Google
Great ambience and cheap beer and wine. They even have but one get one on beers all day and have some good happy hour. Unfortunately the food didn't meet our expectations but the basil fried nice too much soggy. The soup was alright and so was the rolls we took.

Elizabeth

Google
The cream cheese rolls were absolutely delicious! I ordered the mild Panang curry, but it ended up being extremely spicy for me (and I have a higher heat tolerance)—perhaps there was a mix-up with the spice level when I ordered online. That said, the flavors were fantastic! I also appreciated that they included two boxes of rice, which really helped balance out the heat. Very nice environment to walk into with kind employees.

Google
This has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in the Twin Cities. The flavors are unmatched..

Google
First time eating here, and I'm happy to say it was an awesome choice. Delicious food for sure and prices are affordable. Sometimes, if you want to eat really good food and have no time to cook, I really invite you to order from here. Order to go eat home or inside. I'll be returning to try different dishes. They have a nice selection. It is in a good location, easy to park, and get in and out really close access to 35W. Try their Rama Curry ..the peanut sauce is delicious. Veggie spring rolls are good too.

Google
Everything was amazing! Should have taken more pictures. Spring rolls, gyoza, pork egg rolls all really great to start. Tom Kha soup was delicious! (Pictured) Pineapple curry, Rama curry, and basil stir fry were all fantastic! Everything perfectly seasoned, hot temperature, good spice you can select too. The gentleman helping was very sweet. I can’t wait to return!

Google
An absolutely gorgeous little restaurant that smells good as soon as you walk in the door. The gentleman serving us was considerate, fast, and kind. Honestly some of the best Thai food I've had in Minneapolis and with the reasonable pricing and excellent service it's hard to beat. We had Pad See Ew, Papaya salad, Drunken Noodles. Also the Thai iced tea and a mango juice. Mild is Minnesotan appropriate (very low spice at no cost to flavor) and the medium builds slowly over the meal.

Google
Excellent, fresh food and friendly service. Very happy to have Thai Pepper in our new neighborhood. We had the Singapore noodles, pineapple curry, and veggie spring rolls.

Google
Have always enjoyed this place and brought many others. But this eve while dining found a hair in my drunken noodles. When brought to the waiters attention he indicated he could give me 15% or $2.50 off my dish since I ate most of it. Wish I took a pic B4 sending back as that was not the case. And how gross to charge for a dish I'm not going to eat with a hair. I had ordered two appetizers and another dish for the table too. But you couldn't comp a contaminated dish even when I pushed back. Will not be returning.

Yelp
Definitely a nice Thai place, it's clean and the service is quick and friendly. I really liked the cream cheese egg rolls, they taste just like you'd think. I'm not a big spring roll person, so I skipped on that. Thai Tea was what you'd expect too, very standard and very tasty. The pork belly was an awesome stir fry! Apologies, I don't recall the full name. I was told this place has a high spice level, so I went with the medium. Personally, I wish I'd asked for more, but I know everyone has different tolerance levels.

Jasmine J.

Yelp
As you can see my spring rolls only have 2 pieces of shrimp and are entirely filled with lettuce . I picked this option over another dish for protein and I think it's actually ridiculous that I paid for this. It's not mindful of yal that people already make minimum wage so for my order including tip to be 35$ for 2 things and a drink just to be pure lettuce is very disappointing. The pad Thai was good however there's also microscopic pieces of chicken. It's not worth the price to be honest they're so stingy with the protein ! Not cool. Wish I didn't tip.

Yelp
Went for lunch, what a nice spot! Quiet during the lunch hours, a few take outs but otherwise the place was ours. Great service as a result, not pushy at all and very kind. The food was very tasty, and well spiced. The menu was filled with Thai specialties, and they had lunch specials as well. Will definitely be going back sometime for dinner!

Yelp
I was really craving Pad Thai. Unfortunately, this did not hit the spot and I'm still craving pad Thai. We ordered takeout, but I really can't imagine it would have been much better if we ate there. The pad Thai was flavorless which I now see others have noted the same. I could see from the color of the noodles when I opened it that it was not going to have any flavor. Some sauce had settled to the bottom but mixing it or eating from the bottom didn't change it much. My husband got a chicken curry with rice. I tried his and surprisingly his was also majorly flavorless despite being a bit spicy. Spicy bland rice. I hate writing bad reviews but I want to remind myself not to come back next time I'm looking for Pad Thai nearby. Sadly Noodles & Co. makes a better pad Thai.

