Second time ordering. First was a catering order and everyone loved it. We ordered again tonight and got delivery and it was still warm and packaged great. Food is delicious only complaint is the price. for example this the potato didn’t have too much meat or sour cream for 16 or 17 which is high. It definitely didn’t look the picture stacked with meat. The cornbread muffins were 3 for 6 I think 3/4.50-5 is more realistic. But overall we really like it so 4 stars ⭐️ by the way we love that you make your own stuff and don’t use dyes! keep it up!

We used Taste of Texas to cater a baby shower. The food was fantastic, I have always found catered events to be just ok to good, this was fantastic! The food was hot and fresh. They were on time and set up was flawless. Highly recommend them for your catering needs. We will use them again for sure.

My wife and I just started ordering from here randomly because we were craving bbq. Hands down best decision ever. Absolutely fantastic food. Great portions. Corn bread is absolute flames. It seems we are on par to eat from here once a week. To Texas bbq joint specifically… I love you.

Just threw a Fourth of July party and the food was tasty as usual. Kind of A let down this time because I spent good money on two pans of macaroni and cheese that were only 1/3 to 1/2 full so I docked them a star. That's disappointing because it's not what I've gotten any other time I've used them. So far, I've used them for two graduations & a party of 30 people. I've also recommended them to at least three others who actually did business with them so I docked them another star.

While the cornbread was good and my friends enjoyed their food, I was extremely disappointed at the huge amount of non recycle able plastic they used which was completely unnecessary and irresponsible. Everything, including a single piece of cornbread was served in a disposable plastic clamshell. Just our group alone, threw away 15 plastic containers, glasses and flatware after only using them for fifteen minutes. This is so irresponsible and disrespectful to our environment. If they can’t be bothered to wash dishes, the very least they can do is use paper plates and cups. We will not return to this restaurant because of this terrible waste.

This was my letter to Texas explaining the poor experience. Customer beware if you order delivery and there is a problem Texas doesn't care. They will tell you it's not their problem. To whom it may concern, My name is Maggie. Our family orders from Texas almost weekly. We use you for catering on holidays and have had nothing but good things to say about your business. That unfortunately has changed. Last night we placed close to $100 order for delivery. We never received it. I understand you don't hire delivery directly and are separate but you must contract with them in some way. When I called to get help because the delivery driver wouldn't answer my calls or texts, the girl who answered told me there was nothing she could do and it's not your guy's "problem". She said sorry and that was that. I didnt know what delivery company to call and had absolutely no recourse. I tried to call the restaurant back over 9 times because we had no food. No one answered as they clearly saw my number and didn't want to deal with me. I feel that some help could have been provided. Maybe offer another order at a discounted price. Maybe offer to contact to delivery company and complain in support. I offer these suggestions for the future because that is not how loyal customers should be treated. That's not how hungry families that rely on you to feed them, families that pay you for a service, should be treated. It's so unfortunate. I will share this story with my many friends who have kids graduating this summer and anyone else who will listen because I am so disappointed by the way we were treated.

I’ve been a loyal customer here many times, so I thought this would be a great idea for Father’s Day. I placed my order two hours ahead of the scheduled pickup time, expecting a smooth experience. However, when my husband arrived to pick it up, he was told it wouldn’t be ready until 10pm. After waiting for 45 minutes, he went back inside only to be told that the order hadn’t even been started. This was incredibly disappointing—now it’s 6:30pm on Father’s Day, and we’re left without a planned meal.

We love Texas BBQ Joint. I have used them several times for family events and team dinners. They never disappoint! They are so easy to work with, their prices are very fair, and the food is amazing, especially the cornbread, highly recommend!

