We were looking forward to dining at Apis and it certainly lived up to the anticipation. We came here for my son’s 19th birthday. The food quality was impressive across the board, demonstrating a clear focus on high-quality ingredients and careful preparation. The service was excellent, with staff being attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. Each course was served with a graceful timing that made the experience feel seamless. The only real consideration is the price. Apis is definitely a special occasion spot, and the cost can add up quickly. While the quality of the food and the overall experience do justify the price to some extent, it's something to be aware of before you go. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for a high-quality meal. If the cost isn't a concern, you'll be very happy with your experience.

If you haven't gone to Apis yet you need to check it out! The food was delightfully presented and beyond delicious. We were attended by Wren and their attitude and care really made us feel like celebrities! They took the time to answer our questions and make us feel at home. They came across as extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their work. More people in the service industry should be like Wren. We'll be back again to meet with our new favorite, Wren!

I haven’t stayed in the rooms, but i stopped in for an early evening cocktail the other night, and Candice was beyond amazing!! She really had a strong knowledge of different drinks. She was super easy to talk to. Excellent service, will definitely be coming back!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Apis, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! Devina, was absolutely wonderful. She was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing meal. The food was great—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Overall, I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. If you’re looking for a place with great service and delicious food, I highly recommend checking out The Apis. Thanks, Devina, for making our visit so memorable!

First time in & sat down promptly. Got pleasure to meet Candi, mention she’s new at the location but could have fooled me. She was awesome, the drinks she made were so good! I’ll definitely be back just based off her character.

Stopped by on a Saturday and visited the rooftop, and I’m so glad I did! Candice was our bartender, and she was absolutely phenomenal. I wasn’t sure what to order, and she went above and beyond by suggesting a few creative cocktails that weren’t even on the menu—each one was fantastic. She’s a true mixologist and an outstanding bartender who made the experience memorable.

We visited the rooftop bar and it was an awesome experience. Candice was very welcoming and made multiple recommendations. The Lobster Roll and chips were very good. We also had a Vine and Vice, wonderful summer drink!

My husband and I had such a great experience at Apis Restaurant thanks to the outstanding service from Devina. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Devina’s professionalism and warm attitude really stood out. It made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back—and we hope to be seated in her section again!

Yelp
We came to Apis for an early brunch on the 4th of July (right when they opened), and it was honestly the highlight of our day. The space is gorgeous very bright, clean, and modern, with a peaceful vibe. Apparently, there's a hotel attached too. Our group of five sat at the bar, and we had such a great time thanks to our bartender--Rehan (I think that was her name!). She was amazing... super friendly, talkative in the best way, funny, and incredibly attentive. I ordered an iced caramel latte and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It was seriously one of the best lattes I've ever had--not too sweet, rich, and so well balanced. I made that thing last because I didn't want it to end! For food, I had the biscuits and gravy and... wow. Comfort food perfection. I wasn't planning on finishing the whole plate, but I couldn't stop. Every bite was worth it. I became apart of the clean plate club that morning! Everyone else in our group loved their dishes and drinks too. Between the food, drinks, service, and setting, Apis is a total gem. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This is the second time I've dined at Apis and feel the need to talk about the food. For the prices, we were very underwhelmed each time. 1) Biggest issue is with the steaks. I ordered a ribeye the first time with no extra toppings (like Parmesan, Bernaise sauce etc.). It came out very under-seasoned and had these fake grill marks on it instead of a nice little crust from a good sear. Okay, not the end of the world but would not order again. Last night we went again and my husband ordered the filet. It did come out medium rare as asked, but it came out with those same fake grill marks and had a lattice cut across the top of the steak. The meat itself was borderline mushy as if something had been done to over-tenderize the meat (which is entirely unnecessary with a decent quality filet which is already a very tender cut). My husband loves steak and he didn't finish it. The accompanying French fries were like McDonald's fries that had been sitting a while. No crispiness, didn't taste fresh at all. 2) The crispy brussels sprouts. The first time we went to Apis I really liked them! They were nicely done, served on a small platter with bacon, pomegranate seeds, and balsamic drizzle. Last night I was excited to order these, but what they brought to the table was a giant bowl of COMPLETELY BLACK sprouts. Husband and I tried them and they were burnt through, it wasn't just the balsamic. I did alert our waiter and they were replaced with a slightly better batch but still overcooked. For $15 this was crazy. Should also probably be half the portion size and half the price. 3) Husband ordered the fried ravioli which were fine, but nothing special. 4) I ordered the salmon entree. The salmon was actually good, nothing special but cooked well. The spinach and mushroom components felt a bit like an afterthought. The potatoes served with them actually tasty--the ones that weren't burned. I like a few crispy bits of potato but the kitchen seemed intent on serving really overcooked veggies last night. The GOOD THINGS we experience there were the service--friendly and attentive service and they were genuinely apologetic about mistakes. The mixologist/bartender is also amazing, I had great cocktails last time I was there and this time asked for a bartender's choice of non-alcoholic mocktail. I just said I like citrus and not too sweet, and he made the perfect grapefruit drink! If Apis can fix the issues with the chefs/kitchen and learn how to make a proper steak, I would really enjoy this place.

