Food was amazing! First time going and we had a wonderful experience and the service was amazing. I loved to see how the staff remembers the food regulars eat there. It was a fun dance of flavors! Want to come back for many more.

A gem in Modesto! We’ve been coming to Thai House for about 15+ years. Their food is fresh, authentic, and rich in flavor. Their atmosphere feels like home…genuine humor & conversations with home style care. It’s a beautiful group of powerhouse women & their families reminding the community how delicious Thai food is!

Let me kick things off by saying the service was absolutely delightful—friendly and warm, like a hug from a stranger. But unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the vibe. The beef salad was tasty, but the portion was more "snack" than "meal." As for the curry, it was mostly a jungle of thick-cut veggies that tasted like they’d been rescued from the frozen food aisle, swimming in a broth that was a bit too shy on flavor. The lighting? It felt like they were trying to keep some secrets in the shadows. And the bathroom... well, let’s just say it could use a little TLC. So, while the service was a gem, the rest of the experience? Not quite as sparkling.

The people here are so nice, they treat you all like family. I am forever greatful for this restaurant. And their kindness. They make the best food. I have gone to other restaurants testing if any of their food is better but no one can compete to the chefs and their kindness. Thank you guys! ❤

Google
I can't recommend this place enough! The service was stellar—our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu with ease. The food was incredible, with each dish offering a unique and flavorful experience. The red curry was creamy and well-balanced, and the papaya salad had the right amount of crunch and spice. The ambiance was serene and inviting, with intricate wooden carvings and soft music playing in the background. A perfect combination of excellent service, amazing food, and a welcoming atmosphere!

Idk where to start with this place, the staff seems nice but the restaurant looks like a daycare the moment you walk inside. The amount of food I got with my two salad dishes wasn't worth it, lettuce is cheap and they skimp on that too. The mystery meat diced up in the salad was fatty with gristly bits, they were supposed to be mild but it ended up being quite spicy. A ton of liquid ended up in my bag and all over...so beware if you have a bag with a hole. I also ended up with burning diarrhea from the food. I won't be coming back.

Google
Restaurant is very clean and that staff have great hospitality. Ordered the pad se ew, and the noodles came out quite tasty. The curry plate my friend ordered looked good too. Likely will come back

Google
Service was great, food was pretty bad. Even w grocery prices these days, you could make a better Thai dish at home for less (their food’s extremely easy to beat). There are other great Thai restaurants in the area to enjoy.

Yelp
Love this place! Best pineapple fried rice and fresh spring rolls. All of the food I have tried has been amazing as well. Service is very friendly and efficient, even when the restaurant is full.

Yelp
My daughter and son in law recommended this spot. Service was excellent, waitresses were very friendly and helpful explaining the menu. We had the 34 noodles, 40 rice with sunny side eggs, papaya salad and Thai tea. At first the papaya salad's fish sauce was a little strong but you get used to it. That was super spicy for me. I loved the rice, it had an almost risotto texture but not soft but al dente. The drunken noodles were also very flavorful and we really enjoyed those. The Thai tea which once you mix it is bright orange color was creamy, refreshing and sweet. Definitely getting that next time. Will need to find out were they get their eggs as they were really good, tasted eggy and fresh, just yummy. Service a 5 Decor 4 Food 4.5

