Where to Eat Nashville’s Best Thai Food | Eater Nashville

"With the move to Music Row, Esane has a bit more room to stretch its legs — along with its patio space and, more importantly, its bar menu. Walking into the elevated 3,500-square-foot location, diners are greeted with a six-foot-tall golden Buddha, shipped straight to Music City from Thailand. The menu still features favs from the 12 South location (hello, dumplings and papaya salad) along with new dishes from Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. There are also locations in East Nashville, Brentwood, and Assembly Food Hall at Fifth + Broadway." - Clara Wang

I got the pad see ew which is always my favorite Thai dish. It was good, but it was pretty greasy and the chicken was kinda stringy. My friend got the brisket fried rice and it was alright, however I’ll warn the brisket taste is very over powering and it was also greasy. Service was fast and the food court was packed. Prices were not bad for downtown.

Had a great experience! We came from CA for a bachelorette and I chose Thai Esane. Ordered the Pad Thai and it was flavorful. I added some chili oil for that perfect level of spice. Others in our party ordered the drunken noodles and lo mein and also had good things to say. Not sure if they changed things up, but we were satisfied!

7/22/2025 - The meal at Thai Esane in Assembly Food Hall was enjoyable. The food was authentic Thai cuisine. The Red Curry and Panang Curry were flavorful and tasted like genuine Thai dishes. The cooks worked hard to keep up with the orders, preparing dishes efficiently despite the large number of customers. While some patrons might find the portions small (approximately two pieces of chicken per order), it is important to remember this is a food hall setting and the pricing reflects that. Other five-star Thai restaurants may cater to those seeking a larger quantity of food at a higher price. You want a 5 stars Thai food, you go to a 5 stars Thai restaurant that will charge you a 5 stars pricing for your 5 stars stomach. Happy people focus on what they have. Unhappy people focus on what is missing.

Thai Esane is a cool spot inside the food hall in downtown Nashville. The food hall has tons of options, but I chose Thai Esane for some tasty Thai food. Even though it was super busy, my red curry with chicken and rice came out pretty fast. The food was delicious, and I was really happy with the quality. There are lots of places to sit and enjoy your meal, which is great. If you like Thai food, I definitely recommend checking out Thai Esane. I was pleasantly surprised!

Love this food court. My son had crab Rangoon. So tasty and fresh. Brisket fried rice was excellent!!

Google
Pad Thai had no flavor at all aside from the lime juice I had to use Herculean strength to squeeze on. The noodles were soggy and chicken was spongy (see pic). The chicken tasted like the kind you’d get in a prepackaged salad. Also ordered this during happy hour that’s posted everywhere in the food hall that leads to a link advertising that this would be $10 but I was charged full price, which would be fine if it actually tasted good! Hate to be bashing a local business but it’s a red flag when a Thai place can’t do pad Thai.

Google
I really enjoy Thai food and after seeing this place with 4.1 stars, I was excited! When I got my food on the other hand, I was not so satisfied. Turns out, I was looking at the wrong Thai Esane. :( I got the Fresh Rolls (no shrimp) and Pad Thai (chicken). The fresh rolls were just a chopped salad mix that you would find in any cafeteria wrapped inside of rice paper. There were no noodles, no cilantro, no flavor. And the “peanut sauce” that the rolls came with was a regular salad vinaigrette mixed with peanut butter. The pad thai had flavorless, overcooked, starchy noodles with chicken that when I bit into it, felt like it was made out of tofu (which wouldn't be a problem if that's what I had ordered). The servers were nice, fast, and competent at what they have been told to make. I’m just disappointed in the overall quality of the food.

Google
I don't know what happened here because it used to be good but you would be better off getting food out of the trash. Look at recent reviews. The chicken is awful, freezer burned, and mushy. The flavor of the rice was awful at best. The amount of food they gave equated to about maybe a few table spoons, which I guess means less went into the trash. Total waste of money and time. I was absolutely starving and still chose to toss it. Everyone would be better off with a different restaurant in that location. I would gladly give 0 stars if I could.

