The 38 Essential Milwaukee Restaurants

"This sliver of Silver City is rife with far-reaching international soul. Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Laotian food, along with this Thai standout, populate a single intersection of National Avenue. The menu here is similarly expansive. You can bounce from fried quail or crispy chicken skewers to hot pots, larb, curries, or bowls of pho. The Thai barbecue pork noodle soup — served with jalapenos, chile garlic paste, and crushed dried peppers — is the all-star dish of any chilly Milwaukee night, its velvety, rich broth teeming with sunken treasures of pork. It’s hard to imagine a more sinus-singeing bowl of comfort." - Todd Lazarski

Our native Thai speaker waitress was the Best! The menu had a massive 117 items, all with color pictures! I was hoping for a "signature" item and specialty drinks, but didn't see any.

The pineapple fried rice with chicken was incredible. Server was attentive and friendly. Reminded me of some of the other Thai places I’ve been to in Los Angeles….seriously the best pineapple fried rice I’ve ever had though

You can get bad service anywhere once. I wouldn't start dinging the rating unless it was systemic. In my case, however, service was great. The tall guy there, owner I presume, handed off my takeout. He was real cool. Food was great, although about half the tofu was over cooked. No biggie, it happens. Thanks, will recommend.

The food was okay. Pineapple Curry Fried Rice is my go to at Thai restaurants. This time it came out kind of bland. It was the concensus amongts all the guests I went with. They all added more salt to their food. The fungus dish however was way too salty I couldn't finish it. Pho is good. It has most of the stuff already in it so that could be good if you don't know what to add in. Lao Papaya was average. The sausage was really good Service was friendly but took a while for the food to arrive. I asked for chicken in fried rice and got beef instead. Not a big deal to me but could be deal breaker for some. There are several other Thai and Lao options near by. I'd give them consideration. If I come back here, it'd be for the sausage only. The last few times I've gone back have been disappointing and would be hard for me to recommend against other good restaurants.

The owner is truly a people person! We were greeted with kindness and smile by the employees. The place is always clean, and no dishes are left after you finish a certain dish. The food is very good and fresh. We opted for the combo pho, and they did not disappoint. They even offered us complimentary tableside tea service! 🍵 If you are seeking authentic Thai with great service this is hands down one of the best.

The service was good and the dishes came out quickly so the wait was not too long. For appetizers we ordered the Issan Sausage and Crispy Squid, which were both excellent. The sausage has a sweet and sour taste and the squid was nice and crispy, not soggy at all. We also ordered Tum Soua Noodles that were delicious. The other dishes included Beef Noodle Soup and Tom Sad, which were also delicious and flavorful.

This small unassuming little restaurant is fighting well above it's weight class. From the price and the authenticity of each dish, in addition to the family style atmosphere this place is hands down one of the best Thai Restaurants in Milwaukee. Definitely coming back again and will definitly be telling anyone I can that if you're feeling Thai food, this is the place to go!

Great authentic Thai food! Definitely try the Masaman curry and tom yum soup if you haven’t. Chang and Singha are both authentic Thai beers as well. Give them a try if you enjoy light beers