Yelp
This review is way overdue. Hands down, Thai House is the best Thai spot in Modesto. My husband and I love trying new restaurants, and while there are a few Thai places in town, nothing and I mean nothing comes close to this one. From the food to the service to the cozy atmosphere, everything is consistently top-notch. Garlic Fried Rice - So flavorful and fragrant! The texture is just right soft without being mushy and the egg is cooked perfectly. It paired beautifully with the moo yang. Moo Yang - Thinly sliced, tender, and packed with flavor. The dipping sauce on the side adds a nice touch without overpowering it. Thai Tea - Creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. Drunken Noodles - OBSESSED. So light but full of flavor. The veggies are crisp and fresh, not soggy like at other places. I love that these aren't heavy on soy sauce like most spots around here. They're generous with the basil, and the noodles are super aromatic and delicious. It's hard to describe how good they are you just have to try them. The spice level is also on point, but they'll adjust it to your liking. Shrimp Tom Yum Soup - We ordered a small and it was the perfect size for sharing, with some left over. They even brought out little bowls for us. The broth had that ideal mix of sour, savory, and spicy comforting and flavorful. Water - Yes, I'm reviewing the water because it's that good. Ice cold, super refreshing, and served in real glasses not warm water in plastic cups like some places. It makes a difference when you're eating spicy food! The service is always amazing. The staff is so sweet and welcoming, and since it's family-owned, they really get to know you. The girls already know our order! I also love how spacious the restaurant is you're not crammed in next to other tables. If you're looking for incredible Thai food in Modesto, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
First time trying the Thai House which is hidden on Tully and Standiford Ave behind the Fire House. Heard about this years ago from an acquaintance but never had the chance to try it til now. Inside has no frills and reminds me of a banquet room with its open room concept. I have to say the service was great with 2 women waitresses servicing the restaurant. So went for a simple order of chicken satay and beef pad Thai. My wife was craving for soup and ordered the Tom kha kai (small). And also ordered a Thai ice tea large. So let me start with the soup. Never had it before but the one she ordered I just took a sip to try. It was coconut milk based soup with some sourness to it. My wife enjoyed the bowl of soup whereas I didn't like it. Different taste buds but I'll concur to my wife that it was good since she finished it. Chicken satay - basic sticks that is glazed with curry sauce. It comes with peanut sauce and a sweet cucumber side. No complaints on the satay. The cucumbers was cut somewhat large so didn't soak up the sweet sugary liquid it was soaked in. Minor complaint since I like them more cubed. (4 stars) The beef pad Thai- supposedly that's what it's known for. I thought also that it was good. But not the best I've had (mind you, I've had my share of pad Thai over the years and even had it in Thailand when I went on vacation). Portions is okay but didn't have any peanuts on the side of the dish that is customary. Besides beef, there was tofu and bean sprouts. It's not as sweet as Tasty Thai's pad Thai but probably more akin to what to expect in traditional pad Thai than the Americanized version done at Tasty Thai. I can definitely taste the fish sauce on Thai House which was more overbearing than what I like. The beef was thinly sliced and wasn't a lot on there if I was to be honest. Verdict - good (solid 4 stars out of 5) We shared the large Thai ice tea which was in a super size mug. If there was any highlight- it was probably this drink since we can't go to a Thai restaurant without ordering one. 5 stars. Overall, it's a good no frills Thai restaurant in modesto. Would we go back? For sure if we are craving for Thai food.

Yelp
This is definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant in town. The food was delicious, and we had a fantastic experience during our visit. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff was hustling and the service was outstanding. It's the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy some amazing food. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Yelp
Customer service was great, we had papaya salad, a curry dish, and a noodle dish. They were all packed with flavor with great amounts of spice as requested. We will be back!!

Yelp
We came in on Sunday ~6:30p and the place wasn't full yet. However, I do think they were slightly understaffed; the poor lady at the front was serving ~6/7 tables while taking phone orders. The service was slightly slow, but I know they were trying their best. Pad thai: was decent, nothing special, but familiar flavors. Tomyum: we got a double order, and it came in a share bowl. This was yummy and had plenty of shrimp. Crying tiger: there were many pieces of marinated steak, it was super tender. The veggies were good when combined with the juice from the steak. The sauce is super spicy!

Yelp
Came here after a friend claimed that this was the best Pad Thai he's ever had. This place is a ma & pa shop so it's smaller but there is a good amount of seating. The waitress was super friendly & we were seated immediately. I didn't have to look at the menu - I knew what I was there for. As the kids say - I understood the assignment. LOL. Idk if I used that right but close enough! Ordered the Pad Thai &&&&&& man oh man! The best Tofu Pad Thai in Modesto - hands down! So yums! & the portion is great because you for sure have leftovers to enjoy the next day. One of my shorter reviews but I don't think I need to say more. Try the Pad Thai - your welcome!

Yelp
Last Friday, I had occasion to visit the Thai House here in NW Modesto. I had not been there in decades. As part of a large group, I arrived early and was seated promptly. I was offered the opportunity to order a libation while waiting. When I asked that my order be separate (I was paying for my own) she was cheerful, told me of a small upcharge and took care of my order. The rest of the group arrived, all food came in a timely (unlike some restaurants) and our group seemed well-satisfied. I learned from the waitress that the place had changed hands, but to me it seemed as good or better than before. I am sure I will be coming back.

