The Attic Ale House - Review - Arcadia - Phoenix - The Infatuation

"Camelback Mountain separates Phoenix and Scottsdale, and has two of Phoenix’s most popular hiking trails: Cholla and Echo Canyon. The Attic Ale House, an eight-minute drive from the trailhead, is the best spot in the area for that beer and burger you’ve been imagining since about 10 minutes into your hike. There’s a long list of beer and wine options to drink alongside the Ivan burger (our favorite) with a view of the mountain, while debating whether the person who was hiking in jeans and flip flops ever made it to the top." - Joanna Boyle

This is a cool little restaurant bar. I sat at the bar, the service was great and everyone is friendly. They have gluten-free options which I love! The gluten-free Arcadia Lemon Chicken pizza is my favorite, I like the generous pieces of avocado that they put on it. I've gone with a friend of mine that always orders the coconut shrimp, they do look delicious. They have great drink specials during happy hour. I'll definitely be visiting more often.

Google
A nice unassuming dining experience. We had the wood-fired prosciutto Pizza. Delicious!!! Service was friendly and timely. Great place, if you like different draft beers.

Google
Great service and awesome food! The best onion rings and breakfast pizza 😋

Google
Great award winning burgers! Good selection on tap. Comfortable atmosphere, great for sporting events! Pretzel buns. It's not marked very well, but it's upstairs as the name suggests. Would go back.

Google
We had a great experience! We lucked out and beat the Mother's Day rush, so we were sat immediately. Our server Levi was funny and was very attentive, despite the restaurant filling up minutes after we ordered our first drink. The hangover burger was delicious. You have to try the Malört if you never have.

Google
Hands down my favorite spot in the Valley! The food menu and drink options are absolutely superb. With different specials always changing throughout the week. The best Bloody Marys in town. And the staff is ALWAYS so welcoming. Being on the second story, you have the most fascinating views of Camelback Mountain. Highly recommend a sunset dinner on the patio for the perfect ambiance!

Google
My husband and I needed some lunch and ended up here. What a great decision! The beer selection is good, as far as beer I only like sour and gose, they had two options but also have a cocktail menu. But the food was fantastic! I got the prime rib sliders and truffle fries and my husband ordered the wings. The sliders we definitely the best food we've had anywhere in a long time! We sat on the patio which was nicely shaded and had misters all around. Great music and service to boot. We will absolutely be going back!

Google
Recommended. I've been here half a dozen times over a few years, and would go more if they were in my usual area. Food: Consistently good, every meal I've had here has been really satisfying - I've mostly gone with the burgers because they're some of the best in the area. I have to mention that the drinks have also been consistently enjoyable, and unusually they have not just one, but a selection of mead if you want to drink like a viking tonight. Environment: It's a small space - you pass the kitchen on the way in, which is always appetizing here. Although the space is small they have managed to make it cozy, not cramped, and the noise level is very decent - you have to speak up some times but it feels more busy than just noisy, not unpleasant. The balcony is nice. Service: Really good, they always seem to nail the balance of checking in at appropriate times without being bothersome and the one time I had a problem it was resolved with haste. I will look forward to going here again and I recommend you give it a shot.

Yelp
We came for a late dinner after a flight. The pizza was so good. My Maple Old Fashioned was a little sweet but good nevertheless. The pizza was very tasty and the cheese was great. Levi was a great server and had a great sense of humor If you come here it is worth being here at sunset and watching it from outside. This will be our new Arcadia hangout.

Yelp
We stopped in the Arcadia area on the way to a concert and wanted to try a new place. I worked in the area, down the street from the Attic Ale House for 3 years and never stopped by! The restaurant itself was fun - interesting layout, great roof top/outdoor patio, fun decorations, and a lively atmosphere. My boyfriend and I shared the grilled chicken buffalo wrap, the chicken caesar salad, and the soft pretzel. Everything was good! Our favorite dish was the caesar salad, the grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and the salad was well dressed. Our downside was the bar/restaurant's music was SO loud I felt like I was screaming at my boyfriend to have a conservation. It was so loud that the waitress misinterpreted our order (which was quickly fixed) but she couldn't hear us. The seems like a great place to hangout with friends on the weekend. Everyone was friendly and the prices were decent!

