It’s old! But it was one of the remaining restaurants from early Memphis days. We had the breakfast, better or as good as any place! The biscuit and gravy were perfect! And the grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich that Elvis went there to eat was liked by all 5 of us as we cut it into portions! It definitely worth the time and comparative cost to eat there, but go before 3pm or it’ll be closed!

Save up your calories for the week for these breakfast staples that have been elevated to the next level! Located in the heart of downtown, stepping into Arcade Cafe feels like a nostalgic journey back to the 1950s. The charming diner atmosphere sets the stage for a delightful breakfast experience. One standout dish that captured my taste buds was the French toast. The perfectly cooked slices were a delightful blend and crispy and sweet, making it worth the early morning venture. Each bite was a burst of warm, comforting flavors that left me craving for more. Another highlight on the menu was the sweet potato pancakes. The unique twist on this classic breakfast item added a delightful sweetness that lingered long after the last bite. The aftertaste was truly unforgettable, making these pancakes a must-try for anyone visiting Arcade Cafe. Overall, I highly recommend starting your day with breakfast at Arcade Cafe. The delicious food, cozy ambiance, and friendly service create a welcoming environment that will leave you satisfied and eager to return. It's a culinary experience that you won't soon forget.

We spend a couple days in Memphis every June going to the Memphis Quartet Show and try to enjoy a few new places and old favorites while in the area. This was new to us this year but definitely not new to Memphis and we can’t wait to go back! It had all the charm of a classic diner/cafe that only time and a love for the city it was blessed to be established in can perfect. We found free parking for those choosing the restaurant or arcade businesses chose great breakfast options along with a good cup of coffee (what’s local cafe without coffee.)

Google
Food was decent as well as the price. The history of the place is what was most attractive. The restaurant is very dated with old worn tables. The gift shop was only a few items in a case behind the register. The staff was friendly.

Google
I LOVE this place. No wonder Elvis ate here. Very unique menu items here. I had the Memphis thang sandwich, it was delicious especially with the crispy fries that were cooked to perfection and very hot. Also had the Greek avocado toast. Everything was delicious.

Stopped in for lunch on my way through Memphis. Great service and good food (I got the bacon cheeseburger -- juicy and delicious). Feels like stepping back to a simpler time when you walk in the door. If I'm ever in Memphis again, I will definitely be back.

Google
Really cool old diner, with plenty of its original charm remaining. The interior is little changed since the 1950s. The food is good & unpretentious. I had a BLT, which was great. Lots of crisp bacon & fresh lettuce. You can also get alcoholic beverages, which is nice & welcome.

Google
One of Elvis’ favourite eating spots, had his favourite dish, the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich, should be fine for vegans! They also had avocado toast which without the feta was vegan. They do oat milk which was great for our coffees and teas. Definitely recommend, and don’t forget the Elvis booth! Vegan Elvis fans, look no further

Yelp
With all of the "for lease" signs on shop doors on South Main right now, I'm so happy to see the oldest diner in Memphis is still open! The restaurant is very cute inside! The staff were incredibly sweet. Our food came out quickly. The food itself was pretty good. They had a lot more options than I thought a diner would. They had mimosas. - We did a "build your own" carafe. They also had good coffee! It wasn't your typical diner coffee. They have a little coffee bar, and the coffee was gooood. My sister got the sweet potato pancakes, which I think I ended up eating the most of. They didn't even need syrup! I got the breakfast pizza, which was ok. My mom got biscuits and gravy which was a little bland, but not bad. Overall, this place was pretty good.

Jaimie D.

