The Best Places To Eat In Little Five Points

"The long, bare hallway leading into Thai 5 gives us post-apocalyptic deserted building vibes. But eventually the hall opens up into a brightly lit dining room. It's a fairly standard set up with heavy wood accents with beige tiled floors, a few plants, and wicker chairs (to-go orders are king here), but the tasty food adds more flair. It’s easy to confidently say this is the best sushi in L5P because it’s the only spot, but each of the rolls on the massive menu (get the Flaming Phoenix with spicy tuna) are all very solid. When we’d rather stay on dry land, the Thai entrees are equally good, with the panang curry packing a flavorful punch and the pad thai giving a hefty wallop of peanut taste. " - juli horsford

My family and I go to this restaurant often! My personal fave is the sushi. But their noodle dishes are also amazing. Its a great place for a date night out as well.

Date: September 2024 TLDR: Thai 5, your service and food are top-notch, but it’s time to spruce up the ambiance. ขอบคุณ (khob khun) for the great experience! Service:5/5 I’m met some friends here for a birthday celebration on a Monday. We were immediately seen, giving water to start in the bartender/waiter was fast and attentive. Prices: 5/5 Prices were as expected in my opinion for what we received, I did get some sashimi as well as a signature role. Very filling and quite delicious to be frank . Ambiance: 3/5 This is where there’s a clear loss of points. Unfortunately, this restaurant has one of those smells of I guess old food and old construction. I feel like Thai 5 needs an update and to close down for renovations. It’s time to invest in a new and fresh look. Taste/Textures: 5/5 My food was delicious and my girlfriend ordered the lobster roll which had an amazing presentation. Definitely think that the waiters, chefs, and Bartender were really hard to create a quality environment for top-notch agent food in little five points. Value:5/5 Definitely left here with the feeling that I got what I paid for and would return. YT : @internationalchic TikTok: @internationalchic Instagram: @internationalchicshawn

Came in for a quick bite - we had already eaten dinner elsewhere. The reason we came was for dessert - I really like mango sticky rice and wanted to try theirs! I did like it, it had nice balance of flavors. I’m still most partial to Ruby Chows mango sticky rice, but this was a good runner up. My husband got the spring rolls for a snack and didn’t care for it.he was disappointed they didn’t have spicy mustard. He said he wouldn’t come back.

Google
I recently dined at this wonderful family-run restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and had a genuine, homey feel. The authenticity of the dishes truly stood out, and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming dining experience! Don’t sleep on the pumpkin curry!!

Google
*Unsanitary* Terribly unhappy with this experience. I got off late from work and my partner and I ordered from here for pickup about 45 minutes before close. We were told to "make sure we picked up before 9:30." My partner arrived at 9:11 and waited until close for the food. Not a big deal- but the food we got was horrendous. Completely unacceptable. I'm upset that I paid for this. There were *multiple* strands of hair in my sushi rolls & everything tasted old. Even the ginger on the side had a spoiled taste so bad that I spit it out. Seems like they don't wear hairnets and have no problem selling food that sat out all day. I just don't understand why anyone would do this.

Google
Another first time visit but will have to add it to the rotation. The sushi was amazing so fresh and flavorful. My family ordered the basil lamb but they demolished it before I could get a pic. I got to taste the lamb and it was so tender definitely ordering that dish next time. The basil chicken was so good. The chicken fried rice was good too. Definitely check this spot out

Google
The food is .. not great. Sushi had a weird acidic flavor, green curry with chicken was prepared quite spicy even though I asked for mild (chicken was tender, though, which was nice), and my order was 15 minutes late from what was promised through their ordering app (ChowNow), forcing me to leave and come back so my son wouldn't be sitting in the hot car. I recommend Umai Sushi instead - same prices, far superior quality.

Google
I go here at least once a month. I have never had a bad lunch experience ever. Never super busy during lunch, I don’t know about dinner however .The sushi is fresh, the service is excellent. This time I got the Thai 5 roll and the spicy tuna roll. Reasonably priced and has a full liquor bar!

Yelp
I am so shocked that this place is rated what it is on Yelp. I DONT think it's an accurate reflection at all! Thai 5 has some of the most flavorful Thai dishes in the city. We have been going here regularly for the last 10 years and never had a bad dish. All the curries are delish and we always recommend the Geisha roll. Parking can be tough but that's expected in Little 5 Pts. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for Thai in the city.