Yelp
My wife is gluten free and knowing most Thai food is gluten friendly the family owners really walked us through the GF options, 'cause the menu is not yet marked. Man they really are wonderful and very friendly to our dietary needs. Tables are well spaced, not too close together , lighting was good, I could read the menu while not too bright. That's always a plus. :)

Yelp
Facility was clean Food was delicious Customer service was perfect Plenty of flavors in the food Looking forward to my next visit

Yelp
The server was great at checking in on our table and helped us with recommendations on what to order. The restaurant was super clean and quiet as we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time but there were a lot of to-go orders that day. The food was amazing! I just recently started liking Thai food and I'm obsessed with papaya salad. They made it so amazing! The shrimp and chicken fried rolls were delicious too! We also order garlic rice with my all time favorite and it never disappoints :)

Yelp
I love Thai House. It's never a let down whenever I dine in. I've tried a good portion of their noodle dishes, curries, and all their appetizers. As of now, my fav is the Panang Curry. However last time I was there I got the green curry and it was loaded with veggies (which I love). Thai teas are good. I would just order a large since it's a good bang for your buck. If you order tofu, it's fried tofu which I think gives it more a wow factor. The only thing I keep forgetting is asking them if they can make my curry spicy. I like a little (more like a lot) heat in my food. Other than that, this place is good.

Pooja L.

Yelp
I've driven by this place for way too long to never give it a chance, haha. I went in on a Wednesday for a lunch meeting with my coworkers and was seated immediately. The restaurant is very spacious and has adequate seating. Our waitress was great! She's such a great vibe with the laughs and getting our order, very attentive. I got the Chicken Pad Thai, it did not disappoint! We also got a few papaya salads for the table and my coworkers all had various dishes. I thought it was very affordable, especially with the way prices for food is now... I will definitely be back again.

Yelp
This is the only Thai restaurant we approve of in Modesto. Dry pad thai is a huge crime in our book but Thai House does it right. Mango sticky rice is seasonal, but when it's in season, the mangoes from Thai House are so sweet and fragrant. We have never dined in but every time we come in to pick up food the service is always friendly. We recently heard that they are celebrating 20 years and rightfully so. It's unfortunate that the food scene in Modesto isn't so great but Thai House is a worthy choice.

Yelp
One of our go-to places for lunch. Their staff will always make you feel at home here. Their food is excellent, especially their moo yang, with eggs.

Yelp
Walked by and realized I'd never tried this place before. Food was great! Really flavorful curry. Love the fried tofu app and enjoyed dipping it in the mild curry. Pad se ew was also great! The server was really funny and made us feel at home!

Yelp
My husband and I love the food here. Service is great and quick. Everything that we have tried has been excellent. If you have not yet tried Thai house please go check it out. It's family owned and run and the food is very good.

Yelp
I tried to tea lite today. I walk in at 7 pm and I ordered a Thai tea. It taste good, the cup looks like the cup from Boba Pup. Will probably come back

Yelp
I wanted to try this place since we were in the area and was craving Thai food. The moment we walked in, there was no one in site to seat us. 10 mins later someone came to us, no smile , very unpleasant. We were seated and no one ever came to take our order. 30 mins later we left. Very poor service.

Yelp
Delicious food. Their curry is amazing. I feel like their portion sizes are smaller than other restaurants BUT more filling or authentic tasting.
google avatar

Luis P.

Yelp
The food here is very tasty. I ordered fresh spring rolls. Generous portions. But it was just ok. The entree was Pad Kee Mao. Very flavor. Portion size just right for one. Finally a Thai ice coffee. I ordered the large. It is really large. Good value Service was good. Nice find for a weary traveler

Yelp
As soon as you walk in you are greeted and seated right away. It's very cozy inside. Our server was very attentive and friendly. She made a couple of suggestions of what to order. Also, suggested the wings that were not on the menu. If you do decide to order the wings, make sure you order them right away as they take 10 minutes to make. She stated that is family owned and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and it tasted homemade. That's because the mom & aunty are cooking in the kitchen. I am definitely coming back and highly recommend it.