Yelp
Food was pretty good, the wings where awesome , the pizza was good, the drinks where nice , the service was really good as well. The ambiance was awesome with the view and all . My biggest complain is the music. The music can make or break the vibe. The music was to random , loud, and it was like if you was in a rock or pop concert. The vibe can be fixed with some chill house , or chill music if anything . After hours I get the whole hopping around music but during the view of the mountain hours you need a chill vibe. Other than that it was pretty cool. Food: 4 out of 5 Service 4.2 out of 5 Vibe: 3.7 out of 5

Yelp
I went to The Attic and had a fabulous cocktail. The bartender made me The Paper Plane which they have listed on their menu. It was beautifully balanced and had quality ingredients. The perfect night cap. The restaurant was very inviting. I love the decor. The bathrooms needed a little TLC but other than that it was a fun experience.

Yelp
Love the attic ale house! Have tried many of their food items from pizzas to burgers to tacos- all yummy! The truffle onion rings appetizer is the best. Huge selection of beers and also a delicious sangria! The view from the rooftop is super cute and has good vibes. The only con is pricing is a little expensive.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood jewel. Being close to my house & the confidence of good food, good service, along with an unbeatable view of Camelback. I love returning here with friends & family, as it's guaranteed a fun time while being fed well. Personable & attentive staff, lead by their fearless manager, Jerry.

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this spot yet! It's one of our faves! Beers-amazing, they have anything, everything and more. They get special ones in often and regularly change it up, so you can always find something new! I've had some of my favorite beers here. To be honest, I've only had burgers here every time we've gone, because they're that good. The Ivan is massive but always a good call. They also have a different burger on special every week, and it's always a hit! Inside, it's crowded and a bit cramped and it does get pretty busy. Parking can be rough, but you can park in the plaza across the street and they do also have a valet sometimes. Outside, you get a great view of the mountains. They have heaters and blankets for when it's colder out too. They have tvs so you can watch sports, all over. Also, never had an issue with service. You can bring kids here pretty easily but not really room for your stroller.

Yelp
Great service! Great burger! Great ambiance! Great owner and also don't get me started about the drinks because they are amazing! Highly recommend.

Yelp
First time here and we got a different experience. Our son joined the Phoenix Firebirds rugby club this year and they have been sponsored by The Attic for many years now. When the club comes as a group they are seated downstairs in the sandwich shop and get a dedicated serving team. The sponsorship and special treatment had me sold already, but the food and drinks and service are what will keep me coming back. The GM was our server and the food and drinks came out so fast. He knows what he's doing and had quick great recommendations for beer, cider and food. I loved the POG cider, the brie and pancetta bruschetta and the prime rib sliders. Our club had a great time and it was a fun first visit

Yelp
We love this place! Great view and great vibe! The beer selection is great and the pizza was so so good! The service at the bar was terrific also. We will be back again and again... especially when friends and family are here visiting!
google avatar

Kaelyn G.

Yelp
5 stars for food, but 3 stars for service. The food was great and the bruschetta was possibly the best one we've ever had. However, while our server was very kind, service was extremely slow. Would recommend sitting on the patio (on the second floor) if the weather is nice!
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
A fun spot with a beautiful view of Camelback! Service was quick and efficient, and I was impressed with their selection of mead. The spot is small and hidden, but the drink list is extensive with something for everyone. They have a selection of food, as well. Will be back for sure!!

Yelp
Went here on Cinco De Mayo and it wasn't busy at all, which I was surprised to see because EVERY time I go here, this place is crowded. The Attic is not a large establishment, but it's a very chill spot that I enjoy going to. I believe it's either each day or each week they have different specials they run. This visit I ordered a Red "triple berry" Sangria, Sunday Special Nacho Mama Buffalo Nachos and my usual Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fries (this is a regular menu item). I love a good sangria, so whenever there's a sangria on the menu I'm ordering it and the sangria was really good. The buffalo chicken wrap is something I always get when I go to The Attic. If you're a blue cheese lover, I recommend getting a side of blue cheese with this wrap. There is an additional charge for the side of blue cheese. Their fries are hand cut, which I'm a HUGE fan of. Whenever I see hand cut fries on the menu, I'm ordering it. The nachos were ok, they weren't hot when we got them, but overall I really enjoy dining at The Attic.

