Where to Eat the Crispiest, Sauciest Chicken Wings in Houston

"Buried deep on the menu at this Pearland hidden gem are two Vietnamese-style fried wing dishes.(Look for item numbers 113 and 114 on the menu.) One is seasoned with crushed garlic and butter, and the other with caramelized fish sauce — both are worth a try." - Brittany Britto Garley, Megha McSwain

Food was okay nothing special have had way better would not eat again. The white rice and fried rice basically tastes the same with no flavor. Egg roll was not good at all. Plenty of asian places way better than this one.

Google
Love the food, atmosphere is great. Ive been here two times and it was a nice place to have come across. The woman who works in evening is always attentive fast and nice. The boy however could use some customer service training I feel. I came in quickly for a lemonade and quick soup as my throat had been hurting all day. I wanted a soup to soothe my throat nothing more nothing less. He kept trying to offer me more items and was talking to me from my understanding what was a fee on the card for paying less than 10 dollars? Which is fine i didnt care i would happily pay the fee. All it took was a " hey theres a fee for purchases less than 10 dollars" ... ive worked for a family owned restaurant before. I understand fees. but instead it felt like I was lectured? You could of just charged me rhe fee the whole interaction just felt weird. Not sure if ill come back but the egg drop soup and atmosphere is great i just didnt appreciate feeling lectured and pressured in a sense. I would of understood getting lectured if i was just snacking on free things and not buying anything. But the matter of the fact is i was a paying customer, i did pay for the items i requested, would of been okay with a fee, and i left a cash tip on the table regardless. Just confused about the whole interaction.

Google
GOOD. Service was excellent, drinks were excellent! We got two different chicken dishes, one battered and one not. Big, succulent pieces of thigh meat with minimal batter and loaded with flavor 🤤 Server was charming and courteous. We'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes when we're in the area!

Google
We had egg rolls, a fried tofu dish with fried rice noodles, and pho. Everything was fantastic and the service was awesome! All were helpful, attentive and quick. Will definitely be back and will bring the fam!

Google
I placed an order online. The food was good. However, I was charged an extra $2.26 after the order was placed. I was told by doordash that "there was a change in price by this merchant," so they decided to up the price after I purchased it. Although the food is good. It doesn't justify the extra charge that was made without my consent.

Google
Love this place so much especially the lunch menu! The vermicelli with beef and lemongrass tofu is so delicious. The shaken beef is another favorite of mine! The staff is nice and service is fast and consistent! My favorite Viet spot around

Google
We placed an order pick up, I drove there and the food was already waiting to be picked up. In the 5mins it took to drive home the food was lukewarm and had to be microwaved. I don't see how thats possible when 1 was the pho soup. It also has one would assume meat but had a rubbery taste, I didn't eat it. Also the way it looked didn't really look like any meats I would consume. It was rather blane compared to pho from the other place down the street. The Vietnamese eggrolls had a great taste but was more room temperature. The fish sauce i ordered with it tasted amazing. The general tso wasn't eaten and my kids only eat general tso at these places. The prices are rather high, we paid about $60 for pho, 2 orders of eggrolls and the general tso. It seemed to be worth about 40$ of food if that. I wouldn't return.

Google
Love this restaurant, their food is good. Extremely friendly waiters. Their food portions is good for the price. Definitely will be back.

Excellent service, great food, nice drinks, and generous portions. Family style setting. Calm and relaxing atmosphere. They offer lunch specials. Cannot wait to return.

Yelp
A friend and I were looking for some casual Asian eats a little later than usual. I wasn't as familiar with what's available in Pearland, but Yelp steered us right to this location. I was expecting a Vietnamese spot given the name, but I was surprised to see that they served classic Chinese American dishes as well as some interesting specialty dishes utilizing rabbit and venison as the protein. The Vietnamese side of the menu boasts an array of options including pho, bun, com, banh mi, and thin vermicelli. I finally settled on a Chinese American style dish called Eight Treasure Chicken which was a mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp along with bamboo, mushrooms, and a generic brown sauce. Everything was cooked well, and I enjoyed the fact they used dark meat chicken. The Vietnamese egg rolls we split were pretty tasty, though the wrapper was not Vietnamese style. Overall a satisfying meal. Plus you know it's legit when you hear the staff bickering at each other in Vietnamese.

