Went to Tequileros for the first time this weekend. The food was good and tasty. The drinks were well made. Wife had a jarrito and a Bloody Maria. The bloody was a little too spicy, but both got a big thumbs up.
I wavered on giving this place a 3 stars if only for something everyone in the restaurant got to witness. This is a small space so there was no chance of missing the events happening at the bar.
Two couples were drinking at the bar and were clearly over served. On several occasions, the conversation went from friendly to argument. All throughout the night, they would leave the restaurant for a few minutes at a time, sometime a couple would go out together, sometimes just the men. I don't want to assume what they were doing in the parking lot, but It seemed that when they came back, they were just a little more tipsy.
The last time we saw the men come back, one of them was so wasted that I was certain he was going to fall. He kept rocking back and forward on this feet trying to keep his balance. Another red flag was that the bar tender was drinking with the group. Don't know if he is a manager or owner, but it is a bad look. We left shortly after that.
The service was ok, but we had to keep hunting the server down. And then, before any desert was offered, the bill came to us. We ordered the churros and they came together with the bill again. After checking the bill, there was an extra drink on it, so we sent it back a second time.
It's sad because the food is good and different to other Mexican options in the area. I just don't see this place as somewhere we would return to often unless these issues get addressed. We are still wondering if those 2 couples were driving and made it home safely.
