Terravita Downtown

I visited Terravita on a Tuesday night for a business dinner, and I was really pleased with the experience. We started our meal with the burrata and the short rib croquettes, both of which were outstanding. For my main, I had the yuca gnocchi with short rib, which was a true highlight—absolutely rich and flavorful. My colleague tried the octopus, though I think I enjoyed my plate even more. We finished with two desserts: the baklava, which was a standout without being overly rich, and a deconstructed cheesecake that didn’t quite hit the mark like the other dessert. We also enjoyed a gin and tonic, along with a “Free Day Weekend” cocktail, which was a delicious twist on a pornstar martini, with vodka and passion fruit. We arrived around 6 p.m.—it was quiet at first, but the vibe picked up as the evening went on. The venue is fairly new, having opened in December, and it has a modern, warm, and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly—especially Harold, our server—who gave spot-on recommendations and was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, it was a fantastic dinner, and I would highly recommend Terravita for a business dinner or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the Wall Street area, though it would also be perfect for a weekend visit!

If you think the southern tip of Manhattan is all offices and early dinners, Terravita Downtown will completely change your mind. Tucked all the way down on the border of Financial District and Battery Park City, it’s easy to miss from the outside. But the second you walk in, the entire vibe shifts. Warm lighting, beautiful decor, and an intimate atmosphere that feels intentional without trying too hard. They even had a live violinist playing during dinner, which elevated the whole night in a subtle, elegant way. The food backed it up. The Lebanese lamb hummus was rich and smooth with tender, flavorful lamb layered on top. The crispy Brussels sprouts were caramelized and packed with flavor, not just crunchy for the sake of it. The New York strip steak was my favorite and it was cooked perfectly with a deep sear and finished with bright chimichurri that balanced everything. And the yucca gnocchi was soft, flavorful, and something you don’t see everywhere. Try this if you’re open to something new instead of traditional gnocchi. Even the cocktails were smooth and refreshing, balanced without being overly sweet. Service was warm and genuinely friendly. Constantly checked on us. Attentive without hovering. Everything felt thoughtful. Terravita Downtown may be tucked away , but it’s absolutely worth seeking out.

This restaurant looks and feels its price. One of the most premium and well curated restaurant experiences I’ve had. Outstanding servers and service, great menu (I had the burrata and the salmon), and a nice premium feel to the whole place. I don’t regret spending my money here at all. As a note, the portions may seem small but are more filling than they look. I left comfortably full but not bloated and gross.

Such a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and surprisingly spacious, with an open, welcoming layout that instantly sets the tone. The vibes and location are spot on, making it a place you want to linger. Our experience was made even better by Robert, who was an incredible waiter. He did an amazing job explaining every dish, offering thoughtful recommendations, and making us feel genuinely welcomed. You can tell he truly loves the restaurant and what it stands for, and that enthusiasm really shines through. A fantastic experience all around.

An exceptional dining experience in Downtown. You can tell that Stefanie (the owner) sets high standards for quality and hospitality—the execution was flawless. A special mention to Robert, who provided outstanding service: attentive, professional, and personable. Highly recommended for both the cuisine and the first-class team. I actually found a pearl in one of my oysters – and when I accidentally dropped it, Stefanie didn't hesitate to help me search until we recovered it. That is true dedication.

We are SO HAPPY to have Terravita open downtown in our neighborhood! The food AND service are outstanding! And the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming! So many smiles! We especially loved the fresh oysters on the half shell to start with the tuna tartar with the burrata and lamb hummus! We could’ve ordered the whole appetizer menu, but glad we saved room…The yucca gnocchi in ají amarillo sauce with braised short ribs almost knocked me out of my chair! We also shared the glazed pork ribs and veal lasagna…the sauces and flavors popped! So fresh and delicious! And for dessert…Terra Baklava! Unlike any baklava I’ve ever had, this came with vanilla ice cream, candied pistachios, and tonka bean foam layered with phyllo dough…absolute heaven! We can’t wait to go back and try the rest! And a special shoutout to our super-server Robert! He was so helpful with recommendations and knowledgeable about the food and drinks! Yes we will be back soon! :) We had a perfect evening! My friend visited NYC for the first time and I had to show her the best of what the city has to offer, and so we ended up at Terravita. We absolutely loved it here. The place is beautiful with great privacy lighting, not too dark and not too bright. We were attended by many friendly and knowledgeable staff who gave recommendations based off our main course choice and explained what certain ingredients were. Best part was how accommodating they were—several dishes could be made vegetarian (meat swapped out with mushrooms) and I was told mocktails were possible too. Not easy to find fine dining that’s Muslim-friendly so I greatly appreciated it. I was able to try the vegetarian version of the yucca gnocchi from the reviews and the crispy Brussels sprouts to share. Both were delicious! Unfortunately, we were on a time crunch, and I didn’t get to stay long enough to try the desserts or the mocktails. I will absolutely come back here, though, so I won’t have to worry about that!

WOW! What a marvelous experience. The interior design, lighting, warmth, location, SERVICE! How fortunate is Terravita to have an angelic server like Robert? He helped me decide on vegan-friendly hummus appetizer and unforgettable brussels sprout salad. Filling and flavorful, not to mention the pita bread is to die for. Espresso martini was the best I’ve had. Cannot recommend this venue enough. A true gem.