Yelp
You can't get better food or service anywhere. We had our daughter's graduation party here. The food was phenomenal and the server was hilarious. Would highly recommend

Yelp
Have been getting their Moo Yang with sticky rice for years now and it's so freaking good! One of my top 3 favorite foods I've ever eaten for sure.... And now I'm craving it again they just don't make it like Thai house does any where else

Yelp
Review from visit on May 19th 2022. Happen to stumble upon this gem of a Thai food restaurant when we decided to go grab some fire wings located next to them. So happy that my mom and I decided that Thai sounded better than getting normal wings. Small mom and pop shop that completely left us Happy and wanting to come back for more. The waitress was fantastic, super friendly and talked with us like if she knew us well. We had a couple different Items off the menu but since it was just my mom and myself we didn't need much food. We ordered Fried rice, pad prig khing with chicken and chicken Pad Se-Ew. All the food we ordered was delicous and fresh. The portions are great size for the price point. Our favorite of the meal was the pad se- ew is honestly some of the best I've ever had. We will definitely be returning again when in the mood for some good food. Make sure if you are in the area to give this place a try!

Yelp
Family Thai flavors, makes you feel like home in central valley. Generationally ran business, brings a great dining experience. Nestled at the end of a shopping center, there is ample parking for the whole family and friends. Recommended by a good friend, I know I had to come check them out. I wish I could say, that after two trips I tried something different, but I am hooked on their Penang curry with mixed veggies #71. The meal is made by default mild, you can ask for Thai ground chili if you really want to kick it up. Loaded with veggies and protein, this made for a filling lunch. The house peanut sauce also paired nicely with the curry, and rice. If you are a Thai Tea lover like myself, then this is the spot for you! Their Large Thai Tea makes Outback steaks wonder where their beer glasses went. From both of my trips in, I heard the other diners around me, repeat to their dining partners, "This is my fav Thai spot!" I know I found my local spot.

Yelp
My wife and I have been, coming here for at least 10 years. I can say every time eaten here it has been amazing, Thai House consistently has amazing food. I moved about an hour away from Modesto and still drive the hour to get Thai House

Yelp
One of, if not /the/ best, Thai food places I've ever been to in the US! Thai House is a small family-run business with a wide ranging menu and a nice selection of dishes you may not find in other Thai restaurants. The home cooking feel definitely comes through, and the staff are so friendly. I'm glad to have come with a large group friends so that I got to try a little bit of everything we ordered! My favorite dish is the kang jerd woon sen - a very flavorful clear soup with glass noodles, napa cabbage, and tofu, which is the perfect comfort food for me! The garlic rice in their kao mun kai is SUPER good too. Papaya salad tastes very authentic, and their pad thai is impressively flavorful. I will say the pad ke-mow noodles were not what I expected compared to other Thai places; it was on the sweeter side and not spicy, and didn't taste too different from what you'd expect of pad se-ew - but they definitely have other dishes with plenty of spice, just ask! Next time I think I'd rather reorder the grapao noodles (very yummy) or try the rad na. Portions are generous (especially with the fresh spring rolls!) and prices are good - coming from the Bay, I feel like this is unbeatable value for the quality of food you're getting. I would love to come back whenever I'm in the area again.
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp was really flavorful. I wish there were more noodles for the amount of sauce that came with it. There were only 2 shrimp, but hey it was $12. The Pad Thai coffee was okay. Really sweet in my opinion. I prefer the bold and strong coffee taste of Vietnamese coffee. It needs some crushed peanut on top. The combination was also very good. But it didn't come with a side of your typical veggies (bean sprout, basil, jalapenos, and lime. Broth flavor was plentiful. The interior decor was plain, but not bad.

Yelp
I've come to strongly believe that everything on their menu is absolutely delicious. My favorite to get is all for me but could feed about 3-4 people: Basil fried rice 2 eggs over medium on top 1 orders of beef jerky 1 order of crispy chicken wings Lao style papaya salad medium spicy Sticky rice Spring rolls chicken Thai iced tea Wrap some jerky or chicken with sticky rice, add the papaya salad on top of it and enjoy They get super busy and are still always very attentive, the food never disappoints and everyone is so welcoming. The restaurant is always clean and I love the lighting in there for some reason.

Sincerrianne S.

Yelp
This place never disappoints the food is amazing! Full of flavor and I always go home with leftovers. They are so friendly, I have yet to eat here for dinner yet but I'm sure I will soon. Very clean and great atmosphere.Till next time!

