The 10 Best Thai Restaurants In Houston

"At the Galleria restaurant Thai Garden, expect to have a peaceful meal with a bowl of citrus-y tom kha kai and steaming drunken noodles laced with slivers of beef. In between bites, and with a few jazzy covers of top 40 hits in the background, take in the ornate decorations and make a mental note of how to carry the serenity home with you. Thai Garden is the place to be when you have a midday papaya salad craving, need a meal to instantaneously materialize as soon as you order, or are just in dire need of some snappy Thai sausage on a Thursday night." - chelsea thomas, gianni greene

Thai Garden Review - Galleria - Houston - The Infatuation

"When Thai Gourmet in the Galleria area closed unexpectedly after 27 years in business, fans of the restaurant were devastated. To fill the void (and literally the same building) Thai Garden opened up in its place. While there is some menu overlap, as can happen with most Thai restaurants, the restaurant is, supposedly, completely unrelated to Thai Gourmet, so take a break on those conspiracy theories and just have some dinner.  " - Chelsea Thomas

Where to Eat the Spiciest Dishes in Houston - Eater Houston

"Dining at this expansive restaurant is like a mini trip to Thailand, complete with souvenir shopping. Part of the friendly atmosphere is the server’s warning not to request more than medium heat. Even the typically sweet pad thai is likely to cause a runny nose here. A Thai custard will provide sweet relief to those who make it through the flames." - Alice Levitt

Google
We were missing the Thai gourmet restaurant, when we were searching for another Thai restaurant in Houston we found Thai garden located at the same place as Thai gourmet in google. We gave it a try and didn't get disappointed, the taste was completely awesome. The food was delicious from chicken satay, red curry, Pad Thai, chicken fried rice, roti canai everything was top notch. Fresh flavourful dishes!

Google
This Thai curry was so smooth and flavorful, it should come with its own passport. The rice? Fluffy perfection, like it knew exactly how to soak up all that goodness. 10/10 would trade my spice tolerance for this again.

Oh my wow! This place is beautiful and the food is absolutely fabulous! The staff is friendly! An amazing place to eat and take a break from the big city chaos. The Basil fried rice is beautiful and delicious! I wish I had some place like this back home!

So I’ll start off with saying that I was a frequent visitor of Thai Gourmet, the previous restaurant that occupied this space, and was hoping to have the same exact flavors and tastes as the old restaurant I loved so much. Although the flavors were not near the same, the highlight of my experience was the great service. Granted, we came when it was very empty, but I was happy that there was good service for a recently opened restaurant. They did not change much, if anything, of the old restaurant. Even the menu looks similar. Now, the important part, the food is not the same based on what we ordered. Chicken satay tasted the same as it used to be and was good. The skinny cheese rolls that we used to order are now typical egg roll like rolls with cheese and veggies, and sadly, disappointing. The coconut soup was always my favorite dish. it came in a much larger portion here (enough to feed three people) but the flavor was too sweet and tasted like a can of coconut milk. Needed more of the sour taste that comes with the regularly sweet/sour taste I’m used to. Maybe more fish sauce. Maybe more chicken broth. Maybe more lime juice. I’m not really sure but it just didn’t taste the same. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The pad Thai was way too sweet, tasted like straight peanut sauce on the noodles. I did not like it at all and it’s usually my go-to order. The drunken noodles: I used to receive it with Chinese broccoli, but thai garden served it with regular broccoli. Not a big deal because I asked the server and he said I could request it changed next time. It was not bad, and similar to the taste of Thai gourmet’s version, but felt like the protein was accompanied by a small amount of noodles instead of it being a noodle dish. The chicken fried rice was ordered to go and was very bland, another disappointment. All in all it wasn’t a horrible experience. I do wish the food was exactly the same as Thai Gourmet, but that was very hopeful thinking with a new restaurant and new ownership coming in. If they can get the same tastes back to these staple dishes, I’d come back, but otherwise it just wasn’t enough for me to enjoy when comparing to the previous restaurant’s food.