Yelp
We picked this bar to watch a hockey game. Our choice surpassed our expectations by far. Once on the second floor we discovered the breathtaking views of camelback mountains. This place is a hidden jewel. The staff go above and beyond their duties. They were funny, attentive and helpful. The wings and pizzas were amazing . Good cocktails and wine and beer collection. The only issue was limited parking.
google avatar

Becca L.

Yelp
Came here for a drink and a snack on a Sunday and was not disappointed. Got a great view overlooking the mountains and city while having a beer and a bite. They even had blankets out when it was cold, which just shows their care to customers. Definitely gets busy but it's a nice local place that's great for a brew and a snack!

Yelp
This gastropub is a must visit in Arcadia. Great beer and wine selection served on a scenic patio with gorgeous views of Camelback Mountain. It's the perfect spot for a relaxed hangout with friends.
google avatar

Kat H.

Yelp
I love this place! It's a hidden spot to watch a great game, catch up with friends, and (for me) enjoy a cold tasty gluten-free beer! The staff is always friendly and attentive as well.

Luck B.

Yelp
Place really become meh which is unfortunate as was a great gastropub serving great food & craft beers...then came the full liquor license and now just another upscale dive pushing shots & drinks.

Andrew H.

Yelp
One of my favorite bars/restaurants in the Phoenix area. They have a great selection of microbrews and their drinks are really good. I've also never had a meal that wasn't delicious here.

Yelp
The Attic is one of my all time favorite neighborhood spots. First, the view is spectacular and the patio is absolutely perfect for our cooler days. If it's too hot, they have a wall of windows that still allows you access to the views. I've never had anything bad here, in fact I've never had anything mediocre. Everything I've had has been delicious. They are known for their burgers, the Ivan in particular. That pretzel bun cannot be beat. My only pointer here is when I've had it on Sundays, the bun seems dryer than other days. I think bc they are closed on Mondays and are using the last of their inventory. So, order that on another day. The pizza is beyond amazing, wood fired, the perfect crust. Bruschetta and onion rings are my go-to apps. In addition to the incredible food and wide array of draft beers, the service is exceptional. I always feel so special walking in and am taken care of like a VIP guest. I absolutely love The Attic and recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
We stopped in after hiking and it was a great spot! We were all starving and the food hit the mark. My sister and I split a pizza and thought it was delicious. My boyfriend has been talking about his burger for a few weeks now saying he wants to go back to Arizona just for it haha. My dad was having banter with the waiter and manager and they were giving it right back to him, which he loved. He jokingly asked for an ice bucket for his beer, and they delivered (pictured below). Highly recommend and will be back when I'm next in town.
google avatar

Christie W.

Yelp
The chicken wings are to die for. I go with the classic buffalo sauce but my boyfriend ordered the dry rub and both were amazing. They provide blankets for the outside tables which is awesome since I'm always cold. This is a great place to come watch a game - but it is LOUD! They have the TVs turned up to ensure everyone can hear what is happening but it does hinder conversation a bit.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Good beer, good food! Glad we ventured out here and stopped at The Attic. Absolutely loved the ambiance of the patio during sunset. The restaurant itself is eclectic as well, so it's definitely a cool spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Just an overall great spot. Excellent burgers, cool rooftop bar & view, and they serve Malort!

Yelp
The food was absolutely perfect. Bloody Mary was balanced and delicious. Casual decor and laid back service, let your guard down and have a drink.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with a friend after work tonight. Overall the food was great. I had prime rib sliders and truffle fries. I liked it so much I ordered takeaway for my husband. The place is pretty small inside, the parking is a literal nightmare. Unless you get lucky just drive over to the side street and walk over. I had to park in front of someone's house and walk about 5 mins to get to the restaurant. Inside the vibe is very lively and extremely loud. Our service was great, she came around multiple times and was very friendly and attentive. Even with a bad parking situation I'd still go back again.

Yelp
"I KEEP COMING BACK." When you come here! HANDS DOWN just order wings and pizza! It's just so good here! Their menu is fire but the wings and pizza here just hit differently! And I HAVE TO SAY RHE RANCH AND BLUE CHEESE! MAN! They GOT IT DOWN! See you guys soon. Wings did go up in price. I think they were like 12$ for 6 wings this time around. Limes were dry but I'm sure they have more fresh ones if you just ask.
google avatar

Tiffany K.

