Thai Central Cuisine Review - Thai Town - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Thai Town is full of restaurants that do specific dishes well—boat noodles, roasted duck, khao man gai, to name a few—which is great if everyone in your group wants the same thing. If not, that’s when a place like Thai Central Cuisine comes in handy. This bright yellow spot shares a jam-packed strip mall with Ruen Pair but is half as crowded, so even a big group can comfortably walk in and finish eating within an hour or so. The lengthy menu casts a wide net of regional styles, with eye-catching options like lime-drenched seabass bubbling in a fish-shaped hot pot to the signature fried pork belly sliced extra thick with audibly crunchy skin. Besides the usual curries and noodle stir-fries for your less adventurous friends, you’ll also find a mini tour of regional Thai dishes like khao soi and pork soup with jiggly cubes of cooked blood. Everything is done reasonably well, and while Thai Central might not be our absolute favorite Thai spot in town, it might be most likely to make everyone in your crew happy." - Sylvio Martins

Thai Central Cuisine wasn’t on the itinerary during our Los Angeles trip, but we stumbled upon it after descending from the Hollywood Hills. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be the best meal we had in the city — and one of the highlights of our entire trip. The flavors and presentation still linger in our minds until now, and we often find ourselves talking about it to this day. It was the perfect farewell dinner to mark our final night in Los Angeles and the end of our journey. The Seafood soup is a must-try. This was in July 2024, yes I am late but did not forget posting this well-deserved compliment to this hidden gem! If ever I go to LA again, this is the first place to go on my list!

Google
Sooooo good!!! I had my reservations as I love Thai food and it’s hard to find Thai food as good as what you have in Thailand, but this place is it!! I don’t know where to start because everything was so good!! We had the pork jerky, prad ka prow with chicken & egg, phat see ew flat noodle, fried tofu, and the noodle soup- with egg noodle. The broth was delicious, the flavors very layered without being overwhelming, the ambience is very welcoming. As a family, we definitely would come back again. Next time, I’ll try the curry ❤️😌

Situated in the same plaza as the famous Ruen Pair, this restaurant has its own unique flavors! We got tom yum noodle, crispy pork, phu pla rha papaya salad. Both spice level: medium- there was a nice kick!! Love the food.

Google
Thai Central Cuisine in LA offers such amazing Thai food that I wish I could bring it back to Canada! The flavors are authentic and vibrant, making every dish a culinary delight. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy meal. Whether you’re a fan of spicy curries or savory noodles, this place has something for everyone. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves Thai cuisine!

Google
Great thai food in a casual setting, and there are Thai desserts in the same plaza. Khao soi was excellent, crispy pork belly basil was a little too salty. They give you complementary shrimp chips which was nice. Overall a great experience, I would go back.

Message to Management/Owner: We ordered Tam Thaad (Picture and Description has grill Chicken). What we got is grilled pork instead (see picture). The server never informed us of the meat replacement. We complained about it, but the server would offer any meat replacement. While eating, my wife saw a piece of staple (see picture) on her food. We can't image what would happened if we chew or swallow the piece of metal. We don't know if there are more staples or other things that were served in our food. We informed the server and she told us that they will remake the disk without the grill pork. We asked for a manager, but were informed that there is no manager at the restaurant. We were so pissed off at their non-caring attitude (no apology for serving us food with staple) that we asked the to have the remake food togo. The server gave us the check that included the desert item that was not delivered. We have to ask the server to remove the item. When we got home and inspect whether what we got were really remade: The "remake dish" was definitely just whatever in our plate earlier: 1. No noodle. 2. The salad have no crab meat at all. 3. No meat (like they told us). We are regular customers since we like some dishes here. This experience really makes us think about coming back.

Google
Went for late lunch on a Thursday with a colleague. Cold and wet weather prompted us to order soups. I ordered the Pork Rib Noodle soup. Got it medium spicy with flat noodles and without shrimp! It was delicious! Mildly sweet and tangy broth with morsels of pork rib meat was well balanced. Adding the pickled multi-colored thai chilis for an extra bite took it up another notch!

