This is a great Thai restaurant with a nice interior and friendly service. We came in on Saturday evening and we were seated immediately. First, The atmosphere is pleasant. We were seated at a booth, which featured plenty of room, which was spacious and comfortable. The decor and lighting is nice, although the music was too loud for my taste, and there were periods where the music would cut off and it was totally silent which creates an awkward drop that makes conversation difficult. Second, the food was very great. They have options ranging from non spicy to very spicy, So everyone can find something to suit their taste. The dumplings were a little bit dry, but I've had dumplings from this restaurant before that weren't, so I think it was just this time. Overall, this is a great option for Thai food. I don't consider this restaurant highly authentic, as the food is Americanized, but it tastes great and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in this part of Kansas City looking for Asian cuisine.

The food is so good. Don't really like the pho. I got an order of crab Rangoon, the pho combo with beef, chicken and shrimp, the pad Thai, the gaprow with pork instead of the sweet beef, spicy wings and house fried rice to go. The presentation 💝🎁 was so beautiful and very delicious. Which they gave sauces for my rice and pad Thai. The sauce for the wings is to die for n

I am typing this at I eat my yellow curry fried rice. This was the worst meal I’ve gotten from them. The rice was dry and clumpy. The chicken was super dry too. Hesitant about going back to be honest. U

I used to love their pad thai but today I just couldn’t stand not leaving a review. The pad thai I ordered is completely flavorless, I really disappointed. Since I read some other reviews this place seems going downhill sadly.

This is a good dining place with quality food. I had ordered chicken skewers which was really tasty and side peanut sauce. Next i had the glass noodles which was so much that two of us were more than full. There were a lot of veggies and wholesome meal. There is free parking all around the restro.

Me and Besties had a girl's night 🌉. We were seated quickly which was great because I was hungry lol, the waitress was very nice and took our orders right away. I got the Thai house sampler for an appetizer, and I got the Basil fried rice shrimp added to it and got it Hot. When I say the proportion size was big it was really big which was great and the Basil fried rice was hot but had a really great tasting flavor, it was delicious and they offered plenty of different sauces to try with your food. Overall I love the food and atmosphere and service I would definitely come back again to hear some more live music 🎶.

Google
Nothing but praises to Thai house easily my favorite Thai restaurant everything is just so good. I totally recommend to everyone. It’s not only delicious but affordable too. As someone who’s worked the food industry I understand how not everything is out super fast all the time but as long as they aren’t too busy they will pump out your rooms fairly quick but honestly the taste is worth the wait if needed. Also if someone could tell me how they make their fried rice that would be great

Google
We have loved Thai house for years and have brought gas before. Went there last week and our experience completely changed! It is no longer the Thai house We remember I think it’s changed hands. I’m not sure it’s even Thai at all. The crab Rangoon’s were not the same, my husband Drunken Noodles were OK. I had Pad Thai and it was not even near any Pad Thai I’ve ever had. There was absolutely no peanut flavor in it at all and so bland. Took a few bits and threw it away. Totally disappointed. We will not be back

Yelp
I got the spring rolls and they were good. Nothing special but not bad. I like that they included the peanuts dipping sauce. I had masaman (sp). The chicken was kind of shredded which was nice and I thought it was of solid quality. The sauce was VERY peanuty but leveled out well as the dish was consumed lol. The door was locked when we showed up lol and had to call to be let in to pick up our food. We'll be back

Yelp
I get takeout from here about once a month and always order the same thing: Lunch portion of Yellow Curry with Chicken and white rice. This has always come with a crab Rangoon. I have a pretty low spice tolerance and this is just the right amount of spice. I've been getting the same order for about a year and usually love it but today there was a layer of oil in the curry. The taste was okay but the oil does not look appetizing. I will give it another shot because of how much I've enjoyed it in the past but if the oil issue comes up again, I won't be back. Decor is casual and a bit dated but I see that as part of the charm. Nice hole-in-the-wall spot that usually delivers!

Yelp
I do not often get Thai but when I do, I know I can always rely on Thai House! I still consider myself new to the area and was recommended to give Thai House a shot and I was not disappointed one bit. My wife really likes the pad see ew while I usually go between the pad thai and pad kee mow. We like it spicy but know better to get it thai spicy. Medium and hot are really great, especially on a hot summer day. We enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant. I think they have a playlist of someone singing live which we thought was an actual in-house musician, either way it really makes it seem nice and peaceful in there. The service is always great too, they are always kind, check to see if we are enjoying the food or need anything often enough. We actually have plans to bring someone here to experience Thai food for the first time later this month and I am sure they will enjoy it. Also, if you go here, ordering a Thai tea (I prefer with boba) is a must, even if it is to go!!

