Bad Santa. I was so grateful this place was open on Christmas. I took my family and ordered my wife a bagel with salmon and myself a California wrap. My poor wife was throwing up on 7th Ave after she bit into a hair. But that would not make her sick like that. I also felt sick. Dirty hands on whoever was working. Had not seen him before. I gave him $20 for working on a holiday. He can keep the money but please guys for the sake of your neighbors wash your hands and wear a hair net or hat. I noticed the other guy wearing a hair net. Just unlucky day. I felt awful writing because I support our neighborhood small biz but it just isn't right.

This was my first time here and it will not be my last. I order an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. OMG. The bagel was so fresh and soft. The cream cheese wasn’t too spicy. It was just enough kick. It was so great that I went back before I went home to get another one. I also purchase a freshly squeeze OJ. That first sip feeling made me realize drinking Tropicana OJ for years has been a joke lol. The freshness and just enough sweetness I got from this juice and my sandwich I was a very happy customer. Customer service was also A+++++++. I will be back very soon. Please don’t hesitate to visit this business.

It’s unfortunate to give this place 1 star because the food is great and the employees are very nice, but they get your order wrong almost every time. We’ve been coming here pretty often for over 2 years still trying to give them a chance because we love their bagels, but more times than not our orders are wrong. I’d say around 80% of the time our orders are wrong. They just won’t write anything down, it’s ridiculous. I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel and went back to the store after I saw it was wrong, and they straight up tried to convince me this was whole wheat. It’s not, clearly it’s regular per the picture. They insisted it was whole wheat but just a “lighter color today”. What??? Insanity. We pay for add ons to breakfast sandwiches like avocado and it’s missing. Waste of money and extremely frustrating because it’s been consistently happening for years. Updating this review because we just ordered bacon egg and cheeses and they forgot the bacon, didn’t melt the cheese and absolutely drowned it in hot sauce. It is inedible. Like so many of their egg sandwiches because they make them horribly and/or always forget your order - it’s inedible there. Such a waste of money because it’s expensive. Never going back there.

Just came in to rest my feet and get out of the cold and so pleased I did. Quiet and peaceful, great prices, lots of choice and very personable service. The cream cheese bagel was really cheap but tasted gorgeous. The sort that makes your feet tingle. Thanks to my friendly server too.

Finally, the best bagel place within walking distance of my office. I've tried them all, and was SO glad to hit up Bagel Market. I ordered online an hour ahead for pickup. I arrived 15 mins ahead of my pickup time and it was already available. Very speedy experience and delicious. Not everyone makes egg everything bagels and they NAIL IT. Plus, the lox was fresh and they offer capers and red onion!

Bagels are big and scrumptious. Awesome cream cheese selection and great bacon egg and cheese. Friendly service too :)

I've been here a handful of times and each time the experience is just as great. I have a few go-to options off of their extensive food options; the omelet special (comes with home fries), the cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese, and a large iced Hazelnut Coffee with half and half or Oat Milk. Whenever I come here I'm served pretty quickly (except for once where I was ignored for a while) and I usually dine in. I love how there's outlets to charge your device while you dine. Typically, I hang out after eating to digest my meal and kill time before running errands or heading to an appointment.

Great bagels, good selection of cream cheeses, and excellent coffee. Really, what else do you want in a bagel shop? Service is friendly and helpful

I'm unsure of why this place has such a low rating! I enjoyed ordering my typical breakfast order here. I'm a loyal customer via DoorDash and I have yet to be disappointed. My turkey bacon, egg, and cheese in a wheat bagel always comes to me wrapped nicely and prepared perfectly. I have 0 complaints. I failed to take a photo of it because I was so hungry. It would have been your typical photo anyways! But I did take a photo of my chai tea latte because I was impressed with it. It hit the spot for me. Believe it or not, people can mess up a chai tea latte. Lol. Also, kudos to how they pack their drinks so that it doesn't spill too much (or even at all). It's a little too far away for me to walk to when I'm at work. But it seems like this place would be your typical busy deli in the mornings and maybe even lunch time; jammed pack with wonderful items on display for you to buy last minute when you're waiting for your bagel. Anyways. Definitely recommend! I will probably visit it on a day where I don't have a bunch of students to attend to and it is a teacher workday. But for now, I can rely on this spot to be my bagel spot when I can't stop somewhere to grab something before work.

I ordered through seamless, delivery took forever but they were transparent about it so I'm not mad. The fact that there open during this quarantine is 5 stars in my book. I ordered a bagel with tofu cream cheese which they forgot the tomato and messed up my order a little but when I called the guy was very professional and respectful and sent out the delivery guy again to bring me a bagel with tofu cream cheese and tomato and it was SO GOOD! Coffee was delicious and I would definitely give them 5 stars for customer service. Tip the delivery guy good and order some good bagels!! Don't be scared by negative reviews it wasn't the best bagel ever but it was good and I would order again.