Google
Great Thai restaurant. Food: The flavors were developed and spicing level was enjoyable. The lunch spring roll was a little too oily. Service: The waiters were excellent and very attentive. Atmosphere: Clean restaurant area and bathroom. Very fun and invited vibe. Parking: Ample parking. I came over the lunch hour so it wasn’t full in the parking lot.

I went to pick up my order of pad thai entrees, fried tofu and soft spring rolls. While I waited I ordered a lychee martini cocktail which was excellent and the service was good. It was interesting that there were no people in the restaurant. When I returned home and opened my orders, the stench of staleness and something not fresh hit me immediately. The spring rolls were old and even a mold on the cucumber could be detected. The Tofu had no flavor. The shrimp pad Thai was the worst I had ever experienced. The shrimp tasted as though it had sat in the refrigerator for several days. Not fresh at all. I could only take a couple of bites before I had to throw it in the trash. The smell tasted as though it had sat for some time. Worst experience ever. The service was very friendly but the food on this occasion was awful.

I used to be a frequent visitor of the previous Thai Gourmet restaurant that used to be at the same location. I have since moved away from Houston, but was devastated hearing that this place had closed down. I was a little skeptical when my parents told me a new Thai place has reopened in the same spot, but was willing to give it a try. Started with an order of the spicy cheese rolls, which were very familiar but seemed to be lacking the spice I remember. Also got an order of the fried okra, crab fried rice, and cashew chicken. Went with medium heat on everything, but it seems a little more mild than I remember? Maybe that’s my own taste being different. Regardless, I am so happy a comparable Thai restaurant has opened up. While it’s not the exact same, there are many similarities to the original Thai Gourmet. They obviously set a high bar and Thai Garden has its work cut out for them. I’ll be back!

One of the most pleasantly surprising places to eat in the Galleria. The owners, manager and the servers customer service was wonderful. There is plenty of parking, and the grand entry is welcoming. There are a few elegant function rooms, and spaces convenient for dancing and live music. While I was there, folk dancers and a singer were there for entertainment and it was amazing. I had only appetizers that were presented beautifully, and they had authentic flavor! I would definitely visit again to try entrées. The menu is quite affordable. Thank you, Thai Garden, for the traditional experience! You are a great representative of your country and I hope you do well! Happy one year anniversary! Enjoy!

Yelp
Authentic and Flavourful! So many great things to say about this restaurant: their service, decor, and especially the food. Their fried rice was cooked perfectly and the flavour was dense and complex. 9/10 The pad thai was on the sweeter side with peanuts and cooked nicely but could've used some more vegetables maybe? 8/10 Desert was epic. Their mango fried was sweet, salty and warm and the mango just melts in your mouth. 10/10 Coconut ice cream was also amazing if you like a tropical but smooth taste! Watch the spice levels it can get pretty hot. I can handle plenty of spice but level 4 had me a little teary eyed. Overall a great experience and exactly what you would expect when craving some spicy complex thai food.

The Thumbs Critic ..

Yelp
Thumbs Up: The restaurant and property are beautifully decorated with lavish, traditional furniture and art. Many of the decorations are so stunning they could easily be donated to a museum. Thumbs Up: I remember dining here when it was called Thai Gourmet, and I'm glad to see that the quality of food has remained excellent. Thumbs Down: Unfortunately, we noticed that some of our favorite appetizers were missing from the menu after the restaurant rebranded. Neutral: I didn't come with friends who can handle "Thai Hot" food, so I'm not sure if that level of spiciness is still available. Thumbs Up: The service was just as attentive as ever. Neutral: The restaurant is quite far from Downtown and can be a trek from the Galleria, so it's best visited if you're already in the area.

