Texas Best Smokehouse Longview

Had the 2 meat combo with drink for $25. The brisket was a half cup of shredded beef, no fat cap. Ribs consisted of 2 bones, only flavor was smoke. You could eat the Mac and cheese by moving your tongue, little texture. Best item on plate was the potato salad.

So my boyfriend and I are at the Hotel across the street and we decided to go get some Smokehouse. I talked to the man who was behind the counter cutting the meat. My bf and I share foods so we can try more new foods. He got the ribs and chicken with the potato salad and pasta salad as sides and I got the brisket I’ve been craving and I was going to get the ham but he suggested turkey with pasta salad and bacon ranch pasta as the sides. His plate: He said the smoke flavor is there in both meats but you need the BBQ sauce for sure. He wasn’t a big fan of the pasta salad because it tastes like it’s vinegar and olive oil but he liked the potato salad and corn bread. My plate: The best thing out of everything is that turkey! It IS NOT dry and it’s fall apart good with that smoke flavor… it’s so good you don’t need BBQ sauce. The brisket was good and juicy and falling apart and that smoked flavor is in it but you still need BBQ sauce but it was REALLY good still. I liked the pasta salad personally minus the raw broccoli LoL and I didn’t care for my bacon ranch pasta but my boyfriend liked it. And I did like the corn bread it was just like jiffy. But between the staff and the food it’s a 5 star rating for me! I would love to go back just to get the turkey for sure! I’m so glad he recommended it to me.

Read the reviews and was torn about trying this place. The turkey is great. Ribs and brisket was good but need the BBQ sauce. Over all worth trying. 3 meat plate and a bottle drink cost just over $30. Also the bathroom was very clean and cute.

It’s a beautiful place but the bbq sadly was not what expected, specially with a name like Best Smokehouse. Got ribs, chicken and brisket, tell me what does it say when the sides have more flavor than the meat? Without the bbq sauce on the side the meat was flavorless and dry, the ribs were somewhat decent though. It’s not in my nature to give bad reviews, but I was really disappointed with this purchase

i miss the food here so much. I used to take runs to texas just to pass by this place. It was the first and best I had. All the menu options are first rate. I live in a place where you cant get food even close to what this is. Eat there and enjoy it, this place is great. Go Go Go its worth the trip

Came all the way from Oklahoma first time eating here . I gotta give them a 4/10 the 3 meat plates with two sides very stingy with the sides for $33 bucks . The food was cold but I was starving so i ate a little bit . The beans cold and chewy the Mac and cheese no flavor and cold . Maybe we’ll try this again some day .

We stopped here while passing through on I-20. We are sure glad we did! They have the cleanest bathrooms you will find anywhere on the interstate. They also have delicious fried pies if you need a snack after your bathroom break!

Absolutely love stopping here. Never disappoints!! They have a little bit of everything, the only thing I wish they had was more vegetarian and vegan options for meals... there isn't a lot of option besides meat. The restrooms there are always extremely nice and clean... however, gas is more expensive. Today, I got a German cake and it was delicious... it needed a little more nuts for my taste but other than that, it was great!

Had a doordash order. Only thing right with order were the sides. Asked for brisket and regular sausage and roll on one, got all jalapeno sausage. The second was brisket and jalapeno sausage and got all sausage and no roll. Was not called or anything because they decided to do what they wanted instead of letting the doordash person know so they could call me. It's been done before when they were out of things.

This food was absolutely terrible! Worst ribs and chicken I've ever had! The chicken was pink inside, I couldn't even eat it. The ribs were so so dry and hard I had to pick what I could. I will say there black eyed peas were pretty good. Banana pudding was okay. My husband had the pulled pork he ate half and put it up. That is absolutely terrible and a waste of money.

I called in an order for chicken, once I got home, realized it was burnt. They did me wrong for this one

We walked in, and a wave of heat hit us. The AC was out. We were seated and soon we had the nachos, which was not good. The chunks of meat were too big and the lettuce was cut in long ribbons which were not suitable for finger food. I'd review all that we ordered for dinner, but as I sit here at my table 30 minutes later, our food still has not come out. I will soon pass out from the heat.

Nowhere close to the "best" experience stopping to get gas. Offers Shell rewards but after entering the rewards info, the machine only takes cash. My copilot when inside to place $50 deposit. Took more than 5 minutes for the pump to work .... after it erased the reward info, robbing us of the promised discount and rewards points. It gets better. copilot goes in to get the $15 due back from the $50 deposit and the cashier tries to refuse to return it. Fortunately, another coworker stepped in but NOT a good experience. well wait to be loved at Luv's going forward!

