Listen, if you love Thai good, go here! The food is amazing.

Google
Delicious food! Most of the dishes I've tried have been good to excellent. I usually sit at the bar or get takeout (not delivery) and generally don't have any issues. Good little local restaurant that I have made my regular Thai place.

Google
This place is just horrible I’ve been going to Thai 101 for year and out of the many times I’ve been her I have loved it. Now I just went today and everything was fine until me and my family (party of six) went to ask for the check we all asked 3 time within 20 - 30 minutes and they just ignored us so we were just ready to walk out of there so at least 3 of us left because we were tired of waiting so me and two other people stayed waiting for the check then I go to the bathroom and I see this lady writing out the check with is absurd and then I go tell my mother who was waiting there with me for the check and she just got tired of it so be went to the little back area thing they decided to charge us 35 dollars for waiting 30 for a check while they sat there and served other then we said we are not paying the extra for that so then the lady got upset and said I can’t do anything about it then we were like okay find out a way to fix it and then the other lady started “ no don’t come back no” and we finally got the discount and we said were not coming back and we are not this whole experience was just crazy so now me and my family will never go back ever again (Sorry for my grammar but you get the point this place is bad and if you want to go there and waste your time and money go ahead but I’m not going to sit there and waste my time

Google
I'm not sure if the waitresses are racist or just plain nasty, particularly a waitress called " Mo." I've sat and watched them take orders from others or juzt stand around chatting while I waited. This has happened on many occasions. The food is good, the drinks are lovely however, the service is questionable at best.

Google
Thai 101 has the perfect, most legitimate Thai food drinks & service. Anything from the food menu, it is golden delicious. This place is almost AS GOOD, as a Thailand restaurant itself. Doubtful? Pls refer to their 101 lunch specials/drink happy hour. <.<

Google
THE MANAGER IS DISGUSTING AND RUDE. IM NOT SURE IF SHE'S NEW. BUT I GAVE A GREAT REVIEW BECAUSE IVE BEEN ORDERING FOR YEARS. BUT TODAY MY ORDER WAS WRONG. I ONLY CALLED IN TO EXPLAIN AND TO SEE IF I COULD HAVE A NEW ORDER PLACED. I DIDN'T EVEN WANT A REFUND. I'M HUNGRY I WANT TO EAT. SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME I TALK TOO MUCH MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE I WAS EXPLAINING MY ORDER. SHE ASKED ME THE ISSUE THEN BASICALLY SAID BE QUIET BECAUSE SHE FELT I NEEDED TO BE SILENT AS SHE SEARCHED MY ORDER. BUT HOW CAN U SEARCH IF I CANT TALK AND GIVE U MY INFORMATION. NOT SURE IF SHE WAS JUST HELPING BY ANSWERING THE PHONE. BUT SHE SHOULD NEVERRRRRRRRRR EVERRRRRR BE ABLE TO HANDLE CUSTOMER ISSUES. SHE WAS HORRIBLY NASTY OVER THE PHONE UNACCEPTABLE I ORDERED SHRIMP NOT SPICY. I GOT THESE WHITE PIECES OF IDK. WHAT 🤮

Yelp
I love coming to Thai 101. I live in Fort Greene and frequently come here during happy hour. I love their Basil Friend Rice with Chicken with a glass of plum wine. This is definitely a staple spot to go to. The food is great, the drinks are good Nd the atmosphere is nice.

Yelp
The wait staff here was attentive and friendly. Food was also good. Had the lunch special - basil fried rice and crispy spring roll. I go here whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
I've been coming to Thai 101 for years, it was a Fav. . I visited today for my sister's birthday and ordered the garlic and pepper fried snapper. After a few bites, I noticed the fish had a pungent smell and an off taste. I politely brought this to the attention of our server, who initially responded well by offering to remove it from the bill and asking if I'd like a replacement. I declined the same dish and requested the garlic palate entrée with shrimp instead. The server returned to inform me that the chef tasted the fish and found nothing was wrong with it , therefore, they would not be serving me anything else. I was stunned. I've never experienced such dismissive and unprofessional treatment, especially as a long-time, loyal customer. I told the server she didn't need to bring me anything else and just asked for the check. Sadly, this experience has completely changed how I view this restaurant. The lack of respect, accountability, and basic hospitality was disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can no longer recommend this place to others.