Came here with some friends of mines I’m from Chicago and the food scene here is ridiculously delicious so glad I got to taste their food I don’t remember the names of the plates of food we had but I have pics cannot wait to come back here when I visit LA again 🤤 😋

Yelp
The Thai food I've been searching for! Had dinner with friends here, and it was worth the drive from OC. There were so many new flavors to be enjoyed, but more importantly, there was a completely different whole cooked fish that was not fried but cooked in a hot plate (more on that later). Came in on a Tuesday night, light crowd so we were seated quickly. Our server was prompt and courteous. We ordered 5 items: e-san sausage, papaya salad with crispy pork, chicken khao soi, crab curry with kanom jean, and the steamed fish with lime sauce. The sausage was nice and crispy and paired well with all the garnishes creating a nice balance of texture and flavor. The papaya salad was bright and cut the fattiness of the yummy fried pork belly. The khao soi was creamy, and the flavors penetrated the chicken perfectly while the noodles had a nice bounce to it. The crab curry was a party; with so many different garnishes, you had endless flavors and textures to try out. For me, the star of the show was the steamed whole fish cooked in lime sauce: delicate and perfectly cooked. The lime sauce had a nice kick and felt more like a light broth that I could drizzle over rice and eat all day. The 4 of us shared this meal and were full at the end of dinner; I myself was very content with every bite. The restaurant is nestled in the corner of a strip mall full of Thai restaurants. Although not flashy and eye-catching as the other restaurants, Thai Central Cuisine instead shines with the quality and flavor of their food; they are confident in their food, blending bold and subtle flavors. Definitely willing to make the drive from OC to try more of their dishes.

Yelp
I ordered the papaya salad with pork belly and a pork hock stew (or pork feet stew--can't quite remember the exact name), and both were absolutely delicious. The papaya salad was perfectly seasoned, and the pork belly was incredibly crispy. The pork hock stew was rich and flavorful--definitely a must-try. Their servings are pretty generous, which makes sense since Thai cuisine is often served family-style for sharing. For example, we ordered a medium-sized rice, and it was a lot more than expected. So just a heads-up--the portions are quite big! If you visit, I highly recommend these dishes. Just a heads-up--if you have a shrimp allergy, make sure to let them know. Other than that, the service was great, and the food was excellent. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
This restaurant is located inside a very thai cultured plaza. There'a only valet parking for this restaurant. The food was authentic Thai---especially their Soup and grilled fish. The Soup was well balanced between sour and spicy. It was a great way to start your meal. The grilled Fish was highly valued and tasty -- definitely reminds the Southeastern way of eating. I've also ordered the Fried Pork and Drunken Noodles, but it had a bit disappointment. The Fried Pork was too dry, but the green sauce was flavorful. The drunken noodle didn't have much wok-power and coloring to the dish. The noodles were a bit soggy and not chewy as I was expecting it to be. The staff were friendly. A comfortable dining restaurant for family and friends, or even a date night. Overall a great restaurant for Thai food.

Yelp
The things we ordered were alright. Cute plating, clean interior, unique selection of entrees that differed from your typical thai restaurants. Sizeable portions. Food came out quick. There's outdoor seating for tables of 2. Ordered: Pad thai shrimp $16 - Tasty, but could use more spice. Thankfully there was an array of spices, dry chili flakes, and pickled chilis. best thing 7/10 Yen ta fo $16 - acquired taste. Tart... interesting aftertaste. The broth wasn't mine or mom's favorite, but the large rice noodles and combination of ingredients was pretty good. Wouldn't get again, though I'm glad I tried it. 5/10 Spicy curry catfish $18 - slight kick was nice but also slightly salty. Has bones, fun to nibble on. 6/10 Thai Tea $4 - not too sweet. Small White Rice $3 Self parked for $6 on a Saturday afternoon around 4PM. Valet would have been $3 for 1.5 hours or so.