Yelp
The oldest cafe in Memphis did NOT disappoint. Honestly the pictures don't do them justice. It's SOOOO good! The building itself has so much character. They have lots of seating throughout the two different seating areas. The food is FANTASTIC! In my humble opinion, it's easy to make good breakfast food but they have special flare and flavors details that make them extra tasty. They sauté their veggies before they put them in the omelets. "Famous" Sweet potato pancakes are slightly sweet with perfect cinnamon blend and great balance of moist and cakey. Waitress staff and hostesses were all super sweet and friendly. It feels like a small town diner where everyone knows your name and the locals are like family. We enjoyed the sweet potato stack, breakfast pizza, eggs to ways and egg white scramble. They also have a coffee and alcohol bar available. We had lattes with our breakfast and mimosas following. We enjoyed yourselves and would definitely recommend for a breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
I do NOT recommend this place after my experience. Save your time and money. Terrible service. The servers are beyond rude. I had my toddler and elderly mother with me, we were wanting to grab some lunch. The only table was up front, by the bar. The bartender had 0 customers and she was literally counting caps on the liquor bottles. We ask if we could order with her and she gets a nasty attitude, number 1 red flag. Second we see a server waking over to the coffee girl? And we ask if she is our waitress (we were not greeted by anyone). She also has an attitude and says our server is in the back on a 15 top. We had a boat tour at 2 so we just asked if it was possible to get our food in an hour and she says, no. It was just the attitude that was gross. So, I said it would be really nice to be greeted by someone and it made her so mad she kicked the chair after we got up. I don't know how this place stays in business with people like that. Some people are just sitting around doing nothing and other people were super busy , no teamwork whatsoever and nasty attitudes. By seeing the reviews this seems pretty consistent here. Obviously, we left immediately and will never be back.

Rebecca G.

Yelp
One of our trolley drivers pointed this place out to us so we decided to go here the next day and boy were we happy we did! We love local diners, especially ones with history. The Arcade has been around since 1919. The food is good and reasonably priced. I had the sweet potato pancakes and bacon, delicious! My hubs got the breakfast sampler. He loved the french toast so much I think he would have preferred to get just the french toast. Service is excellent. The people here are working hard. 4th generation is running the place so I am sure they take pride in their business. Definitely hit this place up if you are in town as you will not be disappointed!

Michael M.

Yelp
Alright, let's be honest with ourselves, the food here is okay, but no one is coming for the food. It's the history of the place that brings people in, hell that's what brought us in... Unfortunately that history means the staff is more focused on the gift shop / merch side than on the food that started them out. Eggs requested over easy were definitely not, fried PB sandwich was soft and greasy, coffee was cold, but now I can say I've had Elvis' favorite sandwich at a place that used to serve it to him. Yay me?!

Dawn E.

Yelp
The restaurant is very historic and the oldest restaurant in Memphis, food was delicious and the prices where excellent. The decor is set back from the 50's with some of the original furnishings and flooring still there , the offer souvenirs at the inside gift shop . Server had a lot of knowledge of the menu . I will definitely be back ,

Lacey A.

Yelp
Service so good. The ladies there really know their menu and have great recommendations. Gotta get a short they come in all these vibrant colors. I should have got the biscuits or the French toast but I wasn't in a breakfast mood. The Memphis Thang had good flavor with a nice thick of Turkey meat. Very feeling with various options on the side: salad, fries, potato salad. Cozy and antique vibes

Amber L.

Yelp
This was some of thee worst service I had in Memphis but the atmosphere and food made up for it. Visited on a Thursday before 1pm. My server appeared to be working both restaurants (not sure if the restaurant next door has a separate name but the two are connected via a walkway at the rear of Arcade). She would disappear for long stretches. I would see other servers passing by and they would say "ok" to my requests and never come back. I was unattended most of my time there. One example of a few: I had to ask for another coffee because the one I received, I couldn't get *anyone* to bring me a spoon/utensils or sugar to put in the coffee my server quickly dumped on the table then flew away. It was actually cold by the time she finally returned to the table to take my food order. The service was a huge letdown to the point I wanted to leave. But this is a landmark, the oldest cafe in the city. So I stuck it out and glad I did. That breakfast was delicious! The fried french toast? Frying it gives it like a beignet flavor. Whyyyy did I only order the sampler that came with one lil small piece??? Don't make the mistake I did - just order the whole plate of fried french toast on the side of whatever entree you're getting. It's soooo good! The sausage patty and strip of bacon went a long way, surprisingly. The perfect salty sidekicks to the sweet french toast (!!) and buttermilk pancake, all accompanied by cloud-fluffy scrambled eggs and buttery hashbrowns. It was certainly one of the most satisfying breakfasts I had while visiting the city. It's a shame that the service was so bad because I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant. I feel like if it was busy, the service would have been better. So maybe it's better to go during peak hours. Reasonable prices for it to be a touristy spot. Parking lot (I think - at least I didn't get towed) around back. Right next to a trolley station.