Yelp
The end of an error. I've been going Thai gourmet for about 20 years. Back when Kru pong and Toon owned the place. Sadly, they had to sell it. The new owners took over and it became Thai garden. Thai garden was the closest thing we had to Thai gourmet. I used to call it Thai gourmet 2.0 because it was so close. They had the famous spicy cheese rolls, all the amazing dishes. It was 99% the same. For some reason, they decided to get rid of the cook. They have a new cook now and the food is completely different. Nothing is the same. The end of an error. If management is listening, they should really go back and get the old cook They used to have because they will not last. They were already struggling and slow even when they had the best cook that taste just like Thai gourmet. I'm telling you right now management if you're reading this get the old cook that you used to have. You guys were serving up some amazing food. Why did you get a new cook, why did you change the recipe for the cheese rolls, why does the pad Thai taste different. Everything is different. Nothing is the same. I'm not sure if it's the owners changed hands again or what but yesterday was the last time I will ever go back to this restaurant. Sad to say, but the taste of the old thai gourmet may seem to be gone forever

Yelp
Thai Gourmet was one of my first loves when it came to Thai food. It was one of Houston's most reviewed restaurants and the place was always a madhouse with long waits even though it was quite a large space. Then they suddenly closed a few years back. After that sudden loss, I explored other popular Thai spots in and around Houston and found quality food to satisfy my cravings. Early last year, I heard there was going to be a comeback of Thai Gourmet with new ownership, but with a new name, old menu and alot of their old staff. I was hesitant and gave this place some time before coming back recently. We came on a Sunday for lunch and I thought I had misread the hours of operation. There was only a few cars out front, but then I saw someone walk in and the open sign was on. I was there so I decided to go in. The place looks the same. Beautiful interior with alot of greenery out front. Sadly, when I came in, there was absolutely no one dining in at the time. Only towards the end of our meal did they seat another solo diner. It did seem like they had a steady stream of to go orders. Customer service was great considering I was their sole customer. The real test came with the food. I started off with a Thai tea. It came out almost immediately after ordering it. I never know the process of making this drink, but it seemed like it was premade. It had a thick and grainy consistency that I never had with any teas I've had in the past. The flavor was there though. For my entrée I went with Pad See Ew. It's one of my go to dishes along with drunken noodles and whatever curry I am in the mood for. I got the combination that came with chicken, beef and shrimp and ordered it spicy which is their level right below the hottest. You have a choice of Chinese broccoli or American broccoli as they called it. I went with Chinese. The food came out and it looked nice. Temp was on point as it was steaming. First bite of noodles I was brought back to the good ole days. As I got into the dish more I got bites that weren't as flavorful as the last. I had to give it a good stir. There was plenty of protein, but they were overcooked and lacked any seasoning at all. If they got the seasoning and sauces incorporated through the whole dish, it would be a great dish. Overall, I didn't get that satisfaction I did like back in the day. I don't see myself rushing back here anytime soon, but might give them another try in the future.

Yelp
Currently dinning in at Thai Garden while being a loyal customer of Thai Gourmet since trying it first in 2017. I am completely disappointed and unsatisfied with the Thai Fried Rice, it is absolutely horrible now and nothing like before i couldn't even finish it. I have no idea what went wrong since the last time i came, mindful that was 5months ago at most. Service is the same as it used to be no complaints there. Ambience is also like it used to be so those atleast stayed the same. Hopefully i can get a feedback to know when the rice will taste like before.

Yelp
This review is unlike any I have ever done since it is one more of emotion, bc this wonderful establishment just closed its doors after two years of being open. I am truly going to miss Thai Garden and even the parking lot before walking in the place itself, food presentation and overall flavors of the food brought back awesome Thai Gourmet memories more than any Thai restaurant around. Many Thai cafes have typical styles of Thai food almost mirroring one another. However, both TG I mentioned had authenticity and their own unique touch without tampering recipes if that makes sense. I wish the owners and staff very well on their ventures for being such great people whom truly cared about their customers. Even with the new chef they got in recent months, a few dishes changed some, but were still full of potential as one could tell by their basic prep, sauce texture, noticeable ingredients in entrees and balance of taste profiles too. They were still better than so many of these fake, Americanized and pretending to be authentic at the same time "modern" Thai restaurants all over the city. This place never over-did anything on the extra cream, excess sweetness and so many bagged green beans with their curries like other mediocre to just decent Thai places either. Many of the dishes were 80-90% like Thai Gourmet depending, which was a winner for the true Thai Gourmet fans like myself to name one of many. As for environmental vibe, this spot wasn't too small, too fancy, too casual like fast food or overdone in trendiness. It was cozy, authentic in nature in its own way like the food, great lighting, artistically designed in a calmer fashion, traditional and welcoming all in one. People sometimes way too often prefer crappy places while pretending to know good food. I have read several of those crappy ideas on several negative reviews this place sometimes had in the past. Anyway, Thai Garden will be missed and best of luck to the owners and staff once again. Thank you so much for the borderline Thai Gourmet experiences when they sadly closed, bc even 2 more years brought back was better than nothing.