Great bagels in Park Slope! My friend introduced us to this place and we thoroughly enjoyed our massive egg and jalapeno bagels loaded with lite scallion cream cheese. Service was also notably friendly and welcoming.

Great bagels grumpy service but left 20% tip when they turn that pad around. Only to get home and find they messed up the 2 bagel orders and the littlest amount of cream cheese. Ridiculous for the $. Bye bye bagel marker going to delight instead

This might be a controversial statement, but Bagel Market has the best bagels in Park Slope. Yeah, I said it: better than Bagel Hole, Bagel Pub and Bergen Bagels. The bagels are always fresh and massive, their BEC is my go to sandwich, and they have an impressive selection of bagel types and cream cheeses. In addition to killer bagels, they also have a packed pastry case with all the NYC classics, like black and white cookies, rugelach, croissants and more. The staff is always friendly and even when the line is out the door it moves fast. Only downside is they close at 3 pm and sometimes I don't make it out of the house soon enough to grab a bagel (but that's 100% my own fault!).

Nice looking shop. I stopped in to grab a dozen and some cream cheese for the family. They have a good amount of bagel varieties. I tend to stick with the old favorites (plain, everything, poppy, sesame and wheat). The bagels are huge. Big and fat bagels made properly, they have a crunch and are not rolls with holes. The toppings are abundant and the cream cheese was fresh. Very delicious place, a little expensive, but you do get a big bagel. An added plus was the Black & White cookie I picked up.

This was such a great choice!! I got the lox on a toasted bagel. It was so full. This place is definitely a gem.

I'm not a bagel fanatic but have come here twice already when in the area and in the mood to have a bagel once in a while. Service has been great both times I've been here. Bagels are fresh and there are various cream cheese spreads (I got the lox cream cheese). They also make fresh squeezed orange juice.

I asked for a cream cheese and lox bagel and they gave me a lox cream cheese bagel. Bagel was burnt black: disappointing. Blue berry muffin was uncooked pasty green; BLT had zero bacon.

Came here for a second time because I've been craving bagels. Their portions are amazingly HUGE. I ordered online for pick up and this time around when we came to pick up, it was ready. My lox and scallion cream cheese bagel was overflowing with cream cheese. That's all I needed to eat for the day. My boyfriend ordered a roll and he said this bagel place is so generous with their portions. Definitely recommend!

So, I have a mixed review. The positive: good service and generous toppings (though cinnamon raisin wasn't so great). On account of the toppings for everything bagels or onion, etc I would recommend for sure. But consistency of bagels isn't the best.

This place is just not worth it. They have the worst, unfriendliest service and are guaranteed to botch your order, no matter how simple, and no matter how many times they repeat it back to you. On multiple occasions, I have been the only person in person in line. The workers will see me standing there, but continue with whatever they're doing (cleaning, restocking) until they're done, 6 or 7 minutes later, before acknowledging me with am apathetic "what do you want?" No "hello, be right with you"...just indifference. I once ordered a bagel with cream cheese, and while at most bagel shops, you have to scrape off the excess, Bagel Market gave me the faintest bit -- so paltry you could see the bread right through it -- even though they clearly had plenty of it. For what they charge? Forget it. On multiple occasions, they have forgotten a topping that we've paid extra for, or gotten parts of our order reversed. They repeat it back to you, ask you again while they're making your order, and somehow still get it wrong. Maybe write it down? And then when you're paying, if you politely ask if they included a portion of your order, they give you the most indignant look. If my order wasn't wrong every single time, I wouldn't have to ask, nor should I have to open and check my order before I leave the store. We've been coming on occasion for almost 3 years, but after this last time of being brushed off, we are done and never giving this place our business again.

I love this place. Pretty much anytime I'm working in the neighborhood I pop by for breakfast or lunch. No complaints on the bagels, accompaniments, portions, or price. My go-to lunch is the Bird Sandwich which comes with turkey, Muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. I like to get it on a toasted California bagel (I think they invented this type of bagel; it basically has a bunch of grains and oats in it and is a tinge sweet). All the sandwiches come with a bag of chips and a pickle, so it's quite a satisfying meal! I'm also a big fan of their lox + plain cream cheese, which I like to enjoy sandwiched between a toasted sesame bagel. They have like 15 other varieties of bagels and cream cheese, so whatever you fancy they probably have it. If you're not in the mood for a bagel, you can also get sandwiches on sliced bread or rolls. You can even do a salad. They also have an impressive display of baked goods, packaged treats, and beverages for your snacking pleasure. It can get a little busy during the breakfast and lunch rush, but the guys are fast so don't let the lines intimidate you.

