The Bagel Bakery Cafe

This is the cutest little breakfast spot in this part of SF! On one hand, I hope they blow up online and get the same love as other bakeries have, but on the other hand, I want the lines to stay short! We got the pain au chocolate, which was so delicious! The chocolate filling was great and they had a copious amount in the pastry. It was also soft and warm, probably one of the best pain au chocolates I have ever had. We also got the iced chai latte, which was flavorful and nice! Finally, we got the jalapeño cheese bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. The cream cheese was scrumptious, but the bagel felt a little stale. Service was fast for the place’s size, and it smelled delicious inside when we walked in. There is a little seating area but it’s probably better to take your food to go.

Asian lady not so friendly. She just stares at you and does not welcome you in as you step in the cafe. I was a female of color and looking back on reviews it seems she doesn't care for customers unless they are Caucasian. There were plenty of white males before me who were treated way better. Very disappointed to see customers service is not a priority to all customers. She also grabbed my bagel as she is on the register and not wearing gloves like the lady's who were preparing the food. Please work on your customer service. Thank you.

“Permanent food facilities with on site food consumption, regardless of size, must provide an operable restroom for customers” per California state law. This establishment refused utility workers, who purchased food, access to a restroom after the workers worked overnight with no rest in the cold to restore the power in this establishment and to its neighbors. Not only have they broken the law, they are inconsiderate of those who provided a service to ensure they could be operable and make money today. Do better.

Always loved this place. Call in n order the breakfast sausage egg with cheese bagel and got to taste the the Monterey Reuben which was alright but their bagels and bagel sandwiches were always the bomb. The staff are great and friendly.

Loved it. Here visiting. Needed a good bagel before my haircut 3 office spaces down. Staff is friendly. It’s got a chill vibe. Food was perfect.

Decent and easily accessible spot for a quick lunch. The service was fast and efficient. I ordered two cheese bagels both with cream cheese totaling just under $15 with a small tip, which seems a bit pricey to me. All in all for the convenience this isn't a bad option though.

Great fast-eats place near the ballpark. I came here for lunch and service was friendly, quick, and easy. I loved my Sausage egg and cheese omelette sandwich on everything bagel--so good! It's very affordable. Decor is minimalist, they have a few small tables inside. They have a lot of options that I can't wait to go back for.

My bagel fell apart and I couldn't even eat it. the chunks of vegetables were too big I couldn't enjoy my bagel it was too messy and cold

Solid place to grab a quick bagel. I am always in and out in the morning when I am on a bagel run. I got the sausage breakfast bagel and the egg is fluffy and the bagel tastes great!

Delicious veggie bagel sandwich on a random Monday late afternoon. The cucumber was missing, but it was still truly delicious. Definitely recommend !

Super cute, super fast, lots of options, and great bagel sandwiches. I've seen this place in my search results when looking for my morning bagel. Finally decided to check it out on the way to the office and I'm glad I did. This place is reminiscent of old school neighborhood bagel joints/sandwich shops where most people are in and out to grab breakfast or lunch while at their jobs. Overall prices were pretty standard without being too crazy like most places in SF are. $7.95 and $8.95 breakfast bagel selections with eggs, cheese, some breakfast meat or veg, etc. What really impressed me though was the speed! After I ordered, I took a lap around the small cafe looking at some of their premade sandwiches and coffee selections, and once that lap was complete, she already had my bagel ready to go! Super efficient. Tasty. A bit messy because I get aaaaaaall the stuff loaded on there, but I enjoyed every drip.

Decently priced bagel place around the ballpark. When I went it didn't look like they had their full assortment of bagels avaliable. But my order of the lox bagel was good. Topped with capers, red onions, tomatoes, cream cheese, and smoked salmon; the bagel sandwich tastes super fresh. Also got a tub of strawberry cream cheese which tastes amazing. Would be happy to come back and try their breakfast bagel sandwiches.

The Bagel Bakery is located right around the corner from Oracle Park. Not too far from Mission Bay. So when I'm in the area, I come here to get a lox & bagel. It's a really tiny place, with just a few small tables to eat. So I'll usually take it around the corner and grab a Starbucks coffee and eat it there. The employees are friendly and the bagel sandwiches are made in a reasonable amount of time, not like some places where it takes forever. Not too many things are better than a lox, bagel, cream cheese, etc and Bagel Bakery makes a good one.

Wanted a quick bagel before heading out of the city and found this place. I ordered the bacon and egg on an everything bagel. The bagel sandwich was pretty good and the place was small but clean. Service was quick and cashier was friendly.

Classic and tasty, around forever, the bagel dogs were a go-to in high school, and coming back for them years later? They hold up! Everything bagel w veggie spread on point.