Yelp
First my group of three all received appetizer dishes that were chipped in varying degrees; when this was brought our waitress's attention, she replied, they are all chipped" meanwhile another employee brought unchipped plates to our table. Then my rice had a long hair in it, when shown, what do you want was asked. I responded a new one and a takeaway tray that I want to pack myself. Said rice was taken away and returned in a takeaway container already packed along with a separate container for my other food. I specifically stated I wanted to pack myself own food! Why wouldn't you provide a replacement side of rice for me to pack myself as requested. How do I know that's not the same hairy rice! Never again!

Yelp
I haven't been to this hood in a verrrry long time. Major changes in the area is an understatement, but the sense of community seems to still remain. This place has a neighborhood homey vibe. Service is good, but they're not gonna overdo it, they know they make good food, and you'll know it when you're done eating. The bar is lively, seems like there are regulars, and they don't eff up the overall vibe. I had: Musaman Curry Chicken. Niiice. Warm spicy, with a great creamy sauce. With a side of jasmine rice. Perfect for a chilly day, but not crazy spicy to annoy your tastebuds for anything else you order. Enough to share, but maybe you won't, I don't judge. Curry Puffs were guuud. Nice, light, but filling. Dipping sauce was on point. I tried to share, but I may have taken more than my share. Tofu Tod, I'm only guessing here, cuz it was triangular, slight crisp, and green and tasty AF. My friend ordered them and I was stunned at the flavor, but totally forgot to ask what it was. NY Panang Duck. This was ordered by my friend, but dang, I wish I ordered one to go, it was guuud too. Succulent sliced duck, with crispy skin edges, and the sauce was the perfect flavor companion. I stopped eating my curry to get another bite of this dish. I would definitely go back based on the sauces alone. I'm assuming they run a good bar, and the customers seem happy with the food, there were several couples and singles in their Eating Zone, no words spoken. Takeout if you need to, but I recommend goin in, having a seat and getting your food hot from the kitchen. Every time that door opened from the kitchen, the smells of goodnisss paraded past your table. Yums!

Yelp
I usually only order to go since I work in the neighborhood but today decided to sit and eat since I wanted a drink. They have happy hour from 4-830pm & the drink list isn't super limited like other places during happy hour. Reasonable prices beer was $6, wine was $7 and mixed cocktails were $8. We got a plum white wine which was sweet but good and an island breeze mixed drink . It wasn't packed inside , but can tell it starts to get more service as the night goes on and more takeout delivery happening. Vibes inside was calm, I liked the Thai music they were playing too. As for food! I always get the shrimp wonton soup because anything with Chinese broccoli, sign me up! The firecracker shrimp was good, and it came with a crispy edible shell, not sure what it was made of but similar to a pork rind. The star of the night was the fried snapper which was fried hard aka crispy but not burnt (if you're from Brooklyn and like your chicken wings fried hard, you'll appreciate this), we got it with the tamarind sauce and asked to add alittle spice to it. It was sweet but a nice balance of spice, could've been more spicier but you have to be careful with Thai spice so we played it safe and added our own hot sauce they have. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. *a heads up, they added gratuity to the check for two ppl, with no warning. Makes things easier and not a problem for us but some people do not like that. Will def be back soon to try more things off their extensive menu

Andie G.

Yelp
We ordered a few appetizers too, but we're so hungry we forgot to take pictures. Fried Calamari, spring rolls were very good. The dinners were very good too, lots of flavor and fast service. It's a nice quiet place for a quick meal.

