This is your definite GO TO for authentic Vietnamese desserts, hands down! I ordered the Chè Ba Màu, Chè Thái, Bánh bèo, Bánh Cam, Bánh bao, and a mung bean jello dessert. Whether savory or sweet, this restaurant has it. Parking is horrific and the lines are long, but patience is key if you want some of these sweets. Bring CASH only and brush up on your Vietnamese language. Also, you have to be a bit aggressive when ordering. Wave your hand when it’s your turn or else they will miss you and go to the next person. Overall, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for Che.

Always this place for amazing Vietnamese desserts (chè)! The staff is so friendly, even if you’re not fluent in Vietnamese. This was my regular when I lived nearby, and I still make a point to come back whenever I’m visiting family.

Be prepared, no one speaks English there. So I guess it’s an authentic Vietnamese place. But you can still order by pointing to the food lol. Not sure if it’s a CASH ONLY store, but no one use card. Food is good, a bit too sweet for me.

My sis bought a bunch of desserts chè and sticky rice to try. My sister like the cơm rượu here. Their banana, casava ball , and coconut cream was good. Their steam banana and cococo nut cream was also good. The banana was sweet and tender. I would come back for these 3 things. The mungbean sticky rice was alright. but the unnatural yellow color was a turn off. Their corn dessert was ok. Not a lot of corn, mostly sticky rice. The coconut cream here is just alright, too much flour The bánh tằm khoai mì was not good. Not much casava, too much flour, and no pandan flavor just food coloring. The only good here is the ground sesame topping. I would recommend them to use real pandan flavor. That's what the good about Vietnamese dessert. Make quality stuff and increase the price is fine. Stop using or use less food coloring please , it's such a turn off. I can see myself come back for a few items and avoid anything with colors.

My favorite Vietnamese dessert store. Everything taste amazing. Wish I could eat everything, every time I visit. The line kind of sucks. If you go in peak hours, be prepared to wait. It’s worth the wait for sure. The workers there are nice and do their best to keep the line moving but the nature of the business limits movement due to indecisive people taking longer than needed. It is a to go restaurant, not a sit down.

I’ve been a customer of this place for so many years (10+) and I am still coming back as their desserts are very flavorful and with the price, just make sure you bring some cash with you or you won’t be able to buy as they only accept cash. They use many natural ingredients on their desserts and the service is great even when some of them aren’t fluent in English and that doesn’t stop them from giving you good service.

Tri-color dessert was lacking in mung beans, since it had mainly white beans (65%) and red beans (25%), there were barely any mung beans in it. Not the best nor the worse, but certainly lacking in the overall flavor and profile.

My friend said we needed to make a stop here on our drive past. It did not disappoint. I haven't had a lot of Vietnamese desserts, but I felt like a kid in a candy store. I like to try new foods and flavors and there was so much to choose from. There was a line out the door and it is cash only. The staff worked quickly to move people through. Other staff was refilling items from the kitchen in the back. I bought a tapioca drink (#3), Sponge cake, and sweet rice. I also couldn't pass up the coconut cream with tapioca and plantains (my favorite!), and colorful sponge balls (maybe sour dough?). I'm sorry I don't remember the Vietnamese names, I just pointed and they loaded up my bag.

Always super long line here and I am surprised they don't have better ratings. So many kinds of desserts and good variety if sticky rice. I try to not going overboard because everything is good here.

Great place to stop by for a variety of Vietnamese desserts. They sell everything ranging from sticky rice to drinks. It can be a bit chaotic and hard to order if you don't speak Vietnamese but the staff are all extremely friendly.

If I could I would give -0 stars. I don't expect customer svs in this kind of place. But to skip me in line helped someone else. Yelling at me in front of other customer saying bc I was on the fone when she didn't greet me to say it's my turned. I WALKED OUT. There's so many places like this around that I can spend my money. I love this place. It's great. Best part? They accept Zelle!! I've been coming to this place for the past 15+ years. Only thing that has changed would be prices due to inflation. It's great food! I always get the com ruou (in the fridge), the Banh de Lon, the xoi gac (orange sticky rice), and the Che Thai. Their biggest seller is the Che Thai! Parking is tough and lots of homeless around which sucks but everything else is great. Superb service and superb viet dessert.