Yelp
Poor delivery experience! I was notified that my order had been transmitted but never heard anything else. Finally, at the end of the original window, I checked the front porch and there it was! The ants hadn't yet found it but it was cold. I reheated it and found that instead of the tofu I had ordered, it was chicken, which I don't eat. An expensive disappointment.

Yelp
I only got dessert so I can't speak for some of these less than perfect reviews. The mango sticky rice was so yummy!! I was craving it after having 26thai's & am happy that I have Thai5 to go to instead (much more reasonable prices for more). Generous coconut cream as well. Will return soon!!

Yelp
We were greeted by a friendly host and our server was also very nice! The food came out nice and quick and it was delicious. We ordered sushi and also the Thai Basil ground chicken and rice. We will definitely come back again!

Yelp
A small, funky little sushi spot. I stopped in for early dinner and was the only one there. The staff was prompt and friendly. I had a few sushi rolls. Prices were reasonable and the food was good. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had but it did the trick. I'd return in the future.

Yelp
*EDITED** WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE!! Obviously was very much a fan but they were SO rude to me. So nasty, SO mean to me! Was an awful experience. So sad because i did really enjoy this place. My favorite girl quit and it has just gone DOWNHILL. Terrible experience will NEVER go back! I (used to) LOVE Thai 5 !!! (WAS) My absolute favorite places to get thai tea and pineapple chicken!!! It's so good!! The sauce makes this place superior !! *DONT* Ignore the hate EVERYONE is (NOT) always so so nice to me when i am in there!
google avatar

Daniel J.

Yelp
Not an authentic sushi place. Mostly rolls and Thai foods (I did not try Thai foods)

Bryan T.

Yelp
Great food and service. Reasonably priced and great location. I have gone there many times and never had a bad experience.

Yelp
I loveeeeee Thai 5!! I've been coming here for about five years and it hits the spot everytime. Nice staff and super yummy food :)

Yelp
I tried Thai 5 and Sushi Bar both via Uber and in-person, and each time the food has been decent. Their hearty Wonton Soup is my favorite! It has hints of ginger and the ground chicken filling is flavorful. I also enjoyed their fresh sushis. The Green Curry, which has eggplant, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and basil leaves, was spicy and tasted authentic. I also got chicken in the curry, which I wouldn't recommend doing; the meat was too hard. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Shrimp was not spicy, but the shrimp was cooked to perfection. And finally, I tried their Pad Thai twice, and both times it lacked seasoning, including salt. Overall, this restaurant is decent. If I had to order from here again, I'd probably just stick with the Wonton Soup and one of the sushi options.

Yelp
Thai 5 Atlanta - ordered on door dash Chicken Larb - very little cabbage cut so thin and not much of it - you could not put in a leaf and the chicken was sour - soggy lettuce at the bottom - very disappointed
google avatar

Aisha J.

Yelp
This restaurant has not disappointed me yet. This is my second time dining at this establishment and the service is great, food tasty, flavorful and nice portion size. This is some of the best thai food that I've tasted here in Atlanta!

Emily D.

Yelp
Got the Pad Thai with chicken, yellow curry with chicken, spicy salmon roll, and the Fuji Sung roll. Everything was very delicious! The entree dishes were medium spicy and had a really good amount of flavor. The sushi rolls tasted very fresh and were packed with a piece of cardboard separating the sushi container from the hot entrees so the rolls wouldn't heat up in transit. Portions were generous, even for take out!
google avatar

Brionna R.

Yelp
Great restaurant overall the food was prepared quickly and it was hot and fresh. I will be back I just wish that they use more eco-friendly packaging. The service was great.

Wes H.

Yelp
Pad Thai and massaman curry via door dash. Pad Thai medium was not very spicy (call it Midwest medium). Good portions, but no cutlery or napkins provided. Gyoza was on point.
google avatar

Garrin E.

Yelp
Ehh....it's really hard to screw up a Pad Thai. This has to be the easiest (and one of the most requested) dishes in the world for an Asian restaurant to prepare. Yet mine was quite underwhelming. I really wanted to like this place too. They have an excellent location in the heart of Little 5 Points. Perhaps it's time to hire a new head chef?
google avatar

Grace F.

