Agreed that this place is the best bang for your buck if you're craving fried fish! Portions are huge...fish was good , the rice was really good and the leafy green salad was unexpectedly really, really good. Sodas reasonably priced and staff was friendly and quick! Clams needed more seasoning though.

However, the fried calamari I added on the side didn't quite hit the mark. It was missing the expected burst of taste, which contrasted with the otherwise flavorful meal. I washed it all down with a diet coke—the only option since the place doesn't serve alcohol, which suited me just fine. The presentation was no-frills, with the meal served in simple takeaway containers accompanied by disposable utensils. This was ideal for me, especially needing a quick bite after a trip to Staten Island and heading home. So, if you're around the Ferry Terminal and need a fast, delicious seafood dish, this spot could be worth the stop. Really nice fish & chips restaurant downtown. Great pricing by NYC standards. I'm usually not a fan of American style fish & chips, but this place did a great job! There's not much seating as it's more of a takeout spot, but it's right next to a plaza with lots of benches.

Had fish and shrimp combo with green salad. Totally worth the price. Fresh food and wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended!

A different kind of fast food restaurant because they solely specialize in fried and grilled fish, shrimp and seafood all tasty and well prepared with side dishes and sauces. My only disappointment was not being able to eat it there since I took order to go. Their menu is very diverse and reasonably priced.

Went to Terrace fish and chips today because I had been craving fish for over a week. Ordered the special of the day, fried flounder. Their founder must have been less than a quarter inch thick. It felt like biting into dried pork skins with a thin layer of ham in between. The salad was good, the French fries was sub par. I honestly expected much more from a prime location and for the price I paid for. I am very disappointed in the establishment. Feel a bit cheated out on the fish. Only reason they don't have only one star is because their staff treated is very well. The picture is of my co-worker's founder, ordered the same I had.

We stumbled upon this spot because I am a picky eater and was not wanting bar food. Fresh seafood, salad, and veggies! the "seafood" rice was funny because there wasn't any seafood in it... but still good. Lots of fried and fresh options available, even brown rice! I loved that mine dinner came with grilled peppers and sweet potatoes as well. Price is dirt compared to everything else in the city and probably way fresher/healthier than other places as well. If you are wanting something light/ fresh/ affordable I would highly recommend coming here. The owner/cook guy was SO adorable... he was super nice and even helped me charge my phone. I heard him accomodating other patrons food allergies and requests... just an overall good place! Only complaint was the fish and chips was super thin... so way more fry than fish! Other than that, the place was a great little hole in the wall!

I desperately wanted to find a good fried fish place. Terrace look good, so I ordered 2 fish sandwiches and onion rings. The portions of fish was generous but the fish evidently sat on a steam table since the lunch rush. It was so dry that it was inedible. The onion rings looked good in the picture but we're those fake ones made of batter with some minced onion mixed in. Please...someone open a decent fried fish place.

Cute and casual seafood spot in the FIDI for somewhat cheap eats. I've been twice now. First time I got the grilled salmon and shrimp combo with seafood rice and asked for my salad to be put on the side. Second time I got the Cajun tilapia with seafood rice, salad on the side. Both times I paid less than $20. I think you get a good amount of food and it's not bad but it's seriously lacking flavor, and that's when it makes sense why they're so "cheap." It doesn't taste like they season anything. Even the cajun tilapia which could pass for fried fish because of how seasoned it looks, tasted like nothing. In fact, I originally thought the tilapia was fried so I asked for it and to my surprise, was told it only came grilled. They only fry flounder. I don't understand that unless they're using premade fillets. Also not the biggest fan of panko. Everything comes out super quick which could be seen as a pro but it's concerning at the same time. Makes me think that they premake a lot of stuff and are just reheating it, but I hope I'm wrong.

I haven't had Terrace Fish and Chips in a while, the other location is closed so I was happy this one was still standing. It didn't taste as quite as good as I remembered but it was still yummy. I love the fact that the fish is made to order makes it so much better. The fish was crispy and crunchy. The grilled fish was delicious with grilled marks front and center. The seafood rice is always yummy. The menu has a lot of options to choose from and everything is always delicious. I really wish they had more locations.