This is a 2 review in one... First, a few months ago, my boyfriend and I went to Texas BBQ. My boyfriend was so excited to take me to dinner because I've never been to Texas BBQ before. It was one of those extremely cold days a few months ago in Spencerport, NY. The restaurant was slammed. My boyfriend wanted me to try the pulled pork sandwich and get an extra side of corn bread. He said he's had it before, and it was delicious. So we order up at the bar area, the two girls taking our order were outstandingly kind and fast and helpful.I wrote down their names, but of course I lost the paper with their names because I wanted to make sure that they received a bonus or something extra special for their amazing service that they gave us! We have been back twice now, and I always ask for their names, and I forgot their names again....The two girls that were working had brown hair, both very pretty and accommodating...

My family and I have been coming here since, and it has always been wonderful. Most recently, we ordered our dinner to-go for a pick-up order. When I picked up my order it was missing a few of my items, but I went back inside and they packed them up for me quickly. I ordered the sandwich with two sides for $14. I got the sliced brisket sandwich, mesquite-smoked sliced brisket on a bun, which was delicious. The meat was very tender, and the sauce I chose for it worked perfectly for it. For my two sides, I was sad to see they were out of hush puppies, but I ordered the Cowgirl potato, which was a massive potato, and the baked beans were full of delicious pulled pork and bacon. It really helped pack the flavor! Their cornbread was also super buttery, soft, and they just melted in my mouth. The restaurant has a fair amount of seating inside, with no outdoor seating. We will be back in the future to try even more of their menu items.

Outlaw potato is a great deal. 1 lb if potato and pulled pork. That's my go tooooo. Worth checking out

My husband and I were in the area and walking around the canal and etc. We started to smell that most excellent elixir we call BBQ Smoke and needed to check it out. So to give you an idea this is basically a place you do take out or catering which we saw a lot of orders getting ready. You can sit inside but if you want a beer and such it's a can of this and that. This place is casual and that's just fine. It's all dark woods and some tables around and photos of this and that. We gave our order to who we think might be the owner. I can't say anything about sides or other bbq items other than what we got to go. We got a slab of ribs. Now it's dry rubbed and ( rubs can have myriad of spices and etc) pretty much what you world get in Texas or just rubbed with salt and pepper. This is not a wet rub.. they give you plenty of their house made sauce. Its a little smoky and tangy with a kiss of heat. Now I wished we had asked for but forgot about as this is something you would get even at a take out bbq joint in Texas (yes we lived in Texas) meaning you could just pack it up yourself. Pickles and onions and even jalapeños to have with your bbq. Now I looked over the take out menu and I see that it seems to be available for catering. Thing is I should have just asked for it.. that's on me. The ribs were quite meaty and tasty with just the right amount of seasoning and smokiness. Sure the price point was ok but don't let that detour you. BBQ takes a lotta time and patience and the results here are most excellent. I looked over the menu and the prices are fair and they have all kinds of things to offer. Even a baked potato station. They also have lots of sides but I'm a little concerned about the minimum amount you have to order or if that is basically for catering only? Again ask... I thought they had outdoor seating but maybe not. If you are in the area check it out and get you some bbq. I will be back to try other items. I give them a 4.5/5 Street and municipal parking

I usually go to the west ridge rd location for their monster potato which is sooooo good and worth every penny. Today I was in Spencerport and wanted to try their platters. The place was small which was a good sign to me because the food is usually way better in a "mom and Pop" place. We ordered 2 meat combo platters. So I don't know but O guess you can't call and order over the phone. You have to do it online which kinda sucks for people like me who hate ordering online. I would so much rather speak to a live person. To me that's more personable but I understand this day and age everything is online. Over all the food was good, we got the brisket and rib combo. Both were a little dry, the extra BBQ sauce was needed. There BBQ sauce was good, savory with a touch of sweetness and definitely can taste the vinegar in it. I would of liked a bigger portion of the brisket for the cost. All the sides were good we got Mac n cheese and baked beans which were our favorite. They were very flavorful. The corn was good too, if you don't like spicy don't get it. I like spicy so it was a nice surprise. The fries and coleslaw were good nothing special.

I ate many cornbread muffins all over the USA, this place has the best cornbread muffins!!