Yelp
Hanging out in Pearland and the hunger pangs hit. It was a little later in the evening but I had a specific craving for pho or something similar. Got on Yelp and found this spot on the east side of Pearland. I've been in Pearland for quite some time when this side of town was the only really developed side. As far back as I can remember, I feel like this establishment has been here for just as long. It is located in a large shopping strip with plenty of parking. Inside was nice and clean. Our server was young and provided great customer service. Pearland as a whole can be hit or miss in that regard, so it was refreshing to see some good service here. Coming to a Vietnamese restaurant, I had one thing on my mind, pho! Come to find out, the menu here was pretty extensive with more than just Viet cuisine. We also noticed they had some wild game dishes like venison carpaccio and rabbit. You don't see those often and it's something that draws people here from what I have read. We started off with Vietnamese eggrolls which is a must order anytime I go to similar type restaurants. They came out piping hot and came with the typical garnishes. I thought they were really good. Nice and crispy and filled with delicious filling. I did a build your own pho with brisket and meat ball. It came with all the usual sides of bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeno, lime and basil. I tried the broth first without adding everything and it was a delicious, light broth. The brisket inside wasn't in there super long, but it was a tad bit tough. The meatballs were perfect and plentiful. The dish itself was a good size and filled me up. I tried a bite of my dining companions Eight Treasure Chicken that was a melody of proteins and veggies in a tasty sauce. It was really tasty and something I would order in the future. Overall, it was a good dining experience. I would say it's one of Pearland's hidden gems because it's easy to miss and not talked about alot. I'll be back though!

Yelp
The place is clean and has large variety of options. However the hot and sour soup was slightly sweet. The chicken with garlic sauce was sweet. The egg roll had strands of cabbage that I could hardly chew. I would give them another try, but I steer clear of what I ordered today.

Yelp
It's a small mom and pop restaurant in the middle of an older strip center in the old part of pearland. Although older, the place was clean. The server was quick and efficient. We came for pho, however this restaurant also has Chinese dishes (more than viet dishes in my opinion). The food came out hot and fresh. The portion size for the pho was great, however, the amount of sprouts and herbs was a bit small. The spring rolls and summer rolls were fresh. I liked their fish sauce but I still added chili oil. I will definitely come back for the pho and will try some Chinese food in the future.

Yelp
We eat here a lot. The people are very nice, the food is always good, very consistent, the prices are very fair, and the place is always clean. What more can you really ask for?

Yelp
An hidden Gem. I stumbled upon this Restaurant. Located in old Pearland, in a strip center. Let Me tell you the food is delicious. I order fried rice, giant meaty pork eggrolls, butter garlic chicken and chicken Lo main !!! Wonton Soup!!! The Customer Service is friendly, so nice and patience, made great recommendations! Nice ambiance in the restaurant. Clean and welcoming!!! Great Chinese food!!!!!
google avatar

Justin R.

Yelp
I am a Pearland local and grew up eating this restaurant for takeout at least once a week. All I can say, is nothing has changed but the interior... when did they update it!! I always order general tsao's chicken with white rice and the portion of chicken is always more than the rice (I'm not complaining!) Another favorite of mine is the Vietnamese egg rolls! The service is nice and the waiters are friendly. Usually the restaurant is dead, but don't let that fool you. The food is delicious!
google avatar

Shannon H.

Yelp
Not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area but okay! We got orange chicken and chicken fried rice. Not bad but the chicken textures were not how we usually like, and the fried rice just wasn't hitting the way chicken fried rice usually does. Not bad though!
google avatar

Marian G.

Yelp
This is a nice little restaurant, open and airy. The servers are attentive and very polite. The food is decent (we had pho) and while it was good, it was not the best we've had. The broth is a light one as compared to the more hearty broths we've recently had.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the larger Houston area. Highly recommended.

Matthew A.

Yelp
This is a great spot for Vietnamese food that sets itself apart from most other places by offering an enormous selection of items on the menu (I counted one time like 20 years ago and it was over 100). How do they have that big of a menu? They are right next door to Hong Kong Food market and can run next door so they don't have to keep so many perishables in stock and have to waste unused ingredients (I'm assuming). I would say this is authentic but I have had Pho from that region of the world and a typical portion would not include the kind of beef that is relatively cheaper here than in a country that has to import and thereby will substitute reconstituted beef formed into meatballs that are then artificially flavored. (This is comparing a typical $2-3 street dish to an actual restaurant here so maybe unfair comparison.)

Yelp
Great food. Great service. Great flavor. Clean area for dinning. Definitely will be coming back!

Sharon A.

Yelp
The restaurant is next door to my nail salon- after getting my nails done on Sunday- I decided to order to go- I even paid for my nail tech who is also Vietnamese - as the owners of Thanh. My nail tech stated that previously she would not recommend, but she assumed they were under new management- so she suggested I try it. Well-there was GLASS in my food. I called them right away- they were very nice, apologized and said I can get a new dish- but not a refund, although I had only taken a few bites out of my meal. Again, staff was very nice.

Yelp
The food is great. I had the lunch special shaking beef (com bo luc lac), it came with a side of the salt, pepper and lime Which made me realize it was authentic. It tasted fresh. My friend had the orange chicken lunch special and it was also very good with good portion sizes The wonton soup and cream cheese puffs were great as well. The ambiance is nothing new, and the service was a little slow but the food is fresh.
google avatar

Antonise F.