Yelp
* Price: $20 on average per dish due to inflation. The portion is still generous and good for sharing. 4 stars. * Ambiance: small restaurant but clean and cute. They has some outdoor tables on pavement. 4 stars. * Location: Hollywood Blvd, Thai town, in a small shopping area, many restaurants around. Parking is challenging around this area. Parking in front of the restaurant is free before 5 pm. After 5 pm, $4 (no bad). 4 stars. * Meals: quality and authentic. Everything is so fresh and delicious. 5 stats. * Services: excellent. There is only one lady taking orders and serving with a smile. She also gives good recommendations to guests and constantly checks on guests. 5 stats. This place is still our favorite Thai restaurant in town. My favorite dishes are papaya salad with crispy shrimp ($19.99), fried rice ($17 to $19), drunken noodles ($17), parang curry ($19). We finally tried the whole fish (about $37). The whole fish was coated with salt and grilled over charcoal. The skin is very crsipy but the meat is very moist. It is served with vermicelli rice noodles, wrapped with lettuces, mints, cilantro and dipped in fish sauces with crushed green Thai chilly. My mouth is watering just from writing! It's so good! This dish takes 25-30 min to prepare... so order it as soon as you sit down. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Wasn't too busy on a Friday night. My friend and I was feeling thai food. Fate made us came in and tried. I ordered " Thai Boat Noodles " that was yummy. My friend gotten " Crispy Pork Fried Rice " and he told me it was good. The place was roomie and our service was good as well. Will come back again sometime in the future. ^-^

Yelp
Been here twice now and just love it. Everything comes out so darn fast and I haven't had one bad thing on the menu. You can walk in without a reservation. Steamed Lime Fish: amazing and so sour, get this if you love lime! Papaya Salad with Crispy Pork: their papaya salad is very good, got it hot. The pork on the side was crunchy, a perfect contrast to the salad. Crab fried rice: a staple, as expected. Drunken Noodle: good and spicy, another staple dish.

Yelp
Thai Central Cuisine is the [relatively] new kid on the block! My friend and I pulled into this plaza, valeted the car (this lot is always valet) and were sat right away. No wait on a Saturday night was awesome, but the place quickly did fill up. It's newish...but it's popular! With such a huge array of items on menu, it was so hard to pick what to order. Trust when I say, I'll be back to try more. Might I also mention, their menu was very high quality! So fancy like a book quality! Before I digress anymore, on to what I ate on my first stop in... Thai Crab Cakes ($15) - I hadn't ever had these before but enjoyed thedeep fried, round crab and pork filled tofu skins. Liked this dish but unsure if I fifteen dollars liked it. Crispy Pork ($16) - My favorite of the dishes. I mean, it was crispy pork belly so it's hard to go wrong. However, they cooked it well and I liked dipping it in the sweet & sour sauce that came with the crab cakes. Stir Fried Thai Basil Over Rice ($14) - Tons of ground meat which we added, delicious taste and great balance throughout the dish. Service was friendly and very detail oriented. It was slow getting our check but other than that, perfect staff. It gives me old school Thai Town vibes but upgraded to more modern decor and service. I'm down with it all at Thai Central Cuisine and can't wait to try more!

Yelp
Thai Central Cuisine is a must-visit! The valet parking was super convenient. The service was good, the staff were friendly and attentive. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing meal. The food was absolutely delicious! - The crispy pork with papaya salad was bursting with flavor - The noodles in the rich blood soup base were comforting and authentic - The fried rice was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving great Thai food!

Yelp
Pretty good food overall! I appreciated the variety of their dishes, including some that are not typically seen in Thai restaurants in America. My boys played it safe with some pad see ewe and enjoyed it a bit. I thought it could have used a little more char on the noodles, but they liked it. They also got an order of moo ping, which was super tasty. We also got Thai som tum, which was pretty tasty and definitely freshly made. I tried the yentafo, and it had a good flavor, though I would have preferred a little more sour and a little less spice. The toppings were great, and I loved the blood cube - very hard to cook right. I like how they also give options for noodle sizes. I only got 1 shrimp in the bowl, which I found odd. Very friendly service. One of the servers looked mortified because she spilled water at me right before I paid the bill, but she was very gracious about the whole incident.

Yelp
I am giving this place a FIVE STAR review. The place was in a plaza with moderate parking spaces and I love the fact they open early. The place was clean (bathroom as well), which was a plus. The customer service was awesome. I can tell that the food is very authentic and delicious! They stay true to their ingredients and don't over do it! That's the best, simple but made with love! Definitely recommend this place. FYI they also have like ready made food on the side, by the cashier station which looks pretty good. Will definitely will try.

