The Ainsworth in Chelsea is a sprawling urban sports bar with a chic ski-lodge vibe, numerous TVs for game day, and an indulgent menu focused on quirky takes like their famous mac and cheese burger.
"Maybe you need a place to watch Monday Night Football with clients, or perhaps your little brother wants to watch college football with the rest of the JP Morgan training program. Either way, The Ainsworth in Chelsea is a good choice. It’s a big bar that works when some people want to watch sports (there are a ton of TVs), and some are more interested in an upscale space to wear business casual and drink Manhattans at 3pm on a Saturday." - matt tervooren
"The East Village outpost of upscale sports bar the Ainsworth closed on July 3. It will be merging with the chain’s original flagship store in Chelsea on August 24." - Caroline Shin
"Ainsworth has four locations in NYC, in Midtown, Chelsea, the East Village, and FiDi. The restaurant and sports bar also has two outposts in New Jersey and another in Kansas City. It serves takes on bar fare, like wings, tacos, and a lot of burgers, and though those 24-karat gold wings have gotten a lot of press lately, the Ainsworth’s menu previously had a taste for the outrageous. It also has an over-the-top mac and cheese burger, where panko-crusted mac and cheese gets formed into a patty and goes on top of a beef patty; another scoop of mac and cheese is thrown on, too." - Serena Dai