Yelp
The service here is good as they are very attentive and friendly. I wouldn't call it pricey because they give a pretty big portion of food. I had enough to eat here and to take home. Everything was really fresh. They offer a wide variety of dishes on their menu, including Pho. The restaurant itself was really clean and so were the bathrooms. The only reason for four stars is because I haven't tried enough dishes to say five but my experience was really good. I will be back to update my review.

Brittany V.

Yelp
Thanh Phuong has been my fave for years. I always love their chicken spring rolls and the pho. Lately I'm really into the charbroiled beef with rice plate. The fish sauce is delicious and the veggies that come on it are also so refreshing. 10/10 recommend!!
google avatar

Summer B.

Yelp
I have been here twice - once, years ago and it was GREAT; twice, last week and it was GREAT. The food menu is easy to understand and portions are very generous. They have an "exotic" small menu that is tasty. The staff makes great recommendations for meals. Easy parking, easy ordering. Fast and polite service.
google avatar

Christian G.

Yelp
Service was decent and it's a nice clean location but the food was just not good. It wasn't fresh and the flavor is pretty bland. Cheese puffs tasted like something you can heat at home, egg roll had a weird flavor and the tso chicken wasnt good. It honestly tastes like the food was just microwaved. Wouldn't recommend it. If anybody knows of a good place in this area please let me know! Still craving Lol

Nancy G.

Yelp
Food is delicious. Been here at least 10 times never disappoints. Prices are pretty reasonable we go at lunchtime. Fantastic service owner is really really nice and his help. I think they do a lot of takeout service. Live closer to me. I go there every day the rest is really clean no dirty tables. I just fantastic. I hope y'all try it.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered takeout. When I opened the bags I quickly realized thr order was not correct. I called the restaurant to let them know and hoped they would correct the problem. They blamed me for mistake and told me I ordered incorrectly. I not only told them the dish but provided the exact number for dish from their website. They claimed their menu recently changed. I explained I had recently ordered the same dish a few weeks back, in person with no issues. No apology and NO ATTEMPT WHATSOEVER to correct they problem. I just wanted what I paid for. TERRIBLE customer service l. I will never go back.

Yelp
Ambience isn't modern or fun. But the food is killer, both the Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine is to die for!!! Huge fun
google avatar

Abrianna R.

Yelp
Food, Service, and Ambiance are always delightful. I usually go when I want to have a nice meal and unwind!

Yelp
This place never fails! The spring rolls are my favorite and everything on the menu is amazing. The customer service is good too.
google avatar

N B.

Yelp
Got some wings on the way home. These wings were exceptional since the dish was supplemented with a caramelized onions and pepper in a sweeter light sauce. That combination was very well done. Gave only 4 stars because I need to try other items on the menu for next time.

Denise G.

Yelp
The service was good never had an empty cup. They make the BEST orange chicken, the shaken beef is delicious! Vietnamese egg rolls were good also.

Katy N.

Yelp
Food was amazing. It came with lots of large pieces and was very filling. The customer service was great and waiter would come back every once in a while to ask if refills were needed or if we'd want something else. The food came in fast. Overall great place to eat at.
google avatar

Sydney F.

Yelp
A hidden gem! I orders the chicken pho and chicken lemongrass vermicelli. Both were fresh and delicious. The staff was also very friendly. The pho broth was one of the best I've tasted in Pearland! Will definitely return to try more items.
google avatar

Howard H.

Yelp
We've only really had the pho and vermicelli bowls here for the most part. They are both on point and good. We've also ordered the garlic and butter calamari as well. It's very tasty but definitely better eaten in restaurant rather take out, as the breading tends to get soggy.
google avatar

Shamyra L.

Yelp
i ordered what was supposed to be Vietnamese egg rolls which turned out to be small chinese egg rolls. not the same taste not the same wrapper
google avatar

David C.

Yelp
Thanh Phuong is a decent Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant. The place gets the job done if you're hungry, but it's nothing special. They have a huge menu consisting of different Asian food, but it's mainly focused on Vietnamese and Chinese. The restaurant itself looks a little old looking and the lighting is very dark inside the restaurant. Service was lacking, and the waiter/waitress only come to check on you if you go out of your way to get their attention. The food is tasty, but certain things on the menu are overpriced compared to other similar Vietnamese restaurants. Although I think it's cool that they offer different game meats prepared in an Asian style. I personally stick to the Vietnamese basics and order their Pho Dac Biet, Bun Thit Nuong, Com Chien Bo Luc Lac, or their Bun Bo Hue. All of these are solid choices, and I'd only come back if I happen to be in the area.

Yasmine S.

Yelp
Spring rolls are so clean and delicious! The peanut sauce is so good! The pho is also very delicious. They're very clean and have amazing service! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jodi M.