Bri K.

Yelp
From the outside it looks like a tourist trap, but inside it's not. We came after the rush on a Sunday, and we were able to get a table right away. Our server seemed good, but tried and ready to leave. BLT wasn't great. Kids Cheeseburger was ok but the fries were good. Grilled chicken with Pepperjack cheese was good. The Sweet potato pancakes were fluffy and flavorful! Drinks, Blackberry Lemonade and the Chocoholic shake were alcoholic and standard. The beignets were sweet, fluffy, and heavenly. This was a fun restaurant but there is no arcade!

Spencer H.

Yelp
Iconic spot that I wasn't able to get into each other time I've been in town. It's one of Memphis' "Must Go!" Kinda spots! I've always been told that "it's Elvis' favorite restaurant" so you know it's gotta be good! And it was good! Solid on the basics for breakfast & it was very good, well prepared food. Good coffee. One side is the old original restaurant with a period appropriate diner bar for seating, booths & tables. Nostalgia exudes. The next door space they've expanded into is very nice! Modern. Two bars - one liquor, one coffee. Love the huge variety photos of Memphis old days. But today the service completely missed us. We sat on the new side, "please sit where you like" not very crowded at all. Immediately greeted & given menu's, water, coffee & cream. She was awesome! Friendly & kind. Then we sat FOREVA!!! Literally a laughable length of time. Watching her clean probably ten tables flawlessly. She was SOOOO focused on cleaning she never looked up at her customers one time! Not one time making eye contact or noticing we were staring a hole in her for over 35 min. So we just laughed & waited until someone noticed we were just sitting there watching the place fill around us while taking their orders & bringing their food. Normally I'd of walked 15 min into the eternal wait. Finally another server walked close enough that she side eyed me & I put my arms out like "WTH?!?!" She stopped. We asked politely "We'd like to order but our server hasn't noticed." She hesitated for a second & jumped right in & took our order & apologized. Original server still cleaning like a mad woman - quite well I might add! But still hadn't even acknowledged us again. Then waited another 40 minutes while folks who came in 20 minutes behind us were served. It's obvious to me now each server thought the other had our table. Finally the gal who took our ordered noticed us again, I gave the same expression - she went to check on our food. Then our original server noticed! "I'm going to go check on your order!" Absolutely no attention from our original server until over an hour sitting in the middle of the dining room. As a server in my college days - here's her tip - NEVER STOP LOOKING OVER THE DINING ROOM FLOOR & notice your customers! LOOK FOR SOMEONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR SERVICE! It directly reflects in your income & your reviews. You just had a local/regular & his visiting Dad who just waited a ridiculous amount of time & spent $32 for breakfast. Be better.

Christy S.

Yelp
So disappointed. In Memphis on vacation and picked this historic spot for breakfast. Bad decision. Everything tasted old, cold and gross. Ordered the Arcade Breakfast Sampler and nothing was warm or fresh. Our waitress never came back and asked if it was ok. So we just picked at it and ran. The Bloody Mary was ok and the side order of white toast was "fine". Cold and no butter but we ate it. My friend's Americano was murky like the bottom of a swamp. Tons of people working here, all snacking and talking. ‍ Don't be fooled. Eat anywhere else.

Evelyn M.