Yelp
The restaurant Thai Garden looks very pristine. As soon as I walked in I noticed from the decor to the flooring center pieces, plating everything looked on point. The restaurant has a ton of space and wasn't too busy the evening we went so we were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the shrimp pad see ew. The meal came out pretty fast and was hot. The food itself tasted okay, with jumbo pieces of shrimp. I also had the lychee martini suggested by our waiter. It was pretty strong and didn't exactly pair the best with my meal. But I did appreciate the subtle sweetest/tart flavor of the lychee.

Yelp
Service was awesome and I had the best tasting tom yum soup ever in my whole Thai loving experience! Why you ask? The chef is not stingy with the kaffir lime leaves and those make it next level amazing. Ambiance is ethnic with the biggest dining area out of any Thai restaurant I have been to.

Yelp
The food here has changed tremendously! It used to be good. The beef and chicken was dry and chewy. Had to put it off to the side it was like jerky. The sauce was ok. Egg roll came out hot at least.

Yelp
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I was a huge Thai Gourmet fan. They have not lost a step with the change. If you want Thai in Houston, this is your place.

Diana N.

Yelp
I would give no stars if I could. Directed towards "Manager" Amy for 0/5 Customer Service Correction. Not sure how she got promoted to there in the first place. It was my first time there with a family of 4 and never will WE return. It's never about the price for me, it is the service and this Thai restaurant failed me.

Yelp

Yelp
We have been a regular at Thai Gourmet and now that this has opened, we do try going there as well. Some of the servers from Gourmet are still working there and know us by name ! Service is great always. Everything served is fresh. But everything tastes the same. We ordered basil fried rice, drunken noodles, eggplant chicken basil and Thai basil chicken. Literally everything looked & tasted same. Fried rice didn't taste good. Lately the consistency is an issue. Not sure if the chef has changed. They add too much veggies and you can barely see meat. We do Expect better from them. Ambiance is good and have added lot of synthetic flowers around.

Yelp
KATY, TX 77507 / THAI / 05-07-23 / LUNCH +The customer service was excellent. +The pad thai was pretty good; a little on the sweet side, but very close to what you can find in . +The Tom Yum Goong was one of the best I ever had; a very well balance of sweet, spicy, and tang. +They have dry chili powder and Thai chilies in fish sauce as condiments, which were pretty good. -A lot of our utensils and plating were not washed well; lots of gunk stuck on some of the pieces. -The restaurant could use some deep cleaning, get rid some of the dust bunnies.

Yelp
Food is horrible. Is nothing like Thai Gourmet who was once in this location. We decided to eat herself based on previous Thai Gourmet was here. Server said it was many of the same dishes. It is not and I suggest to anyone, stay away if you appreciate good food.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know exactly why I didn't order anything else after Papaya Salad...something was lil off...it wasn't bad but it wasn't good either so I decided not to order anything else.... I wouldn't recommend but everyone different, my fav Thai place might be your least fav and vice versa‍