Yelp
First, let me say we're from California and enjoy great food. We have traveled quite a bit and have had gourmet meals all over the world. BUT to my surprise, who would have thought a truly gourmet chef is in Kenosha, WI. A suggestion from my cousin led us to this tremendous restaurant. Food and service was exemplary. I wanted to meet the chef to congratulate him on his quality of work but alas, he was not there. Here's my suggestion run don't walk to Apis restaurant in Kenosha you will not be disappointed. There is also a boutique hotel there. ENJOY!

Yelp
Great time here for Kenosha Restaurant Week. Beautiful space with sophisticated decor and great light to set the mood. Seated right away and the dining area was a little empty at 6pm on a Wednesday. Our server, Elise, was super friendly and extremely attentive. She offered great recommendations with apps, entrees and dessert. We opted for the restaurant week menu - tried the meatballs, the penne alla vodka and the sausage pepper pasta. The meatballs were flavorful, moist and perfectly warm. The marinara was sooooo good! The penne was perfectly al dente with a tasty vodka sauce and beautiful burrata presentation. The sausage and pepper rigatoni was infused with good pepper flavor throughout and perfectly creamy. The service was amazing. Not only was our server on top of her game, we also got water filled by other employees multiple times. We finished with the dark chocolate sea salt cookies which were warmed just enough but not too messy. Perfect end to that dinner. I can't wait to come back. Might aim for warmer weather to check out the rooftop.

Yelp
Attend the Mixology 101 class. Learned the history and methodology for 4 classic cocktails. Fun and educational experience. Jamie was very knowledgeable. Cocktails were served with some small bites to allow flavor combinations. These classes are recommended for those who want to upgrade their home cocktail experience.

Yelp
Always excellent food and service. It's one of our go to places as locals. We enjoy the eclectic menu options.

Yelp
Had a dinner date here on a Saturday night in August with a local. Not sure what the other upscale options are in this area but the Apis Restaurant in the Apis Hotel meets the nice classy upscale vibe. I had ventured to the rooftop first and there was not a ton of memorable view from there. It would be worth traversing up there to take a peek and perhaps have a beverage if you are already on this block in downtown Kenosha. The hangar steak and the Sunday sauce were the entrees for the table. The portions are small as that is the intent I believe. I can't recall if we had the cookies or the olive oil cake for dessert. All the desserts here sound so good. I like a restaurant where the chefs put their name on the menu and the items change seasonally. I would come here again when in Kenosha to try other things because so much of the menu sounds enticing.

Yelp
Ricky was amazing. Service was awesome. Knowledge was legendary. Professional athletes comparison if bartending was a sport.

Yelp
Why are you not here Kenosha? This place has amazing food. Wtf. The Apis salad is so good. It's not fair to other salads. The staff is great, polished, cheerful, and on top of the game. Steak, salmon and smashed potatoes. Oh my. Best potato in Kenosha. If you're at Slip 56 or the Boathouse perhaps you should step up your game.