Had heard legendary things about their Giant potato and thought they were exaggerating. I ordered the 19$ monster outlaw potato to feed the staff and it was HUMONGOUS. The question I had was which field did they did these guys up? It was probably a foot long and had toppings that made it fill a whole to go box bulging too. Highly recommend. We got the pulled pork on top of it and it was absolutely delicious. Potato was cooked perfectly and the combination of toppings was extraordinary. Ordered the broccoli casserole it was ok- a little oily. Salad was ordered to make us feel better about ourselves but honestly, to have a good time, just order the potato and don't worry about trying to be healthy. you're here to have a good time.

Fantastic! My friend catered a lovely party today from this establishment. Their pull pork was great! First time I ever enjoyed pulled pork, ever! Chicken was good, broccoli casserole was fabulous! Mac n cheese so yummy!

Great food, great service, and great setting. This restaurant makes you feel like you are eating in Texas. One of my favorite places to eat.

Loved the food. Food was served fast. Other than bringing out the food there really wasn't any service. Everything you'd need was at the counter; Doggie boxes, hand wipes, etc.

Great food and the prices are good. Many good entrees to choose from. Comfortable atmosphere, always a good place to go

The brisket was tasty, tender and moist. The side salad was huge and fresh! I also enjoyed the corn muffin. The pulled pork was quite sweet, too sweet for my taste. I also thought that the potato salad was rather bland as it lacked salt. Overall, I was quite happy with my meal and would go back for sure. Additionally, the price was great value for the amount of food you get.

BBQ was mush. No texture, no burnt ends. Cornbread was mush. And way too sweet. Everything is served in plastic, whether eating in or taking out. As environmentally unfriendly a place as I've ever encountered.

Sadly this place has gone downhill. End of November I ordered a meal for my family and the only part that was edible was the mashed potatoes, and fried okra. The rips where burnt, the brisket so tough you couldn't even cut it, the pork no flavor and the corn watery. I contacted the owner who said they would make up for it.. and then they never followed through. I love supporting local but this I was awful.

Imagine a smoked chicken wing that is crisp on the outside yet tender on the inside. These wings are huge! They come with three dipping sauces, blue cheese, ranch and a slightly hot Cajun. Ambiance is western casual and they have beer. Service is great. For a big order, you can order online or by phone. I wait to order so that is still warm when I get home.

Chopped BBQ to much sauce, had one of the big bake potatoes with BBQ meat was to fatty.

First time here! Great food! The fried okra was perfect. The ribs, pulled chicken, pulled pork, and chopped brisket were wonderful! Service was prompt and courteous. Highly recommended.

We ordered online for dinner tonight. Staff is very friendly when we went to pick it up. The bbq is delicious. We frequent here if we want some good bbq. Decent portions for the cost of the meal. They have so many options for meals and sides. Their hush puppies are so good. This is one of the few places the whole family walks away completely happy with all their choices. I was amazed at the size of the salad for a side item. We will definitely have more food left for tomorrow's lunch. Due to covid they have changed their seating options and other items were removed because of covid. No soup for donations for obvious covid restrictions. They packaged the meals to go. They kept the sides separate from the main meats which is helpful. They gave us many sides of bbq sauce and silverware. You can order online which is a very easy process. They also have catering. We had them make our thanksgiving dinner and it was phenomenal.

BBQ was not very good! Dried out and brisket was tough and tasteless. Go to Dinosaur or Sticky Lips!

Fabulous food...Service is pretty quick and food is always top quality..staff is very helpful and friendly every time..one of my favorite places to eat at..Atmosphere is a little too dark, could use a bit of an update..but that's not going to keep me away..

Our party of four were all very satisfied with their meals. I had the brisket, tender, juicy, delicious. Their corn bread tastes like cake, so definitely on the sweeter side which was a good unique. Their cakey corn bread was really yummy. I want more. The best was the Hush puppies though. My friend ordered them and I was very sad I did not. I tried one and it was Godly. I would go back just for the hush puppies. Their sauce is on the tangy-er side. Not bad, I prefer a good smokey full bodied sauce though. This was a bit harsh but it was good. Maybe because the meat was so good,I wasn't really detered from the sauce not being my favorite.