Yelp
The most awful experience. We came in for our reservations at 9am and requested to sit in the Elvis booth. We knew we had to wait because it is obviously a popular tourist attraction but we had to wait over an hour to be seated because there was a gentleman just sitting there playing on his phone. I believe that you can avoid this issue by informing patrons that if you sit and the booth you have a limited time in the booth so others can enjoy it too. In many restaurants they give you a time limit on your table but they refuse to do that at arcade. After asking to speak to the manager she had the gentle close out so we can sit at the booth. I appreciated what she did so we could sit there after waiting for so long. I was excited to try the breakfast at the arcade but it o my surprise the food was awful. The coffee and the food came out cold. The sausages were burnt. I couldn't even eat the eggs. I'm surprised you can mess up breakfast food that bad.

Cindari M.

Yelp
You are coming here for the nostalgia. Not necessarily the food. We were seated immediately even though they were crowded. Our waitress was very nice, took our drink and food orders and then it was over an hour and a half wait for our food. People sat well after us were eating before we were. Not sure what happened. One of our plates of food was given to someone else so they had to remake it all. The other was a burger that was so dry because it sat just drying out under the heat lamp/counter. Would I eat here again? No. We didn't take pics of our food because we were starving at that point and didn't want to wait any longer. Got to see the seat Elvis sat in- that's about the highlight.

Lydia J.

Yelp
My husband and I just went to the Arcade Restaurant for breakfast. It looked like a cute place, but the food was awful... my husband's eggs were not cooked properly (absolutely repulsive), the gravy seemed like it was from a can and the fried chicken was just chicken tenders (probably frozen from a bag). My breakfast pizza was mediocre at best.. the pizza crust seemed like it was from the store bought section. The pizza had marinara on it not gravy (which is normally on a breakfast pizza). Also the avocado slices tasted like orange juice. The service was left to be desired.. I'm not really sure why this place has such high reviews, but we did not like it at all. Worst breakfast I've had in a long time..

Ingrid H.

Yelp
We were really looking forward to eating at the oldest cafe in Memphis and what a disappointment! I really don't want to write such a horrible review, but feel it's necessary and important to warn diners before dining here. Let's start with the hostess service. We were welcomed with smiles and southern hospitality. Much appreciated and welcomed. Things pretty much went downhill from there. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food and when it arrived our food was cold, as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for quite some time. My hash browns were cold and stale, eggs were cold, and biscuits were doughy and undercooked. I sent my food back to the kitchen and one would think that getting my food back out would be a priority, but I waited another 25 minutes. At that point, I told our server that they could cancel my order and remove my order from our tab. The server asked if she could at least box it up and I accepted her offer. Not much changed. My boxed up food was cold, hash browns were terrible, and the only items I could eat were the two biscuits. My friend's bowl with hash browns and eggs was cold and the melted processed cheese squares on top was literally atrocious. Why not purchase and use shredded cheese? The server offered to bring salsa and said it would help with the taste. Yep, basically acknowledging the food was not great. But my friend never received the salsa. We were essentially ignored. This restaurant has so much potential. There's plenty of dining space, the local history is interesting and fascinating, and there's some revitalization of downtown Memphis in the works. Hopefully the owner and management will take the necessary steps to improve their customers' experience.

Roy B.

Yelp
Place looked dirty inside. Food was just okay. Had to pay to park. Would not go back Living on their past reputation in my opinion

Ingrid R.

Yelp
The service was good. The ambiance was nice. The food was bad. The food was burnt, dry, overcooked and BLAND! The beignets were oil logged, hard and overcooked with way too much powered sugar. Never get the breakfast pizza it was horrible. Table of six and no one was satisfied. The fries were oily limp and dirty grease looking. Sent them back, everything went back. Tons of food was left on everyone's plate in the restaurant loaded with uneaten food and no to go plates. All I kept hearing were complaints from the customers. Never!

Angela F.

Yelp
Total embarrassment! Took visiting family there to eat last weekend. We were literally pushing mice/rats away from our table. They were running around like it was a play area. Hair in the bacon on our sandwich and just plain nasty! French fries were the only eatable item but you were on guard the whole time! GROSS!!!