Yelp
I was with a party of six, all first timers. We all enjoyed our meals. The salmon came recommended and was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and flavorful. The pizza was rustic and enjoyed. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. We will return

Yelp
My sister Camille and I recently utilized Apis for our mother's funeral luncheon. Our experience was incredible. The manager, Ken, was very helpful, kind and genuine. He paid special attention to detail and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were attended to, especially as we were trying to organize the luncheon from out of state. The servers and bartenders who helped us were also lovely. The food and drinks were delicious and the menu has a nice variety. The event room was beautiful as was the bar and restaurant area. The space has high ceilings and a lot of natural light. We are so grateful for the recommendation to use Apis and would use them again and again without hesitation. We cannot thank the entire staff for all your hard work and kindness!

Yelp
I visited the Apis this past weekend when I was in town visiting my old college roommate and they did not disappoint! My mouth is literally watering thinking about the ribs we got! The ambiance and service was superb! We ordered the Sticky Ribs as our main dish which is black Cherry smoked ribs, scallions, sticky rice, sweet sesame slaw & chili oil. I kid you not these were some of the best ribs I have ever had. The flavor in every bite was to die for! For our sides we ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts which had bacon, pecorino, grapefruit & citrus vinaigrette & the Parmesan truffle fries. Last but not least I ordered the espresso martini which was very good! It was my first espresso martini I have ever had so I can't tell you if it was the best but it was delicious!

Yelp
The Apis is one of the best locations downtown. The hotel is amazing (stayed there for my wedding weekend), the whole place is decorated beautifully, the food is delicious and the drinks are even better! We love going here for our occasional date nights and sitting at the bar. We have recently deemed Jenna as our favorite bartender and her drinks do not disappoint! She makes the absolute best Martinis and loves whipping up new things!

Yelp
Brought my wife to dinner before the hectic weekend to celebrate Mother's Day with just the two of us. The Apis did not disappoint! We started with the Salad and Mushroom Soup...so delicious. The soup was creamy with a hint of curry. Not too hot and not too mild. I then had the smoked chicken, couscous, and asparagus. My lady had the Ahi Ahi tuna, rice, and asparagus. We were truly happy with the presentation, tastes, and serving size. Thank you Apis for a great date night!

Yelp
Food was ok, a little simple and expensive considering the quality . Service with not timing. But the drinks were good. A lot of flys around.

Yelp
First time at Apis. Really like the bar inside. Very Covid friendly and modern environment. Service was decent. Food was decent too. Nothing to be wow'd over, but it wouldn't stop he from coming again. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was very crispy and good. I would try something else next time Pros: environment Cons: average food

Yelp
Great food, great service. Went there for the 4th of July event and had an absolute blast. Service was accommodating and the ambiance made for a night to remember!

Yelp
First time here! It was amazing in all aspects. Our waitress was friendly, social, knowledgeable, and passionate about the food and all things Apis. The food was extremely unique which is what I always look for. So many flavors and spices different than the norm. Felt the passion behind the chef. I also loved the decor... Kenosha needs more modern places and Apis is it. We loved the roof top as well! Just made it for the sunset. 100% recommend.

Yelp
I was blessed with the opportunity to have a drink served to me by Ricky, this gentleman has provided the best service I have experienced in a long time. The drinks, service and overall camaraderie was a 10/10 and would recommend The Apis to anyone & everyone. Thank you for the great experience and I look forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
First time at Apis. Our friends recommended the restaurant. First impressions are that it has a very cold feel. We sat on the first floor. Primarily tables everywhere. No comfy booths. Wait staff was friendly. Food prices are very expensive. My wife got a small bowl of halibut for 47. Many dinners are above 60. Not too much food for the price. Never really been a fan of the tapas style. Definitely a restaurant that is for some and not for others. Gets quite loud when busy. Wasn't our cup of tea. Spent 130 for 2 people. No drinks, no appetizers. Ouch.