Yelp
Food was very flavorful and had a good kick. The medium was pretty spicy so keep that in mind. Service was quick and the place is nestled in the Thailand plaza which adds to the vibe. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! This little Thai restaurant sits in a small shopping center with maybe 10 different Thai eateries. The parking lot was right in front and on a busy Saturday night the valet guys were busy. When you enter the outdoor center you will see one restaurant with 20-40 year olds lined up waiting 30 minutes to eat at an elbow to elbow restaurant. How's the food?...I don't know. But, we ate at Thai Central Cuisine. A typical Thai menu. And instead of a hip young crowd this place had some young folks and a mix of families. And as I do with any new Thai restaurant I go for the Panang Curry to compare against all the other places I've gone to. Thai Centrals was GReat!. They offer it in mild, medium or Hot. I usually get hot. But, tried the medium. The rice was an extra $3 but it's a must with curry. It was full of flavor and tasty. The beef was probably the most TENDER meat I've had at most restaurants. My wife had the DRUNKEN NOODLE with tofu and she devoured it! (Who are we kidding...she devours everything Ha!). There were no leftovers. Bathrooms were clean and the staff served us quick and with a smile. Oh and the noise level was average. (Apple Pay Accepted) I would come back.

Yelp
Thai Central Cuisine came highly recommended by a friend, so I was pretty excited to check this place out. Admittedly, I hadn't heard of this restaurant before, though it does seem to be relatively new. Located in the same plaza as Ruen Pair, there's lots to do and see in the immediate area. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. Not my favorite in Thai Town, but definitely solid. The four of us ordered a wide variety of items to share, and each was delicious (unfortunately I didn't get a picture of all of them). The ambience was nice, and service was OK. Our waitress was friendly and the food came out relatively quick.

Yelp
This is an excellent spot if you're in the mood for rich, authentic thai cuisine. I loved the sour pork soup.
google avatar

Sergio G.

Yelp
I was really disappointed in this place which was surprising because I seen so many people there so I had to try it. I will not be returning. The pineapple rice did not have a great taste. The crispy pork was about the only good thing out of the meal. The pad see ew was just ok. The server was very attentive. It was a clean place, indoor and outdoor seating. There's valet parking.
google avatar

Faye A.

Yelp
Our go to place for Thai food. Will drive to Hollywood just to have Thai food here even if there are a dozen other places closer to where we live.
google avatar

Yelp
Really good authentic Thai spot. The best in the plaza it's in. We came for lunch on a Monday plenty of parking. But if you come at night beware it's pretty crazy and you probably won't find parking in there. Seated quickly by friendly staff. Ordered the steamed fish with lime and the fried rice with tofu. Came out very quick. The fish was very limey and was delicious. Came right off the bone and the juice underneath was garlicky and good over rice. Fried rice was exceptional and tofu was crispy. Hot sauces on the table to doctor it up and make everything more spicy. Huge portions enough for 2. Good prices. Large interior a lot of tables. Would recommend. There's also dessert right next door so save room.

Ed H.

Yelp
The spicy curry catfish is one of the best foods I've ever eaten. We went there twice for breakfast (they open at 9am). Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kason H.

Yelp
The food was decent, with some dishes standing out more than others. The flavors were good, but I expected a bit more authenticity. Service was okay, but not very attentive. Overall, a solid experience but nothing extraordinary.
google avatar

Serene A.

Yelp
I love Thai food and Thai Central Cuisine did not disappoint me entirely. I've been making it a mission to try more Thai places and not go to my regular spots and sometimes it can be a hit or miss but I really enjoyed this location. Although I do wish their red curry was more thick. I love Tom Kha seafood and I loved it here. The papaya salad was great loved it. The servers come and check on you here and there and are nice. I would say this Thai restaurant has more space than some others but if it gets busy then the tables they have can fill up very quickly but it feel pretty spacious. It's in a plaza with other popular Thai restaurants but I hope more come to this one as well.