Yelp
Great thai restaurant!! It was very spacious and nicely decorated! The red curry was very flavorful and I picked the mild spicy level. I just wish the curry was a bit more thick and creamy. The green forest drink was very fresh and a good citrus flavor. The service was nice and welcoming. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
We loved Thai Gourmet, so we decided to try this place out thinking that the food might be the same. Per the waiting staff, Thai Garden has changed management from Thai Gourmet and the food is different. We went on 12/26/22 during their soft opening period. The menu seemed limited and appeared to be different from the original Thai Gourmet menu. We noticed were that there was no "tofu" option as an available vegetarian option on any of their dishes. We had to ask if we could add tofu and they were able to. We ordered our usual Thai Gourmet dishes: drunken noodles and panang curry. The presentation and overall look of the dishes was exactly the same. The food tasted 80% similar to Thai Gourmet. But the panang curry was more watered down and drunken noodles/tofus was more bland than usual. I'm really curious about the behind the scenes story about the new Thai Garden restaurant. Would return if I hear that the food has gotten better but the soft opening food was just not as good.

Yelp
I missed the old Thai gourmet so was so excited when I saw Thai garden opened at its old location! Great food! Just the right amount of spice and amazing environment!

Yelp
We started with the veggie dumplings, which were served with a ginger soy sauce and delicious. We also tried the soft spring rolls which were pretty good. For mains, we got the pad Thai and the drunken noodles. The pad Thai was medium spice, and it had a kick! It was my favorite of the night. Service was good. They had a live band playing which was nice but a bit loud. Plenty of parking in the lot behind the restaurant.

Yelp
Decided to try this ace as we were craving for Thai food. Ordered drunken noodles, pad thai and yellow curry with chicken. Drunken noodles and curry for super delicious. Loved the spice level too. Pad thai was okay. Service was quick. Ambience is okay. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
I recently been to Thailand this year. And this is by far the best Thai food I had in Houston. I don't know who created crab fried rice but it's a must have.

Kim F.

Yelp
We love the Van Lang band night. I love the Veggie & Veggie, and my husband loves the Chicken Sutay. The service is always great.
google avatar

Louie W.

Yelp
Ordered their yellow curry, came with rice and a side salad with one spring roll.Portion size is good and worth the price, I didn't expect to get such a full box of rice before I received it. The yellow curry is decent, sweet and has a balanced coconut and curry flavor. To be honest, besides the chicken is way too dry and rubbery, the curry is better than most of the Thai restaurants in Houston...Definitely a satisfying meal. I'll order again.

Yvonne W.

Yelp
The restaurant is way overpriced especially for the portion sizes. The veggie rolls and chicken spring rolls had no flavor. The Royal Seafood was extremely disappointing. The scallops and calamari were fishy and the dish had zero taste. The pad Thai was just ok. The best item was the Panang Curry. The restaurant was more than half empty on a Saturday night. I can certainly understand as it's not a restaurant I need to return to. Dinner for 4 was easily 1/3 more than it should have been and the kitchen was extremely slow.
google avatar

Katie Y.

Yelp
I have been a customer for years, dating back to the Gourmet days. Last week I ordered red curry chicken to go - brought it back to the office and discovered the chicken wasn't cooked. I called in to let them know, hoping this didn't happen to anyone else. They didn't seem to concerned and asked me to bring it back. I didn't because I didn't have time, but I sent them pictures by email and never got a response. I emailed them twice. Not a word from them. This is enough for me to never come back, sadly. I can forgive a lot, but this is gross and no acknowledgement of fault is inexcusable.
google avatar

Zaran E.

Yelp
So far since I've entered it hasn't been a great experience it seems like the owners are just being cheap making the waiters and bus boys jobs combined and also there is only two staff members not counting anyone in the kitchen running the entire restaurant . So the service was not great by the waiters but I can't blame them they are just poorly staffed and poorly trained . Their sodas are all flat and taste really bad , switched out the sprite for a Coke and the coke was worse. I came here alone ordered one lunch special and it took sooo long to come out and they were not even busy. I even witnessed customers getting fustrated and getting up and grabbing their own drinks . Because the waiters are too slow and busy with all the customers. It's 11$ for 4 small cheese rolls is kinda steep. The lunch special is 15$ and they didn't have the soup that comes with it they said they are out lol and it's 1pm so I didn't get anything and they still charged it full price
google avatar

Terrence C.