Caleb J.

Yelp
Food all tasted store bought, fried chicken was frozen chicken tenders, over easy eggs had so much uncooked egg whites they were unsafe to eat. Idk how you mess up breakfast food but this place does it.

Cam C.

Yelp
We came to the restaurant during a busy busy holiday Sunday!!! We were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait. We got seated in ten mins. Hostesses were awesome and our waitress was super awesome! We had mimosas and food. I thought it was delicious. My only complaint was my Buffalo chicken was cold not heated. The sweet potato pancake was a dessert!!! So good!!! Don't miss this one y'all!!!!

De'Laka B.

Yelp
If you want a good old fashioned breakfast, this is the spot. My mother in law, wife and I enjoyed some quiet time before everyone left Memphis and headed home. We ordered biscuits and gravy, sampler plates of sausage bacon pancakes, French toast and hash browns. Delicious food. The 50s diner vibe is cool for downtown. Would eat there again.

Andrea A.

Yelp
Ambiance was terrible, food was ok but nothing espectacular. We went during the winter so maybe that was a factor. Also there was a lot of construction work around the location

Holly M.

Yelp
We went mostly for the historical reason but hoped for a decent diner meal. We made reservations but showed up a bit early and were able to be seated. Unfortunately it was a very small high top right next to the walk way between the two sides. Makes eating feel chaotic. Staff: our waitress was friendly and decent. The young girl seating guests didn't seem to know what she was doing but maybe I don't understand their methods. Ha! Cleanliness: typical greasy diner, place needs to be cleaned up and preserved better. Bottles of condiments were sticky and the one ketchup bottle fizzled when I opened it and bubbled. Might be time to change out the 1950's bottles for some new ones. Food: my husband ordered the famous grilled peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich. He said there was very little peanut butter...said it was just ok. The sides options to go with it were fries, chili and something else I can't remember. He got the chili and said it was just ok. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with the assumption he would want half if he didn't like his sandwich. It was a decent diner burger. The fries were good. Go for the history behind it but have lower to medium expectations on your food.

Christy P.

Yelp
Always looked forward to going to the Arcade growing up. Moved to downtown Memphis about 5 years ago and was thrilled to have the Arcade around the corner. Tried three times and all were terrible experiences. Bad service, bad food, and charges a lot! I am so sad to see this place go to what it has. Sorry Arcade but you have to do better!

Lindsey B.

Yelp
We liked it. I don't care what others may say about this place, but it did give us a lot of memories during our visit! We stopped in for breakfast. That's all they said. Breakfast and some epic sandwich eating, along with a dose of cheese fries. We were one table away from the famous eating spot.. Elvis' of course. We had an attentive server, very knowledgeable of her home town too. We will be back.. we enjoyed the ambiance, sweet people greetings and that slippery floor!!!

Kien H.

Yelp
This is a decent spot to go to if you are out and about. It gives a diner type of vibe. We sat at the bar in the second room, and had great customer service. Ordered a couple of rounds of breakfast shots. Which tasted great. Then we had a couple more shots. I had the coffee drink that they have on the menu, and it was great. The French toast, deep fried french toast, was great as well. Everything was good. It gave an old Diner Vibe so you know exactly what you're getting. So it was nothing spectacular, but it was all just solid food.

Liz H.

Yelp
This place definitely has the old time charm. However, sadly, the food was only ok not great. We were there a few times Jan '24 and some overcooked and not very hot. When it was busy it took a very long time to get service and food.

Katie N.

Yelp
Cute place, but to me the wait did not match the quality of the food. I felt my food was sort of cold. The breakfast sampler was ok. The bloody Mary was delicious. It was probably one of the best parts of the meal.

Loren R.