Rod S.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the ambience was relaxing and welcoming. Cory was refreshingly knowledgeable about the menu and was really nice and accommodating! We definitely plan to be back!

Josh W.

Yelp
Came in for a drink and was greeted by the nicest hostess who sat me at the bar. Then was give a drink menu that had a lot of good options including a bartenders choice which I ordered and Jenna made me up the best drink followed by other ones each better then the previous. It is now my go to for a casual night out to racoon amazing cocktail and good conversation!!!

Yelp
I always enjoy the elevated food at this restaurant! A great place to have something a little different, prepared by a creative chef. Great place to celebrate surrounded by slightly trendy clean lines and attentive but not overbearing service.

Yelp
Our friends had been wanting to try Apus for a while, so when we came down to visit we decided to try it out. It was a great choice. Everything was delicious. My husband has an egg allergy but I wanted him to be able to try my smashburger, so asked for sauce on the side and the sourdough instead of the brioche bun. It worked out wonderfully. The frittes were so perfect. I normally add pepper to my fries, but didn't need to add anything. My hubs got the birria, and it was very well done. Now I want to use short ribs in my own... Both cocktails we tried were good but their copa cabana (I think it was called) was the winner for both of us. We look forward to another go round in the future.

Yelp
Love the brunch and drinks. This herbivore omelet was amazing with the mix of mushrooms peppers and onions! The potatoes are definitely my favorite part of this meal. The dinner options are a little too obscure. I love the fries and breads, but most of the stuff I'm too scared to try with the minimal items I even know how to read. The ambiance is by far my favorite with the black and white aesthetic and the classic look. The service is great. Sara is the bomb. At times, it can be slow but it's still one of the classiest places in kenosha! Check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was four stars but between the ambience and the poor timing on the service this brought it down to three. It is a wide-open white and sterile looking place. It was also quite cold in there with a big breeze coming down on our heads that you couldn't get away from anywhere at our table. The menu was interesting but not really wow. There were five of us at the table and when we ordered one would expect that salads would come out before hot dishes but it wasn't that way. It kind of ruined the evening because the salads were not as good as some of the entrees. Cocktails were tasty. If in downtown Kenosha I guess I'd give it another try but I would make sure the server knew to bring out any cold dishes before any warm dishes. We had the pretzel bites with the jalapeño fondue which was very creamy and not too spicy, a flatbread with Spanish style chorizo which was good but a little burnt on the edges and needed a little more flavor. It seemed like it just had a lot of greens on it and very few flavorful components. The spinach phyllo appetizer was light and crispy but again felt like it needed more filling or more flavor. The shrimp with Israeli couscous was very good. I only wish the couscous would've been a little warmer, the 3 big shrimp were flavorful and well cooked with a nice grill note on them. There were three slices of Spanish chorizo included which added some flavor. The slider trio was very good with a nice brioche bun, caramelized onions and a very tasty brisket patty. The birria (goat) tacos were probably the best thing with it all night, very flavorful filling, nice corn tortillas and a little extra grease which always helps in the flavor department! The roasted squash salad was a real disappointment. The squash pieces were clunky, not caramelized and too firm. They needed a lot more time in the oven to develop more sweetness and soften some. There were a couple pieces of calymyra figs which were good but also felt too heavy. We got the salads after all of the hot entrées which was very strange and since it wasn't as good as other dishes was a downer. A salmon tartare was good but very, very average - nothing to bring it into interesting territory. We had two desserts a chocolate banana mousse with some sort of crumble which was quite buttery and a dark chocolate fudge cake with bacon caramel popcorn. That popcorn is the bomb, they should offer that as an appetizer maybe with a little hot sauce for dipping.

Yelp
Had another wonderful brunch at the Apis! Definitely the best place for brunch in Kenosha! The California Benedict is amazing, hollandaise is spot on! Biscuits and Gravy is probably the best I've ever had, can't go wrong. Great service and great food!

Yelp
Thanks for an outstanding Easter brunch! Food and service were excellent! First time here, just looking for a nice Easter meal, and we got it!