Great place to get fish fillets in NYC with excellent portions and ambiance! I ordered delivery and the service was quite good as the food got delivered to me in perfect condition despite the thunderstormy weather. The food itself was very filling as they give a lot of rice and salad. The fish was quite good and flakey. You have the option of getting grilled fish or fried fish but I'd probably recommend fried more given the name of the place. It's honestly so hard to find a solid fast food fish place in Manhattan so I'm glad this place exists!

The food tastes fresh, everything is perfectly fried (no rubbery shrimp, or breadcrumbs falling off), and the prices are very good for the amount of food you get. All they need is some sort of flavored lemonade and I'd be in heaven!

This place was amazing..! The seaport was shut down due to a music video being filmed. So, I searched online for fish and chips spot nearby and I stumbled upon this place. It was the closest at 77th pearl street and honestly, it was the most delicious place I have ever eaten fish at. When I tell you it was cooked on site by the sweetest woman who does it all by herself. Great place will go back for sure!!!

Absolutely love this place! I was in the city on Mother's Day for work and found this place while looking for a quick healthy(ish) bite that wasn't overrun with mothers and children doing brunch. Got one of the lunch box combos, this one had salmon, fried shrimp, rice, and a salad. The shrimp were crispy and tender, the salmon was done perfectly and sized just right! Loved the rice with a little hot sauce, and the salad was crisp and fresh! Person behind the counter took my order when I was ready, had the food out in a jiffy, and was overall pleasant in every way! Best part was their outdoor seating is covered and out of the rain and the wind! And all this for right around $15 in the financial district (or close to it) of all places! I'll be going back and looking forward to it!

Purchased: · C2. Fish Strips (2), Shrimp (4) and fries for $10 PROS: · This place had a great value-to-cost ratio. There was a significantly more bang for your buck. It's enough fried food to split with your girlfriend (please see photo). · You get to choose your fish to fry. Though, just go with the Whittish Fish. It's really good and something the lady said was the best in her opionion. The lady there said she didn't really like the Flounder. Sword Fish are larger fishes and contain high levels of mercury. CONS: · No order that was just fish and chips. You had to get one with shrimps in it. (Though, the fried shrimp pieces were really good.) · Tartar sauce was a bit greenish, which I presume comes from cheap relish mixed into the sauce. It would be a big upgrade if they chopped fresh Dill and Taragon prior to the start of the day. IMPRESSION: · Great spot in FiDi to grab food if you're a tourist and wanting to capture a moment on camera with the Charging Bull statue after (just a few blocks away).

I really enjoyed the grilled fish healthy platter with the ginger carrot sauce. However the clams were a little bit of a let down I couldn't taste the meat just the breading. Tartar sauce is good. Will be back to try more!

The food here came out quickly especially since i ordered it once i got there and not in advance. I got the talapia fish and chips which was delicious. I could smeel the yummy fried fish smell through the bag. The French fries were a bit soggy but the fish was nice and crispy. The amount of food given for the price was very decent and affordable.

We ordered the Flounder, Shrimp and Clams and it was all delicious! The flounder was sooooo good and the shrimp, clams and tartar sauce were really good too and the delivery man was very nice and super quick delivery!! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

Grabbed a take-out lunch from Terrace Fish & Chips on Monday afternoon. Solid food for a good price and a concept that you don't find too often. Quality: A simple concept, executed extremely well. Just a few menu items with focu around high quality seafood and french fries. Both came out well. I preferred the Fried Shrimp, which had a bit of sweetness, to my Fried Fish, but very much enjoyed both. The French Fries also came out awesome, crispy yet soft. Quantity: Extremely filling for lunch, I struggled to finish. Value: $12 for the Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, and French Fries Combo. Ambiance: Terrace Fish & Chips is located in the FiDi of Manhattan. A small simple shop, focused on take-out orders. There were a few tables, but no one was really hanging out. A good place for a grab and go meal. Crowd: A few other people grabbing take-out lunch. Service: Great lunch spot considering how fast they get your order out. Parking: Challenging to find parking in the area.

Delicious! The fish and shrimp combo is amazeballs. You get a lot of food, quick and affordable service. It's a good thing I didn't move downtown during the pandemic because I would have lived at this place.