Favorite bagel place is Brooklyn - Confused as to why they have 3 stars - Inexpensive - Large assortment of bagels to choice from (mini & regular sized) - Line tends to get long - Staff is always nice - They well salads & coffee as well which I have never tried

This is my favorite bagel in park slope. I used to be a Bagel Delight person, but after ordering from both back to back a few times, these win out. The dough is a little more salty and it really makes a difference. Love this place.

This place should be embarrassed about what they serve. Got a $12 bagel with lox this morning because I forgot I'd been here last year and already knew it was terrible. No surprise, it was terrible again. The lox was stale and chewy, even though they had a huge tray of it sitting out. The cream cheese tasted sour and not fresh. The bagel was passable, but nowhere near good enough to make up for the rest of the hot mess. I ate half the bagel half out of spite and half because I was starving, and tossed the rest. Total waste of money! Skip this place.

SHOOK BY THEIR STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE. I ordered a raisin bagel with the amazing cream cheese today, and it had so many chunks of legit strawberry mixed in I felt truly blessed. The bagel was perfectly toasty and made the cream cheese just a lil melty. It was an enlightening experience 10/10 highly recommend. I also really like their black and white cookie, but I'm nostalgic about them so my judgement may be skewed. That being said, I've gotten their lox and scallion cream cheese before, and it was alright--it had lots of lox but it was too salty. They're very good with giving a solid amount of cream cheese though, and the staff are super friendly. Overall a solid place with life-changing strawberry cream cheese.

Ordered delivery, 1-2 items were quite good and tasty, but they sent me several other incorrect items. Also their "jalapeno cheddar cream cheese" is regular cream cheese with a tiny amount of chopped raw jalapeno peppers and a bunch of cut up American cheese slices, no cheddar.

The bagels are great. And *most* of the guys at the counter are great. So why one star? 2 reasons: (1) A few weeks ago, my wife found a small piece of metal in her bagel. We brought it to the counter to let them know. Their response was basically "Oh." I'm sure that's not a common occurrence, and a bagel only costs a few bucks, but the good business move in that scenario is usually to, at the very least, apologize for the metal object being in the food and either make a new one or give the customer one on the house as a show of goodwill. But all they did was pause and say "Oh." I was willing to look past the metal as a freak occurrence and kept going back there several times a week because the bagels (again, most of them metal-free) are quite tasty. But then this happened: (2) I got the most appalling service and attitude from the *manager,* an obese Hispanic gentleman with a lot of tattoos, wearing a black shirt and ball cap. I asked for a lightly toasted bagel with eggs and got back a burned bagel that was cut so poorly (one side cut, the other not) it fell apart as soon as I opened it. When I asked for a remake, the *manager* proceeded to argue with me about whether or not the bagel was burned and insisted that all toasted bagels come out the same. Not an argument a customer should have to have, especially with a burned bagel sitting right there. The guy didn't even try to hide his anger - he was outright hostile. I convinced him to try again and he grabbed the wrong kind of bagel, at which point I just asked for a refund and left. I insisted on taking back the dollar I tipped. The *manager* then passive aggressively suggested I take two, so I obliged. Worst experience from any kind of food vendor in NYC I've experienced in 10 years living here. So I guess my recommendation is to definitely bail if you see that guy, and maybe bring a metal detector to be safe.

This place could be pretty solid but for the love of all that is good, invest in a better toaster or turn yours down!!! You ALWAYS burn the everything bagels and burnt garlic is gross.

Ok so these guys don't make bagels like they do in my hometown of Montréal. But are their bagels good? Yes they are. I love that they have a regular and a mini size bagels, it's perfect for someone who don't want too much dough. The crust is always nice and inside fluffy. Their cream cheese spreads are endless, some of my faves are cucumber and dill, the lox oh so yummy and creamy, and the sundried tomatoes! These guys are also super fast and efficient. We also got lunch sandwiches from them and it was delish!

Bagels are good when they are fresh in the morning. But what upsets me is that the owner charges 4% extra when you use a debit card. Who does that? I can see a credit card, but not a debit card. After 27 years in the neighborhood its time to say goodbye.

What a shame this place is. The men behind the counter bark at customers. The disdain on their faces is not only palpable, it's outright proudly visible. Today, 2/28 at 9:20m one of the male workers (dark shirt, wearing a dark baseball cap with white script lettering, turned around) yelled at me three times in front of other customers. Who wants to have this treatment on a Saturday or Sunday morning? The great irony is that they place placards around their restaurant about kindness and goodwill, yet they follow none of these wisdoms themselves. I tolerated this service for years, only because we know how hard it is to be in the service industry. You can tip generously at each visit and patiently wait your turn to order. But after the dozenth time of facing visible scorn from the employees here -- I will never, ever return again. This restaurant is deadto me. Enough is enough.