Yelp
Decent Thai food prepared quickly and made to order at Assembly Food Hall. With all of the available hot chicken, pulled pork, and beef brisket, Thai Esane is a nice alternative.

Yelp
I really would like to like this more but I can't. This Thai place is located in Assembly hall food court. After 10 hours drive we want to just find something close to eat. Assembly food hall has so many different options however my husband and I agree we wanted the Thai food. He opted for brisket fried rice while I opted for pad see ew. The fried rice pretty good. I think because of the brisket. The pad see ew however quite let down. I asked for medium. It was bland and not even remotely spicy. So my husband asked them for hot sauce and they gave us chili oil. Whatever in that chili oil it was significantly improved the taste. Would I come back again? Eh... if I'm starving and no other options maybe. I like the assembly hall maybe I would look other options. Great place and ambience... clean and has many place to seat.

Yelp
We try crab rangoons everywhere we go. I had to order some when I spotted them on the menu. Not much crab, and otherwise very ordinary rangoons. Nothing exceptional but still tasty.

Nickie P.

Yelp
I got the crab Rangoon as an appetizer and it was more cream cheese than crab but still delicious. The chicken pad see was good and served fresh and hot. Not a large amount but still good for $23 at the food hall.

Yelp
Great first visit to Thai Esane! Highly recommend this spot at Assembly Food Hall (plenty of indoor seating available and multiple cuisine options to choose from), as the mobile / online ordering was really simple to operate, and the food only took 10-15 minutes to prepare fresh off the grill. Thankful for some text updates! Tried the garlic stir fried vegetables with chicken (~$15 - $20 with tip), and I would get this again. If you're not too afraid of a little spice kick, then I think you should go with the hot level (didn't try their highest "nina" level, but may opt for this next time). Plenty of other menu options that I'd like to try on a future visit (pad see ew, more traditional pad thai, etc.). Look forward to coming back here to explore the menu.

Yelp
Ordered Pad Kra Pao, a classic SPICY Thai dish made with crushed Thai chili pepper and Thai basil... neither ingredient used. Meal was bland and flavorless... they threw some red and green pepper and onion on it but still was extremely bland... if you are looking for real Thai (not Falange/Americanized Thai) avoid this place.

Yelp
We love Assembly Food Hall and aim to try a new place every time we come here. Thai Esane was our restaurant for our recent visit and it was a decent meal overall. I got the drunken noodles and I liked the flavor of the meal and the texture of the vegetables, but the chicken was oddly soft and the texture was more akin to tofu. My wife got the red curry and she loved the flavor of it, but the texture of her chicken was also off and she didn't care for it either. Prices were very reasonable and we would come back here again, but would probably not get the chicken next time.

Yelp
Panang curry was sooooo yummy!! This is in the 3 story food hall with live music on da roof!! This place was quick and delicious. if you seek Thai in downtown Nashville...this did it

Yelp
Thai Esane is pretty good. Although my dish was too spicy for my liking, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal and even offered to finish mine as leftovers. The staff was really helpful in guiding us on vegan options to order.

Yelp
The food court here is incredibly large, but we always come back to the same place for their phenomenal food. This time we ordered pad Thai with chicken and pad see eww with chicken. Delicious!!

Yelp
Easy ordering process and fast service, but the food itself was very disappointing. Ordered tofu pad thai, and there was startlingly little tofu in it, especially for the price. What little tofu there was was cut too small and overcooked - hard and very chewy. Didn't realize that it was unpleasant tofu until after I'd already asked if I could have a little more and been declined. Won't order here again.