Yelp
Stopped for a long overdue visit to Thai House. It's a little outside my stomping grounds, but now that I've given it a try, I'll be tempted to make the trek. I judge every Thai restaurant by their Yellow Curry. It's my go to, and I've tried many. I know a Thai place is good when their Yellow Curry is more savory than sweet, and this one passed that test. The portion size to price was also better than average. I ate about half of the dish and have some leftovers that will make a good lunch. The vibe of this place is unique - it was like stepping back in time to your Aunt's living room in the 80s. And there was even a live DJ playing oldies and singing along. There were quite a few people there for dinner, so the place felt lively. The service was okay - I felt like we went a little too long between server stops, but it was reasonable. All in all, one of the best tasting and best value Thai places in the area!

Yelp
You have to watch them. I ordered some food. They had the drink sitting for 20 minutes. I came back in 15 minutes. I asked that you make the drink after you make the food. Who wants a watered down drink. The lady who spoke little English with strong accent began to argue pretty with nasty attitude. The food took over 25 minutes for a drunken noodle with beef. It was not crowded. Take out. A man who was nice came up to me and asked why it was taking so long. He went in the back to ask a little missy began yelling. The man was nice. Tell missy- pretty doesn't mean you can be nasty. After 15 minutes they came out and said the just started the order I would have had to wait 40 minutes for the order. Make sure you open and look at the food when carry out.

Yelp
This restaurant was pleasant and the service was friendly but food was really just average. The high point was probably the orange chicken appetizer. The calamari was just okay without a tremendous amount of flavor. Pineapple baked rice was unspectacular. Ambiance was pleasant but maybe a bit dated. Overall it was an okay experience, but not one that I'll be returning to often.

Yelp
I haven't been here in many years and the ownership has changed over. Not entirely sure what to make of it. They make an excellent papaya salad and there were large servings of the decent pad see ew and pad thai that we ordered. Interesting semi-somber ambience with a kindly gentleman playing muzak versions of the Beatles. I wouldn't classify this as the best Thai in KC, but it would definitely scratch your itch if you're within a ten minute drive.

Yelp
Ordered pick up and was ready in just about 10 minutes from time of me making my call. Got pad thai, crab rangoon, and egg rolls. Pas Thai was good, generous portion, ordered extra beef and feel like I didn't get 'extra' truly. The spices used felt a bit different than Pad Thai I've had in the past, felt like this one had a noticeable hint of cinnamon and some Indian food influences. Not sure if that is normal for pad thai or is something this place is known for, but it was tasty all the same. One complaint was that it was not spicy, I got medium spice, more often than not medium spice at other Thai spots there's a good amount of heat, this didn't really have anything. Crab Rangoon and egg rolls were standard fare, thought they tasted good, Will definitely order from here again when needing quick and easy pick up for some tasty Thai food.

R G.

Yelp
Ordered wine - they didn't know what anything was. The ladies came back from the bathroom disgusted after shoes were sticking to the floor and allegedly saw dead bugs or something of the sort in a bucket so we left without ordering. Although some might enjoy this place, I wouldn't recommend it for health and safety reasons.

Yelp
There are a few unique reasons to go to this place but also a few drawbacks. I came to this place with 5 other friends (party of 6) and we all got an appetizer/ meal. The food was okay, none of us were super impressed. The pho was spicy and nobody was able to finish theirs because of the large portion. The best item was the thai coffee which was amazing for $4.50!!! it came with cream on top and was beautiful! also just so tasty. The wings were extremely underwhelming and did not have any flavor. they are advertised as spicy but are not and the sauce isn't either. The best part about this place is the man who plays songs with his piano. We recommend him a song and he played it flawlessly!!!! I would come back just for this man! Lastly, i will note, they do add an upcharge for large parties. I guess 6 is a large party? Not sure how this usually works with other restaurants but they charged each of our bills 18% extra. Again, not sure how other places do this so i'm not gonna comment too much on it. It's just something to keep in mind!

Yelp
There was a bug found in my yellow curry. I ordered from door dash and my crab ragoon was not in my order. I called Thai house twice and they said there was nothing they could do about it. The bag the order came in was completely sealed so I don't think the dasher took anything. Will not be ordering again.