Hole in the wall joint to get some tasty and healthy grilled seafood plates at reasonable prices! NYC is well known for it's celebrity chef joints, Michelin star spots, and expensive hoity-toity eateries. This is surely not one of them. Yet, if you work in or live near the Financial District and yearning for some cheap and tasty eats this is a good choice. It resembles a basic tiny take-out Chinese restaurant, and offers a mix of fried foods for those not worrying about fat or calories, and grilled healthier options for those more health conscious and trying to stay fit. While in the area recently I dropped in for a late lunch of grilled salmon and shrimp over a bed of mixed salad with balsamic dressing. The portion was huge and so worth the low price for seafood. Very satisfying. They have some inside seating by the window, and outside seating if you can find a spot along the streets close by. Feast and people watch at the same time.

I had a moment of craving fish and chips. It was an okay spot. They fried the seafood of your choice and provide some tartar sauce. Simple concept. Nothing fancy. The tartar sauce was nice. Additional tartar sauce will cost extra. The seafood were okay. After eating the 2nd seafood piece, I felt that I order too much fried food. Maybe it was oily. Maybe it was me being grossed out by my fried food selections. Decent spot.

Walked over here on a Thursday afternoon for a quick lunch. Not too big of a line with a steady stream of people coming in and out. Basically your typical fish and chips joint. Order at the counter, food comes out within a few minutes, and take your meal (with some utensils) to go. Decided on the Fried Flounder Meal ($11) - two giant pieces of fried/breaded flounder, a large handful of fries, and a choice of drink. Good value for a Manhattan lunch, the fish is plentiful and the fries are cooked perfectly. What's missing is much of any seasoning - no salt or lemon either. Most of the food had to be carried by the tartar sauce that it comes with. Service here is definitely fast and the value is good. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

No seasoning on the fish or the breading. Food is more breading than fish. Unsalted fries - no salt or pepper shaker in sight.

I order a Fried Shrimp & fish combo with fries. Fish is ok. Shrimp is really good. the star of the combo is the fries. The fries is really good and it does have the potatoes taste.. Overall, everything is good.. I already went back couple times.. :)

Massive portions and good quality for the price. I got the shrimp and scallops with fries and coleslaw, the shrimp were butterflied and battered, so were the scallops. Very good, cute little place near Wall St. Will definitely go back

I've been wanting to try this place out for a while. Finally got myself away from work to scope this place out for a late lunch around 130... I still had to wait so I could tell this place was good. I ordered the fried fish with shrimp and fries. It was a lot of fried goodness but it was worth it. The fish was perfectly cooked in the batter. Great amount of crisp from the batter. Fries - you would think no one can mess up fries but they can..but these fries were nice and crispy. Your meal comes with tartar sauce, hot sauce and ketchup!

Wanted something different for lunch so I decided to venture off to this seafood spot. Wasn't satisfied with the food; the seafood rice was very greasy/oily. However, the Shrimp was crispy and tasty. I will not come back here, just a one and done experience.

Was walking over to get bagels when I had a sudden urge to have fish and chips. There wasn't a big line and the lady at the desk who took my order was really sweet I got the combo C5 which was 2 fried whitey fish with chips and a side of grilled prawns. Sadly to say the side of grilled prawns were he best part of the dish. 8/10 The fish and chips were a 6/10. There was barely any meat on the fish which I was kind of disappointed about. I think if I would come here again I would maybe stick to the grilled or healthy section.

So happy they survived the pandemic!!! There's a reason for that - food is always on point! Love this place.

This place is right behind my work building and I go here from time to time for a quick fried seafood snack. I usually get the fried scallops! The service is super quick and friendly.

DON'T expect British style fish&chips DO expect FiDi prices With that said, their food is good! I like the whiting and chips. I've also tried a fish and chips combo including fried shrimp which was also very good but way too much fried foods for me, I should've swapped the fried shrimp for salad. I'm looking forward to tasting their healthier dishes, grilled fish over a bowl of brown rice and veggies.

A solid place for lunch around FiDi area! I used to come in the store and grab take out when I worked in the area. Few good signs were that it always smelled great in there and always packed. Even on rainy days. I have since moved job locations so not very walkable. I thought why not try calling to see if they deliver to Tribeca area. To my surprise they do deliver to my current job! I do expect to wait about 45 mins or so for the food but its al1 worth it. I plan ahead on days that im feeling for some good fried seafood. Be warned though, that food coma that follows is no joke.

Great little fish and chips place. French fries are the best part of the meal. Only minor trouble, not enough tartar in the cup they provided. If you like tartar with your fish and fries, pay for another.

