"Falling in love with Térèze is almost unquestionable, in part because of its beautiful views, bright picture windows, and the original “tropical chic” design created by the use of different demolition materials. This is to say nothing of its cuisine, which is both convincing and well-structured. The chef at the helm of the kitchen is Pedro Franco, who focuses on fresh, organic cooking with a strong contemporary twist. Meticulous presentations and some truly surprising flavours add to its appeal." - Michelin Inspector

"Tucked within a charming luxury hotel in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, Térèze is so much more than just a “hotel restaurant.” Giant windows allow guests to appreciate one of the best views in the city while tasting inventive dishes created by recently arrived chef Esteban Mateu. Born in Uruguay, with experience at several acclaimed restaurants throughout Latin America (among them Enrique Olvera’s Pujol), Mateu prepares local Brazilian ingredients with pan-Latin flare. Expect dishes like scallops aguachiles and pamonha (Brazilian-style tamales) with organic vegetables." - Rafael Tonon

The service was incredibly slow. We waited an hour for our food at about 2 pm on a slow Thursday. The food arrived and was inedible. The ceviche was incredibly tart with lime juice, almost inedible. Please see photo for a “‘medium” steak…. Keep in mind this steak took an hour to arrive. I would not recommend this restaurant to locals or tourists. I am disappointed and embarrassed that I included this restaurant on the schedule for my group.

One of our favorite brunches in Rio! Hotel also looks amazing.. had we known, we would have stayed here. Santa Teresa is a truly special neighborhood and the hotel, with its history of being a coffee fazenda, with beautiful views, make the setting quite unique. The buffet was delicious and varied, with great options for all food restrictions, and the entrees were also quite well done. The best part was the service.. they made us feel very welcome and were so attentive! We would love to come back one day!

Térèze restaurant strikes the perfect balance between upscale elegance and casual comfort. The dimly lit interior allows the city views to shine through large windows, while the glass-enclosed wine room showcases an impressive international selection. Despite its sophistication, the ambiance is cozy and inviting. The menu is thoughtfully curated and impressively inclusive, with clear indications for vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary needs, ensuring there’s something for everyone. We started with a simple yet high-quality plate of butter, bread, radishes, and salt, setting the tone for the meal. The Tartar de Cogumelos, light and flavorful, was followed by a perfectly cooked and tender steak. The standout dishes were the Gnocchi de Beterraba and the Steak de Namorado au Poivre (which is actually, beautifully, a fish dish). The gnocchi, tender and vibrant, was a visual and culinary delight, while the fish combined buttery, peppery, sweet, and creamy flavors without overwhelming the palate. Located in a charming part of Rio we might not have otherwise visited, Térèze was a delightful experience. The friendly staff, particularly Thiago and Andrew, made our ordering process seamless, even in English. A well-deserved stop during our travels in Brazil.

If you're in the Santa Teresa area, make sure to check out this hidden gem of a restaurant located inside a hotel. As soon as you step through the hotel entrance, you'll feel transported to a different world. Despite not having a reservation, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to snag a table for dinner. The service was excellent at first, but understandably became less attentive as the restaurant got busier. However, it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the evening. While I wasn't a huge fan of the bottle of wine I had, I was enamored by the restaurant's romantic atmosphere and cozy ambiance. The dinner itself was excellent and reasonably priced. Although I didn't have the opportunity to sit by the window, I caught a glimpse of the stunning valley and surrounding mountains from afar. Don't miss out on this restaurant if you're in the area. It's well worth a visit.

One of the best experiences I had in Rio De Janeiro. The food was great. The atmosphere was phenomenal, very nice and beautiful setting. And the staff was extraordinary, everyone was so friendly. Especially Brian who served us that night. For me this is a 5/5!!

Google
Pretty disappointing food for an upscale restaurant - I got the pork belly which was very dry, the skin was fried so much that it was almost impossible to chew and the outer part had an ash-like texture. The octopus was fine but mashed potato that came with it was underwhelming and over salted. The palm heart gazpacho was okay, nothing special, I was expecting more sophisticated flavor. The service and the atmosphere were good

Unfortunately, the service is terribly slow and inefficient. It is not even a language barrier, but more a lack of awareness and being present. It took ages for plates to be cleared, there is no oyster forks at all - although they serve oysters on the menu and are high-end...atmosphere was stiff and it felt like we were an inconvenience to the waiters. Once talking to the server, they were friendly but unattentive services. The food is excellent and delicious. The Foie Gras is great, but tiny 2 pieces of bread - definitely inadequate. Oysters are good, but the lemon balls do not pop like they should. Pork Belly main is excellent. Overall, disappointing. Wouldn't return.

Luxurious flavors, warm hospitality, serene and tasteful ambience. High marks all around. The lobster dish was a generous portion and the dock was perfectly cooked with delicious sides. Brûlée potato purée was magnificent. Would come back.

Yelp
Beautiful property with a nice view but the food for a high end restaurant was average. Nothing bad but just not anything special or unique. Breakfast was also good but nothing notable. It's worth visiting only if your staying on property

Yelp
Went to their Bar area, might be a different menu. Half the food is great, half is deep fried. Even the Risotto is pooled with butter or some kind grease. Delicious but oily. So in short, if they lay off the deep fryer, they got something special.

Yelp
Stayed at the Hotel Santa Teresa thus had both dinner and breakfast here. Definitely worth a visit. The pool area / bar right above provides amazing views of Rio; Tereza's wasn't bad either. Food was good, trendy French / Brazilian cuisine. I'd go back.

Yelp
My hubby took me there for Valentine's day and we had a lovely night with outstanding food and an amazing view. The Chef Damian got some really creative dishes there, a mix of french and brazilian food. As a vegetarian I had no problem finding really nice options for a real dinner! Their staff is very attentive and the restaurant's decor is absolutely fantastic! I would recommend this place for a fancy romantic delicious dinner.

Yelp
This restaurant located in the only R&C hotel in Rio is quite charming, but the food is very overpriced for the quality and taste. Service can be erratic at times. I recommend heading to the bar just to have a drink and nothing else. Careful, prices can be crazy.