Yelp
I have eaten here multiple times and each time has been great. I came before they got busy so the service was exceptional. Very attentive and quick. The food was wonderful. I had the Pad Thai and added Shrimp and mushrooms. It was delicious. They charged $2 for maybe 3 mushrooms that were quartered. That was a little disappointing and I will not be adding mushrooms again at that price. The restaurant is huge and can hold a bunch of people. It would be crazy to see this place full. The spice level was spot on, hot but not hot for hot sake. I will be back.
google avatar

Gia T.

Yelp
Used to love Thai Gourmet, so we decided to give Thai Garden a try with hope that it will be as great. The serving of Roti was ridiculously small and the sauce was just very oily peanut butter, not worth the price, same goes for chicken satay. The yellow curry was good, but majority of it was just the curry sauce and barely any chicken or veggies. Beef with basil was salty, they flattened it out over a large plate to make it look bigger and again, barely any meat. Pad Thai noodles were okay, but the portion was also so small. Prices are way too high given the small serving sizes. it is understandable to increase the prices due to inflation, but the portions here are just not worth the price. Our waiter didn't come by our table again once the order was placed, likely because gratuity was already included with our party of 5. There are many great Thai Restaurants in Houston and surrounding areas with better food, great prices, and reasonable portions. Sorry to give this kind of review, but we won't be coming back to Thai Garden.

Jaala T.

Yelp
The food was great! love their Crab fried rice! their thai wings were also good! service was well didn't get my server name. The ambiance is beautiful. this is like a high scale thai restaurant 10/10 would definitely recommend!
google avatar

Staci H.

Yelp
This place use to be so good but it went to shits. The service was horrible, the food was even worse, and the water tasted weird. Ambiance is dark and gloomy. It was really dead inside during lunch time on a weekend so that tells you a lot. The food was over priced and not worth it. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Won't last long at all.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
This is now my new favorite Thai place. They're very traditional and the servers are super sweet! They have spices that actually have flavor in it, and give amazing recommendations. I absolutely loved the food and how mini flags come with every dish. I also really suggest the Thai Tea as it has been the best one I've ever tried!! 10/10 would definitely recommend!!! :)
google avatar

Nis N.

Yelp
Came back here again today because I'm craving some Thai Tea and boy oh boy that hit the spot! The best Thai tea I've had so far. Lad Na shrimps was amazing! You'll see me back here again soon! Thank you so much for such a great service by the staffs. Everyone here is so helpful and welcoming me with a smile I had a nice conversation with the owner and she stated that the staffs including the kitchen crew are the same since previous owner. So I don't understand why people would be saying that food doesn't taste the same?? Just because of the name changed makes people think that the food tastes different?? Doesn't make sense at all whatsoever. See you guys again soon!

Ron B.

Yelp
I ordered 2 dishes to go - both published here as $15.95/ea ... came to pick up- and was charged $18.95 ea - that's total $6 more than the prices shown in this app and their menu! That is to go. That is just wrong.

Yelp
I enjoy having lunch/dinner at Thai Garden very often, but this time was extremely dissatisfying. We ordered Pad Thai as usual in a dinner portion, which comes in a large rectangular shaped dish, but instead, it came in a square plate, which is a lunch portion plate(I don't have a picture.) I asked the server if this is a dinner portion, and he confirmed that it is. The server checked again and realized it was a lunch portion that he brought out. Then he brought it back to the kitchen and came out in less than 5 minute saying, "pad thai dinner portion." AS YOU CAN SEE in both pictures(the right one with 3 dishes is the correct amount of pad thai supposed to be served), this is not the dinner portion! They just dumped it in a larger plate the same portion he brought out in the first place and it really looked like a leftover NGL. I sent it back and spoke to someone else who usually serves my table(maybe the manager) and he admitted that it is a lunch portion and said he'll have them remake. When the server brought us the NEW Pad Thai, I immediately realized it wasn't a new dish. It just had more bean sprouts on top of whatever they brought out before because the noodle inside was COLD. I REGRET REGRET REGRET for not canceling the pad thai at this moment. My friend and I didn't finish all the dishes we ordered because we all lost our appetite after all these drama with Pad Thai. We paid for everything, which we don't mind, and I don't want to be someone who orders and complains and does not pay for food. We'll give them another try since I have good memories with this restaurant and used to come here before they even reopened for years and years, and I still enjoy their food. Don't get me wrong, I love this place and still think it's the best Thai place in town. BUT!!! if this happens again at any time, Thai Garden will be out of my list for the rest of my life.