Yelp
Love the bartender because his mojitos are the BEST. Great views & vibes. Love the happy hour. Korean bbq wings are amazing!!! I go here to watch games when I want to see them and the food and atmosphere are fantastic. Great local spot that is one of my favorites!
google avatar

Yelp
Very impressed with Attic Ale House! Came by for Saturday brunch with my friend with no reservation, and got to sit outside. Great view of the mountains and clear blue sky! The ambiance inside is buzzing. It's really like a bar that's built for daytime. Our waiter, Levy, was a lot of fun and added to our time there. My friend ordered the blood mary, which is a meal in itself! It has sticks of chicken, olives, cheese, salami, and more coming out of it! We'd never see anything like it before. She also got a chicken salad that she could not finish. I got the breakfast skillet, which has a ton of potatoes, some eggs, sausage, and cheese drizzle over the whole thing. I wish it had less potatoes and more sausage and eggs, but still, it filled me up and it was delicious.

Yelp
Excellent list of beers on tap, great service, hands down the best hamburger in The Valley.

Yelp
Excellent service, great selection of beers on tap, and hands down the best burger in The Valley.

Yelp
After coming here every time I visit Phoenix, I figured it was time to update my review. The service I've received over the years have improved. The food is always tasty. They no longer have the charcuterie board I love, but that's okay. Now the main reason we come here is for the beer. They always carry a unique selection of draft beers. The last time I came here was for brunch. They have mimosa flights and they do not skimp out on the champagne. Will always enjoy mimosas.

Jim D.

Yelp
What an awesome place . The food was amazing. The service was great and I recommend asking for Levi! The ambiance on the patio was great. Enjoy your time.
google avatar

Yelp
I just wanted to reiterate how I feel about the attic. Everything is so good. The chicken sandwich is amazing and huge. Today I went there for lunch with my fiancé and we both enjoyed a burger, I got the attic crush burger with an Anita rootbeer and he enjoyed the hangover burger with a beer. Honestly, best spot to grab a drink and a burger.

Yelp
One of my favorite Rooftop Patios & Beer Bars in PHX! Their staff are knowledgeable, friendly, & make you feel right at home. Their fearless leader, Jerry, is always there & works hard to keep his staff happy. The best times to hit The Attic are Wednesday's for their Burger/Beer Night or on the weekends. Great for groups of friends & reservations. Highly recommend hitting this spot if you have never visited!

David T.

Yelp
This nice low key bar serves great craft beer. The bartender gave me a great recommendation to take the prosciutto and arugula pizza (special) and it was on point. Had some awesome hazy IPAs. Can't wait to try the other food and beer!
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Okay hats better than a beer with a gorgeous view! The patio is angled perfectly to face Camelback which offers amazing views. We ordered the margarita pizza which was crispy and had a very flavorful pizza sauce. We also ordered the chicken fingers in honey bbq and they were better than expected. The batter was very crispy while leaving the chicken to still be juicy and so flavorful. These are some of the best chicken fingers I've ever had!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
I am a pizza professional and I am very very picky! Last night was a transcendent pizza experience and it wasn't your A typical pizza- it was more a work of ART that my taste buds had never explored! It was a DaVinci moment! If you are in this region and you get a chance to experience the Acadia Lemon Chicken Pizza and wing experience- you must go, the selection of Beer is excellent and paired well! it was a life changing moment, the chef has gone above and beyond here-- a true hero to decadence of taste! Enjoy! I would have shared pictures if I could have stopped shoving it down my throat- apologies it won't happen again!
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Food was excellent today. First time in and ordered the Onion Ring appetizer which was really good. Beer selection was adequate, full bar as well. Burger was prepared perfectly with a side salad, we shared so was all ready cut in half. Service was great, water always refilled, beers when getting low, and full explanation of their special drinks. Great view of Squaw Peak-still is and forever will be called. Sat inside due to heat. Great experience overall and on the regular rotation.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
So I was referred to this place by a friend and he said it had the best burger in AZ. The best? Meh. I had the Ivan and it was a good burger, but not the best. I wasn't asked how I'd like my patty done. It came out medium well, which was a bit dry. The patty was thick and so was the bread. It would've been better if it had a brioche bun instead of a pretzel bun, to make it less heavy. The chicken wings didn't blow me away. It was okay. I did have the Blueberry Spaceship Box cider which was realllyyyy good! Also, the service was fantastic. Overall, a bit underwhelmed by the food. It was all just okay and it did it's job. Nothing that memorable, unfortunately.