Yelp
Surprisingly we were the only patrons during dinner on a Saturday, however, plenty of people came in for their take always. The cream cheese rolls were delicious! Came out hot, crispy, and creamy. However, the dishes to follow were too salty and bland. Maybe we're spoiled given our recent trip from Thailand. Then seeing previous reviews made it clear it's hit or miss here.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I stumbled upon Thai Pepper by accident when I was in the neighborhood. Even though it is a distance from my home I will gladly ride the bus to dine here again. After looking at several menu options I settled on the Pad Thai with Chicken. A standard Thai dish I thought to use this as my baseline for future visits. The portion was substantial and I knew I would be taking some home for more meals. I squeezed the lime which gave the dish an additional citrus kick. Next time I will also ask for Siracha or chili oil to add to the dish. The overall flavor was good, the noodles were excellent, the chicken just right; I really enjoyed the dish. I was the only person in the restaurant, but several people came in for take-out orders. The music was at a good level. Not too loud or soft, but just right. On my next visit I will order the TomYum Soup. It's a hot and sour soup which is something I enjoy. I will definitely be visiting again.

Yelp
I love Thai pepper. They were closed over the summer, and it made me so sad. They have amazing soup, I usually get the Tom Kha soup. It's been a little less flavorful this time around, but I will always go back. I've tried their fried rice, and really enjoyed it. They also have added new things to their menu from time to time that were delicious. Well worth the money!! The staff are nice, and they come out quickly with the food. Because it's a drive through, it's a perfect place to order from especially in the winter!

Amy H.

Yelp
They messed up my take out order and gave me medium spice when I asked for none. I drove back to have them replace it and they would NOT. Terrible custom service!! They insisted I must've ordered wrong?!?!
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Saturday night, they have one guy answering phones and waiting tables and one cook. Food came out 45 mins after the 20 mins they said it would be ready for pick up. Paid full price for undercooked and rushed out food. I don't blame the 2 employees, they were overwhelmed and doing what they could. Obviously the management for this location is derelict.

Yelp
At first we were scared because there was no one else in the restaurant, however I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Will this restaurant change your life? Probably not. However is it perfectly good takeout with decent prices? 100%! Curl up on the couch watch your favorite show and chow down on some good Thai takeout. The service was fast, restaurant seemed decently clean, staff seemed slightly annoyed, however we did arrive short to close. The spice scale is accurate and both the Panang curry and the drunken noodles had a nice heat without overwhelming the other flavors.

Lynn H.

Yelp
Very nice place for food, ambience and conversation. Had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised at their menu. You can pick your heat, I had medium (perfect) and my friend had mild (perfect). You order stir fry etc. and then the type of meat. ALL GOOD. Good parking in a busy area. If you are looking for good Thai food, this is the place for you.

Yelp
Um... no. We were craving Thai food, so we thought we'd try this place, hoping to add it to our repertoire of tasty neighborhood spots. Not a great decision. We got a couple different menu items (take out), like red curry, pad Thai, gyoza, egg rolls... Everything pretty much tasted like airplane food. But worse. This is not fresh, scratch-made fare at all; seems like all frozen stuff like you'd buy in bulk at Costco or something? Absolutely flavorless, not authentic at all. Skip it - there are so many other delicious choices available around here!

Eric E.

Yelp
Wow.... Just had the worst Thai takeout from Thai Pepper.... No wonder it's empty. I ordered takeout before and it was ok but not any more.... Pad Thai thrown together with giant egg chunks. Rama Curry with Beef that was disgusting.... Nothing was simmered in the curry sauce. The beef was tasteless with no sauce, vegetables barely cooked and cold, again not simmered in sauce. They put the ingredients in a bowl and put thick, cold curry sauce on it.

Tamara W.

Yelp
Food is fresh and overall amazing. Each time I have gotten food here I have not been disappointed. Service was great. I Definitely recommend going to Thai Pepper!

Tamara Z.

Yelp
Great medium spice pad Thai, delicious hot veggie rolls. Fresh and light pad Thai, wonderful service.

Yelp
I really love Thai Pepper! So glad there's a Thai place in the neighborhood. One thing, I love spicy food and always get a medium-hot or a 7 out of 7 at Thai places but Thai Pepper's medium is too hot for me. I'm Asian! And have been eating Thai food here for 32 years. So start out with the mold unless you eat raw jalapeños every day.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Brilliant experience/service. Green curry is on point. Highly recommend. Will be back and soon.

