"Have you ever heard of Parlor Pizza? Of patio-and-tax-evasion fame? Texan Taco Bar is owned by the same folks, and is much, much worse. The rooftop is a Big 10 nightmare come to life, and the menu includes things like “quesapizza” and a “Big Tex Taco” that’s exactly what it sounds like: A giant crispy taco filled with lettuce, cheese, and ground beef. That’s the level of nuance you can expect from this place. Unless you want to get sucked into a Midwestern bro vortex, enter at your own risk." - adrian kane

Went for an after work happy hour and it was a pretty good spot on a summer day. Only the second floor was open, you took an elevator up to a full open air bar and patio space. Food was decent and prices were reasonable for happy hour, anything after happy hour hits into that price versus quality comparison and would be a bit too pricey for what it is. Service was pretty quick and responsive, I'd definitely take another big group there after work during the summer. In winter I could see this being a bit less attractive of an option but still one worth considering.

This restaurant has a really unique entrance which adds a cool vibe right from the start. The upstairs bar is huge, but the music was very loud. We were relieved to get seated in their outdoor area which was more enjoyable. The food was great TexMex. My favorite was the steak quesapizza and the fish tacos were also delicious. Maragaritas were good. Our waitress was attentive, gave us great recommendations, and checked on us regularly.

This is a cute speak easy bar love the entrance and it’s huge upstairs. Unfortunately I’ve had better tacos but it was ok, the chips and salsa were delish.

Great signature drinks. Awesome menu, they execute Tex-mex better than a lot of shops in Texas. I’m from Dallas and love this spot. The waitress Judith was excellent & the manager even found time to check on us and introduce himself. 5 Stars

So from the street view, it looks like a fun, busy spot which is open from the 2nd floor, which got us very curious. You entire a secret door, get taken up by an elevator and seated. While it looks pretty cool, I wouldn't return. County music was blasting so my hubby and I are pretty much yelling to speak to each other (and we can't stand country music). Guacamole was the most plain I've ever had at a restaurant. My birria taco was too salty. Hubby had a salad with chicken, which was just ok. Assuming people come here for the ambience but it's not for us. There are so many other places down this street to try. Positives: from the hostess to the waitress to others checking on us, literally everyone was super nice. Bathroom was clean and well kept. And again, the secret door was pretty cool lol.

A Complete Letdown I recently visited Texan Taco Bar, and it was a total disaster from start to finish. The ambiance was dreadful, with outdated decor and dim lighting that made the place feel unwelcoming. The staff seemed uninterested and unfriendly, providing the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. The food was an absolute disappointment. The tacos were bland, poorly made, and lacked any authentic flavor. The ingredients didn’t taste fresh, and the portions were miserably small. It was almost as if no effort was put into the preparation. Even the drinks were below par – the margaritas tasted like diluted syrup with a hint of lime. Cleanliness was another major issue. The tables were sticky, the floors were dirty, and the overall hygiene was highly questionable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, not even for a quick bite. Save your time and money – avoid Texan Taco Bar at all costs. There are plenty of better options out there.

Service was fast the server was great. Food was delicious. We got the texas queso dip for an appetizer followed by bananas foster French toast and BBQ brisket skillet for brunch. Delicious!