Zero star for service here! The worst service I've ever had in my life! Employers don't know how to do their job! I came in today around 5pm, they kept serving customers who came in after me while I was waiting!!! When I asked for their help, one of the ladies barked at me, she said that I had to wait for them to help the others (customers who came after me) first!!! It was a mess!!! Don't come here if you don't want high blood pressure and waist your time!! Nhân viên ở đây không biết cách phục vụ khách hàng. Phục vụ khách đến sau trong khi khách đến trước đứng chờ!! A casual spot for Vietnamese bites and desserts! I came here after lunch one day to get some che and there were so many different kinds. I ultimately ended up getting a Che Ba Mau while my brother got a Che Thai. Both were good but I felt as if there was a lot more ice than toppings. This shop also offers a number of other Vietnamese pastries, small meals, and savory foods that we got to eat for later. Overall, it was a pretty decent spot!

I recently tried the Vietnamese desserts from this place, and they were pretty good! I ordered everything to go, and the process was easy and fast. However, keep in mind that desserts like Che Ba Mau, which come with ice, might not be as cold or icy as you'd like if you plan to eat them right away. They also provide nuoc dua with the desserts that include it. One tip: bring cash, as it's more convenient. Overall, a solid spot for tasty Vietnamese sweets on the go! ---

CASH ONLY FYI! This spot is good & has ample amount of che. What you may know as hot che, they serve them all room temp/cold. There's no written prices so you'll have to ask or wait for the total. They even had a version of fried sticky rice and banana (like a little rectangle). They serve it with a side of sweetened coconut milk. The cups they have -- do have lids but they don't hold on tightly. So if you're driving far, you have to keep a close eye on them otherwise they will spill. We got che Thai, che bap, che chuoi, and that one big rice ball (I think) in the sweet syrup. As well as some different xoi. No seating inside, strictly to go. Parking is ok since it's in a big strip mall section so there's many choices. I can only speak for the che Thai but it was pretty yummy. I like that the coconut milk took on the color of the red rubies (so it was a light pink color). The red rubies weren't clumpy and were beautifully cooked. They added banh lot to it, omgg my favorite. The jackfruit was sweet and so was the other fruit. And they even had nata de coco. 10/10! This one was nice, but the one on Westminster (next to 7Leaves) had better price deals! Here, it costed about $22!

More authentic desserts and did not over sweeten the desserts. Midday runs will be missing some if their signatures such as sesame mung bean balls. Their mixed che was so delicious and fresh and I really love how they paid attention to the sugar content. I have tried another place a few blocks away and they fell short of the quality that this shop produces. The Che with the mixed jackfruit so so delicious and the fruit was crunchy and sweet. I'm definitely coming here only now.

Upon entering, you will no doubt be so in awed by the colors of VIETNAM. The desserts here are both beautiful in color and taste. There's a big variety of desserts from Che to sweet sticky rice. Everything was delicious. They also graciously package things well when you order takeout. Make sure you ask for the ice and coconut cream to be separate for takeout to keep the items fresher. Ambiance could be chaotic since the shop is small and the decor has not changed since I was a kid but everything still tastes great all the same. Very friendly service as far as Vietnamese places go haha. Only downside is it's cash only, which is a big inconvenience in this day and age.

My ladies have everything I like including sesame balls with mung bean filling. I don't know what they cost but 30 of them was 10 bucks lol Speak Vietnamese for extra credit, otherwise, you'll still be ok :) Pandan jelly dessert and tons of other options. Try to bring cash but they secretly accept Zelle!

Came in here and thankfully you don't need to be fluent to order. Lol. I know what some of the times are but have no idea what they're called so I pointed. The cashier thankfully was nice, very patient. She has good service and asked if we were gonna eat now or later. If later, she seperates the coconut sauce for you.

I usually came to Thanh Che Hien Khánh on Westminster . Today it's was closed so I came here the one on Bolsa the parking can be tricky here . This is as authentic as Vietnamese desserts . There's always a line but it moves pretty fast. The lady that served me was wearing gloves and didn't change it when she took the cash from the previous customer. Touching every surface at the cash register. The place only takes cash and doesn't even have enough gloves to change or the staff is just being lazy . They handle cash and pack food for customer as same gloves. I like to came back but I feel no sanitary environment there. Hope everyone pays attention while waiting in that long line.

