Becoming a member is one of the best decisions I ever made!!! I also loved visiting the exhibitions, which are open to the public, before I joined and would highly recommend looking up their schedule!!

Britney, the bartender is impeccable, made the most exquisite cocktails and had the most engaging conversations with us during our time in the back bar! Loved our time in the bar simple because she made us feel so special! Thank you Britney!

Classic design. Year long schedule of amazing lectures on art, architecture on and on. Beautiful 2nd floor dinning for members and their guests. A+++++

I would definitely describe The Arts Club of Chicago as hidden in plain sight, located off the bustle of Michigan Avenue, on the corner of Ontario Street. It was only yesterday that I had the opportunity to venture here to attend a CPL library breakfast that was held on the second floor. The service was impeccable and the food (fresh fruit, mini pastries, and a frittata dish) was delicious although, puzzlingly, I could not discern any knives on the breakfast setup. Most importantly, caffeinated beverages (coffee and hot tea) were self-serve and plentiful for that early hour of the morning. The room itself was elegant, with pieces of art placed at tasteful intervals. The first floor gallery space is free and open to the public on selected days of the week. Visitors can also make private appointments to tour the collection. The space is manageable to wander around, so I would probably not opt for the tour, unless I happened to be coming in with a group. Looking at the website, it seems like there are a various events/lectures that are free and open to all, as well as a rotating slate of exhibitions. I am keen on attending these types of events, so I will be checking back on the website, and have signed up for the mailing list.

Beautiful space and a great venue spot for events. I attended a charity gala here and it's big enough to hold a good 150+ guests. More ideal for an intimate vibe.

Designed by John Vinci in 1997, this two-story arts center holds the famous reconstructed steel staircase designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. It was in the original Arts Club building formerly at 109 East Ontario but demolished in 1995. It was a big deal to preservationists when the original was about to be torn down. The modern stair is the centerpiece of the new interior space, and it is hard to keep your eyes off of it while you are attempting to view the art on display here.

A perfect space for a mid-sized event. I liked the seating and the fireplace. The staff was quick and efficient in keeping my wine glass full. The mini prime rib sandwiches and chicken kebabs were warm and tasty considering that they were just little stomach-fillers for the wine. One downside was that the security staff was very harsh when trying to keep the drinks upstairs. I think that they could have been nicer and more professional.

Great food, superb service, refined atmosphere.

I was in Chicago recently and saw this little art gallery and saw a bunch of people in there and was wondering what the big deal was. I walked in and saw some amazing photos of nature. They were professional and had amazing resolution to them but in addition, they could be interpreted as abstract photos. It was amazing. Also, there was wine. :-) All in all, if it's open, not a bad to visit for 15-30 minutes.

This review is for the public exhibition gallery downstairs. There was a lot of interesting art but nothing was labelled. The only staff was a security guard - I think I interrupted his smoke break when I wanted to enter but he did let me in but didn't really offer any welcome or explanation.

My boss held a cocktail reception over the weekend and I assisted with it. I've done events before and this was pretty easy and straight forward. We supplied the champagne and wine to be served(corkage fee applies for each bottle they open). A mixed drink bar and a menu of hors d'oeuvres were supplied by The Arts Club. While the space is beautiful and the location is conveniently downtown, your event may be more costly than you are aware of. During the event, a few splits of champagne in our gift bags for the guests were taken(room was off-limits to guests) and the counts for our remaining wine were off. When questioned, the staff did one more look around and miraculously found the missing bottles. The staff was quite pleasant and seemed competent since they do many events, but after our event, the word from others was that similar issues to the ones we experienced had happened. When I brought my issues to the attention of the managing supervisor, I was assured they had NEVER had any theft issues-- REALLY? It was also insinuated that I may not be telling the truth. What??? My boss would have gladly have given me the splits-- I didn't need to take them. Gave me a very uneasy sad feeling.
