The Avenue Cafe NYC

Wonderful little cafe on a quiet street that just oozes warmth and hospitality. The croissant breakfast sausages are easily the best you will find in NYC! The staff greeted everyone by name which is an indication that they’re really a staple in the neighborhood now. Will definitely be returning to try out the other goodies! ♥️♥️

Cute bakery and coffee shop amidst all the craziness that is St. Marks. I'm obsessed with the chocolate banana bread (get it warmed up and eat it immediately) so I've yet to try the entire bakery selection, but if the rest of the options are anything like what I've had, it's worth a visit! Update: I've tried multiple other baked goods and they're all insane. You can't go wrong. I've only gotten the iced coffee from the coffee menu, but it's very solid. I get it black and am a big fan. Staff is super lovely and warm. They're honestly half the reason I plan to make this a regular weekend spot! (Beyond the banana bread. Seriously, get some.)

Little to-go coffee shop with French roast beans (dark dark dark roast). Warm ambiance inside, but a bit of a shame there wasn’t more seating for it: you can only fit 2 people at the counter inside. Maybe in the summer it’s nicer. Not the place to go for drip coffee. The beans are an unapologetic dark roast with no sense of nuance or enjoyment. Perhaps the espresso drinks are better, but assuming they use the same beans, then please note coffee can be so much more than this. Ownership should consider exploring different bean options. Additional amenities: pretty cool mural on the wall. Pastries are lined up in very aesthetically pleasing way. Coffee score: 2/5. Everything else score: 3/5. Overall score: 3/5.

You gotta come here. I love this place. The pastries are all fresh and delicious and it’s made all in house. The drinks a great too and consistent. The people here are lovely and have great vibes. You have to try everything they have savory and sweet and also healthy items too.

Excellent lattes, pastries, & service. The guava pastry was delicious. We tried both the mocha and sea moss latte (I was dubious, but it tasted great). We will definitely be back.

Coffee is delicious and a great price! The pastries are so yummy! The cinnamon bun was my favorite! Thank you from your across the street neighbors at The Sock Man ❤️

I found this store on too good to go. When i picked up my surprise bag, i saw they also sell the croissant donut. I bought one —and It is one of the best I have ever had. The other items in my surprise bag are gorgeous as well. I love the cookies, the danish , the focaccia are excellent. Amazing bakery. I 100% will come back

Loved the vibes here! The people here are so nice. Pastries are amazing, croissants are airy, buttery, and flaky, everything you would want in a French pastry. Amazing New York Twists with the bacon egg and cheese inside of a croissant, executed perfectly! I also loved the hot chocolate. Will definitely be back!