Yelp
I went here and wasn't expecting much when I went in - a drive-thru Thai Restaurant was definitely something new. The food was very good, though! I got the cashew curry and the mushroom curry. Both were with tofu, and were delicious. I went again recently and got pad Thai and drunken noodles. I wasn't as impressed with these, but the order of veggie egg rolls I got was amazing. Would recommend!

Yelp
Thai pepper is an awesome spot tucked into a bit of a corner on Robert Street. The food was outstanding, I got the beef Pad Thai, medium spice level, and it was perfectly prepared. The spice level was good, not insanely hot, but definitely present and added some nice flavor. The veggies seemed crunchy and fresh, and the beef was nicely seasoned. The lime on the side finished it off with a perfect tangy kick. The online order system was super easy, and I was able to pick it up my order through their drive thru, which was also super smooth and easy. The pricing was very fair, and the portions were large, which I loved. The best part of all - they gave me a free tea with my order, which I believe was berry flavor. It had a lychee berry on the bottom which was a fun little touch. Definitely check out Thai Pepper if you're in West St. Paul!

Yelp
I know Thai Pepper has been here a while in this retro fitted drive through coffee shop. I drive by it occasional and being it's a drive-through pick up eatery I've been waiting for an opportunity to get something. I happen to be in the area today and wanted to sit down and eat, it's beautiful outside in the warm autumn sunshine, and they have three patio tables out front so I thought I'd give it a shot. There's no parking to speak of, only a couple of spots in the back that could easily be taken up by the employees but alas they were free so I pulled in after placing my order at the drive-up and walked around front until they brought my food out for me (which they offered when I ordered and told him I'd like to sit out front). The food was excellent, freshly prepared, hot and evening to go containers has nice presentation. I tried the fried pork belly which was crispy and delicious, served on a bed of chopped cabbage with a thick spicy dipping sauce to go with it, recommended. I also had the Prik Pao Fried Rice, a sweet roasted chilly paste w/ red bell pepper, carrot, green onion/onion and cilantro (I added tofu). It was nicely aromatic and enjoyable, nice heat (I had medium), recommended. Also I had a Thai iced coffee which is a favorite, good dark heavy coffee with sweetened condensed milk, very good! The food is good, I will make an effort to go out of my way in the future. I hope you can make it, it's an odd location and in the hour or two I've been here I've not seen anybody else come by. That's sad because they've gone thru a good effort to give you a taste of great Thai cooking in a small easy to order grab and go location. Order online, and give it a try. I think you'll like it.

Yelp
We ordered from here after moving in nearby. They were quick to have the food ready (quicker than the online yelp delivery estimated) and the food was very good. We ordered a chicken laab, which was perfectly seasoned. We also ordered pad Thai to be vegan, and they handled that well. The pad Thai was very very spicy which was fine but we did request that mild. The heat level of the pad Thai didn't taste like it was coming from fresh Thai chili's but instead some sort of dried pepper. It wasn't bad, just different to most Thai food I've ever had. They also had a super cute walk up and drive up window which made ordering really convenient. I'd order from here again.

Yelp
First Thai Food in Robert street in St Paul, i just try their food and yes they are good, I had Shrimp Tom Yum which was Really good but I had only 4 shrimps so I was sad about it. I also had egg rolls they are good, and finally I had Deep Fried Pork well it was dry, no flavor so I didn't like it but the sauce was really good. Right now they don't have tables because the winter but I'm sure in summer they will be outside, it's better you order aheaD si by the timE you are there your food its ready.

Yelp
This is for the new location at 5455 Nicollet Avenue ( Nicollet & Diamond Lake Rd). Went for lunch on Friday. There were a total of four people in the restaurant . That may tell you something. Got two dishes: Cellophane noodles with chicken, and pineapple fried rice with shrimp. Both dishes were very bland, lacking taste. The pineapple fried rice had several small chunks of pineapple, and maybe two cashews. The meal was very disappointing. It was $38 for lunch for two - IMO outrageous. Additionally, the parking lot, is the size of a postage stamp. Not a value. We won't be back.
google avatar

Luis E C.

Yelp
Looks to be closed, looks to be closed, abandon not in service drive by there and saw no one around lunch time.