Yelp
I haven't actually dined in, it's always a delivery because my family in the area is still not ready to be in restaurants post Covid. The food is always delivered fresh and promptly, even when it may be noted the delivery can arrive between 35-40 minutes. We stick to the same items most of the time. Veggie dumplings, Thai 101 dumplings, basil fried rice, chicken wings, crispy rolls and my favorite...the Thai tea. I noticed a few times with the Thai dumplings, they can have more gristle than chicken. Mainly when I order late in the day this occurs... The chicken wings are Spicy and have been chewy at times.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
I ordered veggie dumplings and basil noodles. The dumplings were NOT COOKED! It was late night as there was no other place for me to order from. ANNOYED AND HUNGRY!

Vanessa D.

Yelp
Came for lunch. Walked in to an empty restaurant. The young lady who was the hostess/greeter stared me in my face and never said a word. No greeting, no welcome to the restaurant, not a word. Just stares. I initiated the interaction with a good afternoon and her response was "to go". Clearly she didn't want to serve me so I proceeded to leave. I hear a loud sigh as I'm walking out the establishment. Safe to say I will not be back and Will patronage an establishment that at the least will welcome you to their business.

Yelp
My last few pad Thai experiences have been so turrrible that I was beginning to think that I don't even like pad Thai. Thai 101 has reset my thinking. Treated myself to an early veggie dinner after an MD visit up the block. My basil vegetable noodles, were filled with tasty carrots, broccoli, peppers, egg etc. Flavors were great but be warned, super spicy. My crispy rolls were delicious. All the food was smoking hot, fresh and why I'll be going back soon.

Yelp
Small place but awesome service. The host was so helpful in picking us vegetarian food as we have dithery restrictions

Yelp
This place is walking distance from my home so I called ahead to order take out. The duck dishes intrigued me, so I asked if the Spicy Basil duck could be made mild. Thankfully the restaurant was able to accommodate my request. I also ordered the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer and Thai iced coffee. My meal was ready upon arrival. The Thai iced coffee was decent, but didn't have enough condensed milk to my liking so it wasn't as sweet as I'm used to. Firecracker was crispy shrimp in wonton wrap and shrimp chips. It also came with a delightful mayo sauce which had a little kick, but was not too spicy even for me. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the shrimp and it was well seasoned. I ate the shrimp and chips together, which gave it an extra layer of crispness. The Basil duck consisted of a medley of vegetables on top, including green beans, carrots, onion, along with really tasty basil sauce, as well as garlic and a few other potent seasonings. Underneath the vegetables was roasted duck, which was nicely tender and full of basil flavor. It think I would have preferred it with crispy duck though. I would consider trying other menu items from this establishment, but there are so many different Thai restaurants on Myrtle Ave that I would like to sample some other places first.

Yelp
This restaurant, packs on, the flavor for a very affordable price. The servers are attentive. The appetizers are awesome - curry puffs, dumplings, fire cracker shrimp, chicken fritters, and satay - and most of the main dishes are tasty too. I must say that two of my favorite dishes are no longer my favorites at this restaurant due to the decrease in the quality. The snapper tasted old last three times I've ordered and the red curry was changed to be watered down with extra sugar instead of using rich tasty coconut milk. I've mentioned this to the severs, but those dishes I eat elsewhere at other Thai restaurants that don't have great appetizers. Hopefully they fix these issues.

Yelp
The Thai Ice tea is so AMAZING. All the appetizer are so good Chili Wings, Curry Puff, Fire cracker shrimp are my faves. The Lunch special price is so affordable my go-to is the Basil Noodles and Pad Thai. best service also.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Ok in a pinch. Dinner portions were more like lunch specials. Service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
Came here w/ a friend for there lunch specials under $8 , you get 2 plates. One is a small appetizer and the other is a main. I got the beef w/ Pad Thai Noodle Lunch Special which is not bad , she order the Sriracha Chicken Lunch Special w/ rice . if you wait till 5 pm it's 2 for 1 drinks . So you can really score here ...it's not a lot of seating , , I see I lot of people were getting pick up orders Togo .and that's a good sigh .. for a restaurant ..