This is a must-stop for me when I come down to this part of town. If you are ever cravings for dessert this is a must. This place has every Vietnamese dessert you can think of. You have all your favorite che, pandan, mung bean, you name it they have it. They also have different Vietnamese drinks. My favorite thing here has to be their sesame balls. They are a smaller version. They have mung bean inside and are very nice and crispy. It is the perfect ratio of both ingredients. There is always a line out the door but the service more quicker. Remember to bring cash. Overall, an awesome place for desserts for you or to bring to a party.

Still the standard for fresh and fairly priced Vietnamese dessert and snacks. Many of the ladies serving out the treats don't speak English though so you just point at what you want. No prices listed either so you just gotta go with the flow.

The good: I've been to this location a handful of times and it's definitely the top che (Vietnamese dessert pudding) place in the OC. They also have flan and delicious pastries like sugar coated bánh cam (sesame ball with mung bean inside). I also tried a green pandan sticky dessert that was soft, fresh and not too sweet (the ultimate Asian compliment). I've tried their white bean che, corn che, three color che, sương sa hạt luu & others and they were all above average. They also have a variety of sweet sticky rices. The bad: It doesn't have as big of a selection as their other location. There's often a wait out the door. There was a beggar inside standing close to customers and interrupting them as they were ordering to ask for money. There's no outdoor seating so people mostly take their che home or eat it elsewhere. The interesting: This che shop is as old as I am (est 1988)!

Authentic che spot, my go to is the che thai. It's a little difficult to order if you don't speak Vietnamese, but the staff is helpful!

Place to get a variety of desserts with reasonable prices and quick service. So many choices.

CASH ONLY. Most items range from $4 to $7 and prices are never posted. Just have to "trust" & take their word for it. The OG spot for Vietnamese dessert ("che"). If you like coconut cream, sticky rice, and mung beans, this spot is for you. They have a lot of original desserts and seldom do I see newer items. With that being said, their desserts are a lot tastier than other spots in the area when it comes to Che. Even their other sister locations don't taste as delicious.

We were visiting the area and my dad absolutely insisted that if were going to get Che, we have to go to this place. It was a little out of the way and there was a line, but it was worth it! It's a take out only space and very efficient. The ladies are very friendly, they will assist you as you go through the line, and there's no problem if you don't know the name of something, you can just point, or ask. It will be one person helping you/your group, so things don't get confused or lost. If you don't know what's there, you can walk in and look at what's available before committing to standing in line. There's a good variety of sticky rice, Che, baked desserts, and build it yourself ches to choose from! Good thing it's so far from home or I would gain weight so quick. All the stuff we got was delicious and fresh. Not overly sweet, and a good portion for dessert/snack.

If you ever crave something a little sweet, a little savory, a little chewy, a little coconut-eee.. this place is for you! They have the most authentic Vietnamese desserts called "chè" and "xôi" (sweet rice) -- the prices are pretty reasonable too. This is a typical Vietnamese food-to-go restaurant where the service is minimal, and they only accept cash. I like the "chè bắp" aka sweet corn and "che chuoi" aka sweet banana dessert the best- which comes with sides of coconut milk. They have a pretty good "xoi" selections here also- my favorites are the "xôi sầu riêng" (durian sticky rice) and "xôi khoai mì" (cassava coooked in coconut) -

I meant to give this review a while back. I've been to this dessert place for years now, and every once in a while, I'll go back here to het some che and xoi. Their coconut juice was really good and I really enjoy the crushed ice. This small bakery is one of my favorites.

Love this place. Been coming here since I was a kid. The aunties are all sweet and will joke around with you. They will let you know what is good and what they like best. The sweets are always on point, always consistent. A good place for Vietnamese sweets!

The ladies working here were very sweet, just like the desserts! It was really busy during the evening so it was hard to find parking. It's definitely a great spot to go if you want to try Vietnamese dessert in Orange County.

Hands down this is THE place to go for Vietnamese desserts. Been coming here for years. They are made FRESH, and you get the best bang for your buck here. Theres a reason why this place always has a line. The desserts here are perfectly sweet. My go to are the Che khoi Mon (sweet sticky rice with taro) and Che chuoi (banana). Honestly they all taste really good, I like to try something different each time. TIP: if you want to sesame balls come early the run out quick. Make sure to bring CASH!

