The 26 Best Restaurants In Denver 2024

"Yes, this is a steakhouse with perfectly cooked sizzling meats and a clever menu divided into Baller Moves and Normies (guess where the $175 tomahawk falls), but what we can’t get over is the wine “list.” The well-priced bottles are on the wall when you walk in, and you simply grab what you like and take it to your table. Brilliant. The meats come from all over, so you can pick among Argentinian tri-tip with red chimichurri and a side of chorizo, achiote marinated pork ribs, and what could be the best duck confit in town. If you need more intel on the vibe, the tableside martini cart has vintage Playboy magazines on it, so that’s probably all you need to know. " - allyson reedy

Google
Very tiny Argentina style restaurant on Santa Fe . Small menu executed perfectly. I came in an hour before close & ordered the flank steak sandwich. Only one in the restaurant and only the owner it seemed. He directed me to my side sauces and started cooking. At first glance i was questioning myself. Steak looked under-portion. But i dove right in and boy was i wrong. Wedges blanched and cooked to a perfect crisp . Sandwich was amazing. Bread soft and very tasty held every bite. Add the chimmy its also delicious. Again space is small but well kept . Looks clean inside . Very much recommend. Super tasty stuff coming out of this little building

Google
Amazing tasty steak in the steak sandwich, fries and portion were perfect!!

Google
This place is phenomenal. People running the kitchen are really great and made the experience easy and very enjoyable. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. The available sauces were fresh, smelled incredible and tasted even better. We were so blown away by the sandwiches, we ordered some empanadas to go and they were all so delicious we had to go back for more lol.

Google
Good food. The burger is very tasty. Only 2 stars for the atmosphere because the place is small. It doesn't have enough tables for people to sit down and eat at their leisure. We felt we had to eat fast, to allow other people to sit down.

Google
Absolutely amazing! The prices were reasonable, and the burger and empanada were EXACTLY what I had been looking for. The empanada could have been slightly better, as it was clear from the sogginess on the bottom it had been sitting in the display for a while, but the flavores completely made up for it. The burger was extremely well spiced, super salty and delicious! Would highly recommend!

Google
Really wanted to give this a 5 star review, as their food is hot, fresh, and delicious. However, the ratio of meat was too low in my sandwich. Understanding the cost of food is increasing, I would rather pay a few extra dollars for a sandwich than be eating too much bread.

Pablo M. Canseco

Google
Amazing food and friendly owner. I had the flank steak sandwich which came with wedge fries and chimichurri. It was delicious. I can't wait to come back for choripan and milanesa. Thank you!

Jordan Hatch

Google
Nice small joint with a simple menu, but every item is delicious. The people who own and work there are very friendly and run a great restaurant. Will definitely be coming back

Yelp
Delicious, locally owned empanadas and Argentinian favorites! If you're headed to Santa Fe for some antique shopping or art walking, consider factoring a stop at Carne into your visit. You know what they say, though she be but little, she is fierce! The menu only has about 10 items to choose from and for good reason, each one is delicious and filling! I got the steak sandwich and some friends got the empanada trio, two thumbs up all around! I especially loved the house chimichurri. Two things to note for this must try: the interior itself is quite small, so consider ordering for pickup and taking it with you. Additionally, you order at the counter! Definitely try this spot out.

Yelp
Simple menu - so fresh and delicious! We shared the flank steak sandwich. It was so tender and the bread was melt-in-your-mouth good! Our son had a beef empanada. Priced reasonably, very clean, and great service. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Stopped for a quick lunch in between client visits. WOW the sandwiches here are incredible. For. $14, you can get a heavenly steak sandwich and fries with sauces. They also have large empanadas and other bites! The restaurant itself is small with a tiny lot and street parking. There is a bathroom inside and a few small tables. Whether you order in person or on the go, I highly recommend Carne!

Rob L.

Yelp
Great little spot Authentic and good food with only a few items our steak sandwiches were delicious.
google avatar

Jason T.

Yelp
100% authentic to the region. Travel to this area before and have tried the cuisine before it was right on point. The bread was super delicious. Everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend. Also have the empanadas they were OK. I would not give them the five star rating, but they were still delicious. Go with the spicy ground beef and regular ground beef.

Yelp
Small menu. Little option but good!. Clean place. service was very quick. Food looks super fresh! Fries was extra crispy This was my only stop in Denver, and this place was a good choice!