Yelp
Food was average, ordered delivery. The noodles were a little chewy. Not sure if the Doordash status was accurate but it seemed really long for the food to get ready once the driver was at the restaurant.
google avatar

Patrick A.

Yelp
Tried via DoorDash so can't discuss the restaurant/service. Food was overall average - tried the Thai 5 roll, salmon avo roll, California roll and avocado roll. The Thai 5 roll was good but the smoked salmon was overpowering unfortunately, the rest of the roll was delicious. The other three were pretty average when compared to other spots. Overall reasonable prices, reasonable sushi.

Yelp
Thai 5 is like a reliable friend and a solid lover all at once. As a Thai enthusiast, I regularly choose between T5 and Bangkok Thai to meet my Thai curry needs. But where Thai 5 edges out the competition is their sushi. It's unique for a Thai restaurant to offer such a deep assortment, and every roll I've had has been super fresh and tasty. I eat here at least twice a month and it's one of the few places I eat the same thing every time. But you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't break it. So boom, here are my fail-proof recommendations, which are available on the lunch and dinner menus: Apps: Cheese rolls Dragon Roll Tom Yum Soup Entrees: Panang Curry (make it spicy!) Pad Thai Khao Soi ******** - I tried this dish on a whim because I wanted noodles AND curry one day. Hands down my favorite dish here, listed as a special, I will protest if they ever remove it. This curry is deep, creamy, and has a cozy spice level. There are so many interesting flavors, from the cilantro to the raw red onion - everything melds together perfectly! Try this if you're feeling adventurous or need comfort food that has a little bit of everything! Beverages: My cocktails have never been strong enough here, so I always go with either the Thai Ice Tea or Coffee. (The tea is the standout!) We've done mostly takeout this year, but eating indoors here is cool - no frills, you won't find much ambience, but the service is always fast and the food is always good. Enjoy!

Yelp
I called this restaurant to ask a few simple questions. The manager was very unprofessional and rude. I was so shocked at her behavior, I had to make sure I was speaking with a manager. In the middle of me talking to her, she hung up on me! When I called back, I was not provided an apology or a reason as to why the call was disconnected. Im not sure what I said to make her respond in this manner. Common courtesy, over the phone, was not provided to me as a potential customer. Needless to say, I decided not to order any food from this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend anyone else order from here either if you want good customer service.

Madison K.

Yelp
Everything we've had here has been great dining in and carrying out. Just moved to candler park area and Thai 5 has been a staple already. Tom Kai soup, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and sushi rolls have all been fantastic. The service is kinda slow if you dine in, but it's worth the wait. Portion sizes are great too!
google avatar

John L.

Yelp
The entryway is uninspired and empty but the interior of the restaurant is cozy. I got the khao soi and although it was filling, the curry was overly sweet and the ingredients didn't blend well together. However, the service was great!

Parnian V.

Yelp
The waitstaff were very nice, but I'm sorry to say the subpar rating is accurate. They gave me chicken instead of pork which I usually wouldn't nitpick about, but it was on top of a long wait time and a generally underwhelming meal.
google avatar

Emory B.

Yelp
My second time here and it's always a great pit stop to make when I'm in the area shopping with friends and loved ones. I like how it's a little tucked away off the street and the interior (though I didn't get any pics of it). The vibe is very lowkey and cozy. The food was great. We ordered the Geisha Roll, California Roll, Supercrunch Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Thai Egg Rolls, and Spicy Pad Thai. All were easily delicious. And all for a great price. Somewhere, I'll continue to eat at for sure!
google avatar

Demetria H.

Yelp
I love Thai 5 ! This is my favorite sushi place in Atlanta. I've been here maybe 7-10 times and every single time is a hit. They make the best shrimp tempura roll in the city.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
We came around 5 pm and were the only ones there. Food came really quick and was exactly what we expected! From the outside, you can't tell what a nice space it is on the inside. Everyone was really friendly and attentive and made sure we were happy! I would defineitly go again
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Cool spot in Little 5 for a date night or sushi night with friends. The servers were attentive. The food came out quickly. I had the miso soup, chicken satay, and spicy hamachi roll. Everything was fresh and tasty. Really loved the satay! The drinking water though... taste just like a toilet. So just don't drink it.
google avatar

Tobi A.

