The 11 Best Vegetarian Restaurants In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Thanks to ingredients like fish sauce and dried shrimp, a lot of Thai food can be sneakily non-vegan. At Thai Fresh in South Austin, however, any dishes containing either are noted as such. Almost all of the noodles, stir-fries, and curries can be made with tempeh or tofu, and the ice cream and dessert menu is almost entirely vegan. Show up during happy hour and you can get 30% off bottles of wine." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion

The Casual Weeknight Dinner Guide - Austin - The Infatuation

"Thai Fresh is the restaurant you wish was within walking distance of your house—any night when you didn’t feel like cooking, you could just eat here instead. It's super laid-back, and the staff is remarkably friendly to everyone who walks in, regular or not. Besides the usual suspects like curries and pad thai, they also serve a few specialty dishes that you won’t find anywhere else in the city. So regardless of whether you’re looking for comfort food or want to try something new, Thai Fresh has you covered." - nicolai mccrary, matthew jacobs, max bonem

The 13 Best Thai Restaurants In Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Thanks to ingredients like fish sauce and dried shrimp, a lot of Thai food isn’t super vegetarian-friendly. But Thai Fresh does offer a very flexible menu that allows for a ton of substitutions. As a result, we find ourselves here often—sometimes when we’re trying to meet in the middle with friends with picky diets, but sometimes just for an order of excellent khao man gai (sorry vegans, no subs on that one). Start with some mushroom egg rolls, then get some pad thai with pork belly or tempeh. A meal here tends to fall on the lighter end, but you can certainly fix that by doubling up on desserts (which actually are mostly vegan)." - nicolai mccrary

Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Austin | Eater Austin

"This casual Thai restaurant in Bouldin Creek is generally a good go-to for special diets, including vegetarians. The noodles, curries, and rice dishes are all solid, and the golden tofu with turmeric is a standout. Sneaky non-vegetarian ingredients like fish sauce are noted on the menu. Though it’s a popular spot for online to-go orders, the chill dining room and small outdoor seating area are also great places to work or have a casual meal." - Erin Russell
