"Inspired by Suzanne Goin’s former Brentwood restaurant Tavern, the Backyard emphasizes an open grill and seasonal fare; start with a charcuterie board and crusty sourdough from the Larder bakery. Standout entrees mentioned include Baja striped bass with a summery corn succotash and crisp watercress, grilled lamb chops atop marinated eggplant and blistered sweet peppers, and grilled diver scallops served over a cornbread panade with wild mushrooms, and for dessert the cherry and apricot galette is recommended. There is a raw bar, and a daily selection of fresh fish caught in Montauk that is simply grilled; the side selection includes polenta with Parmesan and truffle oil, local squash, and grilled asparagus.