Nice Bagel shop, this is one of my local go-to bagel shops in the neighborhood, the bagels are always hot and fresh, although they seem to close pretty early, hot and ready soups are always on the menu, good thing is that they always have many options of soups and they the soup menu changes daily. This bagel shop serves breakfast, but I prefer ordering bagels with cream cheese or with specialty spreads like white fish on an everything bagel. I'm not sure if they still offer pastrami and corned beef sandwiches on the menu but I used to order good pastrami sandwiches a while back, they used to make it fresh in house. It's a good bagel shop, although I do find it a tiny bit expensive and they do close sort of early. I recommend this place for a good bagel.

We placed an order on seamless for a new years brunch and were very happy with the results. The bagels were nice and fresh and the lox and side salads were tasty and also well packaged. Everything was ready right on time as well!

I have to admit, The Bagel Market was outstanding. Great location, great ambiance. The staff was very hard working. Every thing was fresh, flavorful, and really yummy. Good luck The Bagel Market.

An absolute disaster of a bagel shop. Poor customer service, a long wait and unfriendly staff.

Love their garlic bagels. They have a decent variety of pastries and drinks. Customer service is pretty good.

I don't like bad bagels, and that is what we had here. Encouraged by their jalapeño bagel, I was disappointed in how bland it was - not a hint of flavor. Liking things hot, I topped it with jalapeño-asiago cream cheese (delicious at Brooklyn Bagel), and that was also flavorless. And the starch... when a place indicates they hand roll and boil their bagels I expect a genuine New York bagel. But the bleached out excuses sold here don't measure up. They have no life, no taste, no weight. I could go on about the so-so coffee and the distracted service, but why bother? I'll trade aggravations for excellent food. But bland food? I'll pass. There are better options just down the block.

Despite the number of negative reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I walked in at 6:22 and it was completely dark, even though it opens at 6:00. The woman behind the counter couldn't so much as look at me when taking my order and seemed annoyed by my presence.

Line is out of hand - they don't have the "order up" type of staff as la bagel and care more about seemless orders than line- on a Saturday morning they are under staffed. Good bagels though and line for a reason- also don't cream cheese both sides of bagel

Slowest service on earth. Overpriced and essentially underwhelming fare. Coffee is decent - often served luke warm. The most poorly managed place in Brooklyn. I am currently on line waiting for a bagel and coffee (ten minutes) six people ahead of me and only one person working while many others hover (busily) in the back. This is a frequent occasion. And the line has not moved. The food is mediocre at best. One must ask, why bother? This is not a criticism of the people obviously working hard - but of the manager and owners - both obviously not present in body or spirit. This place is not worthy of local support. Sadly - a DD will likely replace it once the fools in the neighborhood stop accepting this as a vital neighborhood enterprise. This is the new Brooklyn.

They used to have the best bagel in the neighborhood. Not sure what happened, but their bagels went from soft and delicious, made fresh and with plenty of flavor, to small, tasteless and hard. They are now flat and taste old. Sadly, we are looking for a new place.

"Small hot coffee please, regular." Simple right?? Strike two and I had to catch the bus, leaving empty handed but already having paid. The coffee had grounds in it. She said cuz it was the last in the pot and she's brewing more. Thanks for serving me the acid bath. Waited forever for second cup but way too dark and something greasy floating on top. A smile might have helped. So annoying.

Just ate the most flavorless sandwich I've ever consumed- and it cost me $9!!!. Since when is deli chicken salad simply chunks of chicken with mayo? No seasoning or flavor at all. The gluten free roll crumbled to bits and choked me with its dryness. And and can we just petition to ban shredded iceberg lettuce?! For something so basic at that price, I was highly underwhelmed. Maybe their other menu items are better but I'd be hard pressed to go back.

The selection is pretty good and the food is decent if unremarkable. The reason for the low rating is the fact that not only are their prices outrageous, even by the elevated standards in the area, but they routinely overcharge. First time: I let it go. Second: it really bothered me and I said something and they corrected it, but wouldn't tell me what the problem had been. Third time?!? You've lost my business. The staff refuses to itemize their receipts and yet insist on breaking the cost of any sandwich down into its constituent parts, though when questioned they will often not be able to tell you which fee is for which part of the meal. Absurd. There's literally a comparable bagel shop less than a block away. You have to at least make an effort!

One time I went in and there was one guy that didn't have a smile on his face. It was odd. Freshly squeezed OJ, salads, sandwiches, pastries, desserts, bagels, etc etc. They've got "California" bagels and also sun-dried tomato bagels. WHAT.