You can find all kinds of yummy Vietnamese desserts here. You can eat the sticky rice for breakfast. If I can, I would love to try everything. Price is still decent. The line can be long sometimes though. We get food here for breakfast sometimes:)

This is one of those places where you are either familiar with Vietnamese desserts to know what to get or you need guidance from someone on what to get. I'm the latter. Besides the 4-5 drink pictures on the wall, there isn't a menu anywhere that describes the dessert or tell you what it's even called or let you know how much these items cost. Thankfully the line was a bit long so it bought me some time to text my friend for some suggestions before I was up to order. What ended up happening was I had to guess and point what I think my friend told me to get. I got pandan and coconut layered jello slices, mixed fruit cocktail (chè thái), sweet corn pudding (chè bắp), and banana tapioca pudding (chè chuối). - Jello slices tasted exactly you'd expect, pandan and coconut. -Fruit cocktail is good but not the best. I've had better elsewhere. -Sweet corn pudding was pretty good even though the idea of using corn in desserts sounds odd for the majority. It works because it's only a hint of the corn taste, and the corn's texture and overall sweetness rounds out the dessert. -The bananas in the banana tapioca pudding tasted sour and strange, but I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to taste or I just got a bad batch. If you read other 3 or lower stars review you'll see that there are issues with the sanitation and food safety here. I unfortunately saw a sweet dumpling dessert displayed right at the front of the case and there was a long piece of hair coming out of it. It's gross for sure. I don't even know how the workers didn't catch that because it was really obvious. When I got home with my desserts I checked for hair, mold, maggots, etc. before I consumed it. Thankfully my desserts were fine and I didn't have any food poisoning. This place isn't terrible. The overall total cost for all the desserts I got was reasonable. If you go, just double check your desserts before you eat them.

I got the banh da lon and the banh chuoi. Their baked goods are made fresh which makes it so delicious. The banh da Lon was fresh and delicious and the texture was on point. The banh chuoi was sweetened perfectly. The coconut sauce was also good and not too watered down. I always stop by whenever I travel to OC.

Chè bà ba is not the same. I'm not a fan of mochi and this dessert did not have it before. I suggest going back to the previous ingredients WITHOUT the mochi. I had to toss the mochi in the trash. Probably not going to order this again.

Wonderful place to get authentic Vietnamese desserts. You can get so many different kinds of Vietnamese dessert drinks and sticky rice desserts or pudding. I personally really love getting the orange plain sticky rice to munch on and the Che Thai. Sometimes they will also put out containers of sausage sticky rice which is also really fresh and delicious. This place usually has a crazy line out the door so you'll be waiting a while but it's worth the wait'

Even at the end of the day, the deserts were fresh! So good and nostalgic to what I grew up with. Even if I don't know the name of the desserts... pointing to what looks good still works bc it was all good wish I had two servings!

Not too familiar with Vietamese food in general. I am of Chinese descent so I do see a lot of crossover of my culture's food with Vietamese foods and of what I have tried, I have really enjoyed and learned what to seek out and ask for in Little Saigon. For several years I have always observed long queues of folks waiting to be served here as I get out of my vehicle to visit my hairstylist who works in the hair salon in the same shopping center. Decided to try this place out since I was able to walk right in one Friday morning. The colorful and tasty looking selections were overwhelming at first. Unfortunately there is no descriptions in English, so I just decided to choose two items that looked familiar to me: the fried sesame balls (Jian Dui-Chinese) and what I thought was an oversized steamed pork bun (Char Siu Bao-Chinese). A dozen sesame balls @4/$1.00 = $4.00 One steamed bao @$3.00 Total = $7.00 CASH ONLY One of my favorite dim sum items growing up in the Bay Area and still to this day are the fried sesame balls. They are made with glutinous rice flour, filled with a sweetened bean paste, rolled in sesame seeds and deep fried. These have to be eaten within hours of being fried. I have tried several ways to store them but the end result is all the same: the glutinous rice flour does not hold up well and will harden up and become brittle and unappetizing to eat even the next day stored in an airtight container. When eaten fresh, a sesame ball made with glutinous rice flour is sweet, chewy and soft. The ones at Thach Che Hien Khanh are made with what tastes like regular AP flour. The dough itself is not sweetened with little chewiness to it. The filling is unsweetened and barely noticeable. The size of these sesame balls are a maybe the size of a ping pong ball. I ate the remaining ones Sunday night and while they became oilier (just like jian dui), they were still soft to eat, like when I first tried them on Friday morning. Would I buy them again? To scratch an itch/craving for Jian Dui, yes based on convenience and price only. There is another Vietamese business that sells their version of Chinese Dim Sum items that are much better and closer to what I am familiar with and enjoy but they are crazy busy and are not close by to where my hair stylist is located. As to the large steamed char siu bao, well I was really surprised when I got home. It wasn't what I thought it was. One of our sons wanted some so I cut it in half. I wasn't expecting to see what looks like either banh mi pate or meatball. stuffed inside. Well I really liked this one. the meat filling reminds me of the filling used in the Chinese Dim Sum item, Siu Mai with a small (guessing hardboiled quail egg). This item alone will keep me coming back for more to this place though it is bit pricy. I did observe that their food handling/safety is not quite up to health department standards. I did see, like other Yelp reviewers have previously mentioned, giant bowls of prepared food items stacked on the kitchen floor. I learned to live by my relatives mantra that "what you don't see, won't hurt you" until one gets GI issues later that day.