Specials galore! The other night we got a sandwich with two sides for only $7! Their food is delicious and you would pay more at McDonalds! Definitely get take out here!! I had the roast turkey sandwich, fried okra with boom boom sauce and mashed potatoes. YUM. I am very picky about my mashed potatoes... so yes get takeout and support local businesses!

Was hunting down a BBQ joint in the area and figured to give this a go. I wasn't impressed, but still ate what I was given. It took 1hr 20min for the order to be ready. Picked it up and they forgot parts of my order (glad I checked in the car) went back in and got it no problem. I asked if there was BBQ already in the boxes, was told yes and there wasn't. Glad I grabbed some sides when I went in! BBQ: sauce is really good. Nice flavor to it and it's the perfect thickness for dipping. MEAT: Ribs: The ribs were ok. Pretty dry, but if you add BBQ it's good to go. Has a nice flavor to it! Didn't fall off the bone like I hoped. -Brisket: probably the best thing I had. Awesome flavor to it! Would buy again. -Smoked turkey: really dry. Like really really dry. If you coat it in BBQ it was edible. Wouldn't get this again. -Pulled pork: very good! Super flavorful with the right amount of sauce. -Chicken fingers: they're chicken fingers. Not much I can say. Nothing fancy at all. Just your run of the mill chicken fingers get anywhere. SIDES: -Fries: super soggy but in their defense it's take out and I have half an hour drive away. -Coleslaw: Fantastic, would defiantly get it again. Nice flavor to it with a crunch. -Corn: very good, could taste the sweetness while it had some spice to it. -Mashed potatoes: taste like it was made a few days ago. No flavor to it. Taste like the frozen ones ya get in a bag at wegmans but with a better texture. -Corn muffin: best part of the meal.... Overall, It was ok. Nothing special, nothing horrible. I don't think I'd ever crave their food, but will spend time hunting down better food.

I won't ever return, but not because the food wasn't good. It was terrific. It was Friday, March 31, and it was busy, which we come to expect on Friday evening. So when it took an hour for the team to prepare my order of brisket (which was prepared hours before I entered the restaurant), it was a bit befuddling as people who walked in and ordered after I did were receiving their orders. I was able to see the manager interact with many customers as I waited, and he is the reason I won't be back. He was condescending toward customers. After a long wait, my food was ready; he sarcastically thanked me for my patience because he knew my patience was wearing thin after an unreasonably long wait for what I ordered. He followed up by telling me to drive safe with a grin on his face. Instead of apologizing for the long wait for a very simple order, he chooses to grandstand and belittle a customer. For the record, I have never written a negative review, but with so many choices, people have to choose from, go somewhere else. Where the food will be good, but hopefully, the manager won't be so passive aggressive

I have never had a bad experience here. When I crave BBQ, this is where i go. Highly recommend!

We placed a phone order, picked it up and got home and part of the order was incorrect. I called to inform them of the issue and they more than made up for the inconvenience of the return trip. Thank you so much for your excellent customer service!!! The best BBQ around.

So I'm doing a search for restaurants in Spencerport that have vegan items on their menu and this place came up.... but yet I don't see one single vegan item on there.... unless you classify yourself this way because you have a side salad, fries, etc.? Trying to find a place in Spencerport by tomorrow for my birthday.... and I am vegan. Please let me know if I'm overlooking something. Would be great if the burbs started having an option or 2.... !

I love this place. Their BBQ sauce is delicious. It's unlike any BBQ in rochester. Best in Rochester by far. It's a small little joint. We've never eaten inside but order takeout regularly. They have delicious potato salad. I've eaten the brisket, ribs, cornbread (omg the cornbread - get extra, you'll thank me later), French fries, mashed potatoes. Everything is good. They like to throw in a bottle of the bbq sauce if your order is a large order. They start cooking in the early hours of the morning and the delicious BBQ smell fills the air in the village. Whenever I smell it, I have to order it.