Everyone's experience will be different due to individual taste, timing, and other factors. My experience was AWESOME!!! Even I'm skeptical that my next visit will be the same. Everything, and I mean everything was some of the best I've had. The pictures will speak for themselves. Meat was tender, juicy, and very tasty. Peach pie was stupid good. Mac and Cheese... Awesome. I even had the Mustard greens which I've only had a few times and they were really good. I tell everybody that that place on that day was my best BBQ experience ever because of the Meat and every side absolutely nailed it!! Do I suggest the place?..... I tell people in Oregon to go there...so Yes!! Use your eyes for the sides and talk to the friendly staff. Get the freshly made sides. The meat will be good no matter what you get...

Good selection of generally tasty, hot food although a bit salty. Sandwich price is good. Other prices a little high. Sign outside is obscured by Shell gas station roof. Noisy inside. Service was good

Customer service is lacking greatly! They harass truck drivers, restrooms weren't clean. I'd rather sit across a guardrail than go back in there. Save yourself time and money go somewhere, anywhere else.

A fantastic step out of the dull drums of an endless drive into a fantasy world of eclectic "stuff"! What a cool place to stop for a rest of the road weary. First the gas is competitively priced for the area... no out of line pricing or tricks. There are quit a few pumps so even as busy as it was both my wife and I found open pumps. The area is very well lit and clean too. Then you walk inside! On the store side there is a true menagerie of merchandise, snacks, drinks, interesting finds, and just flat of things that normal "quick" stops just don't have. It is easy to spend way more time then you thought you ever would just looking around in here. It is also easy to spend more then you intended once you see all you can get and the odd finds. They also have a Jerky bar... with bunches of selection. The other side offers several sit down or take a way food options as well. Lots of choices for the hungry and needy road warrior. The whole location was clean, well staffed, friendly and just top notch! A GREAT unexpected stop that we will sure stop at again when we are back this way.

It's hard to find beef ribs around at barbecue places but saw they had them here and that's what I came for. Wouldn't have normally tried it as it's like a gas station passing by, but it was actually pretty nice regardless and the beef rib certainly did not disappoint.

This deserves a great review in my book because the BBQ is great (not fatty or greasy), the sides are plentiful and also great, it's fast and the price is right. I always have leftovers to take home, so it's like 2 meals in one. The desserts are good, too. Great service!

I'm on a low carb diet and was nervous to eat here because I'd have to turn down baked beans, potatoes, Mac n cheese, and BBQ sauce. The vegetables were really good and the ribs were excellent even without sauce.

Apparently there is a fade policy on the free bbq sandwich receipts. I could clearly read and confirm my receipt to him for him because they were older, but just because they couldn't read it they made a massive deal about the free sandwich.

Very good food! I discovered this interstate gem right at 6 years ago when going on a business trip to Dallas. Just by chance I pulled off the interstate, truly because my bladder was about to bust, and stumbled on this establishment. I'm a bar b que fanatic and smelled the awesomeness as soon as I went through the door. The whole place is cool. There's a sonic and nice convenient store all in one. The bathrooms are nice as well. I didn't eat at this time, but made a mental note to stop here on my return from Dallas on Sunday. Yes, they're open Sunday, most bar b que places are not. Well worth the trip. Delicious and very nice portions. It's a little pricey, everything is these days, but because it's as good as it is, worth it. I got the triple meat box with two sides and had enough for two meals, and I'm a big ole boy! If in the area I encourage you to give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

Only giving 1 star because I can't leave a ZERO like they deserve! A good friend of mine, her husband, and 3 children were in the middle of eating when they got kicked out for her breastfeeding her infant! Texas law clearly states she is well within her rights to feed her child anywhere! The "manager" even called the police on them! DO NOT eat here...they are not family friendly and like to discriminate.

Coming back from out of town and wanted some BBQ Brisket. Let me begin by saying that this is the worst and most driest brisket I have ever had. Make sure to pick up a drink. Overall not worth the price for the brisket sandwich that was dry. Definitely get your BBQ somewhere else.

We have eaten the Texas Cow Pattie here a couple of times. A to-go box covered on the bottom with chili cheese fritos then layered on top with cheese, jalapeños, brisket meat, sausage chunks, beans....and we added sour cream. This was delicious and we got it because the guy in line in front of us told us to try it. They have a plate lunch type line too with vegetables and meats and daily specials. There is a Sonic at the end as well. Beef Jerky, Fried Pies, etc.......a lot of food scattered around in here.