The food was never disappointed me here. I had fried, grilled fish and shrimp dishes, which were tender and juicy. The line could get pretty long during lunch time. I wish they had better ventilation system because my cloth smelt oily after visiting there.

Decided to try this spot today and the shrimp taste really delicious with the green sauce but the fish I didn't like. The fish had this funny taste maybe it's the type of fish but I didn't like it at all. Well next time I'll skip the fish

Two issues: 1-I ordered the "LB6. Grilled Shrimp Lunch Box" The description says it comes with 8 shrimps, but it only came with 4. 2-The delivery driver was extremely rude. He was waiting in the wrong location, and then he had the nerve to yell at me about not being able to find me.

I really like this place. Around lunch (12-2) it can get a tad bit busy but, it's worth the small wait. I had a fried whiting sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes on whole wheat & it comes with hot sauce, tartar and ketchup as it should. The fish was battered and perfectly fried a nice golden brown color. When you order you can literally see the chef fry the fish which is a plus to me. It also doesn't smell of strong fish which means the fish is fresh ( also another plus for me). They also deliver for those days you can't make it out do the office. Service was also a plus for me as i was greeted with smiles on the walk in.

I ordered my food from this place the order was missing. I called them they said that they have to wait for the delivery guy to come up with the receipts to send the rice and the salad. I waited called them back, finally they said that they're sending the rice and the salads. Delivery guy came give 5 calls in 3 min, because he couldn't for me. I called him back he had the nerve to ask me if I want the delivery or not, like I was begging. I told him that you messed up the order then you should wait for me to come down. When I got down he left called the restaurant back, they said that they will call the guy....been waiting for 10min nothing...... Never ever again!

Wow, what a refreshing spot to get fried fish and shrimps! Clustered with a bunch of other eateries, along with an outdoor seating area (outside the storefront, and then further in the so called square). Be advised people also smoke around here during their break, so you may get a whiff or two of that. Inside, there isn't much seating; two small sections of mounted counter tops and high chairs. On the side that's facing the window you can people watch as tourists/workers walk around. On the flipside, they can watch you stuff your face, so if tartar sauce happens to drip down your chin because you doused your fish in it, wipe it up fast....or let them think you're a slob. The food was so good, I didn't care if I ate like a beast. Mostly a to-go spot. With the food pictures on the walls, fluorescent lighting, sparse seating, and the numbered menu items, it kind of reminds me of a Chinese takeout joint. It's a bit jarring when you walk in. The women are friendly enough -- asking what you want to order, patiently waiting as you decide what you want to get. Food -- Fish sandwich, with fries and an order of cole slaw: -Cole Slaw was so disappointing. Not only was it pretty small for $2, but it lacked any taste or the creamy consistency I had hoped for. That's just what I'm used to in diners. If anything, it seemed dried out and sticky at the same time. Not appetizing and after a small forkful I did not want to eat it anymore. -Fried fish was thin, completely breaded, and perfectly fried, with a nice crunchy bite. The fish flaked off with each bite. Tasted fresh, not overly fishy. -came with whole wheat bread, even without my specifying. Also some ice berg lettuce and tomato slices -Huge portion of French fries. Half a styrofoam container full of them. Thick cut fries too (think the same as Burger King, maybe even a bit thicker), golden, very crisp, and hot/fresh. Only ate a few because the sandwich was so filling. Fried fish, shrimp, and rice platter: The whole container was full of rice , which came with tiny bits of shrimps. Fried fish and shrimps were the same level as the sandwich -- crispy, golden, even breading throughout the entire seafood. No chunks of breading falling off in random spots. Drinks options -- Snapple, water, Pepsi, Spite, Coke, Mountain Dew, Ginger Ale, etc. Lined on the counters are squeeze bottles of ketchup, tartar sauce (delicious! perfect tang from the relish), maybe bbq sauce or hot sauce? I couldn't tell because they weren't labeled. But it was perfect because we definitely refilled our ramekins of tartar sauce repeatedly.