Yelp
My friend and I were diehard fans of Thai Gourmet, we were highly upset when they closed down. I believe he was actually heartbroken, we had both been trying out various places in Houston but were unsuccessful with finding anyone comparable to Thai Gourmet. They set the bar for excellent Thai food and any time I checked out a place, my friend would ask me how it ranked in comparison with Thai Gourmet. Our office was previously located on San Felipe so it was an easy drive and we'd go to Thai Gourmet often. Our office is now in downtown Houston but soon as we heard someone opened up in the old Thai Gourmet spot, we had to check it out. Yesterday he and I decided to give Thai Garden a shot, with the expectation that it probably would be not the same as its predecessor. Decor didn't change up much from what Thai Gourmet previously had and we did enjoy the food. I had Prad Kra Pow and he had the combination fried rice. The flavors and spice level were very much on point. My friend was so pleased that he left there with a smile on his face and that says quite a bit. I did recognize one staff member on the floor who was around during the time it was Thai Gourmet, so that was cool to see. From my point of view, the new owners are doing a great job and we will definitely return.

Yelp
I ordered the crab pad thai and crab fried rice. The rice was just white rice with a little onion and 4 small pieces of crab. The pad thai had zero crab! What a ripoff!

Yelp
I would call this place average at the most. We wear a regular at the Thai gourmet restaurant, which was located at the same location before Thai Garden opened. My expectations were not tempered well for this experience at Thai Garden because the predecessor served some really good Thai food. I felt the food at Thai Garden was watered down lacking flavor. The menu is very similar to how it was before. The staff is polite, and the service was good too. The ambience is just the same as it was before which in my opinion is great. I wish their food tasted as it was before.

Yelp
The food and ambiance are very good, but service leaves a lot to be desired. Trying to get a drink? Get up from the table and take yourself to the bar.

Yelp
As a longstanding customer of Thai Gourmet, I was super sad when it closed, it had me driving from Jersey Village at least once a month. I was super excited to recently learn Thai Garden opened late last year and the food was allegedly the same. Decided to finally check them out, I was happy to see the dumplings back on the menu, but was disappointed to see they have shrunk in size, and they sort of dry. The crisp veggie rolls were also just ok, they didn't taste fresh. Pad Thai tasted about the same. They most disappointing was the fried rice, it lacked seasoning and was so bland, I had to add some Maggi seasoning sauce when I got home. I should have known when I called on a Saturday night and was told my food would be ready in 15 minutes, usually I'd be told 30-45 minutes on a Saturday night during dinner. I may return in the near future, but if the quality remains below my expectations, it won't be worth my drive from the NW side.

Yelp
Was not crowded at all and lunch portion was very generous. The yellow curry with chicken was delicious as ever.

Yelp
This place lost its touch since it's been reopened. The food was not authentic at all. The service was ok, but they don't really know alot about real thai food. The ambience is nice and romantic but thats the only upside in my opinion. Not returning very disappointed because it used to be delicious when it was called "thai gourmet" sadly.

Yelp
I feel like most of the dishes still taste the same as Thai Gourmet prior and 90% of the staff is the same. There are some slight differences but I'm glad the taste is still great. Our staples of the pad thai and the crab fried rice don't disappoint and if anything tastes even better given the hiatus.

Yelp
Had a very bad experience food was so bad their portions have also shrunk chicken had a smell. Was very embarrassed as my guests did not enjoy the food and was complaining about smell service was even worse. It seems the owners have changed. Would never go there again.

Yelp
I usually do not write reviews, but this place gave me food poisoning and I ended up going to the hospital at 2am after eating here. Please eat with caution.