Yelp
Food is not good. Beef pho meat was not edible. Weird color to the broth. Also pretty expensive compared to other pho. There is way better pho out there with edible meat at a cheaper price
google avatar

Donna Y.

Yelp
All time fav for our family for years. Tofu spring rolls, best hot and sour soup anywhere, the fried rabbit, vermicelli dishes. All so good! We haven't had a bad dish yet.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
I only tried the Moo goo gai pan and fried rice. The food was fresh, but lacked flavor. Bland bland bland
google avatar

Huy N.

Yelp
Long overdue review. I normally get my lovely wife the bbq pork and egg rolls with vermicelli. Today we ordered.. Pork and shrimp spring rolls: can't go wrong with this type of spring rolls. The only way it can be bad is if the veggies and herbs are bad or quality of the meat is bad. But not here. Nem nuong cuon: it's good! Love how they also put in the egg roll shell within it to give it a crunch. Didn't use their sauce, didn't really need it, however it would've of taste nice with nuoc mam. Bbq pork and egg roll vermicelli: my Wife said egg rolls is good, everything was nice with the nuoc mam and veggies/herbs. However the bbq pork was salty. I know because I tried it. Besides that the dish was good Pho bo vien and gan: sorry I wish I can give it a good review... but it's not great. But rule of thumb, never try pho at a non pho restaurant, especially a restaurant that serves both Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. I thought I gave it a chance and may be amazed. The broth is a little Bland, sweet but doesn't have that pho flavor... meatball was decent, I'm use to those chewy tendon meat ball with lots of flavor. These meatballs weren't bad, it's very soft. The tendon was nice and soft. But the main thing about pho is the broth, and it wasn't there for me. I'll give it 4 star. Service guys were nice, and based on past experience I think this place is good.

Julie D.

Yelp
This is my go to place when I'm not feeling well. I order pho chicken noodle to go. You assemble it yourself. Which I like as I can get two servings for next day meal. Yummy!
google avatar

Mallory G.

Yelp
BEST ASIAN FOOD IN PEARLAND. I would eat here everyday if I could! Every time I eat here; the food is top quality, you get large portions, and the staff is very kind and helpful! Seriously, you've got to try it if you are just visiting pearland or have been here all your life!
google avatar

Larrisa R.

Yelp
We placed a big order and tasted a variety of dishes. None of which tasted like anything but soggy old food. The peanut sauce didn't even taste like peanuts I don't know how you can mess that up and the food had no flavor the meat we old and chewy. I would NOT recommend wasting your money here.
google avatar

Kaleb S.

Yelp
I would rather give a 2.5, but this will due. I have ceased coming to this restaurant. The last time I ordered the General Tso's chicken tasted overcooked and bitter. It did not taste like it did about two or so years ago. The time before that, the address on their website led me to the other side of town. I ended up at Red Lobster indeed. I informed the man at the counter and I felt almost blown off... I don't think he meant anything by it, at least. In general the quality has been low. I don't think I'll be visiting this place for a while until it improves.
google avatar

Victoria A.

Yelp
I love this place I always have! The prices are good and the food is amazing if you haven't tried this place yet give it a chance!!
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
Hi owner could you.updated your open time on yelp? They closed at 9:30pm not 10:00pm on Thursday. The open time showed on yelp is wrong .
google avatar

Candice R.

Yelp
I could totally eat here damn near everyday. I totally love the Pho, and my daughter loves the Wonton soup.

Andres B.

Yelp
Place is great with service and most of the items on the menu are really good ! But recently came to this restaurant and I ordered six dollar noodles and they weren't even noodles. They were just Italian noodles with some time pepper and salt and disappointed me but overall really good place to go. I just suggest that if I'm paying six dollars for some noodles I expect to be paying for six dollar noddles.
google avatar

Mitch G.

Yelp
Great experience. Food was excellent. Service was prompt. Restaurant was clean. Wait staff was friendly.
google avatar

Ngoc L.

Yelp
they're pretty solid with the tofu pudding and little snacks on the counter. but they did not deliver with the CHE. it'll be my first and last. i ordered the combo che with green jellies, the hot lu, etc...everything tasted fine until the dau xanh hit me. the way it was cooked, was so oily! with every spoon i can taste the oil. the MASSIVE amount of oil... so disappointed. would go there for the tofu pudding when im craving it, but will never get che from there again.

Marc S.

Yelp
Worth a try... only Asian cuisine I eat in Pearland. The Vietnamese spring rolls are a solid go to! I am always asked to bring an order when I go into Houston for dinner parties.
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
Very flavorful broth, however I wasn't impressed with their imitation crab meat and the meatballs at all. I usually can tolerate but they literally tasted like mashed rubber. I think next time I will avoid anything that has those in it. Overall decent restaurant with food service. They also have a wide variety of chinese food.
