The rice is well cooked. Their beans have lard in it so not ideal for vegetarians. The salsa was okay. The spicy salsa wasn't spicy for me. I would give this place another try but get the enchiladas instead which seems to be popular. They have limited seating options since it is a small restaurant so come early for dinner rush. The prices are very affordable which is a huge plus! Definitely worth a try. This food does taste authentic Mexican.

Yelp
This spot was highly recommended by some local friends for both food and drink. We stopped by Sunday afternoon and grabbed a high top overlooking the entire restaurant. We were quickly greeted and offered a drink menu profiling the various tequilas. We ordered a couple drinks and some appetizers. Both the food and the drinks were awesome. We had a chance to speak to the owner/operator about the location and he shared the details about the family history of the food menu. It was a wonderful experience and we plan to make this one of our weekly spots. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

Yelp
I'm a bit taken aback by the reviews. To be honest. I couldn't, for the life of me, give Tequileros 5 stars. Unfortunately, didn't take pics either. My friend's daughter had nachos. And I tell you....it was 5-7 round nacho chips on a plate with cheese on it...place under a boiler and walla, nacho meal. The most ridiculous thing I saw them bring out. Her other daughter had cheese quesadilla. The cheese in the quesadilla was 100% cold. I had the shrimp cocktail. Don't use the chips that come with the meal, it broke apart like natures valley granola bar. Just everywhere. Messy. I give it 2 stars b/c our server was attentive and did constantly check on us.

Yelp
A nice restaurant away from all the chains by the mall. We went on a late afternoon on Sunday and it wasn't very busy so the service was very good. Salsa and Chips were brought out quickly, as were the drinks. Several good items on the menu - had a hard time choosing. The food was delicious. Will be happy to return.

Yelp
Jose is the man. Best food and service you can ever ask for. The margaritas are made with love and taste delicious. The fajitas are delicious and the salsa is the perfect mix of heat and taste. Tequileros is the best Mexican food restaurant in Frisco. Period.

Yelp
Tequileros has hands down the best Mole in town! It's so difficult to find a spot that makes Mole and even more difficult to find a place that makes excellent Mole. I thought the Mole had the right amount of chocolate and spice. Yum! My Spicy Shrimp was too salty but the Garlic Shrimp was spectacular. My friend said her Shrimp Quesadillas were amazing. I also enjoyed the chips and dips as the salsas were spicy, just the way I like it! Come out and show it some love as it was ghost town on a Tuesday evening. It's hidden so maybe not the best location in town.

Yelp
Great family owned and run business. Tex Mex food and boy is it good! We had one of the combos and our friend had brisket tacos. The margaritas were on point too. The service was attentive - we were going to see live music after the meal and they were so helpful To get us to the next place right on time. We will be back when we can stay a little longer!

Yelp
Taquileros' is a great neighborhood spot. The food has a home cooked quality that is like a warm hug. The enchiladas were good and the guacamole was second only to my wife's version. The salsa was very good and queso was steaming. Put in a spoonful or two of the spicy salsa and yup!!! The service was attentive and I love patronizing a family business. This clearly gave that impression with a few TVs over the bar and good Spanish music playing at the right level. Lastly the price. You are not going to find this type of homemade food at their very reasonable price anywhere else. Not even fast food. And a $5 margarita, I'll have another please. I look forward to going back and seeing if this becomes my go to casual, neighborhood destination.

Yelp
Great dinner at Tequileros! What a great family-owned business and wonderful food. I had the Carne Guisada. The beef was so tender and full of flavor. So many great looking dishes to try. There is a mix of Tex-Mex and traditional Mexican dishes from Monterey. Do yourself a favor and give Tequileros a try

Yelp
Comfy restaurant with good food. Enjoyed the guacamole, queso and salsa in addition to our main courses. And a well-balanced margarita to top things off.

