My husband & I love this bar. All of the bar tenders & staff are super friendly, competent & efficient. The food is really good & prices are reasonable. The servings are so big that always end up with meals for next day. They have a relatively recent, but experienced cook who has really improved the food in the last year, although it was always pretty good. They have specials all the time. They make typical bar food, but it's delicious. My favorite are the Irish Nachos. I don't often crave food from a bar, but I often do now. They usually have live music on weekends with great acts & have a back area for comfortable sitting during acts, or hosting parties. We go here almost every weekend. It's cozy with a big fireplace & lots of TVs for games. My favorite bar of all time.

I love the Atlantic! It has that perfect Chicago bar atmosphere. The bar is warm and inviting and so are the owners and the staff! I couldn’t recommend it enough. We’ve even done my uncles birthday party here two years in a row. The prices are great and the food is exactly what I expect from my favorite bar. Comfort food that’s affordable with good portions. It’s a good spot to stop in and watch a game, meet up with some friends or just relax and have a beer.

Great local pub! Friendly bartender, fast and delicious food. We got Irish nachos and they were bomb! Excited to come back for a traditional Irish breakfast and a soccer game.

Not a place for a non local on a Sunday vs Nottingham Forest. Place is overpacked and nowhere to get service or try food. If you want to be surrounded by fellow people wearing Tottenham gear, you will get your fill. If you want to come and enjoy a pint and match, be aware.

The best Sports Bar in Lincoln Square, staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Just a good environment. Whether one wants to catch a Premier League game, NFL, or College Football then go The Atlantic for a great environment.

Been here many times for early morning Spurs (Tottenham) matches, so my review will be largely from that standpoint. The menu is simple but well executed, exactly what you would want at 6 AM while you're trying to take in a match. The crowd is friendly and, as it should be, die hard Tottenham, happy to chat with neighbors and welcome newcomers. The service and space is generally good (especially if the bar dog is present), but one thing people should keep in mind is for big games, or when it's a late morning/early afternoon match, it can become a standing room only bar, and at that point things will understandably slow down. In other words, be understanding when it's a packed house, and be sure to get there early (45 minutes or more depending on time of game) if you want to guarantee a good spot at the bar or table. If you keep all that in mind and plan accordingly, this is a great place to come if you're a Tottenham fan or a neutral looking to take in some soccer.

Friendly bar and restaurant. Casual with great affordable food. Always fun to be there particularly watching a soccer game. Love going there and meeting new people. Particularly fun on nights with drop in musical groups. No pretentiousness, just everyone having a good time..love The Atlantic!

Excellent food. Cold drinks. Outstanding staff. My go to spot. I'm sad that the bar dog and her owner aren't there anymore but that's life.

We both ordered the Fish & Chips with an extra filet for $3.00. They come with fries, tots, or waffle fries, and they give you plenty. The filets were cooked just right, tender and filling. I ordered iced tea but they only had it in cans which were too sweet and weak. They only had high-top tables and chairs, I prefer a regular table. It's a pretty good-sized place and they have entertainment as well, check their website for more info.

This is a friendly neighborhood place, where I always have a good time. They also offer live music sometimes, including their Tuesday night Blues Jam.

That was my first time in there in a long time and they were very very attentive very nice the bill was not expensive for two people gave us all the information we needed about upcoming events there it's a great little hideaway spot I would recommend it

Main bar in Chicago for Tottenham Hotspur FC Games. Place was packed in Feb of 2022 for a Saturday 2pm game. I did not eat, but I had alot of miller lites. Unique nice atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. Great time!

Went here last night for the first time since before the pandemic. Apparently they have switched owners and even though the place looks the same, it sadly is not. While the bartender working was very nice, pleasant, and attentive the good ends there. The menu and food are lacking big-time. My burger was a stepup from Wendy's and my husband's Shepard's pie was lacking. I really hope the new owner turns it around quickly to hang on to the following this place has. We need places like this in our neighborhood, a good no frills pub!

Nothing special. The prices for beer is decent, but the food isn't great. I'd suggest this place as a watering hole, but look somewhere else if you're hungry.

