The U.S. Wine Industry Is at the Mercy of Climate Change. Hybrid Grapes Can Help. | Eater

"A Missouri vineyard founded by an enthusiast inspired by early 20th-century grape catalogs, this project has focused on reviving and trialing dozens of Indigenous and heritage varieties (starting with roughly 60 varietals). The effort is labor- and knowledge-intensive—tracking nursery sources, transplanting little-known grapes, and monitoring a wide sweep of vines—and reflects a long-term, low-capital approach to restoring grape biodiversity rather than maximizing short-term yield." - Julia Fine

I’m thrilled that this gem is located in the Northland so close to my neighborhood. I’ve been to TerraVox Winery two times now. I enjoy the wine very much. My favorite is their Norton Report. And I’ve had wine from many different regions. The last time we were there, we had a tasting of reds and sampled a variety that included rose. I plan on going back for the chocolate and port wine pairing. The views are amazing! Both times I was there the weather was uncooperative so it was difficult to sit outside, but I’m hoping the next time I go the weather will be better and give me a chance to really enjoy the outdoor patio.

Small batch winery, with some of the most unique wines! So many varietals of Missouri local grapes that are available only on this property. Excellent, engaging team members. Great porch to sip exclusive Missouri wines and nibble on a delectable charcuterie spreads.

My wife and I loved finding this hidden gem! Update: There were some hiccups to our first event but that makes sense for the fact, they had a lot of things to juggle at once. Elizabeth was so kind and helpful. Sweet as pie and very task oriented to help keep a smile on our faces. It was a perfect opportunity to be adventurous. Thank you guys again. Great staff and great energy. Ps. The history of the Vineyard and its grapes is worth a listen. Updated:Just got a callback from a very busy bee at TerraVox. Alyssa is always so attentive and kind! She is a rarity among humans. Our continued thanks to the TerraVox team. We are happily members. Can’t wait for the next event.

Reilly and Kerri made this experience amazing. The knowledge and depth of insight into wineries and the history of wine made from Midwest varieties of grapes was surprisingly complex and layered yet easily absorbed. Judging by the box of wines we took home, the wine is just as much a surprising value. Mich larger selection of ports than most wineries. Definite recommend!

Igloo brunch on a very frigid January day was simply delightful for our group of 6. We tried the Quiche, sausage gravy biscuit bits and the ham egg and cheese croissants. All delicious! And the wine flights were both fantastic! We will be back in the other 3 seasons.

Best Igloo experience ever! The team at Terravox put so much thought and detail into curating a magical experience from start to finish. Our group loved the games and Bluetooth speaker, and really appreciated the space heater and blankets that made for an intimate and cozy little gathering! The snacks were over the top impressive, and the wine was of course delicious. We will definitely be back for brunch and future events!

Excellent experience, will definitely be coming back! History of the winery, education about the particular wine selection, process was great. This was our anniversary celebration and we were very happy with our time. Thank you, TerraVox.

Yelp
Stopped by TerraVox when they had an open house and REALLY enjoyed it! We shared a flight and then grabbed a glass each. The people working were incredibly kind and helpful - suggesting wines they had that I may like based on what other wines I liked. I love their mission - to bring back grapes indigenous to Missouri to people who haven't tried them. Beautiful views of the surrounding land from their patio. Will definitely be back!