Yelp
After all the years of visiting little 5 points I finally took the time out to stop by this Thai spot. When we arrived they were short staffed but honestly it didn't feel like it. Our food didn't take long at all. I ordered the pork fried rice and sushi (I can't remember the name). Food was definitely good. Definitely a must to come back.
google avatar

Kamil M.

Yelp
Thai 5 Roll is my fav thing to get when I come here! It is sooo good. Best raw sushi roll there is. Can't forget to dip it in the eel sauce. This is the best sushi place in Atlanta hands down. Their pad thai is also amazing. I got shrimp but you can choose any meat you would like. Love this place it never disappoints!
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
I tried out Thai 5 for Yelp's First Taste Friday in September. Holy molyyyyyyy! I did have it delivered via GrubHub (via Yelp), so I can't speak to the in-store experience. I have to imagine the people who work here are just actual food wizards, so I can't wait to return once I feel comfortable dining in restaurants! I ordered three things: Tom Kha Kai Soup (Thai coconut soup with soup) Papaya Salad (green papaya, peanuts, perfectly spicy!) Nam Tok Salad (grilled thin beef, onion, cilantro) First of all, the carry out portions are enough for more than two full meals for me. It was all packed perfectly. Nothing was leaking in the bag. There was a brown paper bag inside of the plastic bag, which balanced all the containers upright. The containers held the food in the perfect ways. The cabbage that as served with the nam tok salad arrived crisp and perfect. Can't wait to return!
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Cool spot in little five points that has a solid menu and good sush selection. Love me some sushi so 5*
google avatar

Stephen T.

Yelp
I picked up satay and sushi from here. The interior of the restaurant is weird, windowless, and gross. It's always been that way, even before it was occupied by Thai 5. It's just not a nice space -- I don't recommend dining in. But that isn't why I'm giving it one star. The satay didn't taste fresh and had a weird texture, like it had been marinated for too long and was turning rubbery. The sushi had bits of broccoli in it, which makes it seem like the cooks' work area wasn't clean. The rice tasted like soap, and the fish (salmon) was tougher and chewier than any raw salmon I've ever eaten. I ended up throwing away $50 worth of food.
google avatar

Sherri L.

Yelp
Yummy sushi (I had the lobster role and white tuna sashimi); nice ambiance; warm, friendly service. I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Anne-Olive N.

Yelp
a little confused upon walking in because of the stairs to go up and the empty restaurant and you know what they say about empty restaurants...however, I was pleasantly surprised. great portions as well as well tasting food. I ordered thai tea as well as pad see ew and appetizers. I loved the pad see ew and crushed my thai tea before my food even came out :( Would def recommend this place to someone else in the Little Five Points area!
google avatar

Jordan W.

Yelp
Thai 5 is a great option for simple and fresh Thai fare served quick for takeout or dine-in. We stopped in for dine-in on a recent Sunday evening, and sat in their eclectic but pleasant dining room. Although they clearly run a tight takeout operation, the dine-in service was very attentive and friendly. We started with an order of hot sake, and then ordered our starters. She went with the miso soup, whereas I had a huge, vegetarian green papaya salad, which was the highlight of my meal. Fresh, crunchy, and citrusy, it was one of the best salads I have had in recent memory. For our entrees, she had the pad see-u with tofu, whereas I had the panang curry with tofu. Both were delicious and classic, and satisfied our Thai food cravings. Thai 5 is in my top-tier of Thai spots in the area, if not alone for the green papaya salad, and I look forward to trying again soon.

Yelp
I love this area and the food wherever I go but this place was a let down. If you know anything about this area is that there is street parking with meters and parking lots you pay for. The atmosphere of the resturant is great. Dimly lit and looks like a great after hours dance spot. The staff was very nice even though we came at the tail end of lunch and was told the kitchen was closing in 15min. The lunch menu needs some work. The sushi side had only bento boxes and the regular sushi prices were astronomical so we decided to have Thai dishes. My friend ordered the Thai Basil that had more chicken than veggies but he said was good. I ordered pineapple fried rice with tofu. I was not impressed. The food taste was just ok and my rice wasn't all the way cooked. There was not a lot of pineapple the way I am used to with that dish. The overall experience was just ok. I think I will find sushi and thai somewhere else and just go to other places in that area to eat.
google avatar

Bob C.

