100% Halal Thai in Woodside, Queens with friendly staff, good prices, and of course, great food. Warning ahead: some pictures come with half-eaten food because we forgot to take pictures until we started eating.
We started off with appetizers: the Thai spring rolls (come with 8 halves, a sauce, and a small bowl of veggies) and Chicken Satay (an order comes with 4 skewers and peanut sauce). The spring rolls were crispy and the satay was chewy and great with the peanut sauce.
Then, we had beef pad Thai: overall, 8/10, pretty solid, and a good spice too with the side of chili flakes for additional spice.
We continued with either the Ba Mee Red Curry or Red Curry (can't remember which), but it was coconut-ey and I loved the crispy noodles on top.
Then, we wanted to try another curry, so we opted for the Massaman Curry with shrimp, which had influences from Indian cuisine and you could definitely taste the fusion. For me, personally, this was a 7/10. I wouldn't recommend getting more than one curry at a time because the flavors profiles are pretty similar.
We were still hungry, so we chose to get the grilled chicken topped with peanut sauce and THIS dish was the one that honestly really surprised me. I wasn't expecting anything special, but this dish was an easy 10/10 PLEASE get this if you're eating here. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the peanut sauce elevated the dish to a whole other level.
We were stuffed, but there is always room for dessert, so we got the mango sticky rice. Although the portion was slightly on the smaller side, we went to this restaurant in late June during mango season, so it was perfect. The sweet coconut-ey sticky rice pairs perfectly with the ripe mango.
All in all, a solid restaurant with a few standouts (grilled chicken with peanut sauce and the Red Curry) and perfect if you are want to eat halal Thai.