Yelp
This restaurant is a go to for my friend whenever she does a road trip down to SoCal (we're from the Bay Area). Ambiance: 4 out of 5 Appreciated that they decorated a little for Halloween. Overall the decorations didn't stand out too much from your average mom and pop type of restaurant. But I was in love with that cut out sign illuminated with a little neon light behind it. I didn't notice it when I first walked in, but as I was walking out, I did notice a food service counter for customers to quickly grab some food to go. Such a great idea! Food: 5 out of 5 This place probably had the best pad Thai I've ever had!!! I loved that they did a fried egg instead of scrambled eggs for this dish. And the extra fish sauce just made the dish explode with flavor. I added crispy pork to mine which helped added some good extra crunch to the dish. I saw a little postcard on the table that they were in the running for Singha Beer's best pad Thai and I definitely understand the hype! While we didn't order it, I loved that they had a pineapple fried rice option served in a pineapple bowl! Definitely appreciated the presentation for their dishes. My boyfriend loves taking pictures of our dishes when we eat out, and everything definitely looked IG worthy. Service: 4 out of 5 Staff was polite and attentive. The food also came out surprisingly quickly which was great as we were starving! Location: 3 out of 5 I know this is not the restaurants fault, but parking seems like it would be a nightmare. My group lucked out with getting street parking outside of the plaza early on a Sunday morning. But TCC is inside a smallish plaza with only paid parking which is strictly enforced by an attendant. Fortunately it's free for pick up orders. But there are at least 5 other restaurants in this plaza so I can only imagine how difficult parking can be during peak dining hours. Price: 5 out of 5 Most dishes were under $20, which I feel like is pretty on par with other Thai restaurants I've been to.

Yelp
Thai Central Cuisine offers a delightful experience with its delicious Thai Iced Tea, vibrant Yellow Chicken Curry, and flavorful Chicken Satays. Each dish is well-prepared, making it a great spot for a satisfying Thai meal.

C B.

Yelp
Comparing all the other restaurants in the same shopping center, today being Monday (holiday) lunch specials not being offered. So we decided to try Thai Central. Lots of options to choose from, Welcoming customer service, food ratio to prices something to consider. For Thai food, it's okay!.

Yelp
Looking forward to go back. The restaurant offers atypical dishes like Crispy Chive Cakes & Grilled Meatballs. We had Fried Fish Cakes which were excellent. Very fresh and packed with fish instead of fillers. I had the Crab Curry. Good flavor with some heat, but there wasn't much crab meat. I definitely prefer the crab curry from Luv 2 Eat Thai Bistro where you get the whole crab although a small one. Hubby tried the Sukiyaki (dry) with pork. It was delicious. The restaurant is located in a plaza with many other (Thai) restaurants. "Valet" parking is $3 while street parking is very tough. Here is a tip. The new Thai dessert shop (Kanomwaan Thai) is in the same plaza, right across from Central Thai Cuisine.

Yelp
Came by for dinner the other night and it was a disappointing experience. Paid valet parking was available in addition to street parking in the area. The restaurant looked appealing from the outside with colorful menus. Dining is available both indoors or outdoors. Staff wore disposable gloves and I even saw staff use the restroom and come out while wearing the same pair of gloves... Started off with the shrimp paste fried rice which was recommended by the staff. To my surprise, this was a huge disappointment. The shrimp paste was bland and more importantly, the fried rice felt like it was pre-made and merely heated up in the microwave... The pork also felt pre-made and warmed up in the microwave... The side of Chinese sausage, cucumbers, green beans, and apples were fine. Ordered the crispy pork belly as part of my dinner and this came out fresh from the fryer a good 10-15 minutes after the fried rice came out. The pork belly seemed to have been refried and at least half of it was super dry. The other half was less dry... they did have some chili sauce to go with the re-fried crispy pork belly... ~$42 for microwaved shrimp paste fried rice and re-fried crispy pork belly for dinner after tax and gratuity for dinner...with staff that wear disposable gloves in the restroom and come out with the same pair of gloves...

Yelp
My hubby found this place and brought me here to try it and I absolutely loved it! So much flavor and so yummy to your palette, not overly spicy but a great kick. I really like the papaya salad and the Tom yum noodle soup came with flat noodles. Service was excellent and not as crowded as the other Thai restaurants in the same plaza that I didn't think taste that great. I prefer this restaurant more. Highly recommend if you don't want to wait in long lines.