Yelp
Hole in the wall with a limited menu, but everything I've tried has been awesome. Parking is tricky and limited seating.
google avatar

Molly W.

Yelp
Sooo tasty and for a great price! We split the flank steak sandwich, and the empanada trio. The sandwich was so tender and had amazing flavors. There was a station with chimichurri and other condiments which was delicious. I LOVE chimichurri so can never have enough. Only note about the sandwich was that the bread got really soggy on the bottom, which I hate. I ate around it! Next time I would get the plate instead of the sandwich (the same meat). The empanadas were huge and delicious. Each one was different-- beef, chicken, and the third I think was also beef but it had like green olives and other items mixed in as well. I would definitely stop here again! It's a hidden gem! Note that there are only 3 tables inside, so maybe more of a takeout spot?!

Yelp
Small hole in the wall that's is absolutely delicious! I can not say enough great things about this places. One of the best empanadas I've ever had. The dough was airy and flakey. Meat was hot and flavorful. You can taste the love in the food. I can only imagine what the other items on the menu taste like. Service was great and comforting. Very clean. Signed soccer jerseys on the wall. The vibe is amazing. The sauce on the side are out of bounds! Best price point for a meal in the city. MUST have!

Yelp
Yes, a thousand times yes! If you're in the mood for a hearty, affordable meal served by kind, smiling faces in a fast casual setting look no further. My husband, a serious steak aficionado, could not stop raving about the amount of steak on the sandwich. He was very happy with his order. The fries were probably the best I've ever had, as crispy as they come. I ordered the empanada trio, with chicken, beef, and ham. The chicken had a wonderful roasted red pepper flavor and the ham and cheese was my all-time favorite. The creaminess of the cheese paired perfectly with the crisp outer shell and salty ham, and made for the perfect snack. On top of being delicious, their empanadas are HUGE and filled completely! I'd order 1 as a snack, or 2 as a meal. The staff made us feel welcome and cared for, improving the experience even further. I truly cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, such a fabulous experience!

Yelp
Great empanadas and steak sandwich. The fries are fresh and not frozen with the right amount of seasoning. Parking was easy and the prices are very fair

Jesse M.

Yelp
Wow! Wow! Wow! This Sammie is legit! Amazing steak sandwich. Delicious chimichurri and criolla! Highly recommend!!!

Siobhan M.

Yelp
Tasty and reasonably priced though wish veggie options were less expensive than the meat ones. Good portion size. Do wish there were more vegetarian options but also appreciate the two that there are, corn and spinach. Wish they used pastry paper to pick up empanadas into box.

Yelp
Unless you are looking you wouldn't notice this place but it's definitely a hidden gem. Great food and good prices.

Yelp
By far one of the best places I've ever had the pleasure of eating at!!!!!!! Undeniable best empanada place I've ever been to in Denver. So authentic and as my man likes to say: definitely a place I would spend all my money at happily. The service is genuine, clean and welcoming environment. Very reasonably priced.

B A.

Yelp
This is a no frills place off the main drag of Santa Fe that must have recently changed hands. The Argentos Carne is the business name now. There are 5 items on the menu which are surprisingly expensive but my guess is that they don't do the kind of volume that would enable them to make this more affordable. I chose the flank steak sandwich. It was tender, very flavorful and satisfying. There was a scattering of fries on the side that most people would appreciate that were freshly deep fried from frozen. I was tempted by the idea of an empanada but the offerings were inconsistently prepared and sloppy at that price point to take a chance. The service was very friendly and welcoming. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you but bear in mind, this is a tiny lobby with 4-5 tables so it is functional to the job being performed.

Yelp
Carne is a great find. Don't let the small size fool you, the food here is spectacular. Today I enjoyed the best steak sandwich I've ever eaten: Sandwich de Vacío. The steak was tender and flavorful. The bread was buttery and crisp. And the empanadas? Absolutely amazing. I got the beef but I hear the chicken is equally delicious. Please try Carne! It's worth the trip.

Yelp
We surprised this restaurant with a group of about 15 high schoolers and a few parents right at noon and, not only did the food come out in a very reasonable time, but it was all excellent. The people in our group had a variety of dishes and everybody raved about it. For most of these kids it was the first time having Argentinian food and even the pickiest of eaters enjoyed their meals. This is now my go-to place to eat when visiting the Santa Fe Art District.
google avatar

Angel N.

