Houston Restaurant Openings to Know Right Now, April 2025 | Eater Houston

"An Uptown restaurant and speakeasy-style lounge blending contemporary French and American cuisine with dishes ranging from stroganoff pasta and French-dip sandwiches to prawns with polenta and a steak-frites take on a 9-ounce prime filet mignon served with au poivre; cocktails skew bold and playful, including a tequila-forward, Midori-laced Taste of Terra and a muddled-strawberry, Casamigos Blanco–based fruity cocktail." - Brittany Britto Garley

Came in very very unsure due to the outside entrance looking a bit shady. I was greeted by an amazing hostess who made me feel so at home. She gave me a tour and found me a perfect seat. The waitresses make the whole experience worth while. They are so sweet and very helpful. The food ended up being absolutely amazing. I got the salmons deviled eggs and the lamb chops, both were so good. I can’t recommend the salmons deviled eggs enough. The owner/dj was great, very welcoming, awesome music, and genuinely excited to have people in his establishment. Good work Terra 💪.

First impressions were not great. The curb appeal is terrible. It's located in a strip mall right next to a laundry mat with virtually no parking available other than valet in the back. No one was manning the front, but when I got a waitress' attention in the back area, I was given complimentary champagne and taken to a booth. Music and atmosphere were great but it was absolutely empty. My friend and I were the only customers for the entire time we were there 4:30p-6:40p. I ordered off the HH menu and had 3 drinks, the stroganoff pasta, and the salmon fried deviled eggs. Everything was pretty good. Pasta beef pieces were a little too fatty, though, and had some gristle pieces that weren't very appetizing. Drinks were pretty good but were a little bit too watery for my liking. But overall, I would have given it another shot because service was great, and the vibes were there. My friend and I had a great time. That is until the bill came. Imagine my surprise when my bill came out to $92. I found that strange and asked the server if the gratuity was already included, which it was. I found that weird since I've never been pre charged a tip for a group of less than 6 people. Also, my bill wasn't adding up. The device showed that my subtotal was $62, and the final was $92. After I got a printed receipt, it turns out that a delivery fee was charged of $24. That's almost 39%. I've never heard of a place charging almost 40% tip before. Although I had a decent time, I will never be going back to this place again. It's a shame, too, because I would have loved to add it to my rotation of places to hang out. If you want a decent experience but overpriced food and astronomical hidden fees, you can try this place out. Otherwise, save your money for a nice steakhouse instead.

Location is already a tough sell being that it’s next to a laundromat. The inside is well decorated and I appreciated the selection of music along with the food. However, amongst first impressions they didn’t have any mashed potatoes although we were the only table and also we were charged an almost $30 “delivery fee” on a $60 tab for each ticket. Considering that a friend and I tried this place based on a Facebook reel that mentions their reasonable prices for happy hour drinks and bites I should’ve known there was a catch. I’ve been a server myself so I don’t have any issue tipping. I even added extra because of the principal seeing it was a slow day, but I don’t like surprises I won’t be back unfortunately I will leave this spot for the rest.

Don’t be fooled by the front appearance, most park in the back! Inside is like two worlds! It’s way more spacious than you would think! You’re greeted with champagne by a very sweet host. It was busy and the service was still A1! Maria was very attentive and cool. Music and vibes were definitely there. Bathroom entry is great for pics. Food was great! The deviled eggs with the salmon bites were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The sliders were succulent and flavorful! I hardy do reviews. But this place is an underrated hidden gem! Definitely coming back!

When we first walked in, there was no one directing guests—no signage or staff letting us know where to go or where we could sit. After walking from the back to the front, someone finally approached us and sat us down. The atmosphere was okay, but the music was very loud. We couldn’t hear the person next to us unless they were speaking directly into our ear, so we moved to the other side of the lounge, which was slightly better. The service, however, was great. Our waitress noticed we hadn’t been helped and immediately took our drink order—very attentive. Now for the downside: several items on the menu were unavailable. We ended up settling on the salmon bites. They were… just salmon bites. Not exactly the same vibe or presentation we saw on YouTube or TikTok. Maybe Sunday wasn’t the best day to go, although there were still plenty of open sections.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Terra, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone—elegant yet inviting, with a quiet charm that made us feel instantly at ease. The service was nothing short of exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they were serving. They anticipated needs before we voiced them and offered thoughtful wine pairings that perfectly complemented each course. As for the food simply exquisite. Each dish was a celebration of classic French technique with a modern twist, beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The duck confit melted in the mouth, and the citrus beurre blanc on the seared scallops was divine. Even the bread and butter felt elevated.

Decided to try Terra for a night out. The atmosphere was vibrant with great music. I went there for drinks and was blown away by their espresso martini. It was one of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive which made the night even more enjoyable. I didn’t get a chance to try the food, but based on the overall experience, I’ll definitely be returning to explore the menu. Highly recommend.

I recently had a date night at Terra. It was a wonderful experience. From the ambiance to the service received to the FOOD! It was all wonderful! This location is great for date night, girls night, or even a solo date. The staff will make sure you are catered too, blue assisted me while i was there and she was great as well! The deviled eggs, crab dip and lemon drop are an absolute must try! I can’t wait to go back and visit them.