Tried this spot about three weeks ago and have been ordering 2 x's a week ever since. I tried the fried flounder, fried shrimp, fried scallops and fried crab. All perfectly cooked and seasoned. Lightning fast delivery too. My criticism would be once that instead of fries, I ordered the fish with a side salad and the super hot fish on the cold salad made the salad portion a wilted mess. Couldn't eat. Also, the crab sticks should be described as not real crab sticks because they are not real crab legs. I don't care because I love them anyway but some folks might not appreciate it. I didn't like the scallops, found them fishy tasting and prefer the larger diver scallops instead of the little ones. Prices are down to earth and reasonable for the FIDI of NYC. I came here repeatedly while working nearby. The food is excellent - the variety of fish is surprising - and the service is FAST. I've English friends who've become quite addicted to the place ("it reminds me of home" and "a place that smells and tastes like my English fish and chops place"). Not too expensive - well worth it! If you like fish - just go there :)

I hadn't been to this great little fried fish takeout spot in a long time. To be honest I don't know why it had been so long. A buddy of mine mentioned that they had the best fried shrimp he had outside of the gulf area where he hails from. I wasn't planning on going there and frankly hadn't even thought of having anything fried. Suddenly I got the bug and said I'm heading over. You walk in and you are immediately immersed in the smell of delicious fried fish. The place is super busy but operates with incredible efficiency. I ordered the fried shrimp and fries platter which came to $10.88 (including tax). I got eight beautifully prepared pierces of shrimp butterflied and some truly amazing fries with ample supplies of ketchup and hot sauce. I headed back to my office to dine. Everything was still piping hot and was mouth watering. I would eat her more often but then my health might be at issue. The shrimps were not dripping with oily grease like most other places so they were properly drained before being put ion the platter. They are on seamless so I can easily order in if the weather was lousy. Nice people, quick service, great food, and reasonably priced. Count me in. I'll visit more frequently now. Check it out you'll be pleased.

Just had a dinner of thin flounder and French fries. First time customer. The batter was spot on and the fish was great quality. The portions were generous, the team was friendly and even the other customers were in a good mood. It was the best fish and chips I've had in years.

Even though the name is fish and chips, they don't make English fish and chips. The fish is breaded and fried and not beer battered and fried. The portion is big and there are lots of fries, but it's not a meal to have every day. The stars are really beyond the fried fish menu. The healthy options are actually quite worthwhile. Try the grilled salmon and shrimp on salad for example.

Not sure why Terrace Fish & Chip is so highly rated. The batter is thick and the place reminds me of a Chinese take out joint. The calamari tastes better than it looks though. You would expect it to be rubbery, but it was rather tender. I went to Terrace today and ordered their #31 combo, which came with a fried fish, fried shrimps (2), and fried calamari, along with a salad and fried rice, for $9.99. I tried A Salt & Battery earlier this week, and that place blows Terrace out of the water.

I'm a fan of Terrace Fish and Chip! Serving large portions of fresh seafood - grilled or fried, and fast take out service makes this a great option for summer Friday lunches where you can eat outside and gorge on tartar sauce like its going out of style. I paid $9 for the fish and chips, which is pretty decent value/quality for the neighborhood. I received two big filets and rather tasty fries. It came with ketchup and tartar sauce. The fish was great quality and I liked the breading. However, next time I'd consider eating half and saving the rest - it really got to be an overwhelmingly huge portion by the end of the meal, especially since there isn't anything to cut the heaviness of the meal. Or I'll just opt out of fries (but what's the fun in that?) There are only 2-4 seats in the place and they aren't comfortable since there are usually a lot of people standing and waiting for their meals. They make each plate fresh, so wait times can be about 5-7 minutes. The menu also includes seafood burritos and sandwiches and platters, which I have yet to try. But the fried fish is stellar if you're in the mood for tasty fried goodness.

Great fried fish place, good for lunch. Turns around very quickly and portion is excellent. Seating is limited - a couple of bar seats indoor and a few small tables outdoor.

I ordered the flounder & french fries to go for $10.88 (inc tax). I got two large pieces of flounder, which were nicely battered with that kind of crunchy, gritty batter. I realized I like the tempura-type of batter better, but that doesn't affect this review. They did a good fry job. I also got a heaping serving of thicker-cut fries (not steak fries, but not flimsy shoestring fries either). All-in-all a great job. They provide you one container of tartar sauce and a bunch of ketchup and hot sauce packets. However, I got more tartar sauce by just squeezing some they have on their counters into my container (instead of paying for extra sauce). I was also happy to see they had malt vinegar, as I'm a malt vinegar girl! I think this is a good deal for fish & chips, but be prepared to feel like you overdosed on oil!

I visit this place at least 6 to 8 times a month. My go to place for lunch but it's quite expensive but then again it's the FiDi area. The food is very good.
