A Horse-Themed Hangout Is Coming to a Storied Chevy Chase Corner | Eater DC

"Opened in 2018 as Walsh’s burger-and-beer standby, the Avenue helped anchor a revitalization of the upper Northwest corridor and includes a covered deck in back where Walsh recently opened Capital Crab for the crustacean-picking season." - Tierney Plumb

Opened in April 2025 by the local team behind Ikigai, this hawker stall grills up kalbi, bulgogi, and street-food favorites. Urban Milwaukee chronicled its debut, adding a welcome barbecue option to the busy downtown hall.

Not a mall. They transformed it into apartments and offices. Eerie not expecting the transformation and seeing a ghost mall. Very strange. But in some ways it's interesting. 🤔 But I would hate to see more malls do this. The economy doesn't seem healthy to me. Looks like something you would find in a communist country. Only TJMax no more choices. I bet you can find a dollar store somewhere. ☹️

I really enjoyed this marketplace. I would definitely be making another visit. I ate at a place called Dairyland and it did not let me down. It was so good. The burger was Amazing and the chicken tenders and fries hit the spot. I will return soon!

We are so excited for our new neighbors across the street and are blown away at how amazing of a job they have done with the space. The Avenue MKE has completely reinvigorated this space and transformed it into a vibrant community gathering place centered around food, drinks, and entertainment. If you haven’t been, I’d highly recommend. Congrats on the new space Ave MKE - were looking forward to continued patronage and anything that we can do to support. Enjoy Local!

Modern, clean space with so many good choices. Meat to vegetarian there are great options. I had pirogies today. They have everything, especially at Dairyland. Highly recommend. Park behind in lot or on Michigan. I ride my bike.

Do not run a tab at the center bar here. Closed my bill for 2 beers , they gave me a recipt to sign under someone else's card. Then charged my card $38 for someone's drinks & shots. Still haven't received a refund on my debit card 3 days later. Ridiculous & unprofessional.

Cool place to visit and take in the sights, go for a walk along the Riverwalk. Maybe rent a little boat or kayak, grab some lunch, do some shopping. Had a great time.

Cool place! Need to come back and enjoy the activities. Plenty of food options for everyone.

What a shame. Back in the day Grand Avenue was the place to go shopping. I have great memories of Christmas shopping there with family and friends. Now it's just an empty shell with the exception of a ratty TJ Maxx. Hopefully Grand Avenue, along with brick and mortar stores in general, can make a comeback.