Yelp
It's in Thai town so it has to measure up, and compete. It used to be another spot. Don't remember the name. Decided to give em a shot and ordered Kua Kai noodles with chicken, and it "did" measure up, so will be back soon to sample more.

Yelp
Food is just okay compared to other Thai restaurants in the surrounding area. Service is great and helpful. Ambiance is casual. This place was packed with people when we previously looked at. Today, we decided to give Thai Central Cuisine a try and we're NOT impressed at all by the food. The beer was not cold and when questioned for a colder beer - was told that's the way it comes. We won't be back, period !

Yelp
I loved this restaurant. All almost of dishes are tasty. My favorite is of Thai, boat noodle, Tom yum noodle, , . Today ordered delivery. Disappointed. Pad Thai shrimp for $19 came with only 5 small sizes of shrimp. Usually when I eat in the restaurant, it came with big Sabrina around 6-8 pieces.

Yelp
Services are good, polite and happy Straight away after we got our seats they bring colds water and glasses to the table , So good starts Food are variety ,so far it's a bit too sweet on every dishes The one I found that is great is "Thai sausages" it's deep fried, not oily, taste good , plenty of ginger and nuts ,make this dish is so good Like I mention the rest are Abby too sweet even I put 2-3spoons of vinegar in,still sweet The rest are good

Yelp
This hit the spot - was craving a noodle soup and appreciated that they let you customize, although can feel overwhelming (like ordering a Starbucks). The meat portion was small for the price and the noodles on the softer side/not al dente, but the broth was rich and flavorful!
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Located in Thai town! The food was okay but a bit overpriced. I wished they had had pork satay instead of chicken. The pineapple looks good, but there isn't enough pineapple taste. The servers can speak Thai.

Yelp
We came here last week for ton Tom Yon Soup. We also purchased some other Thai food plates here that were delicious. Food has lots of flavors , and a combo of different noodles. Love the vibe here and the drinks. Everything is relatively medium in price. Depending what you order. All in all, i want to come back for more.

Yelp
Okayyyy - new restaurant alert. Thai Central opened in November 2023 and it's already making a great impression. Thai Central is becoming a great alternative for those who can't wait for Ruen Pair. It has a gorgeous menu with pictures and recommendations. There's ample seating and service was great. Our group of four was pleasantly surprised. The have multiple versions of papaya salad. The classic for 14 was delightful, but we should have done the crispy pork add-on which is $17 total. Instead we ordered the classic papaya AND a separate plate of crispy pork (16) which was super filling and came with 12 pieces and a great dipping sauce. Clearly our eyes were bigger than our tummies. My Tom Yum Noodles (12.95) was reasonably priced and HUGE. I was delicious and satisfying especially compared to other spots that charge so much more for a smaller portion. My friends were obsessed with their Khao Soi (15) - They kept making mmm sounds and were shocked at how large and delicious it was. I'm excited to try the Rad Na next time and also happy that the food is reasonably priced and perfectly portioned in a beautiful setting. Looks like we have a new Thai spot!

Yelp
A strong strong five stars for this place! I do feel that it's been more difficult to find a really good Thai place in the last few years, but this place nails it. Everything is good but there are a few dishes that are so great that it really takes it to the next level. I can't pick between what I think are their two standouts: Yen Ta Fo and Laab. The Yen Ta Fo is absolutely incredible. It's not the most common but they do such a great job with the flavors and balancing the sweetness and having a nice level of spice. The Laab also is spicy, bright, smoky, and so so delightful despite its deceptive simplicity. To round it out, the staff is incredible and they have outdoor seating! There are 3 tables for 2 so good for small groups or a separated large group. But this has to be one of my favorite Thai places I've visited.

Yelp
Service is great, never have to wait long for a table, food is all amazing. Their Papaya Salad is the best in town Lime Fish is a MUST!!!!

Yelp
Really lovely atmosphere for a date! The pad see ew was delicious!! I wish there were more noodles but it was very good. Enjoyed the veggie egg rolls and the cab sav wine by the glass. Also had vegetable red curry. The flavor was delicious but wish it was thicker. I will be back.

Yelp
We came to go to our normal spot but the line was crazy long, so checked reviews and this place popped up in the same lot. Was SO glad we tried it, the food was excellent. I suspect once people catch it will be busier. Had the pad thai, pork jerky with sticky rice and the crisps fish w chili - all was excellent. Not gonna lie the flavors beat Ruen...