Yelp
Enough is enough. I've frequented this restaurant since early 2012, and have been so bummed to see the quality of both the food and service deteriorate over the last couple years. And it's NOT new news. This is an updated review after years of giving them the benefit of the doubt. Management is completely unwilling to take responsibility for food made wrong on take-out orders and demand that their customers drive back with their uneaten food to be offered any sort of compensation. 8/10 times, they've been getting our takeout orders just WRONG. Spice added to "no spice" fried rice. Pho being served with tough as jerky meat and salty-as-the-sea broth. Pad thai overcooked and mushy like it had been cooked and recooked. After nearly 3 consecutive times of just brushing it off and tossing the food out, I FINALLY had had enough and called them to see if they could make it right. And...NOTHING. They wanted me to repackage all the food and drive it the whole 15min drive back to get any sort of recompense. It's a waste of money and time. Enough is enough.

Yelp
Me & my friends came for a girls night out & we were really craving Thai food. We were immediately seated when we arrived as there were not busy. This place was very spacious and can fit large parties. The waiters were super nice and refilled our water every time they saw it low. The only problems that we had were dirty plates and silverware. Other than that it was a pretty pleasant experience as the food was really good and really hot. We will probably give it another shot.

Yelp
Ate in great service and safe food was perfect spring rolls the sauces the pho chicken yummy yum yum r ree massaman nice and peanut flavor great portions great prices

Yelp
All their curries are amazing. Service is always kind and courteous. Very affordable prices.

Yelp
I ate Thai house the last 2 nights and I think the quality is going downhill. My papaya salad was super watery, my drunken noodles and all the veggies in it were overcooked. Last night I had the Penang curry with tofu which was all sauce and tofu with 2 slices of peppers... no other veggies. It just seems like the people in the kitchen don't care about the food any more.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
Beef pho and spring rolls. Both not great. Beef was tough and broth was a bit off. Felt rushed. Spring rolls just lettuce and some odd soy soaked veggies. Would not buy again.
google avatar

Jenni S.

Yelp
I ordered DoorDash from Thai House because I'm home sick & always want Thai when I'm sick. The food was okay but it wasn't great. I usually order from one of a couple other restaurants but decided to try them out today because they were cheaper. I got panang curry because that's my Thai go to. It was okay. The flavor was nice but the sauce was much thicker than most places, which meant my rice didn't really soak it up. The tofu wasn't cooked very well either, but there were lots of big chunks. While most places fill the container to the top, this was only filled about 3/4 of the way.
google avatar

Laura K.

Yelp
Reliable, excellent and comfortable. We tried so many dishes can't single them out - everything is excellent - appreciate the mild plus option for sharing. Gaprow, house fried rice, any noodle dish, spring rolls, crab Rangoon, basil stir fry, all great for sharing. Quick service. Big space.
google avatar

Yelp
Do NOT order takeout from here. Was told 20 minute pickup and am still waiting and it's been over an hour. Save your time and money.
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Solidly delicious Thai food at reasonable prices. I'd love to try other items on the menu but their Pad Thai is so dang good I can't help but order it every time. The environment is pleasant and the location is convenient right off 435. Service is attentive and friendly. They had a Maitai Drink special for $6 which was a fun addition to our dinner. My husband loves their green curry. They are great for takeout as well!
google avatar

Pamely S.

Yelp
Ordered from Postmate and picked it up myself. Food was ok. Crab Rangoon barely had any filling inside. I ordered papaya salad Lao style but I got the Thai style instead. Ordered pad Thai (Thai hot) could not taste the flavor. The pad see ew was okay. Tasted bland, did not have a charred taste like it suppose to.
google avatar

Mariah R.

Yelp
We've ordered take out from here twice and it's been amazing both times. We got the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew and they were both delicious. Everyone inside was super nice as well.

Yelp
This was the worst Thai food I've ever had.... Thai food is my favorite and I've prob eaten at over 50 Thai places in my travels. Very bland watery flavor, veggies were over cooked, egg rolls were very soggy and bland, rice was dry. Tasted like bad Chinese food. I threw everything away after a few bites which I've never done with any food. I rarely leave negative feedback but had to let people and the owners know. You'd also think if this was being delivered to a hotel that they would provide utensils, napkins or at least a plate. Driver didn't even see my delivery instructions and left it in the lobby. Will neverrrr order from here again. And honestly I've never had bad Thai food so as I said I had to make this review. FYI I ordered on a Wednesday night.
google avatar

Crystal H.