We chose Texas BBQ to cater our daughter and son in law's joint baby shower/diaper party for their twins. Richard was super responsive and had great ideas for menu choices. The prices are great and you get your money's worth. That's not even the best part! The food was AMAZING and piping hot. It was delivered on time and set up by Kim. We literally had to do nothing except replenish the pans when they became empty. Everyone complimented us on the meal and no one left hungry. Their mac and cheese is literally the best I've ever had. I will not hesitate to use them again and you all should too! Thank you for making the day a success!

Wow.... I just catered my sons birthday through these guys... Did I say WOW!! My son wanted to go to this other BBQ place Sticky something, but no they couldn't do my catering order " to busy " they said... well I say THANK GOD!! The minute I spoke to the Mgr. (I believe) I knew I was going to love this place... he was so helpful and had a great sense of humor!! My catering order was excellent!! Ribs excellent, Chicken excellent, Brisket Amazing, Mac and Cheese Creamy and delicious, Parmesan potatoes little chunks of heaven , Baked Beans Meaty and Tasty , Coleslaw Creamy Goodness!!! Ohh and the Corn Muffins moist with a little bit of sweetness... Mmmmm .. Everyone at the party loved it!! A huge THANK YOU to Texas Bar-B-Q Joint for making my sons birthday party even better.. I called in an order to be picked up. I asked to have it curbside delivered and they told me no problem. When I got there to pick up my order the phone rang busy for about 10 minutes. Most people would get outta their car and go in, but I'm disabled and can't get into the restaurant even if I brought my wheelchair or scooter. As a couple was entering the "joint" I told them of my predicament and they were glad to help. About 30 seconds later a pretty young lady with a big smile on her face asked "are you Jeff?" She set the bag in my car and wished me well. Great service. But the best part was yet to come... I got home and devoured one of the best racks of ribs I have ever had. I never say the best, because they're all the best in their own way. Tender. Tasty. Moist. As perfect a rack as can be. The corn muffins were great, broccoli casserole awesome. The Mac & cheese my wife had, she was very impressed with. I mixed up a little bit of beans and broccoli casserole... holy !! Absolutely the best take out food we've had in a looooong time. Omg SOOOO GOOOD. I love the pulled pork baked potato. It's insanely good and so gigantic I could never finish in one setting. Definitely recommend.

I stopped for lunch while riding the canal path through Spencerport. I couldn't decide on which meat and how much to order so I kept it simple and went with a pulled pork sandwich. I really like how it's set up as a limited self-service operation with single use containers which gave me the option to take leftovers to go. The sandwich was really good and served on a fresh roll (which makes or breaks a sandwich in my opinion) and came with a cup of bbq to pour on as wanted. Overall. I'm glad I made a pit stop here and will defiantly visit again the next time through! Pulled pork sandwich: $7 and change - well worth it!

Far And away the most disgusting food I have eaten since quarentine began. The quality here is right around dog food. We ordered 3 meats. The 5 ounce pork chop was the size of my thumb and was the fattiest piece of pork I've ever had. The 8 oz sirloin, Half of which was inedible ligaments I fed to the dog and was well done when we ordered medium rare. Last up, chicken fried chicken. They forgot the gravy and as for the chicken if was one quarter gristle one quarterof it was batter and maybe half was edible chicken. They didn't even include my side of macaroni and cheese so no clue there, the onion petals were burnt onion rings, so more crap.( I did call when we realized they shorted us, they said they would give me a credit on my next order. Meh.) The corn muffins were surprisingly solid. My wife enjoyed them and is super picky. The cowboy potato was also pretty good though ours came without bacon for reason. All in all. Maybe they had a bad night? I dunno but it was really REALLY bad.

