"The ABGB has one of the best patios in South Austin, with live music, good pizza, and even better beer. Make sure to grab a glass of the Hell Yes helles or the Rocket 100 pilsner while you’re there." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion, matthew jacobs
"The Galindo brewery has a lot of accolades, including winning multiple Great American Beer Festival golds (including the best large brewpub of the year), all done by keeping a laser focus on the oft-underrated pilsner and helles styles. The whole concept fits South Austin perfectly: a large beer garden, a nice indoor stage for live local music from notable names several nights a week, and a killer lineup of flavorful but crushable lighter beers. A menu of casual bar food, including creative pizzas, sandwiches, and wings is also available, and there are other cocktails, too. Perhaps the quintessential Austin beer garden, and great for groups. There are keg orders available." - Erin Russell
"When you’re in charge of shepherding your visiting coworkers around town and want to prove to them that Austin is more than just Sixth Street and Rainey, head to ABGB down south. This huge indoor/outdoor beer garden with an equally large patio is well-equipped for large groups of people, and besides serving lots of beers in huge mugs, it also has surprisingly good pizza." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"The South Austin brewery embraces the beautiful combination of pizza and beer. Slices and pies are available (with gluten-free options), and toppings include white clam, wagyu beef, and even a cheese-less marinara, along with several speciality pies that are unique to the restaurants. The dining room is red, red, red and mostly high-top tables; there’s also a funky patio. Order online to take it to go or get delivery on Favor." - Nadia Chaudhury
"The Austin Beer Garden Brewing Company, better known as ABGB, puts out consistently high-quality beers out of South Austin. With a massive patio, live music most nights, and a pretty big menu of pizzas, salads, and sandwiches, this is where you head when you have a big group and want to make sure nobody leaves disappointed. You can get a lot of great beers here, but our favorites are the Rocket 100 Pilsner and the Hell Yes Helles. They’re clean, refreshing, and well-suited to combating the Texas sun." - nicolai mccrary