Yelp
This is a new hidden gem in West St Paul! Food: We've tried the Panang Curry, Pad Thai, Egg Rolls, Green Curry and the Thai Basil Stirfry. The Panang was the best - it's a true creamy, spicy panang. The Pad Thai was the weakest and I'm not sure I would get this again as the noodles weren't very "saucy", it felt primarily like plain noodles. The egg rolls are authentic and crunchy and I could easily eat six of these in a sitting. Venue: It's a drive thru venue so I highly recommend ordering ahead and picking up.
google avatar

Gita B.

Yelp
Fantastic green curry! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I love the option to pickup through the drive through. Fast, easy, convenient. If you order at the drive through, there are some spots to pull off and wait. I ordered green curry with chicken at the medium spice level. The flavor was terrific , the spice level was perfect- noticeable but not overwhelming. The vegetables in the sauce were crispy and fresh. I particularly enjoyed the Thai eggplant and bamboo shoots. Strands of ginger are noticeable and can be alarming if you don't expect it. I had enough curry for two meals but I can see how one could finish all of it in one sitting. I can't wait to come back and try the other dishes!
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
Doesn't catch the eye driving by but the food is incredible. Amazing prices too. Pad Thai had a nice flavor and the curry's are good too. Love this place!
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
Don't let the exterior of this place deter you. At the moment their ordering screen is down so pull up to the window to order. The food is really good! Drive thru is quick and staff is always friendly. The curry is addictive, I've tried them all. Oh and get the cream cheese rolls.
google avatar

Joy R.

Yelp
I've only been here twice. The first time was good enough for me to want to go again. The second time however was very disappointing. I ordered sticky rice and when I came home I opened it and I was shocked at how old it was. Literally looked like it was 3 days old. It was breaking apart and hard. Couldn't even finish my meal because it was so off putting that someone would package that up knowing it looked like that. The larb was also bland and the egg rolls weren't Thai but full of cabbage.. I think they changed their cook or something. Anyways,I Will not be back.
google avatar

Troy J.

Yelp
Don't let the small size and short menu for this drive-thru Thai restaurant fool you. They serve up BIG flavors. And, they deliver. We enjoy the beef jerky appetizer, chicken pad Thai, chicken basil stir fry, among other entrees. We were not disappointed. Spicy level is higher than you'd expect... so take it down a level for your first order and dial it up from there.

Beth O.

Yelp
I went to Thai pepper yesterday and was quite impressed especially for a drive thru. I would recommend ordering ahead 5-10 minutes if you don't want to get out of the car. The drive through window is for pick up. With that I went in and ordered the food was ready in about 5-7 minutes. The owner was delightful and excited about the new place. He is looking forward to adding a few more items soon. The egg rolls were great, 3 big ones per order. Very light flakey outside and fresh inside ingredients. The Pad Thai was very good but I prefer a touch more sauce(it may have soaked in because I didn't eat it for 20 minutes). I ordered it with chicken and there was plenty of it! I look forward to trying some of the other items.
google avatar

Joe I.

Yelp
It was good. Ordering was okay, guy on the other end was stressed and it came through in our interaction. There is no seating, carry out only, and if you order ahead you go through the drive through to pick up. That worked well. Food was ready on time. I had tofu green curry and my wife had shrimp pad Thai. We're pretty spoiled in the twin cities with incredible Thai places, which makes the bar rather high. This Thai was good. It wasn't amazing I can't wait to go back good, but it was good. It's far from my place of residence, and I think Ruam Mit has superior green curry, so unlikely I'll be back soon. That said, if anyone said they were ordering from this place I'd happily place an order and eat it up. It was good.
google avatar

Michele H.

Yelp
The second (and third) time around they got my order right. I'm still a fan of their Pad Thai and I'm definitely a fan of the convenience of the drive through. I would recommend Thai Pepper for a quick week night meal. Call ahead and pick up in the drive through 20 minutes later!
google avatar

Nate D.

Yelp
Not gonna lie. I wasn't expecting much from a drive thru Thai place located in an old hot dog stand. I mean, seriously? But then I have it a shot. It was actually quite amazing. The Panang curry was flavor packed, and the three pack of egg rolls were a nice side. I look forward to checking out the rest of their menu over time. When rolling around with the kid strapped in the car seat, it's great to know there are options for fast food that don't require me to visit the usual suspects and their usually suspect menus.
google avatar

Piper A.