Yelp
Exceeded my expectations! Stop in here to grab dinner a few days ago and really enjoyed the food. It's a small restaurant, also has a bar. We went during happy hour so drinks/shots were $6. Tried a couple and they were definitely fruitier than I like but still enjoyed for the price. Got chicken satay to start and the peanut sauce was delicious. For my meal I tried chicken pad Thai (extra spicy) and it was great! I'm a huge pad Thai fan so am extra particular about it but it was flavorful and spicy, exactly how I would've wanted. Food is very reasonably priced so will definitely be back!

Yelp
Ordered lunch from Thai 101 Bistro. Delivery was quick. The lunch special is a great price. Portion is definately enough for lunch. Basil rice was good just needed a little more heat. The Pad Se Ew also good, nice flavor. Didnt care for the crispy roll.

Yelp
I had hair in my damn lemonade Lost my appetite and didn't even bother to take it back! By the time I got home I regained my appetite, judge ‍ me lol. I figured I'd at-least eat the food. Crab fried rice is good but could use some soy sauce. I like it though. The chicken wings made my stomach hurt! I'm watching the nfl playoffs in pain. I took off all my clothes to use the bathroom. Never going here again. The hair in my lemonade is crazy! I've never seen anything like that!

Yelp
I am searching for that perfect Thai food restaurant in Fort Greene area. I ordered from this neighborhood spot Thai 101 bistro . I got - Basil fried rice: the tofu was perfect and the basil flavor was strong. I just wish it was a tad bit more spicy. Not pictured but I also got their dessert fried banana with matcha ice cream- this was unique and I enjoyed it. This is a great spot, tbh I can't complain much coz all that food was only $10 and the delivery was quick . I gotta try other spots in the area but for now glad that I found a cheap and quick Thai place.

Josh F.

Yelp
curry was inedible. tom yam was inedible. why? sweeeeeet. syrupy sweeeeeet. tooo sweet. ridiculously sweet. like sugar cereal. insaney bad. dumplings were frozen passed off as fresh. just terrible. i mean how is this place still in business????

L M.

Yelp
Bad experience with a Grubhub delivery! I ordered from Thai 101 via Grubhub on Friday night, Dec 1, 2023. The order went though and I got alerts that it was on its way. Then the delivery never arrived. I checked my lobby and nothing was there. I got an alert saying it was delivered but it never arrived. I called the restaurant and they were unhelpful. Perhaps it's fine for dine-in, but I do not recommend delivery.

Veronica C.

Yelp
Pad Se Ew was so delicious but extremely small portions. Container half full. Looked like I already ate from it - don't get calamari as protein Sriracha chicken was chewy. Needed more spice.

Chino P.

Yelp
Thursday, September 1, 2022 early afternoon, party of 4. We were greeted and seated at a table toward the back which was out of the way of the foot traffic. We ordered: Appetizer of spare ribs which were tender, well season,, cooked, and plated. 2 Tom Yum soups with shrimps which were perfectly prepared and flavorful. 1 steamed salmon with ginger sauce with white rice. Was a nice portion that she ended up taking half home. 2 fried salmon in ginger sauce. One could not stop eating hers and ate it all...rice as well. The other got full off of her soup and picked at be fish dish and took it home. Papaya Salad was tasty with just enough to punch the taste buds. Chicken Drunken Noodles were well prepared and seasoned well. A little Sriracha kicked it up a notch. Gratuity was added to our bill which made it so, much easier to figure out. Service was good and Food was delish and plentiful. Will be back for more.

Yelp
Crab Fried Rice! I looooooooove it so much. I eat the whole thing by myself and I'm not sharing lol. I'll be ordering again in a few days. And fyi- I live all the way in PPW and come here to get their food.
google avatar

Brina B.

Yelp
Food tastes good but only half the container is full. The pictures below are $15 each!

Nicole M.

Yelp
I'm a regular customer. The restaurant has excellent lunch specials and happy hour. The food is consistently good to excellent and they have impeccable service. It's the perfect neighborhood spot.

Iffad I.