Yelp
Amazing food, loved the variety of sandwhiches and empanadas avaliable. I would say it's the best Argentinian food in Denver. 10/10 would reccomend anyone to try this place. Also, the alfajores were delicious
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
A+ sandwiches and fries are perfect, excellent flavor and hearty portion, looking at pictures before I went in I was worried I wasn't gona be full but it certainly did fill me up! Awesome friendly and helpful employee too! Will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
We had really high hopes for this place and left feeling neutral. Meat and veggies were lacking for the enormous bun ratio and we thought the meat was a bit tough. Also, they did not provide us cream sauce with the fries. Overall, I'm not sure we would return.

Noah B.

Yelp
The food and service were both great! It's a cute place with a great ambience. I will definitely stop by again.
google avatar

Katelyn M.

Yelp
The food is soooooo good! We did empanadas and the steak sandwich and both were amazing!!! Definitely check this spot out!
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Popped up on this place on a whim and really excited to have something different because I don't think I ever been exposed to Argentinean food. Going in, it was small yet Clean but there's confusion when it comes to ordering and dining in. Unfortunate customer service doesn't exist with one cooking and doing the register conversation was limited. I ordered the flank steak sandwich that was paired with potatoes wedges and it was pretty decent. For me this place gets 3 stars only because the experience was little to none.

Wes H.

Yelp
Love this place. Sandwiches are great and the empanadas are incredible. Make sure you get a side of the chimichurri!

Jonathan W.

Yelp
amazing service and the food was incredible. The steak sandwich was buttery and perfectly flavored!
google avatar

Kylie S.

Yelp
A small hole in the wall gem, we ordered empanadas and a steak sandwich. The sandwich was amazing 5/5! I will definitely be scheduling my errands around grabbing a sandwich at Carne. The empanadas had a lot of flavor but don't quite hit as big of a homer as the sandwich. 4/5. The place was popping while I was there so things took a little longer but grabbed a table and was able to plan my trip to Argentina!
google avatar

Devyn C.

Yelp
Steak sandwich was absolutely phenomenal!!!! With their house sauce and chimichurri added to it I am addicted. Friendly staff as well! Took some empanadas to go and I am stoked to have them later. Definitely a new go to spot!

Yelp
I want more people to know about this place! And about Argentinian food in general. I grew up in Argentina, so I've been craving and missing a good lomito sandwich for years. If you love sandwiches and MEAT like I do, then you've got to give this a try. This place gives me exactly what I've been craving in a high-quality fast food setting. You put in your order at the counter, and you can see them prepare it in the back. It's a small dining area, but it's very clean and modern/hipster looking (as expected from a new Denver food spot!). I ordered the lomito and my brother ordered the sandwich de vacío (flank steak) so we could each have half of one another's. The portions are huge and come with seasoned potato wedges and chimichurri sauce (a staple of Argentinian cuisine). I was SO FULL but had to finish the entire box because it was so good. The lomito came with a fried egg in it, so it only added to the flavor and richness of the sandwich. The vacío was the perfect amount of chewy that it was easy and pleasant to eat. I guess if there was one thing I'd change about the experience, it would be the bun they use for the sandwiches. It wasn't bad, but I personally remember they use more of a crunchier French baguette type of bread in Argentina. The bun they use at Carne is softer, so I kind of missed the crunchy texture from the bread I loved so much as a kid. Still love this place though, and highly recommend it if you have yet to try Argentinian sandwiches!

Adam P.

Yelp
These are the best empanadas in Denver. The owner is extremely friendly and even made me a fresh to order empanada. I haven't even tried the sandwiches or choripan but it looked out of this world good.
google avatar

Jose P.

Yelp
Totally extraordinary and well worth the pricing. A place that must be tried again and again and again. Highly recommended for all foodies looking for well cooked food.
google avatar

Fernanda S.

Yelp
The best lomito( meat) sandwich ever! The meat empanadas are delicious! Very nice service, highly recommend
google avatar

Willy H.

Yelp
Small, casual, authentic sandwich shop. I have been here twice now. Most recently split the choripan and asada, both so delicious. The service style is order and then sit down. They also have some empanadas and sweets as well which were all home-made. If I lived closer, I'd come here weekly.
google avatar

Rick K.