Yelp
Loved the vibe in this cozy Mexican restaurant where we were immediately greeted by welcoming/attentive staff. Menu with plenty of options including craft cocktails. Food was tasty, recommended the chimichanga, warm tortilla chips and flavorful salsa. Will definitely be back. 4.5/5

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch yesterday, so grateful we did. We were immediately greeted and seated by the kind owner - we chose to sit at the bar. What a lovely place this is, and what a great addition for Frisco!! We really enjoyed chatting with him, and love that this is truly a family business. I chose a house frozen margarita - delicious and a steal at $5!! Husband had a Mezcalita - refreshing and slightly smoky. I'm not much on Mezcal, but I tasted it and it was really good truly a craft cocktail. The chips and salsas were truly a treat. They have their regular salsa which was really good and fresh, a spicy salsa that was even better, and a third extra spicy salsa made with toasted arbol chiles that had the slowest heat build I think I've ever experienced - also really good!! I could have easily just filled up on that. I chose the #2 lunch special of a cheese enchilada with chili con carne, a cheese enchilada with queso, rice and beans. Oh my, it was so good. Husband got the #12 beef enchiladas with chili con carne - I had to have a bite of those too and they were also very good. Everything tasted as if it were made fresh and from scratch. We truly enjoyed it. And the lunch specials are only $9.95, but looking at the dinner menu, their regular prices are really good. I highly recommend you try this spot. Frisco is really lucky to have this place for a dining option!!!

Yelp
My sister chose this restaurant for a family dinner. My veggie fajitas were delicious. My sister said her food was so good she wanted to lick the plate! Lol my husband said it was ok. So it probably depends on what dish you order. My sister-in-law said her meal was delicious too. I like that it's family owned and operated. The food might take longer than expected but you know it's fresh and made to order. Make sure you're not in a rush and it's not "typical Mexican food." Thats not a bad thing, just unique and yummy!

Carla B.

Yelp
Food and prices are great. Staff is friendly and attentive. Has a really cool vibe and a little off the beaten path.

Yelp
Not bad but not good. Employees were awesome. Great attitude very nice. Food was so so. Drinks were ok. I doubt we will be back.

Yelp
Nice place, staff nice, the food is ok at best. I had the chimichanga chicken. Sorry to report it was not good. Really not good. No flavor, little meat, and they didn't cook it right. Rice and beans tasted like it came from a can, no spice / flavor. I don' t like giving poor reviews but since I left most of my meal and I am not feeling right in my stomach, I just had to report so you can save your money. My advice to the owners who spent a lot of money getting this place up, get a good Mexican chief and get higher quality ingredients. A good example of exemplary Mexican food is Mexican Sauger and Mida's Made from scratch, and Don Pablos.
google avatar

Jamie F.

Yelp
I'm literally dumbfounded by the reviews. The place is dark and sparse, service was incredibly slow with a total of maybe 10 people in there. The chips were stale, and the margaritas tasted like nothing. We left without finishing.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday. I love Mexican food so I frequent many of the local ones often. I ordered the Combination #2. which had 2 cheese enchiladas ( 1 w/ queso. 1 w/ a hint of chili con carne ) a ground beef taco and a guac tostada , rice and refried beans. Honestly, I was greatly disappointed. NO flavor in any of the items. .. all tasted the same. ... very bland. I normally do not give reviews of this nature, but am hoping that by leaving this review, it may help them in the future. Sad to say, but Taco Bell has more flavor in their items. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly and hot. But food without flavor is hard to eat.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was nice and super friendly. Assuming they are going to add a little more for atmosphere-kind of sterile right now. Tulip drink was very good.

Yelp
We discovered this restaurant not long after they opened . The food is consistently good . Love the chips and different salsas. We have always been lucky in getting Nadine as our server . The restaurant is pretty . Nice decor with a really nice bar with big TV. Love their spicy margarita. They have great lunch specials Tues -Friday most $11.99- $12.99. They're really good about making small changes. Very accommodating. I think you'll really like this restaurant.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Restaurant is spotless! Salsas are great and they offer two salsa options. Margaritas are amazing and $5. Food was definitely home made and delicious. Family run place. Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Cool New Mexican spot with all the usual staples. Full bar. Looks like they have a DJ at night too. $11.95 combos which is good value for lunch.

Yelp
Great food and great service! Amazing cocktails! The ambience is modern and sleek. Family owned and operated!

