Where to Eat Vietnamese Food in Philly

"The beef and chicken pho are both good moves at the casual Thang Long in Kensington, which also offers a selection of vermicelli and rice dishes. Vegans have options here too, including pho with tofu or meat-free meatballs or chicken." - Diana Lu, Caroline Coral

Not my favorite and usual place for pho and vermicelli but 5 ⭐️ for quick service, homestyle flavors, generous portions, and serving Kensington area! The summer rolls are fresh with pork and shrimp and one of the few restaurants to serve 3 rolls for $5.50 (most serve 2 for similar pricing). The grilled pork was flavorful over the vermicelli. I enjoyed the spicy chicken stew over broken rice. It had a punchy ginger taste and not too spicy. The sauce was so good I finished all my rice. :) thanks!

This is such a hidden gem! I was shocked to find not only your typical vegan pho but they also have a vegan spicy meatball lemongrass noodle soup and a handful of other vegan dishes!! I'm very impressed with how flavorful the broth is! I added tofu to my soup, and the tofu is soft! I also got the vegan spring roll. It comes with 3 per order. The service was superb and timely mannered. The dishes are delicious and very affordable. Do not let the neighborhood deter you from trying it out! I'm so happy to find my go-to Vietnamese restaurant!

A total speechless experience 👎 I came in here being the only customer (there was another one but she was finishing), and I ordered 1 special chicken pho. I asked the waitress what part of chicken was used in the dish, and if I could get the thigh because I couldn't eat white meat. She said ok and took the order to the kitchen. A few mins afterward, she even came out and told us the kitchen said there was no more egg for the chicken pho, and I said that was fine. And then very long after, I was served BEEF pho 🙄🙄 She went to the kitchen and had a long conversation with the cook, and the cook insisted the order was Beef pho, not chicken 🙄 And again, I'm the only one dining in 🙄 In the end the kitchen unhappily (??) agreed to remake it, and then chicken pho came with all white meat 🙃 I really don't want to look like a bad person making them redo it twice, but seriously it's not my fault, and I really can't eat white meat. But the waitress refused to make it right, saying it was already made so please eat it whatsoever 🙃 and she left. I ended up having to pay for it whether I eat it or not, so I took a few spoons of the broth and noodles too call it a meal and left the nearly full bowl. No slight expression of apology or anything from the restaurant. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I love their chicken soup. I know its called something else but they know what you're talking about if you ask for chicken noodle soup. The herbs, chicken, and broth are SO FRESH AND JUST GOOD! I had some for lunch and am thinking about getting it again for dinner. 🤗😏

I ordered ubereats with them and a long hair was in my food that went through the noodles. I’ve ordered here multiple time and this is the last time. Really disappointed.

Don’t waste your money here Order to-go, about $250 in total bill for full disappointments About $15/each for instant noodles grade food Hủ tiếu đồ biển just 4 little shrimps and some tofu Bún măng gà without măng Cheap and ghetto location If you have that spending power go eat in New York

The pho was really good. The portion size was perfect. I ordered the vegan seafood pho because I've never had vegan pho; I've only had chicken or pork pho. It was good. I enjoyed it. I would go back and try all their other pho options. Plus the prices were affordable. This huge bowl only cost $10.80. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the customer service could of been better. The food came out quickly but I had to wait a bit and flag down the waitor in order to get the attention his attention to put in my order. I did like that he left an entire pitcher of water for me when we noticed how much water I was drinking.

This place is just ok. Would not be my first choice. The pho ga is not all that and their special Noodles with grill pork and cha is not good.
