Tero minus the joy.
I am a tero old timer, right from the day it opened. Have been enjoying the food since then on at least once/ month. Mostly every week.
The place used to be full and often difficult to get a last minute place. So when I walked in yesterday to an almost empty restaurant, I felt strange.
We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress who handed us the new ( and very different) menu cards. The seasonal and meticulous fusion of dishes was missing. We ordered an infusion that was nothing more than a piece of ginger and lemon floating in cup of hot water. ( instead of the nice tea pots in old days)
As the dishes started to arrive, the first thing we noticed the industrial style white bowls instead of the nice stoneware that we had earlier.
The food was missing the freshness, the perfect mix of traditional and exotic ingredients and the interesting presentation.
I had never felt any heaviness with tero food earlier. But this time the food was tasteless and heavy, with almost no life in it.
Not sure who changed this but it’s a really bad change. Probably, one more nice creations falling prey to the commercialization. :-(
Very disappointing!
And I don’t understand .
Why people try to “fix” something that isn’t broken.