Worst service! We were there early to watch a Premier League match. The waitress, an older woman with long hair came by and was unhappy that we're not ready to order when she came by. She proceeded to say that we could not sit there and not order anything. We had full intentions to eat there and just needed time to decide what we wanted to eat. We ended ordering coffee only and leaving after the match. Never again. To the owner, train your staff to be patient and courteous. Awful woman!

Review is as a Tottenham Hotspur supporter bar. Watched the disastrous loss to Brighton & Hove Albion (0-3). +Pros +Open before 6:30 AM kickoff. I've been to plenty of soccer bars whose still drunk bartender stumbles in 5 minutes before kickoff or after start. +Bartender was attentive and pleasant +Irish breakfast was average to good +Bar TVs well placed and modern +Friendly Spurs fans (if you see an older gent - named Harris say hi) - Cons - Some of the most fair weather fans I've encountered that yell complaints throughout the match, kind of takes away from the fun when you're around some negative neds.... I get it when you're team is down but throughout the game just makes me think some of that crowd just aren't happy with their lives ;)

In the interest of full disclosure I have started a business relationship with this place. Aside from that though I enjoyed coming here for dinner and a beer. Wednesday night was Shepherd's pie for 6.95 it was delicious, warm and savory and exactly what I needed to warm up this winter. I started with the curry fries which is a delicious appetizer, and reminded my brief vacation in England. The fries are thick cut, steak fries and the curry sauce was just the right balance of spice. My friend ordered the chicken wings, nothing special but not bad either, not spicy enough but still tasty. Can I say that I'm amazed that there's an Irish bar in Chicago actually owned and operated by Irish people? The owner Col, is friendly and has an accent so thick that it's almost hard to understand him. Every bartender there seems to be Irish and they even pour little shamrocks into the heads of Guinesses, a nice touch that I've often heard about but have never seen until now. I brought a large group of friends here this weekend and everyone loved it, it was a place that didn't mind 9 people talking loudly, telling slightly off color jokes and laughing obnoxiously. Everyone agreed that this was a great find and my sister even wants to work part time here. They're starting a pick up/drop off service free of charge soon, a great idea for a bar if I ever heard one and soon they'll have college and ladies night in February. Atlantic, I'll be seeing more of you and I'll bring more friends.

Shock top Belgian ale drafts and Shiner Bock, great selection of beers on draft. Nightly specials with drinks under $5 bucks and a cutie bartender (on some rare nights). Oh and street parking which is never busy. When Atlantic closes and you realize you need food, White Hen pantry is next door with the Digiorno's that's on your mind. If you know your going to be drinking drunken bring a friend and call them ahead of time for a reservation on their bus. They'll provide the transportation home, that's an awesome FREE service you can't find anywhere.

New to Chicago and lucky this place is within walking distance from my house. It's my new "go to" for Sunday night dinner. Bangers and mash are yummy with homemade gravy and the potato soup topped with loads of bacon is divine! The owner (Kyle) is from Ireland, making this place more authentic than most of the Irish pubs in the area. He will definitely keep your glass full, that's for sure. If you like soccer/football, come early for the match because it gets packed! Brought my California friends and they were so happy with everything! Make sure to have the Reuben Rolls with a pint!

Came here on a Saturday evening for a friend's party. The bartender was great, giving friendly, quick service. The food was good too. I had the slaw salad and the beer batter caulifower with a spicy jalapeno ranch dip (**warning, the slaw is delicious but the salad portion is huge! I fought the slaw and the slaw won!). We stayed in the front, but there is also a big back room. I realized I had been there before but had never reviewed. If I recall, I had a fun time in the past too (and the fact that memories are blurry, means I most likely did!) I no longer live in Chicago, but for those that do, hit up Atlantic for a good time!

Authentic Irish Pub with amazing food and wonderful vibe! Kyle will make you feel right at home and will keep the drinks flowing. Can't wait for our next visit to Chicago. This will be our first stop! Slainte!

Really friendly, down to earth, hole in the wall place. The food is pretty ok, with the fish n chips being a standout good choice. Come on Sunday evenings for folk music jam, on Fridays for non-judgmental karaoke.

Great bar to celebrate a friend's b'day on a frosty Saturday night. It was a little tight in the front area near the door but we definitely made it work with a nice sized group. I noticed there was a huge room in the back that seemed to accommodate huge bday parties. The guy that seemed to manage/own the place was very nice as he hooked us up with a free round of shots as we told him we were celebrating a b'day. They have a pretty nice beer selection and a really good staff. Would def check thick this place out again!