Yelp
I'm hooked on Thai house and Today I took a chance and ordered the yellow curry fried rice with Tofu with med heat. Outstanding taste didn't add any condiments sauce because rice had great taste. Curry flavor was very tasty just the right amount of heat too. Tofu was crispy also love that tofu is cut in small bites. 2/29/24 I notice last time I visit this resturant a sign on window Pho! Well Pho is my favorite soup since 2014. I probably have Pho four times a month. Since I'm trying this Mediterranean thing I had seafood Pho. Broth lacked taste squid very rubbery. I don't like imitation crab either. Also jalapeños sliced length wise very hard to eat.
google avatar

Ernest H.

Yelp
I love this place. Authentic food and flavors. I was ordering carry out. Finally sat in the restaurant and the food was even better. The service was quick and as I sit here writing this I'm getting hungry thinking of that Basil fried rice that I had. It was so spicy and sooooo good. They have a piano and this older guy that sings really well. I was surprised I'd like it. I think they do karaoke I'm not down but I could see it being a good time after a couple of adult beverages.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Thai food. Have passed Thai House many times. Ate there once 10 - 15 years ago. Remembered the place, but not the food. Just finished an order of Pad Thai from there via Door Dash. It was excellent! Got the combo chicken, beef and shrimp. Medium plus heat was right on. To lessen the carb hit, l chose to substitute egg noddles for rice noddles. Will do again. Of the many such dishes from others, l don't remember getting a lime wedge. It added a flavor kick that was good. Enjoyed the meal very much.

Meg A.

Yelp
Could use updating. But the food is great service is good. Family friendly for sure. We were a large group and all the food came out fairly timely. Cooked to order. Have ordered carry out too!
google avatar

Jaquelyn B.

Yelp
Dined in for a weekday lunch. There's A LOT going on. It's clear they're working hard to balance a thriving to go business with dining in. I don't want to knock them down for being TOO popular but the entrance was a little chaotic it delivery drivers in and out and pickups and dine in customers. That said, once seated, it was peaceful and calm. Service was prompt, food was good and the price is right. I had the spicy green beans lunch special with beef and shrimp. The beef was a little tough but the shrimp were great. Perfectly cooked. Flavor was right. I went medium but the medium was light. The lunch special came with a crab Rangoon. I'll be back!

Yelp
We live near Thai House and decided on cold Friday night to give their takeout a try. The online ordering process was a breeze and very easy to customize. There is a convenience fee of $1.50 on carry out but you have the option to pay at pick up and that is rare now. Pick up was very friendly and the restaurant was spotless. We ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Shrimp Green Curry both medium spice. There were a couple differences to their standard Thai items that we noticed. The first was that the spice was just on top of the entree and you mix it in. I like that because there has been times we have gotten home to find we had no heat at all. The second is that there is a rich smokiness to their food so must be the seasoning. The chicken was thinly sliced but almost had a wood grilled taste. I wasn't expecting it but it was delicious. I felt that Thai House was more heavy handed on their vegetables in the dishes than most other place. We were very happy with the quality and portion sizes. They do leave the tails on the shrimp here. I know that is more authentic so no complaints but if you don't want to pause with each bite it is worth taking a minute to remove the shells .
google avatar

LaShandra S.

Yelp
Great customer service! She gave us wonderful recommendations based on our taste buds. Loved the combo Drunken Noodles. The Pad Thai was just okay for us. We had both mild and medium spice but agreed the mikd had enough kick for us. Will stick with that next time.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Food is solid. Nothing epic, but good. Pho below average and bland. Restaurant feels like it could use a good cleaning. Service has always been solid.

Lydia S.

Yelp
My favorite thai place in KC! Their Pad See Ew is excellent and super flavorful. Definitely best for delivery or takeout, but you get so much food for what you pay for.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Fake crab meat and not fried well, over spice with the seafood combo. My husband count there are only 5 shrimp inside... but cost ~$25 dollars. Not worthy to try.

Zia T.

Yelp
idk what I just ate but it wasn't pad Thai. really disappointed bc it looks good but the flavors are not Thai at all. It tasted like those SOGGY instant Thai noodles from the grocery store. Also where my egg? Don't order from here.
google avatar

Kia E.