Yelp
I brought along a friend who had never been here before. Upon entering, we were welcomed by a tastefully decorated and impeccably clean establishment. We ordered pad see ew, Crab Fried Rice, and Penang Curry (which is truly the best!). My friend thoroughly enjoyed the food and her overall visit.

One of our friends lives nearby and took us here for dinner and I am sooooo glad he did!!! This place is BOMB. Every dish was tasty but the catfish.... You must order the catfish! I'm from the south and can honestly say this is the best catfish I've ever had. Definitely on the spicier side, it's a salty spicy savory flavor bomb. The crispy fry on the fish adds a nice texture to the dish, as well as the fried Thai basil leaves. Make sure you don't bite down on the full peppercorns in the sauce, they're sharp and bitter. The pineapple fried rice is a highlight as well. A must visit restaurant in Thai town.

Yelp
Recently came here because me and my husband love thai food and were missing something good and authentic but also new that we hadn't tried before. Thai Central Cuisine is located in a plaza with other eateries such as desserts and boba with valet parking. Parking was also free. Food- Both me and my husband ordered off of the chef recommended section of the menu. My husband ordered the Khao Soi Chicken, which he said was delicious, but the mild spice was a little too spicy for him (he really can't handle spicy well).. I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice and subbed the shrimp with tofu instead since I'm vegetarian, and it was absolutely 5/5 stars. The pineapple was sweet and juicy and the rice was perfectly cooked with nice flavor. Also to note that this place has a nice, clean restroom which is not always the case in LA.

Yelp
Best Thai food ever! I absolutelylove their Boat Noodle Soup. It's the best I've had anywhere (I get it without the liver thou). Everything is made to perfection here....authentically Thai. Service has always been fantastic and food comes out quickly. Happy they have a few tables outside and did some decorating inside to make it brighter and colorful....cozy but nice. Highly recommend if you can't decide amongst the 100s of Thai restaurants nearby.

Yelp
Visited few times and I think this may be the last. Food here is great but service is chaotic and abysmal Came here a little past noon and ordered 2 starters an 2 Ala carte. Which dish came out 15 min apart (aside from the rice) and brought an order that was incorrect. 3 ppl working FOH and they just don't have a good system down. One server bob cut (short hair) was so rude and clearly she was not happy at all was so curt to everyone. Her attitude was so off-putting. The large party of 8 may have impacted their service but they kept delivering the wrong plates to tables and didn't have a good control of things. The kitchen back staff must've been so worn out. Last, because we waited for each dish to come out, the hygiene - cleanliness is something I will call out to diners here. While I appreciate them using gloves, they should follow through and change them out as they bus tables with dirty dishes and napkins, handling serverware and food to diner. We left without finishing our meal at the restaurant and left cash on the table. Advice for the restaurant: perhaps take note from other establishments in the plaza on how to operate FOH during peak times and not staff crabby folks.

Yelp
Wow, we just discovered Thai Central in LA after taking our golden doodle to the dog park nearby and the food is incredible. We got the pad see ew and the panang curry, it was some of the best we had. We eat Thai food wherever we go and we have lived in Thailand before so we know what a good authentic Thai Cuisine tastes like. We will definitely be back

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday night with a few friends, and it wasn't that busy! Everything here just hits. Amazingly good. We got the crispy pork belly, crispy chive cakes, green curry, curry catfish, and thai basil pork. My favorite dish was the curry catfish. I've never had anything like it before. It was just perfectly spicy and sweet. The only dish that was a little bit of a miss for me was the pork belly. The meat was a bit too dry and the skin was a bit hard to eat. The sauce it was served with was amazing though. They have a pretty big menu which means I have to come back for more!

Yelp
What an unexpected pleasure! Late lunch on a rainy day. Crab curry with Kano Jean, crisp sprouts, cabbage, mustard greens and carrot. Fresh and delicious, as was the crab curry. Boat Noodle soup with pork, loaded with pork, tripe, liver and meatballs in a fragrant, star anise broth. Ice cold beer served with frosted glasses, nice touch! Lovely staff. We bought sausages to go as well. Will definitely return!