This always a pit stop for us on the way to visit family. Good clean restrooms and good snack and beverage options.. For me I usually have to get some fried pies each time we stop. Delicious!

This is the best BBQ here in longview!! I always get the bake potato loaded with brisket!

It's in a gas station. That should be the first clue. We shared a baked potato with brisket. It was very large. I watched her bring it out of the warming oven wrapped in foil. Key word is "warming". It wasn't hot. The brisket tasted fatty. It was better than burger king.

Pros: Anticipated wait time was 55min; however, order was ready in 15min. Cons: Most items listed on the menu wasn't available even though it allows you to order. Overall: Staff did their best to accommodate and substitute, but if there's something in particular you're wanting you might want to call the location prior.

So glad I stopped here to get gas. Clean restrooms and super nice cashiers. There is a lot going on inside so it is easy to get lost on what to get or where to even look. I tried the fried pies(apple and peach), and they were really good(nothing spectacular, but good). They also have hot food(Southern) if you are hungry.

Overpriced for what you get. The bbq is ok and there are lots of choices for sides. But it's just too expensive per person and there are better bbq places around. You're paying for convenience.

Excellent sausage, potato salad and steak fries! Non-spicy sausage still has a peppery kick. Highly recommended with a large sweet iced tea!

The brisket sammie was far better than Bucees brisket. Tender and full flavor. We won't hesitate to to stop just for the sliced brisket sandwich. Don't miss the sauce and the spicy carrots their a nice addition to more flavor. Thanks ladies for great service.

My order of all beef brisket big Tex was a little bland. Wish there was a little more bark to add flavor. Adding there signature sauce helped. Buns are buttered and toasted. Everyone that enters is greeting with a warm welcome. Love these guys offer the cobblers as a side and not a separate dessert. Worth a visit when your in a rush or need to get back on the road.

Food was very good if you're looking for a quick reasonably priced BBQ, the workers were very nice and gave good suggestions since they do have a lot of side options, And best of all they carry original fried pies in almost every flavor, definitely worth the stop!

Stopped here yesterday for the first time Wow what a cool place They have everything from beer and wine to hot sauces BBQ sauce flavored popcorn cloths jerky(bison alligator elk) Sandwiches and awesome BBQ ! Restrooms are very clean Food is excellent Limited parking for big trucks. About 10-12 spots If you haven't been in there you must !

This is a fun place to stop when traveling. We stayed in a hotel nearby and were greatly appreciative for having really good food near by. Stephanie was an essentially helpful server. The range of food from bon bins to home cooking in addition to all kinds of beverages and shopping makes this a great find!

Ok, I was a little hesitant to eat at a place that was technically a truck stop, but Yelp has never steered me wrong yet, so I gave it a shot. And BOY, was I glad I did! I got the 3 rib dinner and they were pretty much the best ribs I'd ever had. Tender, falling off the bone, perfectly sauced...I was in heaven. And they have tons of sides to chose from, so there's lots of variety. My boyfriend had the brisket with black-eyed peas and he was equally happy. The people there are all really friendly, and the place was surprisingly clean and nice for a truck stop. After we ate, we window-shopped through all the funny, kitschy stuff they have. If you're a tourist and passing by, this place is a MUST. It's charming, fun, and the food is delicious and amazingly affordable. (Less than $10 a person for dinner if you opt to get water instead of soda for your drink, which I generally do, anyway.) If you went to a more upscale steakhouse, you'd probably be spending almost double that, and would probably have to deal with crabby waiters, so it's win-win all around!

Pulled pork and bbq here is good. I really like their greens as well. Kind of a big place in a gas station, but it doesn't taste like cheap, gas station food.

Great food and top quality people. The wounded warrior parking spot had me sold. Anytime I go home to Atlanta from Arlington I will stop in and give these fine people my business.

My review is on just the bbq not the sides. The bbq is delicious, the sides are your basic cafeteria fare. From now on we will just get the bbq to go and make the sides at home! The brisket was amazing!!