Yelp
700+ Reviews ... I don't know what more to say. The Arcade is a Memphis staple -one of our oldest restaurants! There is always a mix of long-time customers & visitors to our great city. For me, the Arcade is a nice breakfast spot. Yes, they have many items, from sandwiches to pizza to cocktails! I've been personally disappointed with some of these items, but their breakfast is still on point! My go-to (for many, many years) is their #7 PICK-5 OMLETE. (Okay: Sometimes I pick 6! LOL!) It comes with sides -like Hashbrowns, Biscuits & gravy, etc. I've tried to simply order the omelet alone, but they won't let me! LOL! I feel (my opinion) that my portions are bigger when I dine-in compared to call in (e.g. portion size of hashbrowns). Ample parking -street & private parking lot in back. People there are always friendly & yes, it's a historic place! Hope you enjoy it too!

Odis B.

Yelp
It's been at least 40 since the last time I visited The Arcade Restaurant and nothing has changed except technology. The food is still great and plentiful!!! If you are in downtown Memphis, stop by and enjoy a meal!!!

Amy M.

Yelp
Iconic restaurant, decent food. My husband tried the fried French toast and found it to be too oily. Biscuits were good, but the hash browns lacked seasoning. You go to this place not for stellar food, but for good service and a nostalgic vibe.

Bristole W.

Yelp
Came because of all the hype and we were tourist. Service was good, friendly staff. Food was just ok. We ordered and our food came out so fast, within 5 minutes, it was suspicious. I ordered French toast, over easy eggs, hashbrowns and sausage. It was all cold! For coming out so fast everything should have been steaming. The French toast was good but it would have been better hot. (I'm someone who refuses to send food back bc I don't trust revenge won't happen. So my cold breakfast was mediocre. Husband food was lukewarm. This led us to believe they pre cook a lot and just have it sitting. Enjoyed the 50s diner feel and cool to see where Elvis sat. Most likely will not return.

Amanda S.

Yelp
We ended our Memphis trip with breakfast at Arcade before leaving Monday morning and it couldn't have worked out better! We walked right in, no wait and the restaurant was not busy. This was great because: 1. Our food came out fast! 2. We could take everything in and check out the diner! We all had basic breakfast items like bacon, egg and cheese sando and French toast. Food is pretty good but let's be real, visiting Arcade is more for the historical experience than the food.

Betty B.

Yelp
this was recommended by AAA by the Peabody hotel, and by every guidebook that we read. Breakfast was so disappointing! The food took forever to come, when it did, it was lukewarm. i ordered chese grits. the cheese on the cheese grits was so preserved and stale that it never melted and it was like straw in the grits. The grits were clearly made with water and were the blandest grits I've had, the veggie sandwich was greasy and stingy with ingredients. The portions were minimal. The grilled onions on my son sandwich were raw. Nothing was served hot not even the coffee. All in all it was thoroughly disappointing, and a disappointment that we felt for the rest of the day because the food sat like a bomb in our belly, please go look at the ambience, but beware eating the food

Cedric B.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for 10 minutes without being acknowledged. Then a regular came and sat next to me at the bar and was acknowledged immediately. I walked out and plan to never return.

James N.

Yelp
Of course you have to come here while in Memphis...it was Elvis' favorite restaurant (or so they say). They even have a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich on the menu! Total diner experience with burgers, soups, and breakfast served all day. Be patient because there is usually a wait because it's worth it. Friendly servers and you won't leave hungry! Enjoy.

Svetlana S.

Yelp
We did order the peanut butter banana sandwich with bacon . And it was good !!! I read few comments before and I disagree! It was good !!!!

Tiffany R.

Yelp
Nostalgia yes. I've lived in Memphis several years and finally was downtown on a day for breakfast. I was excited, but whoa. I don't think I have ever been to a dirtier place to eat. We were told to seat ourselves. All three tables we tried sitting at were clean but had stuff stuck to the tables. I was trying to be a good sport for my husband but I would hate to see the kitchen when the dining room was such a wreck. The hasbrowns were cold and gross. Pancakes were pretty good though. One and done. And hope for this icon's sake they get some good management and make this place shine!

Charlie L.

Yelp
Huge breakfasts all tasty and served by people who could easily be relatives! No grits though for southerners...