Kim B.

Yelp
Levi is the best server! His beer and food recommendations were perfect! He was attentive but gave us time to eat. He makes you feel like you are his only customers! The beer was great! The dragon flower (cauliflower) was amazing!! Finished it off with a shot of Jerry's salty nuts!! Dessert in a shot! Come here and sit in Levi's section!! You will have a great experience!!
google avatar

Allie M.

Yelp
We LOVE The Attic! Great food, patio, and service. The rotational beers are a plus in our book too!
google avatar

Troy M.

Yelp
This is my favorite burger spot in Arcadia. They have everything: handmade burgers and buns, great beer list, open patio facing camelback mountain, TV's, and awesome staff. It could be my favorite burger spot in AZ which is a big statement. This is a great spot for birthdays or celebrations with friends, or just if you wanna watch the game. Definitely check it out
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Jerry has done a great job with running The Attic! I'd been here a few years ago for some happy hours and dinners, so I knew they had a really good beer & dinner menu. Be sure to check their website or the Untapped app to be updated on their current offerings... no domestics or imports here! But now! I've been here a few times in 2021 alone.... Primarily for brunch and football watching on Sundays. Nonetheless, it's really a great place in Arcadia for whatever your heart desires to eat or drink. Kenny gives our group the VIP table and tv + sound to watch our blue and white on Sundays, despite having to accommodate the local NFL team over ours. His staff are fabulous and I've yet to experience poor service. Sundays are for mimosas and some of the most delicious brunch foodz around. One of our guys loves the caveman Bloody Mary ($15 and comes with EVERYTHING including a chicken wing). The breakfast pizza and burrito are to die for... paired with one of the many craft beers on tap. Wings and pretzel are also highly recommended! Despite having only sat at one table this year, there is a variety- patio or not. And dogs are allowed on the patio. The only funky thing about Attic is the weird parking situation, but if you plan to Uber/Lyft, you're in the clear.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
This is a great place to watch football on Sunday's. Enjoy the patio bring your dog. Try the mimosas by the bottle. Great food burgers are a must. Bruschetta was so good.
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
Their French fries and wings are bomb. Always have a great selection of beers and the views of Camelback mountain don't hurt either.
google avatar

Ellenne M.

Yelp
Found this place randomly driving by on a Friday night. The atmosphere was great, I sat outside on the patio, for a change, it was cold, in Phoenix and they have a fireplace so it was nice and cozy. They also have TVs all over the place. Their menu is by QR code and they have daily specials and it seems like they also update it when they sell out of an item which is amazing. I also saw they have brunch which I will have to come back and try. This visit, I got the strawberry limeade, which to me was more tart and needed more sweet. I also got the Arcadia Lemon Chicken Pizza. It was delicious. It consisted of mozzarella cheese and topped with avocado slices. Now, when it came out and I saw avocado on it, I was a little on the fence as I'm not a huge fan of avocado but, I gave it a chance and tried it. It was delicious. I feel like the place is a little tight as they maximize the area to get as many seats in as possible. But that's what we should expect with an attack right? :) I definitely plan on coming back to try a burger and brunch next time.
google avatar

Ali B.

Yelp
I had been past this place before and really wanted to try it so I am so glad we did tonight! My husband and I had to wait 35 minutes for a table so we got a drink at the restaurant next door (nook). But our table was ready right on time and everything was worth the wait! I started off with the mojito. They have a $6 deal on Saturdays, and my husband got a beer. For our meals my husband got a bacon cheeseburger and I got a black bean burger. I can be so picky about veggie burgers, I don't like impossible or beyond, and some black bean ones just disintegrate. But they make this one in house and it was so good! Fell apart a tiny bit but not too bad and the flavor was good. My husband and I both loved the fries too. We were seated outside and the view of the mountains was beautiful! Our server was Levi and he did great, it was busy and he did well with taking care of everyone. Loved all the lights in here too, would be a fun restaurant to visit during the holidays! Or anytime!