Yelp
The atmosphere is very inviting. The truffle fries and chicken sandwich was top tier. The drinks are amazing. I love the rooftop at night on cool fall/winter night, it's super cozy and warm.

Yelp
This is the kind of place I have been craving since moving out of Chicago. It brings a big city vibe to a smaller city, but leaves you wanting more. Their atmosphere is inviting and is perfect for a casual night out with the girls, an experience to share with close friends and a wonderful spot for an intimate first date. The service is on point and your drinks are never left empty for any length of time. The drinks they serve are absolutely delicious and the non-alcoholic drinks are a huge hit that includes everyone in your group. The portions are small, so if you're with a group and something sounds delicious I would order 2-3 of that order to share. We always put an order for new items when our current items arrived at the table so we were constantly rotating plates and eating throughout the 2 hour experience. I've included photos of some of our food. Some photos are from another time we've come. They have a rotating menu, so some of the dishes in this review will no longer be available but that's just to make room for even more delicious food for your table. If you try it - let me know what your favorite dish was. I highly recommend this place and the summer rooftop gives a killer view if you're looking for a fun place for drinks and sunny views.

Yelp
Love the brunch menu! Craft cocktails for breakfast = winning! Awesome contemporary atmosphere.

Yelp
This place is always amazing and consistent. It's my go to in Kenosha. Ever changing menu always good

Yelp
What a refreshing new spot in downtown Kenosha! My friend and I enjoyed their soft opening this evening. I'm so happy I checked it out. The crisp & stylish atmosphere was quite apparent as I walked in. The sleek marble bar, black & white color palette and no artwork or window treatments were clearly the backdrop for the beautiful cuisine. Magic is certainly happening in that kitchen! The two level dining area and the rooftop deck offer diverse seating options to enjoy your evening. We tried several things and loved every interesting bite. I'm looking forward to returning soon to explore the menu further. Our server Brody was incredible. He was warm and personable yet attentive and professional. Of course we had questions and he had the answers. A strong server can really make a positive experience. I'm so happy this beautiful restaurant has opened, giving us all a chance to enjoy deliciously creative cuisine.

V A.

Yelp
Excellent food! Excellent service! Drinks were unique and awesome with cool nonalcoholic versions too. Great for date night
google avatar

Yelp
Phenomenal food, drinks, and service. Elevated wining and dining at its best; in addition to their cutting-edge recipes and techniques, the chef gets farm-fresh ingredients so that every part of one's dining experience is maximized. Gonna limit my word count on this one and instead share some pictures to try to do The Apis justice. We'll be back again and again, thank you for what you do!

Yelp
I've only been for brunch, but I can't wait to try dinner menu. The food is delicious and refine. The decor is beautiful and it feels very cozy. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Loved it!

Shania W.

Yelp
Food on the rooftop was stale and overall dry. The server seemed overwhelmed and did not serve us properly.

Jon A.

Yelp
Had a party of 5 and celebrating our daughter's birthday which was made known to the server by stating, "Let the birthday girl order first". Other than taking her order first there was no other acknowledgement of her birthday. Probably the best crisscross fries I have ever eaten were under the wings, which were very good also. The chicken sandwich with the kimchi was crispy and full of flavor. The pork chop was tender juicy and had exceptional flavor. The curry with basmati rice was good. The one disappointment was the Beer Mac and Cheese which was dry and totally forgettable. The pasta in it was cooked well but the cheese sauce was just not there. Everyone had cocktails and I had a beer. The cocktails got rave reviews. At the end of dinner I asked for a coffee drink menu, what I got was a list of expresso, Americano, latte and similar plain coffee items. Maybe I should have been more specific and asked for a coffee cocktail menu. This is Wisconsin, it's cold, a good Spanish, Irish, Nutty Irishman would have capped off the night before heading out to the frigid air. Overall very tasty food and nice atmosphere. Service and offerings have room for improvement

Yelp
Went to the roof top bar, unique drinks menu, For a Saturday night the service was excellent. Has great view of Kenosha and Lake Michigan.