Yelp
Craft bar is amazing! No cutting corners there. Food is a tad salty but overall tasty and good. Ambiance is nice, service is superb.
google avatar

Yelp
I had the # 1 - Taco (perfect, great seasoning), Guac tostado (fresh and tasty), another plate had Cheese enchis, one with queso, one with con carne toppings, pork tamale, rice and beans (# 1 for $14.95!). The enchiladas are hidden under the leftover taco toppings I put on them, but rest assured, they were top notch. All delicious with beautiful decor and music (I think) on weekends. Strong reco!!

Bret B.

Yelp
Terrific service with friendly smiles! We had the Number 1 and the Number 2 specials. Very reasonably priced and the food is terrific. You can't go wrong with this family owned restaurant!

Yelp
Went to Tequileros for the first time this weekend. The food was good and tasty. The drinks were well made. Wife had a jarrito and a Bloody Maria. The bloody was a little too spicy, but both got a big thumbs up. I wavered on giving this place a 3 stars if only for something everyone in the restaurant got to witness. This is a small space so there was no chance of missing the events happening at the bar. Two couples were drinking at the bar and were clearly over served. On several occasions, the conversation went from friendly to argument. All throughout the night, they would leave the restaurant for a few minutes at a time, sometime a couple would go out together, sometimes just the men. I don't want to assume what they were doing in the parking lot, but It seemed that when they came back, they were just a little more tipsy. The last time we saw the men come back, one of them was so wasted that I was certain he was going to fall. He kept rocking back and forward on this feet trying to keep his balance. Another red flag was that the bar tender was drinking with the group. Don't know if he is a manager or owner, but it is a bad look. We left shortly after that. The service was ok, but we had to keep hunting the server down. And then, before any desert was offered, the bill came to us. We ordered the churros and they came together with the bill again. After checking the bill, there was an extra drink on it, so we sent it back a second time. It's sad because the food is good and different to other Mexican options in the area. I just don't see this place as somewhere we would return to often unless these issues get addressed. We are still wondering if those 2 couples were driving and made it home safely.

Yelp
I'm not one to typically write reviews, but my meal tasted so amazing I had to stop to take a picture and share. I ordered the #6, two chicken sour cream enchiladas with rice and beans. The dish was served hot and fresh, and displayed picture perfect before I took ginormous bites. For appetizer we ordered a cup of the queso blanco which was great as well with their tortilla chips! Didn't try any drinks but our waitress Olivia was very attentive to ensure our waters were filled and that we were satisfied during our visit. This place is a must try with an inviting and top dining ambiance, and we will definitely be back soon!

Valerie Y.

Yelp
Visited with a group of 6 and our server was very attentive . Food was good, drinks were excellent . The place is small but has the big restraint feel They have a large blank wall, which I think if added some decor; would make it feel a bit warmer & more inviting (just feedback) Overall I would reccomend Love that they have a happy hour I enjoyed my visit

Mike R.

Yelp
First time visiting this tucked-away little spot, but it was really good! I just had the combo quesadillas and sat at the bar, so I didn't need much. Flavor was great, portion size as expected, and the chips were the thick kind I like. Clean bathroom. Nice people. Will be back.

Ginger U.

Yelp
Service 5 Ambiance 4 Food 2 We wanted to try a new place and this was close to home. The queso flamenado was good. The chips were stale so we asked for a new basket. She quickly brought us a new basket but they were just warmed up hot and still stale. The salsa is comparable to Mi Cocina style. The main entrees were not. my husband ordered the steak chimichuago with queso. It was very bland, the meat was tender, didn't come with any sour cream or guac, but it was the queso on top that was the problem. No taste, bland. I had the #2 with enxhiladas, rice, beans, guacamole tostada, and crunchy beef taco. The crunchy beef taco was good. The enchiladas I took one bite and didn't finish. Again, something up with the queso. The chili con carne sauce on top was good. The guacamole - again bland no taste. I out salt in it add hot sauce and moved that around on top. Overall, the crunchy taco and queso flamenado are the two dishes to eat. Unfortunately too many places in the area with way better food. Prices were good!
google avatar

Julee F.

Yelp
The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is sooo good! Try the carne guisada - it's perfection.

Julie C.

Yelp
Love this place!! Food and margaritas were great!! Service was excellent, very attentive. Family owned feel -- we will be back.
google avatar

Tim H.