If you are looking for a neighborhood pub for a quick bite with reasonable priced menu, this is it. Irish owner Cathal brings home cooked Irish food right on the Northwest side of Chicago. The Shepard's Pie is the best ever and the Irish Stew is so authentic Irish. Friday night Fish and chips are crispy and not greasy. Our server Chris was so attentive and nice and the bartender Joseph made sure we got exactly the beer we liked from their huge menu of beers. Atmosphere is perfect if you are a sports fan or just wanting to chill with no distractions in the quiet area. Party room is also available. Love this neighborhood place!

Overview: If you're in the neighborhood and you don't mind smoke, the Atlantic is a decent place for a few low-key Thursday night drinks. On the weekends it might even be worth a bit of a trek, as their back room appears to be set up for massive sports viewing fests. The interior is new, clean and comfortable. Service is pretty good and the food is okay. Most of the time I was here I was focused on catching up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while so I didn't absorb every detail of the place, but there were a few things that stood out: - Smoking. Seems like the Atlantic is holding out until the last possible minute on the smoking thing and the clientele is making the most of that. At least half of the people in here (~ 15 - 20 overall) were smoking and it was palpable to those of us who weren't. - TVs. There were a couple well positioned in the front room, and the back room seemed to have some massive screen, which would clearly be useful for NFL Sundays. - Service. I'm not decided on whether this is an example of good service or bad service. I'll just relay what happened and you can come to your own judgments about it. After two glasses of 312 I ordered a glass of Miller Lite to begin the wind down phase of the evening. It tasted off. At first I thought it might just be the sequence of 312 before Lite that influenced my taste buds. But after 3 or 4 sips, it was clearly off. So I brought it back to the bartender and told him I'd be glad to pay for another beer if I was wrong, but I thought the Lite was off. He said it wouldn't be a problem and poured me another 312, telling me the Lite was at the end of the keg. It was nice that he quickly poured me another beer, but if he knew the Lite keg was beyond its last legs, why didn't he mention that when I ordered it? From the outside you'd think this particular bar was a hidden little hole in the wall when infact it is a friendly, clean place to drink inexpensive drinks. When I wrote hidden I wasn't kidding. This is somewhat of a distance from "Lincoln Square" but walking from the Western Brown Line stop is easy.......and much better than driving around....particularly after you had several of their inexpensive pitchers of beer. They actually have space in the back to play "Corn Hole" which was a game I learned about when I first moved to the mid-west to the town of Cincinnati......I swore never to play a game named after a part of the body my kinfolk in the mountains of North Carolina use to call it, but somehow.......perhaps the cheap pitches were the cause.........had me playing a few fun games. Great place deserving of all the stars it receives.

This place is great. Very chill and relaxing place to watch a game. If your a football (soccer) fan it can get packed for big games. The owner is super friendly and they have a good selection of beer. Not to mention the food (at least what we have tried) is great. The buffalo chicken dip will change your life!

I used to live in this neighborhood, so I used to come here with my then roommate quite often. We'd usually get the same thing, the friendly staff gets to know you and know your order, etc etc. Though after a while, they completely changed the menu and most of our favorites were gone! The chef even joked about it when we were in 7-11 next door "Man, they took away all of your favorites!" I guess that was the beginning of the end for us there, but I have since moved anyway. Their beer selection is good, and they don't skimp on drinks. It's somewhat of a sports bar, they seem to be big on soccer games but without the douchey sports fans that you get in Wrigleyville. Seamus is the main dude in there and he's a real cool guy. If you live in the hood, then this could definitely be 'your spot' so check it out.

I've been wanting to try this place because it's a bar and grill close to my home. Finally made it in here and was kinda disappointed. The food was decent. I had the blt and my boyfriend had the corned beef. Both were good we ate all of our food but our drinks. Ugh. The beer was flat like the line hadn't been changed or cleaned in awhile. Same with my Malibu and coke. The coke was flat. There was also some contraption set up in the front of the restaurant like they were having an issue with the ac or dampness I'm not sure but it was kinda ghetto looking set up. The owner was very nice and attentive. He needs a visit from Bar Rescue.