Yelp
So I had surgery not too long ago and was looking for something other than your regular chicken soup. I decided to try their Tom ka kai it's very simple chicken soup with mushrooms and green onions I noticed kefir leaves also. This soup was delicious was just what my healing body was craving. It has a sweet and sour taste and is light and fresh. I noticed you can add more to the soup if you want, but since I wasn't feeling good I kept it simple. My husband shared it with me and he had rice noodles with his, he really enjoyed it that way. It was very busy and we did have to wait a bit but it was a Friday night, so that is to be expected. Totally worth it.

Yelp
I love Thai food and have tried several places in Modesto and the food I was served here is gonna start having me drive across town cause it is so good! The staff was super friendly (even when it was 112 degrees outside) they still greeted friendly and smiled and joked the whole time! The restaurant was hot when you walk in but they made sure to let us know the back tables were cooler but the heat wave was to blame so it was nice sitting and dining with them in the cool area! If you want a great thai place I would highly recommend coming here!

Merly A.

Yelp
Good customer service & foods are superb flavor & place is clean! Friendly staffs & familiar with returning customers & knew their orders without any doubts! Overall rating ! 5 stars of all Thai restaurants here in the Valley!

Yelp
Amazing pad Thai!!! I loved it!! The service was friendly, fast and overall excellent. They also accommodated my to go order in smaller boxes since I was on a motorcycle!! Bonus points
google avatar

Andrea F.

Yelp
open for dine in and the food is delicious. I recommend getting the egg rolls for an appetizer. They are perfectly crispy and I love the sauce that it comes with. The pad thai is as expected and very flavorful. As for desert the sticky rice and mango is amazing as the mangos are perfectly ripe every time I order it. The fried banana and coconut ice cream is delicious.

Yelp
The service was great. They are friendly and the girl took her time to answer all the questions I had. They were very accommodating to my friend's gluten allergy.

Yelp
Wonderful Thai place with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. I love their Pad Thai. Super yummy and good portion size! The ladies who work here are very sweet. Overall, clean place with lots of options for vegetarians/vegans!

Alma T.

Yelp
The food was really good! The server was very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area was quiet. We ordered the chicken called Volcano something. It was sweet and spicy. The papaya salad was good I wish it was more spicy though. The eggplants with chicken were also really tasty.

Daniel M.

Yelp
This place is great! I always order to go. Love their food especially their pad Thai and fry rice. I have them make it spicy as I love spicy foods! The staff is really friendly and they are always happy to make some excellent recommendations if you are unsure what to order. Best Thai food in town!

Yelp
Quiet on a Saturday at 5 PM, only 1 other table seated with approximately 15 tables in a nice indoor only setting. Spacious setup, not crowded at all with some traditional Thai art & decor adorning walls but no booths. Our server explained the 20 year history in Modesto with family roots in San Francisco before moving here to launch the restaurant. A nice personal touch to acquaint us with the place as ot was our first visit. Ordered Red Curry with chicken, Green Curry with chicken and Yum Neur Nam Tok (spiced beef with side of iceberg lettuce) with a diet coke. Steamed rice was not included with either curry so had to purchase separately. Diet coke served by the can. The Yum Neur Nam Tok was served first with iceberg lettuce on side instead of beef atop. I enjoyed this variation & our server let us know if we preferred a serving variant in future, just let them know. Both curries served subsequently and both were delicious. The Green Curry in particular had more veggies in it than I have seen in other Thai restaurants and left us wanting more. We were not asked how spicy we desired curry so both came mild which served us fine but if prefer spicy, that is not a default so do ask. As we finished, 5 more families had been qsat and to go orders were being called in non stop. A testament to their popularity. Total price $43.09 before tip, a reasonable price for a very good meal. Definitely worth your time to try.

Yelp
FOOD: amazing, freshly made, we don't eat meat and everything was made without problems. We had the Tom Ka, Pad thai and the spring rolls. Emphasis on FRESH. SERVICE: Kind, quick - need I say more? The lady is very welcoming Ambiance: Quiet, romantic, peaceful, relaxing

Yelp
Love the Thai house! I'm sad when it's not open so get in while it is! Salt and pepper pork is my favorite

Yelp
First, service was great. Spring Rolls are made to order, so they were tender and not rubbery. Both meals were great. Very flavorful, and portions were more than ample. We will be back to try more.