First time at this travel plaza with the smokehouse,so stopped here during noon hour for lunch. No one eating at the tables or in line. Got $13.99 two meat meal (good price)with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. Meat was brisket and Turkey. The brisket had good flavor but kinda mushy. It came chopped with the poured over sauce that might be why. Turkey was alright-not much smokey flavor. The sides were stone cold. The bbq sauce was pretty bad :( the unsweetened ice tea was just water and didnt taste like it was brewed correctly. Dont like soda or sweet tea so that was a bummer and a waste. :( and let me say pretty jealous of the pics listed bc those portions were way bigger then mine!!!!! Service through out travel plaza store is excellent. Bbq area-the new older lady appeared high? Not engageing and Not responsive to customer interaction. Her glassed over shiny eyes were hard to miss and zoned out. Just new and overwhelmed? Idk. She needed further training before being left alone to serve customers. The bathrooms were spotless-no toilet seat covers-bring your own. The bakery goods are tasty-bought dessert to go. I'd come back but not sure about eating the bbq bc it was pricey for the small amount of food spooned out. I mean REALLY tiny sides where the lady wasnt sure how to dish the food. Then I had to heat it myself in the microwave immediately after purchasing- which means my dine in order was taken to my truck just to have warm mashed potatoes and mac :( Love the store! Stopped to fuel up and found all kinds of other stuff! There is a regular restaurant here! Wish we had been hungry so we could have had some of their good looking buffet; and I would have eaten here due to actual servers and a sneeze guard. Also available is a wonderful assortment of cakes and goodies. There are Texas souvenirs galore

This is my favorite road-trip stop to get lunch, a bathroom break, and petrol. The staff is so friendly every time I come in. The smokehouse inside has pretty good food.

We came to this just before class. A lot of times it's very good for the last couple of trips through this area if we stop by and the quality has gone down. This time just closing we buy 15 hours with food and it's not even enough for one person. Last time we come by here. Sonic was better and that says alot

Ordered bbq plate. Sliced brisket was nothing but fat. Pinto beans had no flavor. The only thing I liked was the sauce. Dont waist your time go to Carter's

Great location! When you imagine a truck stop in Texas this is what it should be. Big boy rocking chairs out front, Stylish wooden furniture indoors, Clean banos, Kolaches, Sonic burgers, Boiled greens with meat scraps and corn bread, Huge selection of dried jerky, Smoked meat by the pound(the brisket was so tender I had to scoop it up by hand) A warm batch of spicy marron BBQ sauce with a ladle that can smother like a mother! Oh yea and don't forget why you came in, sixer of tall boys and a "Don't Mess With Texas" bottle opener key chain on the way out.

Its been a minute since ive reviewed a place. Having always passed this little spot off the highway and having a major craving for BBQ I think it was a no brainer I made a pit stop inside. Upon arrival was greeted by the outside entertainment of a man singing (), lets just say the food is much better than the entertainment. While walking in you cant help but be overwhelmed by the abundance of items it has to offer. It is a gas station/restaurant/gift shop after all. Once you process everything youre then lead to corner of the restaurant. Upon first glance everything looks fresh and hot. Things I love to see when food is involved. I proceeded to order the brisket combo, which basically is meat and two sides. I order the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. I also wanted to try to peach cobbler but I take it they hear when I asked for it which is fine. A minor over sight. I had to get my meal to go unfortunately as I had to run. Cracking open the white Styrofoam container and viewing the contents within I began to chow down. Tender, moist, flavorful bits of brisket and bbq sauce filled my mouth. Next I sampled the red potato mash, a nice creamy buttery flavor followed. Last I then proceeded to try the mac and cheese. This however was the mild let down. It appeared to be a standard mac and cheese sauce coated with an already cheese sauce. You could also tell that by looking at it. I would have preferred a good old fashioned granny type of cheesy goey mac instead of the processed mac. Overall everything was still finger licking good... no copyright infringement to KFC. Its a must stop if needing fuel or simply because youre hungry. I give 6.5 forks of 7

I stopped by here not expecting much and was so surprised when I walked in. There's a ton of food and snacks to chose from, as well as souvenirs. Very clean and organized. I ordered their rib plate which came with mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and corn bread. All super tasty. The Sonic in there was convenient - I ordered onion rings and drinks. There was also lots of desserts to choose from but I didn't get a chance to try it. Def stop by if you're in the area to get gas and a great meal.

Let me preface this by saying I've only been here once... With that being said, I was still very impressed with the place. Very neat. Conveniently located by a gas station, other restaurants, and the bus station. I didn't get to order the barbecue because I didn't have enough time, but I can say that it smelled great. I just ordered a tuna sandwich from the convenience store attached to it, and it was really good. If I am ever back in Longview, I will surely give it another shot!

Very clean, clean restrooms, nice food choices, and lots of stuff to buy or just look at. This is a great place to stretch your legs, refuel the car and body....and reload the car with snacks!

We stopped here for gas and bathroom break and loved this place!! So clean, we bought a cream cheese brownie and blue bell ice cream. This store also featured a Sonic Drive thru and also BBQ. Highly recommend stopping here! Bathrooms we nice and clean and so was the store! Appreciated the kind workers also!