Terrible management, the service in this bar is among the worst I've seen in Chicago. The manager was incredibly rude and the food did not make up for it in the slightest.

Quality bar and place to wet your whistle, but if you are a Chelsea or Arsenal fan check the schedule because the Yid Army might try and scrap you if they are there too. Personally, I'm not scared of them and would take them all on if they wanted to have a go. UTC.

Nice place to grab pub grub and a pint in the northern part of Lincoln Square (where there are surprisingly few walkable options in the category.) Food is reasonably priced and what you would expect from an Irish pub. Family friendly. Never had an issue getting a seat during day / early evening. (Place can get packed during special events.) Only "minor" knock is that during slow times the bartender acts as the server for the seating area, which can cause a bit of a backlog.

We came into the Atlantic on a Friday night for karaoke and a late dinner. Karaoke starts at 9, so we arrived right around that time. There are probably 6-10 tables as well as a large bar, so it is definitely a smaller, neighborhood feel to it, which I like. Seamus was the server and bartender. It would probably be helpful to have a server and a bartender on nights when the Atlantic will get busy, like karaoke, because as soon as it began to fill up, Seamus was no longer able to come to our table to refill drinks or even bus the table. We don't mind having to go to the bar for drinks, but having dirty plates sitting for hours was a little off-putting. Maybe they were having an off night, because the food was pretty meh as well, and left much to be desired. The fish in the fish and chips and fish sandwich didn't seem fresh and lacked flavor. The chicken fingers were definitely frozen - my boyfriend's comment "they're FLAT." The fries were the only good part, really. Karaoke was a blast, and the kjay knows what he's doing and how to keep a crowd entertained. We will absolutely be back for karaoke, but maybe eat at home or somewhere else first. My only other criticism was that there was no air conditioning, and there was only one very small window open at the front of the bar. It was stifling in there.

Yummy buffalo chicken dip! Pretty good crab cakes with a nice salad. Angry Orchard on tap, which is good, but they put ice in it, which is odd and watered it down. Nice space in the back for events. Fun!

The best Irish pub in all of Chicago. Easily. I have never had a negative experience at this bar. The staff is always friendly and takes care of patrons like family. The food is incredible (I recommend the fish and chips) and the Guinness tastes better here than any other bar in the city. If you want to true Irish feel go to the Atlantic!

I've only been here a handful of times and I already love it! Great atmosphere and the food is so good! The wings are some of the best I've had in this area but I do wish they came in larger orders!

Cool bar up on North Lincoln Ave with a TRUE Euro/Irish feel! The owner is behind the bar making sure everything is running smooth and offering a drink or shot to the regs. They do a "Fish Fry" on Fridays which is quite good and authentic, great batter! Good beer selections on tap with an emphasis on European Brew such as Carlsberg, etc. Gets pretty crowded on Fridays for the fry so be prepared to wait a bit! A tad on the expensive side but the food is of good quality....get dat did

Come for the fish & chips but stay for the company! I have been missing this place since I moved out of Lincoln Square but it's about time I make my way back. Great service, reasonable prices and a very relaxed atmosphere.

We loved this place. I found it on Yelp when I searched for "bars cute men" and this place was .2 miles from our restaurant. Yelp was spot on too! Atlantic Bar & Grill is an Irish bar that has about five televisions showing different sports on each. Even though rugby wasn't one of the sports we could tell that Atlantic Bar & Grill is a big fan. They had rugby stuff on the walls. Anyway, the televisions were easy to see but weren't distracting from our conversation. The bar had a lively din but was not so loud where I couldn't easily hear my friends. Later, they told me that I was Drunky McDrunkerson and speaking loud enough for the whole bar to hear me talk about my Leprechaun friend and which guys I thought were hot enough for my sister. HOW embarrassing. ANYWAY, our server guy was Irish and I loved him to pieces. He was funny and on top of things. He didn't seem to mind me calling him my Leprechaun if it's true that the whole bar could hear me saying that. We all liked our drinks. We also liked the cheese fries and the curry tater tots. My sister liked her Ruben sandwich. There were hot men to be seen but not in such quantities that it was intimidating. In fact, the vibe of the bar was really familial and casual. When we first walked in there was a young woman holding a baby with a toddler in a stroller (heck - I thought I'd walked into The Alibi Room in "Shameless"). We all loved it and want to go back. SO - if anyone from Atlantic Bar & Grill reads this, I am sorry for speaking in such a loud voice and I promise to speak more appropriately next time. I hope that I didn't offend anyone. P.S. My sister LOVED that she could park for free in the parking lot next door. The lot belongs to Atlantic Bar & Grill.