Yelp
I visited Thai Esane in Assembly Food Hall on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:30 am. The menu, of course, has only selected options from their main restaurant's menu which encompasses all the popular staple dishes like pad Thai, curries, drunken noodles, and fried rice. There are also fresh rolls, wings, and crab Rangoon available as starters. I had the Esane fried rice with chicken. Thai-style fried rice in general, tend to be more moist than Chinese fried rice. With that in mind, I thought the texture was correct, but the flavor was reminiscent of a Chinese take-out fried rice. Portion was small, as to be expected from Assembly Food Hall. Service was average. The lady who took the order had some attitude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. The food was prepared quickly, as it should since I was the only customer there at the time. If you want to try their full menu, I recommend going to the main restaurant instead.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on a weekend day as we were shopping through 5th & Broadway. The was a short line and the food was very good. We were able to find a seat nearby in this large food hall with several vendors. If you are looking for Thai food that will be ready fast during a busy day of shopping, then stop it and pick up some solidly good food!

Yelp
This place was insane in my membrane!! Great and quick service with a friendly smile in tow. The restaurant is a little lack luster in decor, but who cares when the food is delightfully delish! I am adding this place to my Nashville favorites!

Yelp
We had just average service in ordering and food delivery. The Malaysian Noodles were nothing special. It was great to be able to have so many dining options in the food hall so you could enjoy a meal with friends or family and everyone can order what they want. Probably wouldn't return since there are so many other options around at this food hall

Yelp
Quick and easily, and so delicious and flavorful! I walked around for 20 minutes deciding where to order I'm glad I made this decision!

Yelp
Honestly loved this place I went twice while I was in Nashville and it was really good! It is definitely food court Pad Thai but really enjoyed it!!
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
I have gotten the pad thai and it is pretty solid! The portion is a little small, but the flavor is good! I think it is on par with other thai food options in the city, so I would definitely order from here again!

Randee W.

Yelp
Needed lunch and headed to the Assembly for a quick bite. Had enough fried food recently and needed something good and good for me. This was probably the best pad Thai I ever had no lie !!!!

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the appearance of made to order food. The food taste like it is a frozen meal from a microwave. Very little flavor. The vegetables are the birds-eye frozen bagged variety. It is edible, but I would not recommend. I'd rate it below gas station Thai. Heads up: takes a while for it to be ready. Sit back and enjoy the live music!

Yelp
45 minute wait for 3 dishes. Pad see yew loaded with carrots and very few noodles. Waste of time and not very good at all.
google avatar

Jamaris B.

Yelp
I waited 30 minutes and did not receive a text that my order was complete. When I inquired about it, I was then sent a text that it was complete. The guy just made it right there. I ordered drunken noodle with double shrimp. There were pieces of chicken in it smh. There weren't enough noodles in it and the noodle wasn't thick like the usual drunken noodle I get. The crab Rangoon was mid. Would not recommend.

cindy ..

Yelp
So if you are looking for fast service don't eat here and if you are looking for a refund don't look here. I waited 20 minutes for my food and was told it was going to be about 10 minutes longer. I told them every one in my party is finished and I want a refund. I was told they didn't do refund so I was out of luck. Don't eat here. Plus they have no clue what they are doing.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place, but overall the food was inedible. I ordered red curry with chicken. Although the sauce had a good flavor, the chicken was disgusting. I expected that i would get chicken breast meat like every other Thai restaurant I've eaten at. Instead it was cut up slices of pressed chicken parts. I ate one piece of chicken and I couldn't stomach anymore. Very disappointing.

Norah G.

Yelp
I ordered pad thai with chicken and found it dry and flavorless. The chicken was spongy as well. The friend I was with thought it was fine though so this could be an issue of expectations.

Tiff T.

Yelp
The pad thai is super good. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. We tried to order crab Rangoon, but they said they were out and then a few minutes later they made more and brought us some to our table for free!

Adam H.

Yelp
I have celiac disease and the gluten free options were unbelievable! The food is extremely good! The people were so kind! The way the place looked brought me in and was great.

Clayton Y.

Yelp
The service n food was great. Love the panang curry with chicken and white rice . Crab Rangoons are the best here. Generous portions. Price point is great compared to other stalls I'd seen. And not even for nourishing food. A couple of ladies asked me for my recommendations n loved the two I mentioned above.

Bob W.

Yelp
Family was done eating before they completed my order. So slow!! 25 min wait for fast food.