Yelp
The service is 5/5. The food not so much. This was a first time experience for me in downtown Brooklyn area, so I was hoping that the experience would be worth it. When we first went in there were no customers. This was on a peak time during a Friday. Anyways I ended up getting food poisoning. The dishes are a variety, but I am not sure if it was the undercooked shrimp from the Tom Yum soup or the stale tilapia that did it for me. Only giving them a two star because they were kind as a host.
google avatar

Veronika B.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better Thai restaurants on the block. Pretty good menu with a lot of the standards and some house specialties. Really cute decor inside. Very friendly and prompt service from the staff with some happy hour drink specials. Options to sit and eat at the bar or in the formal dining area make it very convenient for everyone. Great prices and portions, if you like Thai and your on Myrtle I dignity suggest this spot.

Yelp
Very. Quaint quiet, nice staff. Affordable. And easy to get too. Close to home. Definitely going back.

Yelp
So, I happened to park in front of this restaurant to go to the bank and noticed their lunch special ($7.95 for an appetizer and entree) and figured hey - I haven't treated myself to lunch in 5011 years (that's fifty-leven for those of y'all not from the south). Anyhoo, I came in (and here's the reason I couldn't give 5 stars), the young man stops me by the bar and gives me the to go menu. I felt rushed because he stood there with the pen in his hand waiting to take my order. I ordered the Golden Fritters appetizer and Pad Thai noodles with vegetables as my entree. I advised I wanted to sit and eat ... Sat and was served my appetizer promptly. Ordered the Lychee Iced Tea - quite sweet, but delightful. The Fritters and Pad Thai were also quite tasty. I will return for lunch again.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
The panang curry is very good! It's not overly sweet and has good flavor to it. The curry also feels like it had depth to it. They only give a small side of fried rice though. I also ordered the firecracker. It was an appetizer around 6-7 bucks, but I don't think I would ever get this again. It's just puff cracker pieces with fried shrimp. But the fried shrimp is not good! It felt like I was biting into unpeeled shrimp.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
I love their food! It's always fresh and full of flavor. Nice ambiance and their drinks are definitely do the job. The service is great but I miss Bee and Kay. They were the most personable staff they had. Nonetheless still a good time. My favorite dish is chicken and shrimp pad see ew

Tawatchai S.

Yelp
The Happy Hour Drinks was awesome. Food is so nice. I recommend the curry puff, Basil fry rice, Whole snapper fish. Service is good. I would say it is the best Thai restaurant in Myrtle.

Shanya J.

Yelp
Highly recommend! The restaurant is huge and makes me feel comfortable spending time here. A must menu is the Basil Fried Rice - I consider here is the best I've tried. Also, for the drinks I would recommend the Pink Paradise and Lychee Belini. Super nice staffs as well.
google avatar

Sonia M.

Yelp
I had drunken noodles with the seafood mix Soo good! My first time trying it def will return
google avatar

Cheralyn N.

Yelp
I should've looked for these reviews before dining here. I got distracted because my MIL is in town. Anyway, we didn't feel like driving to SEA (tried and true) so we settled for Myrtle Avenue. Well, this was below settling. Imagine going to a Thai restaurant where seafood is the top cuisine and getting IMITATION CALAMARI! How?! Then the staff did not listen - we asked for 2 sweet chili sauces, she brings 1 soy sauce. Then, when we repeated it, she brings a second soy sauce. I finally thought I should make sure she could hear and understand me but she still only brought us 1 sweet chili sauce. We shared chili sauce! Ugh. And guess what... all the sauces were listed on the bill. Yeah, don't go there.
google avatar

Scorcha L.

Yelp
Serivce was great, food was decent but definitely not a place I would ever dine in again. Just atmosphere wise was a bit sad. Myrtle Thai down the street is awesome and food is way better quality and its just a cuter athmosphere that I enjoy sitting in. So if you want to dine our for Thai go to Myrtle Thai a block away.
google avatar

Virginie L.