Yelp
We had Thai Pepper for the first time in two years, and I have to say, they've stepped up their game! Don't get me wrong, it was delicious two years ago! But we got the green curry (with tofu) and panang (with tofu) and both were phenomenal. Serious and wonderful depth of flavor, not overly sweet OR overly spicy, veggies done perfectly (bamboo was a perfect blend of soft and crunchy). Tofu was perfect, as well--soft inside, nice crisp on the outside. HIGHLY recommend!!
google avatar

Miles L.

Yelp
I dig the flavors ! I got the egg rolls for a appetizer, and they were fresh, and tasty. You get 3 for 3.50 so,it's a pretty reasonable deal (4 inch egg rolls) . Main entree was the drunken noodles. Great fresh flavors incorporated - super friendly staff The bad the noodles were pretty much mush, which I dealt with fine, but hopefully next round I get some al dente noodles. Ordering is awkward, so be prepared. I think I'll call ahead next time as mentioned, in the other comments. I'll be back.

Diane P.

Yelp
Food is excellent! I particularly love the shrimp pad tai. I can get the exact amount of spice I want. Staff very nice!

Shirley V.

Yelp
The only thing worth getting here is the tea with creme. The egg rolls and shrimp snd noodles were dry and tasteless. However I will go back for the Tea with cream. Grest!!
google avatar

Vignesh P.

Yelp
Stand out Tom Yum, panang curry. Nice people and really good quick drive through service. The pad Thai was the only thing that we weren't a big fan of. Extra Smokey and not tamarindy enough. Will definitely be back a lot!
google avatar

James E.

Yelp
Love their food, their service and everything on their menu Love finding a good Thai place for takeout that's affordable and delicious.
google avatar

Chelanne E.

Yelp
Had been meaning to try this place for awhile. Ordered one of the curry dishes with shrimp. A lot of flavor and even some spice had me thrilled. Shrimp quality was decent too. I'll be a regular for sure.

Rag P.

Yelp
We don't eat out or takeout much so finally when the stars aligned, did a search and sort by "stars" and this place came up on top. Even though it was 20 Mi drive, decided to give them a try confident that I would not be disappointed. Well, I was wrong wrong ! None of the four items we ordered were even above average. Pad Thai was absolutely flavorless, drunken noodles felt like over cooked mush with hardly any taste, and Penang Curry was like colored coconut milk. Only thing that was just barely moved the needle off zero was the Pad Prik King. Should also mention that the portions all felt much smaller than they should've been which actually turned out to be blessing in disguise. Needless to say, wouldn't be going back there again !

Jessica R.

Yelp
I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken, which was delicious! But I also ordered rice as a side with the intent of eating it like a curry, I didn't see anywhere in the description that it already included rice. Three things that will prevent me from ordering this amazing dish again. 1. There are bite size pieces of lemon grass that are tough and inedible. these should be larger pieces removed before serving. 2. There are also large chunks of ginger, which should also be removed or cut down as they are inedible at that size. 3. I ordered the hottest level and there was zero spice, not MN spice, zero. I'm sad not to order it again as the flavor was amazing!
google avatar

Eric O.

Yelp
We tried this place for the first time today. I had the stir fry cashew and my wife had the pad Thai. They were both excellent with great flavor, perfect heat, and fresh ingredients, and at such a reasonable price! We're looking forward to trying the other dishes on the menu. My only regret is that we haven't tried this place sooner.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Omg. So authentic and affordable...Super delicious gem. Look carefully though the sign hasn't been put up yet.

Gerardo V.

Yelp
Passing near by I decided to get some Thai food, I have plenty of knowledge about Thai food and the culture, so I had to try it just because I love Thailand. When arriving this guy with a mask on, ask me (mumbling) "what I wanted?", to what I responded sorry I can't hear you. Let me mention that I often go to McDonald's and I hear them perfectly, I never had any problems. Anyhow, for every question he would roll his eyes at me, I do understand the frustration of having an accent and when I am tired I mumble too, but I don't roll up my eyes to my costumer because I don't want to be there. I end up leaving without trying their food. I hope management would do something about their horrible staff.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
This place was phenomenal. Ordered online and by the time I got to the drive thru it was ready to go. We ordered green curry, Thai basil, pad Thai, egg rolls, cream cheese puffs and jerky. All of it was so incredibly delicious. The chicken is nice and tender. Can't wait to go back and try other curries and beef!
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Amazing green curry with beef. Fresh ingredients, very authentic. Some of the best I've had in the east metro. Tom Yum is unique but very good as well.

Molly R.

Yelp
This place doesn't look like much, but it's fabulous! I would absolutely recommend and the staff is wonderful too!