Good foods. Good service. Lousy ambiance since today is a warm day over 100 degrees F, but no A/C in the store, not even a fan! The business of this store is exceptional good but the owner apparently is not care enough about his/her miserable employees. Ông chủ tiệm thuộc loại bần tiện, thu tiền như nước nhưng không gắn máy lạnh hoặc để nhiều quạt cho nhân viên đỡ khổ!

Been to this place twice now. And, once the other location, Westminster. They certainly have delicious dessert. I, especially, like the durian/mung bean with coconut drink ($5) and flan cake ($2.50). They both located in the fridge. Not sure about the cost; there were no prices on any items. If you are first in line and you don't speak Vietnamese, occasionally the customer behind you will try to place their order before you. I had that happened to me 2x already. Not cool! Other than that, this is the place to get amazing Vietnamese dessert!

Cash appreciated or through zelle. The line goes quickly as you call out your order and get your che scooped out for you. It gets busy so make sure to get all your items.

This establishment and its sibling under the same name on Westminster Ave do not give paper receipts to customers. The amount due is always calculated mentally by the salesperson. Businesses like these are the reason Westminster residents have to pay the highest sales tax rate in the county (9.25%} to cover for the lack of revenue of the city due to tax evasion. All customers should start asking for a paper receipt for their transaction when coming here.

Thạch Chè Hiển Khánh is a staple of my childhood during my weekend trips to Little Saigon spanning back to whenever I was sentient. Chè is perhaps one of the first Vietnamese words a child born in the US may learn; perhaps I am projecting. It was always my favorite thing to see the different chè behind the glass: all the different colors and visual textures made it seem like I was at the aquarium, witnessing the beauty of our world. Sometimes, it was a game of I Spy, when trying to see my perennial childhood favorite was there: chè khoai môn, affectionately dubbed by me as "chè green" on account of the sticky rice colored green (probably by pandan leaf extract). I always remembered waiting a long time in line at this place as a kid (though when you're a kid, any amount of time feels too long since you haven't been alive for relatively as long as, say, present-day me). Today was no different, unsurprisingly, as it New Year's Day, and Vietnamese folks are probably trying to feed their families and friends the good stuff. My family is no different. The line was so long, my aunt and I started playing separate games on our phones. I might have even opened up Yelp. This business's offerings range from chè, xôi, bánh bò-- basically anything you can do with glutinous rice. My aunt insisted I try so many things, and I only have so much real estate in my digestive tract. I opted for xôi sầu riêng (durian sticky rice), bánh bò (honeycomb cake), xôi mặn (savory sticky rice), chè đậu (bean chè), chè bắp (corn chè), chè chuối (banana chè), etc. I have just tasted the xôi sầu riêng with coconut milk and it was delightfully duriany. I also just ate a bánh bò, and it reminded me of why I worry about my sugar intake. Bánh bò is one of my favorite desserts ever, and I'm glad they only have two per boxed portion. Thankfully, money is a limiting agent in my life.