Yelp
Pretty excited to try this place. Got 2 flank steak sandwiches and samosas. Smelled great. I was disappointed in the following: 1) bread was burnt so I only tasted burnt bread instead of the meat or other flavors 2) samosa was so oily, the oil poured out when you took a bite. 3) price. With 18% tip we were just shy of $50 for two sandwiches and unedible samosas. Fries were pretty good but now I'm uncomfortable. I think the amount of oil isn't sitting well. 3 stars for the potential if they can figure out how to fix the areas I mention. Otherwise would have been 2 stars for the actual experience.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Walked in after having driven past this spot a hundred times, and was NOT disappointed. This food is so damn good, I got the steak sandwich and the amount of umami that envelops your senses is crazy. I'm very judgmental when it comes to food and this is certified amazing. Please stop by this place, the staff is super friendly and the food won't disappoint you.

Hurley W.

Yelp
Ungodly good. It is definitely worth the trip and the price. Got the steak and salad plate. The steak was the best flank steak I have ever tasted. The worker (owner?) KNOWS flavor. I will be going back again and again. I wish I could shout it from the rooftops how good this food was.
google avatar

Aaron T.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, very delicious food, fresh and tasty. Chimichurri was tasty. 10/10 would recommend.

Kaitlyn A.

Yelp
This has been my favorite empanada spot in Denver for awhile. I've been to Maria empanadas and yes there's variety but here omg. The empanadas remind me of home. Perfectly fried good size. I prefer the chicken. I won't go anywhere else for an empanada.
google avatar

Abi T.

Yelp
I love this place! Great empanadas and sandwiches, one of my new go-to lunch spots. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Let's face it, Denver doesn't exactly have a lot of South American cuisine. Since visiting Argentina, I've been to several Argentine restaurants in the LA area but this is the first place in the US where I was really wowed and where I felt it was about as close (if not equal) to what I had in Buenos Aires. Kudos to the staff! Excellent food, great service, friendly guys. The place itself is really casual and quaint. I felt like they did a good job decorating and really giving it some personality. I was welcomed with a 'hi' and some questions for a guy sitting at the table near the menu as I reviewed it. It turned out he was the cook. :) I glanced over the options but I knew the second I laid eyes on the menu that 'de Vacio' was the sandwich I wanted. I like authentic food and this would be a direct apples-to-apples comparison of the street food I had in BA. One bite into the sandwich and I was in heaven. Even more than that, I didn't face the disappoint I seem to feel much too often when I have high expectations. This place nailed it. For a casual spot, you could argue the prices are a bit high but in defense, it is quality meat and you're not going to get this level of deliciousness anywhere else. There is no question I will make it back here - I just wish I lived a little bit closer!
google avatar

M H.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try this place & it didn't disappoint. The Sandwich de Vacio (flank steak sandwich) was super flavorful & the steak tender and OMG those crispy potato wedges... I almost want to say the potato wedges stole the show. The sandwich came with a creamy sauce on the side but since the steak & potato wedges had so much flavor, I didn't even use it. Portions were also great for the price. I thought about docking a star for the nonchalant interaction (neither friendly nor unfriendly) by the cashier when picking up my order but the food was super yummy so I guess it makes up for it. A smile would have been nice though.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
This is truly a hidden gem. Even though the flank sandwich is the most popular, the lomito really stole the show for me. The the thin slice of ham with pork loin and egg. It was soo delicious. It was juicy and tender. And with the chimichura sauce was delicious. I will definitely come back to try the other sandwiches. You get thick cut fries with the sandwiches which already seasoned and they taste delicious also. It is counter service but the people there are extremely extremely friendly.
google avatar

Jordan M.

Yelp
A coworker born in Argentina took us here and this was his second time in a week-all you need to know! Name says it all- Argentina sandwiches & plates. Had the empanadas and sausage sandwich and both were on point. Potato wedges will make you think- why aren't I eating more potato wedges?!! They start serving beer and instant 5 stars!
google avatar

Clarence W.

Yelp
The flank steak was very good and the wedge fries had nice herbs taste. Service was very quick as well!

Steve L.

Yelp
Just had the flank steak sandwich and it was great. Tender and great marinade, with chimichurri. The potatoes excellent as well. A new favorite!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
I had the Carne Asada sandwich and would definitely recommend it! This place is small and the food is !!!!
google avatar

Carlos I.

Yelp
The flank steak sandwich is delicious. Make sure to add chimichuri (the green sauce) for excellent eating. Looking forward to coming back.
google avatar

Wes T.

Yelp
Best damn sandwich I've had since I moved to Denver last year. Can't wait to go back and try all the other sandwiches!
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Unreal - the bread is incredible for these sandwiches. I got the steak sandwich and will 100% be back. The chorizo empanada was the best I've ever had.
