"Eataly’s in-store restaurant Terra — which features a wood-burning grill — is offering New Year’s Eve dinner takeout packages for two, four, and eight people. The dinner for two option ($130) includes a salumi platter, honey-roasted ham, roasted Brussels sprouts, coal-roasted potatoes, creamy polenta, and candied fruits for dessert. Orders must be placed by December 27 (email bostonpreorders@eataly.com, or call (617) 807-7300) and can be picked up on December 31." - Terrence Doyle

"Terra, the restaurant on the top floor of Eataly, is supposedly famous for its wood-fired grill and oven. We actually like the greenhouse-style roof and hanging plants more, but hey, we weren’t hired to be part of their marketing team. We were hired, however, to eat food, which is hit or miss here. Most of the grilled items are pretty decent, if a little pricey (the brick chicken is $28, for instance), but we’ve had better pasta elsewhere. Nevertheless, it’s still a great spot to enjoy some vermouth, especially if the outdoor patio is open. Terra is currently open for indoor and outdoor dining, as well as takeout and delivery." - Joel Ang

We finally had a chance to visit and enjoy an early dinner. We started with bread and olive oil, then had the roasted chicken and butternut squash ravioli for our entrees. The atmosphere was lovely—bright and spacious, and we were seated quickly without a crowd. The staff was very attentive, making for a relaxing experience. While the bread and olive oil aren't complimentary, they were definitely worth it—large pieces of sourdough paired with high-quality olive oil. Both entrees were also exceptional, with generous portions and perfect seasoning. The presentation was impressive; the butternut squash ravioli was topped with bits of squash, basil, and fresh Parmesan, while the roasted chicken was incredibly tender, grilled to perfection with a delightful balsamic glaze and a charred flavor that complemented it beautifully. We can’t wait to return and try more dishes!

I had an amazing experience at Terra with my friends! We started with the Prosciutto e Mozzarella appetizer, followed by the Tagliatelle al Ragu di Terra and Mafaldine alla Norcina for our main courses, and everything was absolutely delicious! The staff was warm and welcoming! After we placed our order, he checked in to see if we preferred our dishes served all at once or starting with the appetizer. He was also mindful of any allergies and made sure to follow up regularly to see if we needed anything else. This level of caring service truly enhanced our experience. Also, the atmosphere, with its beautiful lighting, made our evening even more special. I’m looking forward to my next visit for a special event! I highly recommend Terra to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Went for lunch on Sunday, the food is absolutely horrible. The crudo is unflavored, all you taste is fish smell. The steak here is overcooked "medium wagyu" with no pink. If you want somewhere for drinks and dessert, it has great atmosphere, but for food better head downstairs and buy in Eataly

We have dined at Terra multiple times over the years but this time, tried the Prix Fixe menu and enjoyed if immensely. Best deal in Boston. Food, from starter to dessert was amazing, carefully prepared and great flavors. As a person with allergies, I was also comforted by how on top fhe staff were about it. Not long after we sat down, the host came over to review the allergen list with me, went directly to our waiter to touch bases with him, and the waiter reviewed it again with me. As excellent as everything were, the best part of all was our waiter, Christian Gil-so AMAZING, helpful, on top of everything and all of his assigned tables, so hardworking and personable. In this day and age when it is so difficult to find great staff, I hope Terra management realizes what a jewel they have in him. All the runners and assistant wait staff were also super efficient and helpful. Great dining experience as usual but wanted to mention Christian specifically because he really stood out.

I've always liked Eataly but haven't tried Terra yet so decided to give it a try. I was originally curious about Italian skewers but ended up ordering also the aged T bone along with the lobster squid in pasta. I think only the tiramisu and the potato side dish are worth the price. So first of all it's super crowded and you literally next to the other table but I can't fault them to make money. The decoration used a lotof fake flowers and I wouldn't say the setting is anything special. Service is as expected given the price. The food is alright but nothing spectacular so I don't think I would want to return as I'd rather have pizza from Eataly. The skewers are really boring as they are bland without much spice and the cardinal sin of kebab is to only use lean meat which even if tender gives a boring journey for your palate. The veggie kebabs such as the mushrooms actually taste better than meat. The aged T bone is just as expected extremely expensive and although I normally like aged steaks I don't think this is worth the price here. The meat doesn't have the flavorful bite you'd expect from an aged steak. The pasta is a letdown as well as the noodle is too hard so doesn't blend well with the squid ink flavor. Lobster is also slightly dry. The saving grace is the tiramisu which is amazingly good. Overall I think it's an expensive dinner not with the price. I guess Eataly is a good place for simple food such as pasta and pizza but not with going for fine dining.

TL;DR - The place is beautiful and the front of house staff are absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, the entrees are criminally under-seasoned. Dessert is good just avoid the entrees. Food: Pappardelle Cacio e Pepe e Fungh - despite having "pepe" in its name, this dish was missing anything resembling flavor. For a place in such high regard it was exceptionally disappointing. It essentially tastes like plain pasta with some mushrooms in it. It was very watery. We had to ask for salt, pepper, and cheese on the side just to add some sort of flavor to it. To see what one SHOULD taste like, get this dish at Faccia a Faccia around the corner. Shameful. Tagliatelle Al Ragù Di Terra - Much like the dish above, this dish was practically flavorless, most aligning to an under flavored beef stroganoff. This was most certainly not a ragù. Also had to add a LOT of salt, pepper, and cheese to make it edible. Disappointing. Drinks: La Contessa - on paper this is a nice drink but it was overpowered by the lemon. It basically just tasted like lemon juice. Balance is needed and this didn't have it. NEGRONI SBAGLIATO - This was an interesting variation but tasty. Dessert: Gelato - This dish was actually exceptional. The gelato was really well executed. The Cioccolato was the best flavor. Terra - This dish had a very nice flavor but the crumbles on the edge made the overall dish very dry. Consider adding a sauce or a gelato scoop to balance this issue.

We had an excellent time at Terra! Our party of four enjoyed both the service and the food immensely. Initially seated outdoors on the rooftop, we found it a bit breezy and chilly, so we requested to move indoors. The waitstaff were super polite and accommodating, promptly seating us inside without any issues. We started with three appetizers: Burrata e Asparagi, Insalata Estiva, and Salsicce. For our main courses, we ordered Ravioli di Ricotta e Fiori di Zucca, Pollo alla Brace, and Mafaldine alla Norcina. We finished our meal with the Terra dessert. Everything was amazing, and the wood-grilled dishes, their specialty, had a unique and delightful taste. The Terra dessert was so delicious that we demolished it almost within a minute! We highly recommend Terra for an exceptional dining experience