Yelp
Excellent Thai and sushi dishes. Great ambiance for conversation. They have a lot of stuff piled in corners on the bar and "kind of" hidden away. I would definitely go back again!
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've ever had! I tried a curry and it was amazing. Then I had the crispy egg rolls with a shrimp cooked inside, so yummy!!! I definitely recommend this place!

Jacob A.

Yelp
Spectacular !! 10 starts !!! Let's start with the food . Incredibly good , very tasty and great portions . Customer service is awesome, the team is very friendly. Ambiance is very artsy the restaurant is in the middle of what appears to be arts district not sure it is . Parking is a little difficult yet there is a big parking lot across the street being cash for parking it's easier $15 as of 6/17/23 . I highly recommend this place . Prices are very very good in fact I thought I would be paying a lot more . Again I highly recommend!
google avatar

Cassidy H.

Yelp
Came here last minute for dinner close to their closing time and they were kind enough to give us a table. The food is slightly pricey but I do understand because everything in ATL is pricey. I'd have to say the food does match the price, everything we got was amazing! My friend got the panang curry and omg DELICIOUS! I'm definitely getting my own next time! The two sushi rolls we got were so so good as well, so fresh! The geisha roll was my fave!! Service was slightly slow but it was understandable because they were trying to close up. The ambiance is alright, it's very dark inside. I do think they need some new furniture because the booth we sat in had duct tape to patch a hole. The table was also very sticky. Also the entry way has a little funky smell. Overall, I would come back because their food is really good!
google avatar

Catera W.

Yelp
This is a staple in L5P. I've been wanting to check this place out for a minute. After shopping at Rag-O-Rama I decided to check them out. Thai 5 has a chill vibe, welcoming environment, and vast menu: both food & drinks. Upon entering you have to wait to be seated. The restaurant offers plenty of seating and good lighting (for pics) lol. Adjacent to the sushi bar is the drink bar. The bar offers a variety of drinks-mixed, sake, beer: foreign & domestic. The restaurant also has an ATM inside the restaurant. I order my food to go so I can't comment on the service however, the cashier was very pleasant. I will go back to dine in.
google avatar

Wende B.

Yelp
The food is good but they are really mean and rude about bathrooms. I am not a person experiencing homelessness and yet I know they are human and this business goes out of their way to dehumanize people. The waiter also misgendered me 3 times and then stopped waiting on me when I mentioned the bathroom issue. He then misgendered me again and made fun of me for giving the restaurant a second chance after I complained about the dehumanizing language on their door. If you care about people, do not eat at this restaurant.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Love the food here. Easy to access. Host are friendly. Location iffy but overall it's close to my place and I recommend

Diriki G.

Yelp
I called earlier 3x and couldn't get anyone on the phone. I had to come in and place my order, which was annoying because the parking in Little 5 Points is suboptimal. The guy behind the counter tonight verbally repeated my order to me when I came to the counter to pick it up, and when I got home, he'd given me the wrong food. $30+ down the drain, and now they are closed. Do better.
google avatar

Everett L.

Yelp
An interesting experience! First off, if you plan to drive here then think again. There's extremely limited parking. At first I was going to order delivery because I was lazy, but the difference between delivery and pickup was about $14, not including tip. I live 7 minutes away, walking, so I just went and got it instead. The food! I got a massaman curry and a pad thai. I asked for no onions or avocado and they easily adjusted for me, and the order came out correct. In other words, they're good with picky eaters! The amount is decent, too. They fill a black, microwavable bowl, that appears to be 6" wide, and about 2" tall. The pad thai was pretty dang good. Not spicy at all, and I was never asked a spice level, so I don't know if they do heat. It comes with peanuts, so if you have an allergy then make sure to ask for it to be removed. The massaman curry was a let down and the reason for the 4 stars. It was so thin and bland. It almost tasted like they had watered it down. It comes with a side of rice in a microwavable container. I'll definitely go again, but I would think twice about getting the curry!

Yelp
Because it is the best, all around. They continue to improve and I love everyone that works there. Thai 5 & Sushi in Little 5 Points, forever.

Cy P.

Yelp
Got the address confused a little and had to wait a few more minutes. But overall pleased.

Kimber B.

Yelp
Great customer service. The lady who served me had a smile each time she came to the table which I really appreciated. Food was delicious.