I am about to write 5 words I never thought I would ever write: This is my favorite bar. I know, it's crazy, but while I will go to a bar I've never really been in love with one before. They all serve alcohol and have TVs, what else is there really? Well, Atlantic has a few things that make me love it. First is the fact that everyone that works here is Irish. Literally, off the boat Irish. They're also friendly, funny, helpful, and waste no time getting you food or drinks. These guys are what every server should be, and they do it while smiling and having fun. The second reason I love this place is that they offer one of my all time favorite meals: corned beef and cabbage. And as I saw from the plates of the 2 people that ordered it, they don't skimp on the portion. Large slices of beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots... Yum!! I was able to snag a couple of bites of cabbage and it was delicious. It reminded me of when my mom would spend the day making a corned beef for dinner, only better. There are also the best curry fries I've ever had, and tots covered in faux cheese. After some fries and tots I didn't have room for the corned beef :( The thing that really tipped the scales for me to fall in love with this place is that the night I happened to stop in there was live entertainment. Usually this would not impress me except that this guy was Irish and was singing a great mix of Irish folk songs mixed with remakes of some seriously amazing songs. By the end of the night I wanted to take the Irish guy home purely so that he could sing to me all the time. While I have never been to Ireland, after I left I couldn't help but feel that I had just spent a few hours in a real Irish Pub.

From what I can remember, I had a very good time. Guiness may be the Nectar of the Gods, but it's a Nectar that can bite you in the ass. The Atlantic is amazing. It's a Irish bar that employs real Irish people, has a real Irish singer (from Ireland) and serves real Irish booze. In all seriousness, the singer was awesome. He sang a mix of traditional, Irish folk songs with a few American folk ballads mixed in. He was quite the talented (Irish) fellow. I made the mistake of having dinner before my visit to the Atlantic, so I didn't get a chance to sample the food. The menu is quite reasonably priced and the food looked awesome. They serve a decadent, cheesy tater tot dish that looked like a artery hardening, good time. My visit to the Atlantic could not have been more fun. I have finally found a great bar to hang out at that's fairly close to my house. I can't wait to go back and sample the debauchery again.

The Atlantic is just brimming with Irish charm and hospitality! The bartender ordered a pizza and shared it with all of his patrons... he walked over to each of us and offered a few slices! "No, take more!", he said. And that is the short story of how the Atlantic won this girl over. $5 domestic pitchers on Thursday nights. Word.

Boxing day was my first trip to the Atlantic Bar & Grill. Why is that significant, because there are always English Premier League matches played on Boxing day of course. I started off my day at the Globe with my life being quickly aged by United's piss poor defense, but from there it was to meet a Spurs supporting friend of mine at the Atlantic. And that's where the fun really begins. See, the Atlantic is a Spurs bar. Now, you don't have to be a spurs supporter to come here, but this is where Chicago's critical mass of spurs supporters like to watch their matches. I've experienced this group before at the Globe, so I knew how much fun I was gonna be in for. Only now, they're funnier and louder which means that they're even more fun. As a neutral I was absolutely loving it as this kind of passion is what the beautiful game brings. The service was better than could be expected. There were like 50 people there with only 1 guy tending bar. Still, it wasn't hard to get a beer or put in a food order. With every person there wanting a beer (or four) and him being the only one, I have to tip my cap and say: sir, you killed it. The beer selection was very good. It was mostly midwest based, but certainly had a craft focus without anything being too obscure. While the selection wasn't massive, it hit all the right points which is all that can really be asked IMO. I need to come here again to watch a Spurs match when there isn't a conflict. I had a complete blast and was loving every second of it. It's one of those things where if you can't have some sort of fun watching this passion, then you're probably a vampire or someone who sucks. Since I don't suck, I wholeheartedly approve of the Atlantic.