Place that always have long line of locals and have 3.5 stars rating on Yelp are authentic AF, according to some guy on TikTok. This place is that place. Authentic AF. Always have line and only hear people talking in Vietnamese. Always makes me feel like I need to point with finger on what I want to buy since I don't even know how to pronounce most of the items sold here. I was first introduced to this place many years ago by my good old friend, who is Vietnamese. After eating delicious Pho at Pho79 (the best), we came here to try my first Chè Ba Màu. I think my photos from that day is posted here somewhere on Yelp. I'm sure many on Yelp have already pointed out but this mall is one of the location where they filmed The Fast and The Furious. I felt artsy today so came to take a quick shot of the mall using my film camera which I haven't shot in a while. (check out the video I made) Today I ordered, #1 Chè Ba Màu (Three colored drink), Bánh Bao (Pork&Boiled Egg Bun), and Bánh Bò Nuóng (Vietnamese Honeycomb Cake). Out of the three I ordered, Bánh Bò Nuóng is dangerously good. I can finish this spongey goody cake in one sitting by myself if I don't control myself. Highly recommend this place. #sundogram

OMG cute old vietnamese ladies running a dessert shop. Just go, idc. Food was great, didn't even know what I was ordering. Service was great, didn't even know what they were saying. Ambience was great, didn't even know what was going on around me.

Great variety of desserts and snacks! It will help non Vietnamese customers if they had translated signages for the food. I had no clue but just pointed and asked. Che was good, you can choose the ingredients as they make.

I bought this flan in a cup on Monday, Tuesday mourning I ate it and had diarrhea the whole day thought I had stomach flu. Wednesday there's mold growth. I was advised to get this cup by the seller.

Love their xoi gac here - the red sticky rice. Cash only but all the desserts are so yummy. We always pick and choose different ones and they all end up tasting delicious. I dont speak viet really well but they understand me with just me pointing at what i want. Weekdays are not crowded but weekends are.

I was introduced to this place by my in-law after delicious Vietnamese restaurants near by. Great dessert place. So much tasty sweet desserts to choose from. You can choose small portions of different desserts. It's very addicting, make you want to go back the next day. They taste as good as it looks. It's CASH only so have them ready before going.

While I was paying for my order, I saw one staff put 2 cooked sticky rice pots on the floor, one pot was in front of him, and he was mixing it, the second pot is behind him, also on the floor, right next to his wet shoes, while he was mixing the first pot, his shoes touch to the second pot often, and other staffs was walking also. Then they brought them out and serve customers. I thought it was weird. But I didn't know why I still ate the dessert, and everyone in my family got diarrhea after eating dessert that day too. Lúc đang tính tiền, tôi thấy nhân viên trong bếp để 2 nồi xôi vừa nấu xong còn khói nóng hổi ngay dưới đất, 1 nồi phía trước, nhân viên ấy đang xới nồi đó, chắc ngon là nhờ mồ hôi rớt xuống hoặc bụi của mọi người đi qua đi lại, và 1 nồi xôi phía sau cũng dưới đất, sau chân anh ấy, đôi giày ướt vì sàn bếp cũng ướt đụng ngay mép nồi. Tôi lỡ mua rồi nên cũng mang về, rồi nghĩ chỗ vn nào chắc cũng vậy, đáng lý chúng tôi không nên ăn, tiếc tiền ăn rồi lại đau cả nhà. Lần này thì chúng tôi sợ rồi. Tôi có chụp hình và post cho mọi người thấy mà tin. Tiếc là hình không thấy cả cái nồi trước mặt mà nhân viên đang cúi xuống để xới, nhưng vẫn thấy rõ được nồi xôi ngay đôi giày của nhân viên.

Longest line I've ever been in for desserts. But it's worth the wait when you're in the OC Westminister area. The line goes down fairly quickly and the staff there speaks Vietnamese only. I reco going with friends or family who speaks Vietnamese. Their ché, pudding, drinks and other desserts are delicious!! We bought like $60 worth of Vietnamese desserts there.

If you see the line, you'll know why. They have so many dishes here and they're jamming! They had so many different types of che and xoi, and it's all displayed cafeteria style. Reccomendations: Xoi Khut/Cut: sticky rice with mung bean type filling and pork, topped with fried shallots. Mmmmh. If it's fresh grab some! The banana tapioca cakes are also delicious.