Yelp
Nothing but sweet, smooth creamy heaven in bowl of massaman curry w/shrimp. The base was just the right texture...the shrimp sucked up the peanut taste, along with the lil bit of heat...OMG... Sooo yummy! I will be returning

Greg R.

Yelp
Very authentic Thai food. Wonderful ambience and prompt, courteous service. Will be back.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber Eats to my hotel. Was pretty good as take out 30min later. I'm sure it's amazing eating at the restaurant!
google avatar

Jamie K.

Yelp
This restaurant is made for the Caucasian palate. When you order the spice level "hot". There is no heat, no spice- nothing spicy at all. If you're from Asian decent, traveled to south east Asia or lived there and want actual spice- I recommend calling the restaurant and asking for actual flavor. Very disappointing.

Steven B.

Yelp
Good Food, Great Staff not far off where I work. Location is kind of hard to find next to Lamars Donuts.

Yelp
Lunch was perfect. Ordered the pad Thai and ted curry. My kids ordered the fried rice and it was great! Awesome food and great service.

Yelp
Ordered from Doprdash awhile back and it arrived an hour late. That might be a DoorDash issue though. That being said, I ordered the Pad See Ew and the spring rolls. The pad see ew was not good at all. The spring rolls were alright, but nothing special. Would not recommend.

Yelp
READ THIS FIRST!!!!!! Whoever is giving this place high reviews needs to stop. I'm trying to SAVE YOUR LIFE. Do not look away from this review!!!!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT CAT FOOD SMELLS LIKE? WET CAT FOOD IN PARTICULAR?? Well just get ready, get ready for a cat food delight. Not only did it smell like cat food when my Tom Yum soup was brought to me, but just wait. That cringe moment when you're not sure if you should take a bite? I shouldnt have, but I made the mistake of tasting it and let me just say I never wanted to know what cat food tastes like. But I do now, regrettably. I will admit their spring rolls were not terrible, though, I got the veggie spring rolls and it was literally just lettuce and shredded carrots... Why am I paying 7$ for lettuce and carrots? I have no idea. Usually they put tofu, cucumbers, avocado... Just giving a few ideas people. Maybe I should open a Thai restaurant. Anyways I hope this helps someone and possibly saved someone else from having to taste what I have unfortunately tasted and what is very sadly called Thai food. I do not understand what is happening in this establishment. If you proceed, you have been warned.

Yelp
Best crab ragoons, love the food. Been a customer for years and trusted them to try so many different options that were new to me and enjoyed them all.

Yelp
This place is truly phenomenal. The chicken satay is the best I've had in my life. The peanut sauce that is slathered on the chicken and provided as a dip is out-of-this-world phenomenal. I'd order buckets of it if I could. The pad Thai and tom kha warm my souls and please the spirit. This is the best Thai restaurant I've had in Missouri or Kansas.

Yelp
I tried the Penny's Signature Dish and hubby had the Cashew chicken stir fry. This was our second visit here and we both enjoyed it more this time. Guessing that maybe we just did a better job of ordering, because the service was good both times. Friendly staff, quick turn around and solid Thai dishes. We liked it enough that I grabbed a to go menu on our way out the door!

Yelp
I have heard about this place for so long and finally my roommate and I went to go try it. We didn't realize how close it was to us! We walked in and were greeted by a super nice woman who walked us to our table. When we sat down she asked if the table was ok or if we would like to move, since our table was by a window and the sun was shining bright. We told her the table was just fine but I appreciated her attention to detail. For starters were split our go-to's of crab rangoon and and pork dumplings. The sauce that the dumplings come with is spicy. I love spice so I was all about it but my roommate is more sensitive to spice and after one bite decided not to use it. The dumplings were crispy and delicious and the grab rangoon was spot on. For our main dishes we split two entrees. Drunken noodles are my favorite Thai dish so of course we ordered that. The second entrée we ordered was the garlic shrimp. Not something I would normally order but it was awesome! The jumbo shrimp it came with were definitely jumbo. The rice and sautéed veggies it came with were awesome. Both dishes were gone pretty quickly because we loved them both! For dessert I decided to try to Boba tea. I don't think I would order it again or I would try a different flavor. I ordered the strawberry and it tasted super synthetic and had a strange after taste. I love Boba but this was not the best I have had before. Overall, our meal was awesome. Everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful. I would just pass on the Boba tea next time. There will definitely be a next time!

Yelp
One of my favorites. Everything is fresh and delightful. We always leave satisfied. Excellent service. Super clean. A wonderful experience every time. Highly recommend.