Yelp
Honestly, one of the best meals I've ever had. Beautiful, modern interior, but no requirement to dress up. Food is served tapas style, but nice sized portions. We had the Whipped Ricotta with Smoked Strawberries, Grilled Olives, Gem Lettuce Salad with Japanese eggplant and grilled squash, Short Rib Sliders, and the Scallops. Everything was incredible. The only warning is the scallops are quite spicy; still delicious, just be warned. The cocktails were superb, particularly the Copra Cabana. The dessert... Mango Sticky Rice Arancini... was unlike anything I've ever had. Perfect cappuccino. Cody took incredible care of us from start to finish. We cannot wait to come back here. I dare you to find a better restaurant in Wisconsin!
google avatar

Yelp
Did the chef's table for our anniversary... Was Awesome. We will DEFINITELY be coming back. Service was awesome. I believe it was Tyler, Everytime we ate something we had fresh silverware and anytime we got up he refolded or replaced our linen. Drinks were refilled without asking. Being able to talk to the staff while we ate was something we looked forward too. The menu changes monthly for the chef's table, can't wait to try it again. I left out the main course of the lamb loin, was the only picture that didn't come out but was the best dish.

Yelp
We have dined here many times in the past and all of those experiences have been a 5 star event for us. Last night's however was not. The service, drinks, and food were all still very good, our issue was with one dish only that when served was not as described on the menu. It was to be our shared salad dish, when it was presented my wife immediately noticed it had brussel sprouts on it. She hates brussel sprouts! I however love them so I ate the entire dish. We asked our waiter about this and he apologized. We then asked if he could have the kitchen make my wife a simple salad containg select ingredients from the dish I just ate. He headed to the kitchen and returned shortly to tell us that would not be possible. It seems the staff in the kitchen was not capable of this simple task. We spent just a tad over $140 after tax and tip for a party of two.

Noreen C.

Yelp
AWESOME!!!! A BIG shout out to Vi our ADORABLE, KNOWLEDGABLE AND SUPER ATTENTIVE SERVER! Thank you Vi for making our meal an excellent one last night (8/6). The food ....WOW! Can you say, brilliantly creative with the special touches that were surprises. such as the honeycomb and huge capers on the Chef Board. Also we had the Spring Primavera...OMG! So yummy that I haven't savored a dish like this in a long time! The cake dessert was unbelievably yum! So glad they have this "shared" concept! Makes it much more dining pleasant! We will be back!

Anne K.

Yelp
Hello. Ordered cocktail and coffee. Delicious. Waited 45 minutes for breakfast. 2 omelets, nothing complicated, had to asked for coffee refill, two waiters said would check on our meal...nothing. I'm very patience when it comes to restaurants but 45 minutes was ridiculous. Left cash for our drinks on the table and left. Will I return....?

Christine K.

Yelp
I love how creative they are with different events. I celebrated my 25th work Anniversary here and it was amazing. The entire experience was amazing. Highly recommend for a night out or for a large event.

Yelp
Overall Grade C+ I have to say I was disappointed with our dinner at Apis July 21, 2022. The service was polite however our server did not know the menu items well. In particular, our server was not able to explain the Charcuterie Board which happens to be a featured item on the menu. The Charcuterie Board was just ok. The cheeses were delish however Guanciale was all fat - not edible. Our dinner items were fine. The burger was good - probably the best item we had that night. The chicken sandwich was unique and delicious however 1/2 of the sandwich was all bun. Big complaint was our fries were totally over salted. We did let our server know of our concerns. No action was taken by the server or chef or manager to rectify our concerns. Downtown Kenosha has a lot to offer and Apis has the potential to be awesome. Just not there this time. And, unfortunately our last visit before this visit was much better.

Nancy L.

Yelp
Great service, and they were happy to substitute a gluten-free alternative to the pita chips with their Summer Mezze platter. The crispy cauliflower flatbread they provided was perfect with the hummus, olive tapenade, and other delicious goodies on the platter. Definitely recommend!