Came here two mornings in a row because it was so close to the hotel we were staying (literally a few steps away from the lobby). I love me some bagels and this place does a great job! Bought the #6 on a cheese bagel (egg, cheese and sausage). Both times were delish! Hot and the bread was fresh. My family loved it. What a great hidden little gem in SF. Also the mocha was amazeeeee

Delicious White Fish Salad on onion bagel, in fact, it was so delicious I ended up buying a tub of white fish salad and onion bagels for takeout. Quick and great service by the young ladies in front. Will definitely come back to try other sandwiches, bagels and cream cheese spreads.

Obscure corner alley shop that cranks out fresh bagels near Oracle Park. I can't tell whether they buy or prepare in-house bagels in that tiny space , all I know is that they look, smell and taste delicious. There are 4 chalkboards that tout sandwiches, spreads and beverages. Lots of attractive options from breakfast bagels to lunch sandwiches. There are typical cream cheese and lox spreads plus jams, toasted plain and several more to get your day started. Just to try them, we selected a baker's dozen of assorted bagels. The bagels were well made, toppings firmly planted and spices, seeds and flavors incorporated into the dough. After cutting and toasting, the bagels were chewy, but very moist and pliable. Very nice textures and flavors from everything, onion, garlic, dried tomato, sesame/poppy, pumpernickel, whole wheat and plain. They might have had a few more but we'll save that for next time!

Delicious!! Fast & friendly service. They have a huge variety - bagels, sandwiches (cold/hot) and everything is tasty! They accept card too! So convenient! Highly recommend: cold brew iced coffee!!! It was absolutely delicious (tasted like traditional Vietnamese coffee)

I was craving a bagel on my way to work. I went in around 6 am at their opening time. They made fresh bagels. I got a yummy cheese and jalapeño bagel with cream cheese. It really made my morning. The Kona coffee was yummy as well. Coming again for sure.

I'm so glad I finally discovered a quick, convenient, no-nonsense place nearby where I can pick up a good bagel sandwich. SF is severely lacking in good bagel options, but this one is the best that I've found so far. I only wish they were open on the weekend!

Stuffed bagels that will keep you stuffed. Got the Breakfast Bagel and the Sausage Bagel, I split half and half so I got to eat a half of each Both were really flavorful and the bagels themselves were fluffy and doughy. Also got the thai tea boba that brought me back to my childhood. Especially with the little random characters printed on the lid.

Yes - they're OPEN!! I happened to walk by the shop today on my way to Public Storage and they were open, had their full menu, and NO ONE WAS THERE! Seeing businesses like this really breaks my heart because having friends in the restaurant industry, I have become way more aware of what a difficult decision it is to choose to stay open or temporarily (or permanently) close. I loved how they still had fresh, hot bagels available and their full menu was open. I ordered: 1. Latte - obviously had to order a coffee for fix! I can't find open espresso places anywhere within 2 blocks of me and BOY, am i tired of instant coffee!! 2. California Reuben - This is using turkey instead of pastrami and it was freshly pressed and sooooooo good!! Yummmm!! I bought an extra one for my roomies and they all agreed - YUM! 3. Blueberry Bagels - I would be completely remiss if I didn't work a bagel from a place that has the word "BAGEL" in the name! Enjoyed the service! PLUS, I loved how they had a big shower curtain up with strategically placed holes so we could still see the menu while they could protect themselves (and us)! Hope this craziness ends soon, but if you're in the area - please check it out!!!

I was really craving a great bagel and I found this place about a 15 minute walk from me. I decided to go and treat myself to a lox bagel. I got there and the place was very small and cute and everything was very quick and efficient. My bagel came to about $14 with tax and tip so it was a bit pricey but I thought it was okay if it was worth it. Unfortunately the bagel and lox just did not have much flavor. I love a good cheese bagel but it was pretty bland and then the salmon was pretty weak as well. To further my disappointment there was only about four capers on the whole thing which you can see in the middle on the sandwich. I would not say this was a bad place but I don't think I would ever make an effort to go back out of my way.

I like a simple everything bagel with cream cheese and this place delivers. The bagels are typically EXCELLENT! I'd give 5 stars but $5 for a bagel w/plain cream cheese? That's too much! Yet this isn't NYC so I'll have to pay a premium for bagels that taste like it. The staff is lovely and sometimes remember my order. Thanks.

We tried the lox bagel (#21) and turkey avocado bagel (#17) on everything bagel and they were absolutely amazing! The bagels themselves were the best bagels I've had west of the Mississippi: chewy on the outside but still soft and very fresh. The lox bagel was also one of the best I've ever had anywhere. The turkey avocado bagel was also great but I think they could have put a little more turkey in it tho. All this plus a cup of organic coffee was $15. In San Francisco. It doesn't get better than this for fast, quick, but yet healthy & delicious breakfast!