Found this place on accident and wow what an amazing find. Food was fantastic and service was great. We had ribs, brisket, and the BLT w/ fried green tomatoes. All outstanding. We will be returning. Sorry no photos -- we couldn't bother to stop eating to take any.

Have been there numerous times throughout the years and I have never had a bad meal! Everything is delicious but my favorite are the wings! OMG!! And the fried green tomatoes! Outstanding!!!! Love this place

Love this local place! Food is consistently good, catering is professionally done, and the owner cares about the restaurant and the community!

I am not a big barbecue fan normally, but every meal Ive had here is great. Trying new foods here has been a great experience as the quality of the food is high.

Texas Bar-B-Q Joint has random specials during the week if you follow their Facebook page. We've tried a few of their combo plate deals over the course of the past few months and enjoyed the food we've had, however we especially like their outlaw potatoes, as they are HUUUUGE and decked out with all your favorite toppings! One star deducted as food is not usually hot at pickup time, and sometimes orders have been wrong.

I found myself in Spencerport for work today and when looking for a lunch place a lot of the folks at the conference said to give this a try. We were not disappointed! My friend ordered the cowboy potato which came loaded with butter sour cream cheese bacon and was one of the largest big potatoes I've ever seen! I opted to try a selection of four sides for $7.99. This was a great way to sample a number of things on the menu. Their baked beans are Kickin... But not for vegetarians. Beautiful pieces of bacon and a pulled pork Dotted the beans - saucy and sweet with a tiny touch of heat! Amazing!! My second favorite side was their coleslaw... Creamy and tangy. The Mac salad was an interesting shaped pasta kind of a cork screw fusilli and a bit of black pepper flavor .. The mashed potatoes with brown gravy were tasty although lumpy. At least we knew they were from real potatoes and not a box! A neat note is that they offer free soup either while you wait for takeout or with your meal if your dining in. There is a donation box at the back and you can donate however much you would like and the money is given to a different charity. I think this week it was Spencerport girls soccer kind of a cool way to support a local group.

Out of towner here. Stopped in after a workout and needed some hearty food and was in the mood for BBQ. This place popped up and had good reviews. Cool location right down by the canal in Spencerport and a cozy, dark motif inside. Ordered from the bar and took about 10m for the food. I normally get brisket wherever I go and always get a platter...BUT...did not like the sides offered. I decided to go with the loaded potato and it was LOADED!! Don't get this if you are not hungry because it is a calorie bomb and was very good. The brisket was good but not the best I've ever had. A tad on the dry side which was surprising since the had just opened for the day but pretty solid. My one piece of advice would be to offer some sort of unbreaded vegetable side. For almost every legit Texas BBQ join that have ever been to and I have been to a lot, they offer collards which are an art in an of themselves. Very strange there were no collards on the menu. Overall, a solid place and 4 starts.

Amazing food with great portion sizes and reasonable prices. We went to the Henrietta restaurant a few times before it closed and were happy to find out there was another location. We will definitely be back.

Both the meats and the sides were all amazing! I got the bbq pulled chicken, fried green tomatoes, broccoli cheese casserole, and corn muffin and everything was so so delicious. I definitely recommend this place.

Good food, no frills dining, polite staff. I miss the free soup, it was a nice touch and I always left a tip. It would nice if it were a little brighter inside.

I'm going to give this place five stars. I have been there a lot of times and I wouldn't say that it's always a five-star meal. However, I love it there. My favorite thing to get is the LI potato. It's a potato about the size of your head loaded with all of your potato favorites plus your choice of pulled pork beef or chicken. You could also get the brisket, but I don't like the brisket. There are soups available while you're waiting for your food to get done, it's usually pinto bean or loaded potato. Always choose the pinto bean which usually has giant chunks of rib meat in it. Pro tip: eat at least a whole bowl of soup and bring over half of your potato home for later. Other favorites on the menu are: the chicken fried steak, the chicken fried chicken, the corn bread, and the chocolate chip bread pudding. The ribs are good, too.