Yelp
I came in here with my friends since we were hungry and I thought we should go to a Thai place. we were just walking and I noticed the sign that said it was happy hour and it was my friend's 21 birthday so I suggested we go there (so I could get her a drink AND EAT!) Once we stepped it in it was pretty dark (to set the mood?!) As we were being seated , every table that I passed by I was able to smell the delicious dishes that the people had ordered. I ordered the tofu green curry fried rice and a princess cocktail for my friend. My friends ordered the duck dish and another ordered just the crab dumplings. My dish came out first- there were A LOT of rice so I shared with everyone. There were plenty of tofu, which was awesome!!! There was a lot of flavor but not too much. And while it did say it was supposed to be spicy it wasn't at all. Although one of my friend couldn't take it (weak sauce!) Maybe the cook had altered it ? but it's totally fine- it was so good . When my friend's duck dish came out I didn't see the duck due to the fact that they had topped a lot of veggies on top of the duck. So the duck was under all that veggies and the duck was sitting in a small puddle (not a bad thing) of coconut milk sauce. The sauce was light and the duck was cooked really well. It wasn't tough or dry at all. It was simply to die for! My friends and I couldn't stop eating it. I wished there was more duck to go around! I would deff come back again to get the duck and try their other dishes. While the food are great the service was iffy. I mean they took out orders and brought it out- that's about it. They liked to sit in the back to do I dont' know what. Other then that the food was great. :D
google avatar

Taylor A.

Yelp
Is it me or when eating in are the portions on the small side??? I normally eat at Joya down town & get more than double what I got at Thai 101... Establishment was clean. Food was ok. Veggies were alittle too hard. I felt like the string beans n the Panage weren't even cooked . Small bar. Service was fine although I prefer Joya.
google avatar

Soo S.

Yelp
I don't really like Thai food but wanted to try this Thai place, I'm still not too crazy about Thai food but I have to say this place is very clean. Very decorative design to the establishment and they have a full bar. The soup was really good it had nice fresh chunks of tofu and fresh cilantro. The dishes come out very decorative as well. You can see the effort and that the chef takes pride in his work.

Django Jane J.

Yelp
3 stars for my food being ready every time I order it to go. I usually grab it on my way to the tunnel and by the time I get home it's still hot. The portions are doable. The service improved since COVID because dining in they would agitate me with the one napkin at a time. Hovering over you while you eat. Piss poor attitudes. I love the food though. I'm going to replace them soon. Covid made everyone nicer now. They need your money.
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
I still order takeout from here often, we have not had a complaint still good Thai food. They are the best, always follow special request like no onions;). I have to say for the first time I tried their chu-chee fish and their curry was delicious must try if like a little spicy.
google avatar

sherwin m.

Yelp
This is the best Thai restaurant in Brooklyn! Yes, I said all of Brooklyn. I usually order the Basil Fried Rice or Pineapple Fried Rice with the Thai Iced tea. Both delicious dishes and a refreshing drink. They have other great things on the menu as well. I would definitely recommend this spot if your in the mood for Thai. They also deliver and are always prompt.

Yelp
Started getting deliv from these folks over 15 years ago moved out of BK and when I'm back around, check in to see if they are still doing it. I make it a habit to try Thai, where every a trail takes me. This spot STILL tops for solid simple Food..... 101 baby !!! Definitely Take out/Deliv joint Good not Bad and nothing Ugly about this Place --Support It

Corey E.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken and broccoli evergreen. (Brown sauce and tomato) with brown rice. It was very underwhelming. The Brown sauce isn't truly sauce texture. It's just Brown watery liquid I assume comes from them throwing water in the pan while searing chicken. There was no seasoning or flavor. It was a pretty disappointing meal to be honest. 2 stars for the beer.

Niti W.

Yelp
This place has been our best Thai food experience. My sons are VEGAN due to food allergies, but can have peanuts and almonds. Since this place opened and has been around on bayside - we have been their biggest fans!! We have ordered variety of dishes from them and have always had a great experience. Personally, I love spices and they have always been on point with the way we order our food. Always, ready to pick up when we have ordered for takeout and very courteous to their customers. The restaurant can use little bit more of face lift but other than that we can't think of any bad food or beverage experiences we have had there. High Recommend it.