Verified. Bagel made the way I like it. In boiling water and baked right after. That gives this bagel an edge over the rest of the bagel in town. Fluffy and filling! They have the most generous amount of whatever they put in between those yummy bagels. The eggs? Thick and tasty! The cheese? Generous enough to notice that it's there. Yes. You have choices of cheese. I had one of their bagel omelettes. At $4.25 it's easily one of my top three choices for a breakfast of this kind. Generous is the best description. I had mine with sausage. Generous. And fast. There's a few tables to set your food and eat. Three total. Although this is not the kind of place for a long Tet a tet. It's a fast moving place for busy people. Most customers take their order to go. I noticed they carry Thai iced tea. I noticed that on my way out. Darn it!

This is a fantastic bagel shop. Baked fresh daily and never disappoints. Hard outside and soft inside like it's supposed to be. Great cream cheese options. Whenever we get bagels for our office we go here and everyone loves them.

In town for business and staying nearby. Had the everything bagel with eggs and sausage. Really tasty and fresh. The coffee was hot and there were plenty of flavor options. The team behind the counter were also super friendly. Highly recommended for a quick and satisfying breakfast.

We got there around 930, and it was perfect because it was a line out the door after that! It was so good and really Quick service to get to counter and get your food.

For SF, these are some pretty good bagels. Overall 5 stars for quality, efficiency, and customer service. We ordered a 1) lox w/ cucumbers & 2) breakfast bagel w/ avocado, both on everything bagels. The bagels were well toasted, the everything seasoning was flavorful and the sandwiches were pretty large! I particularly liked my breakfast bagel, the eggs were scrambled with mushroom and green onion and it was *chefs kiss I saw someone give them a 3 star bc they ordered a lox and it came with onions and tomatoes ....please...if you don't know your bagels don't ruin a decent business's yelp page and opportunities to get customers.

Who adds tomatoes and onions to a bagel? First I've ever had. If you take out all that extra fluff, the bagel is TINY. Barely any smoked salmon for a steep almost $10 price. Would not recommend or come again.

The bagels were harder and drier than expected. Got a variety for work: sun-dried tomato, cinnamon raisin, plain, sesame and jalapeno. Selection was good. But sorry, I still prefer the chewiness from Noah's...

We were here yesterday with my friend, and I wanna say that is dope, a real gem. We took to-go Bagel Sandwiches with a coffee. Fresh and tasty. Special thanks to service team! I highly recommend this place.

A really convenient, quick, and affordable lunch spot in SOMA! The bagels are delicious and the bagel sandwiches are even better. I got a lox bagel sandwich and added cucumber--it was packed full with a thick layer of lox and super fresh-tasting ingredients.

The Bagel Bakery is a nice little spot on a street corner great for grabbing a simple breakfast or lunch with a cup of coffee. I came here on a weekday afternoon while taking a walk in the area and noticing this place out of the corner of my eye. Now, one ought to think that from the title of this establishment, I would decide to try one of their bagels. However, my brilliant wisdom that I have acquired throughout the marvelous journey dubbed life really shone when I stood before the counter and said, "I'll uhhhhh... I'll try the California Reuben sandwich". It took but 30 seconds for me to realize that getting a bagel was probably the way to go. That being said the reuben sandwich was not bad by any means. I just felt that it was on the lower end of reuben sandwiches I've had. They use lunch meat turkey slices for the meat instead of the corned beef that I adore in typical reubens. The rye bread and sauerkraut was a bit milder in flavor than most. I did enjoy how the bread was grilled, with some crisp. The sandwich apparently also comes with a side of macaroni salad which was unexpected and a nice touch. Next time, I'm coming for those bagels though!

Ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on everything and it was the best bagel I've had to date in SF! Perfectly scrambled egg, generous amount of bacon, and the bagel was large and chewy. Staff is pleasant and super efficient. I'll be going here more often!

The food there is very good, not jaw-dropping, but very good. The egg is from a microwave so that may be why, but the bagel and cheese were both very good. The customer service is good as well. Definitely recommend getting a drink with the bagel as it is a lot to eat.

90% of businesses are gone from FiDi. The Bagel Bakery is your place for everything excellent and it's STILL OPEN. If you are hungry and need to be somewhere soon and are running short on time then stop in. Clearly this business has great safety protocols for its pandemic procedures. I felt safe, ordered quick and was in and out in minutes.

I love this place. The bagels are always fresh. The bagel sandwiches are delicious and generous with the toppings that it makes it hard for me to finish a a whole one at once. And very reasonable prices. The friendly staff is great as well. Ive had a few different bagels but tend to default to the turkey avocado on bagel. They arent open late so I'd check to make sure they are open if you're trying for early afternoon - yelp hasnt always been accurate lately.

This place has always been great, and the ladies that work there are also great. My only issue is that they need to pay more attention to your order and getting it correct. I hope someone sees this and corrects the problem, because I really would love to bump them up to 5 stars if they improve on this.
