Some Austin Vegan Restaurants Closed: Mission Street Burrito, Fair Game, and Pinsa Palace | Eater Austin

"I noted that Fair Game was a vegan Italian pasta spot located inside the Austinite Market that opened in August 2022 and closed on March 17 as part of the Vegan Citadel group shutdown. The founders explained on Instagram that severe inflation, rising costs, the challenge of paying living wages, and supply chain issues made continued operation unsustainable without compromising portion size, pricing, and how they pay and treat employees. Some Fair Game dishes may appear as weekly specials at Mission Burger Co. going forward." - H. Drew Blackburn

Awesome market. Staff and owner are fantastic! Grab some gourmet food, a cold drink and sit out on the patio 🙌

This place is a full scam. I paid $16 for a frozen pizza, $6 at the HEB down the road. I get the connivence will lead to higher prices but this place is crazy. A lot of the stuff is near expiration. No price tags on anything but some wine and many are incorrectly marked and you find out at the register. Others note they charge double tax. I hate going here and only do for emergencies.

Awful store. Did a doordash pickup order for a six pack of light beer and when I showed up they said they were out of it and wanted to give me a non light beer instead. I looked through the fridge and brought up a comparably priced light beer to substitute and the clerk argued that it was a dollar more and wanted to collect a dollar. Absolutely ridiculous when they are supposed to have their inventory correct so when I place an order I can pick up the item I ordered. Amazing to me that this place cares so much about $1 but doesn't care about the hundreds of dollars I would spend as I am a local in the area. I will seek out a different liquor store for all of my future orders. Goodbye Austinite Market

I come here all the time for late night snacks and early morning energy drinks. The cashiers are always so friendly and the store is always kept so well. Great selection of drinks, snacks and alcohol. So grateful to have it in walking distance of me!

This little market is so convenient for the residents in the area. Their staff is super friendly and also very accommodating. There’s a super wide variety of wines/beers in addition to their snacks (gluten-free and vegan). Also be sure to check out the vegan burrito shop inside!! Every time we check out, they always ask what else the store can provide, in which you can make requests for specific goods/brands. They did an awesome job with starting up this store, I could not be more satisfied.

Cute convenient corner store I used to grab a drink from occasionally until I tried to get two Red Bulls the other day and they charged me 10 bucks…. Not an error we checked. I looked around at prices around the store and most are not marked but everything is extremely overpriced. This guy is a criminal. There is a better stalked and very reasonably priced shop down the street, the Red River Market (3213 Red River) that’s open til midnight every night.