Sara L.

Yelp
Conveniently located right outside of the National Civil Rights Museum, we stopped by for lunch. It wasn't too busy and everyone was very friendly inside. When my "grilled cheese deluxe" arrived with bacon that I had asked to not be included, a replacement was delivered a few minutes later and it was delicious. We did not sit in "The Elvis Booth" but they kindly let me take a picture of it once the people sitting there moved. A fun and delicious experience!

Kristeena J.

Yelp
Saw the bad reviews but decided to still try this historic spot. Came for breakfast on a Monday. Service was quick and fine. My omelet was pretty good but hash browns were cold and stale. My husband got pancakes and thought the sweet potato pancake was better than the regular. Food was kind of sub par in general.

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Considering the history behind the Arcade restaurant, I was super excited to eat here. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the food I got because it wasn't good at all. The food honesty didn't have any flavor in it. There was over an hour wait for waiting for our food. The coffee was one of the worst coffees I have drank in my life, it tasted like dirt water. I loved the history part of the restaurant and that was about it. Cool to take some photos of and eat somewhere else.

Katie M.

Yelp
We ate here before visiting the Civil Rights Museum. Great little place to get breakfast! We loved the old diner feel and loved the history of the building. Parking is available around the restaurant. We were there by 7:30am because I heard they can get busy and service can be slow. We didn't have any issues early in the morning.

Don M.

Yelp
Really was looking to this place but the service sucked! Waited almost a hour for our food which came out cold. Guess the waitress left and didn't tell anyone to serve our order. It wasn't too busy so no reason why it would take so long! Food was ok considering it was room temperature.

Daniel G.

Yelp
Great food , great service a real southern hospitality at it's finest :-) Locals plus tourist seem to hang out at this eatery and for good reason too. Portion sizes were great and the free refills kept us going all day!

Kyle B.

Yelp
It's okay. Nothing ground shaking with the food. Its really just to say you ate the same place that Elvis did.... idk

Craig W.

Yelp
I know it's fashionable to hate on this place but our breakfast was good. We got a ton of food and the prices were decent. It wasn't amazing but it was mostly good. Our server was great. She was friendly and speedy. The country ham with eggs, biscuits and gravy, and grits was a mountain of calories. The ham was a little tough but the flavor was absolutely delicious. The biscuits and gravy were very good. The grits? Tasteless. I'm sure they were from a packet. Get the hash browns instead. Good luck getting the Elvis booth. It's very popular and you probably won't get it. No big deal. This isn't fine dining, folks. Keep your expectations in check and you'll get a lot of pretty good food at reasonable prices. Just don't get the grits.

Yelp
Had brunch here 5/21/24. Ordered bacon burger and Redneck fried chicken breakfast which was good. Service was good and it was clean. Elvis frequently ate here and has a booth dedicated to him. Over all well worth the trip as it is the oldest eatery in Memphis, 1919. Now on 4th? Generation.

Yelp
Clean environment and good service but the food was just simply not that great. Came for breakfast and got the eggs redneck (biscuits and gravy) and everything on the plate was plate and the eggs and hashbrowns were cold. Pretty disappointing for a historical place.

Yelp
Ok... here's the real tea. The food is great. But you need to determine if it is worth the wait. It's taken me 2 visits to write a review because I wanted to be fair. The first visit, I was with a party of 3. We were told our wait would be about 30 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 45 minutes. There was no real system even though we gave the young lady our name, but she was the hostess, the cashier, and in charge of crowd control (basically asking people to go back outside once the entrance got full). So it was difficult for her to manage when tables were open (and thus come outside to get the next party) because she was either constantly ringing up guests who were ready to pay or just seating random, lucky people who just seemed to walk up at the right time. My second visit, I was with a party of 8, and we were actually seated in about 10 minutes. Our service was good. The food was good. And the prices were good. Also, the restaurant is full of nostalgia. So all and all, my review is based on whether or not you actually get inside and seated in a timely manner.