Yelp
Popped in here to see what it was all about and I will tell you it was awesome! We had just had lunch but we wanted to at least try something so we ordered the beef enchilada dinner....outstanding. Everything is so fresh and full of flavor, the chips nice and crisp but not greasy and the salsa for sure was just made in the kitchen. We will definitely be making this a regular go to place. BTW...did I mention $5 margaritas that are so good!

Shan G.

Yelp
We decided to try Tequileros after finding it on Yelp. We loved every bite! The food is fresh and delicious. **Margaritas are on special for $5 right now.. don't walk, run! We learned this new restaurant is family owned through generations of being in the business, and it shows! Tequileros will be one of our new go-to's! :)
google avatar

J B.

Yelp
This place does not deserve the rating it has in my opinion. Ordered enchiladas mexicanas. Sauce was extremely bitter and salty. Sent this back, got enchiladas with ranchera sauce. Sauce was bland and tasteless. It was like a Gerber baby food carrot purée. No flavor whatsoever. I'm sorry this is the worst Mexican/Tex mex food that I have had to date. Service was ok but I would recommend not going here.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Tequileros is the newest hot spot to check out in Frisco and the hottest place to be at this summer! Service was 10/10 Olivia our waitress is amazing and provided superior hospitality as well during our visit - the food is literally the best Mexican food that Frisco has to offer and the drinks are unique and fun! You have to check it out Tequileros!!
google avatar

Imelda R.

Yelp
New great authentic Mexican restaurant, I recommend this place to anyone looking for good tasting food. Great customer service and ambiance. Didn't have a chance to take a picture of my food. It was too delicious for me to stop eating. Loved the chips and salsa. Rice and beans were delicious. You know that if rice and beans are good, everything else will be delicious. Tequileros added to my FAVORITE FOODS!

Steve J.

Yelp
Tequileros Kitchen & Craft Cocktails is a brand new Mexican restaurant in Frisco that was AMAZING!!! Probably the best Mexican Food I've had in a long time. Their strawberry margaritas were as good as any restaurant around and were only $5. Talked to owners and they were super nice too. They don't start making your food until you order. So not coming from a tray of enchiladas. They are kind of hidden in a new strip center off of Preston. Love to support local owners. Definitely going to be our new go to restaurant.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
I visited the place at lunch and I got a taste of their fajitas and margaritas. Everything tasted great! Their service was quick and their employees were welcoming. I will continue to visit here with my colleagues.
google avatar

Anne N.

Yelp
Great service, yummy sour cream chicken enchiladas, good chips and salsa, and really good $5 house frozen margaritas! Will definitely go back!

Alan W.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting and we were very pleased. The staff was very nice and attentive. They have different salsas, if the mild isn't spicy enough for you. The margaritas were very good. We enjoyed the enchiladas and the chile relleno. Give this place a try if you are in the area.

Sabrina S.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in the area for cheese enchiladas! Food is amazing and prices are reasonable! Everyone here is friendly! If you grew up in San Antonio, you will love this place. Check them out!

Jan D.

Yelp
the food and service were outstanding! I recommend the taco salad And lots of options for margaritas

T C.

Yelp
We went here over the weekend, actually on a Saturday night, right about 6:00. We thought based on the parking that we might have an issue getting in but there were 2 tables left when we arrived thankfully. Our server was very friendly. We ordered a margarita & beer, the margarita was good! I ordered chicken enchiladas they were very good. I will say the food is not as spicy as some places, but I liked that. My husband said his was good too. The place is smaller and kinda "open" vs cozy but the service and food was really good and we will definitely go back.

Mark C.

Yelp
Great plates with several different options to choose from. Preston and Wade in a little retail space

Kathi G.

Yelp
This is some of the better tasting Mexican food we've had in a while! It's a little hidden so that could affect business. Ingredients in my entree were fresh, not heavy or greasy. Good value for dinners...husband had an entree with two enchiladas, tostada, taco, w rice and beans for like 13.99. Enjoyed this first visit and will most certainly return.

Vanessa P.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the staff engaging and the atmosphere unique and understated. Really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back!

Sheb F.

Yelp
This is authentic Tex-Mex!! This family run restaurant had some of the best Carne Guisada you can find. The drinks are top notch with excellent flavors. You will not be disappointed.
